How was it? It is getting all kinds of accolades!

It was amazing. I cried almost the whole way through.

Jodi...I thought I quoted you. I'm glad the MIL is home. But, yes...follow up on those docs and PT. ::yes::

Everyone was showing off their Christmas trees .... here's ours:

Lovely! :thumbsup2

I am beyond frustrated right now!

Oh my goodness! I don't blame you.

We're back home from Albuquerque. It was soooo wierd driving home. It snowed overnight in Abq...and when we left it was flurries. For 45 minutes it was a blizzard on the interstate, and we were literally going about 45 mph. Then, it began to sleet and the sun came out. Then it began to pour. Then the sun came out. Then it got really windy. Then it began to rain. The sun came out. Then it got really cloudy and began to rain again. There was also a 25 jump in temps on the way home. All in the span of 3 1/2 hours. But, we're home. Safe and sound!
And people think glabal warming is a myth! ;) Glad you made it safely.

Beautiful trees Angela! Is the main one real or fake?

Fake. We tried real for a few years when we were first married. Fake is better around Mitch. :thumbsup2

Pretty! :goodvibes

I LOVE IT ....It's RED.. which is really my FAVORITE COLOR.

Mine too! :thumbsup2

Oh BTW .. I saw that UT Tree Angela  ...my eyes my eyes.... Just Kidding :)
:rotfl: Yes, well, living here with all those Gator fans I know what you mean! :rolleyes1

Other than that, I do have some good news. The MIL came home today. And they made it home before the roads turned into sheets of ice. The only thing that is somewhat concerning is the total lack of instruction the nurses seemed to give her. Basically, she's supposed to see the doctor in two weeks. When I asked my FIL about physical therapy, etc., he said they never mentioned it. :confused3 I think I'm going to suggest to DH that he go over there and read through the discharge paperwork. My FIL couldn't even tell me which doctor she had to see in two weeks! Let's just say my FIL is not a detail person!
At least DH can figure it out.

I am beyond frustrated right now!

I received a letter in the mail today from one of the Nursing programs I applied to stating that I do not have the "minimum requirements"

These supposed missing requirements are

"Grade 12" Biology
"Grade 12" Chemistry

Well in the States they don't offer "Grade 12" Biology and Chemistry trey simply offer Biology and Chemistry taken at grade 10 and 11. They are the same courses though. I had to pay the college a $90 fee to "translate" my transcript to Ontario standards and this is what I get.

I sent off a nice e-mail explaining how I meet the requirements and do they require any other proof, blah blah blah. I probably won't hear anything back until the New Year though. This is just really cheesing me off!

Having an American high school education is really working against me right now even though the education I received in Va Beach is far superior than what I would have gotten here.
[/QUOTE

Lessa I have run into problems with being educated in England as we don't get a HIGH School Diploma , when I said I had 5 GCEsO levels and 1 OA level they have no clue what I mean I tell them basically it's an Assoc.Degree . I kept my High School report book which proved I finished school and a couple of times I have had to show it !! Jo will understand me but I'm sure most of you wont !!

So, I went to the Postal Annex to pick up my mail since THURS. There were 10 people in front of me! I got to the window, finally, and told her my address. She disappears into the back and comes back with a stack of mail, and a box. Then she says, "You need to clear out around your mailbox."
OMG
OMG
I almost killed her right there with my bare hands. Are you kidding!!!!???
There's over a FOOT of snow on my street. Where am I supposed to CLEAR out? I can't even WALK TO IT. OMG.
My blood pressure must have been sky high.

I took my mail and left muttering. Seriously, what is their problem??!!

Mel, I'm sorry.

Hi CE! Hope you have a good day!

I did, thanks! :goodvibes

I don't know if I'll make it back on here before I leave. I wish everybody a safe and Happy Holiday!! See you around the New Year!!!!

Happy holidays to you, too! Enjoy!

I need a breakfast recipe. We usually just get danishes from the bakery, but I am thinking of baking something this year. Mel? Kat? Angela? Anybody? I need easy, bake ahead, and sugary.

I was going to give you my mom's sweet rolls, but she didn't put it in my book! I'm shocked!

I'll see if I can get it early tomorrow. It's cinnamon and frozen bread dough and sugar and nuts. Pretty yummy!

You'll be seeing less of me here than I would like over the next couple days.

I'm sorry about the clients, but I see it's gotten a bit better.

When's Grandma coming?

My parents couldn't figure out what to do with her, so she's coming with them. They are driving. At first they said they'd be here Sunday. Suddenly, it might be Friday. I'm not going to be ready, and D wants to go skiing.

So I woke up early this morning with every intention of going out and getting all my errands done and then my mom roped me in to making some coquito and all of a sudden I got sleepy. I wonder if it was the rum from taste testing the coquito.

Surely not. ;)

So I'm just about finished with getting stuff for stockings. That's always the hardest part for me. #2 son wants kalamata olives and capers in his :confused3

I could even understand the olives, but the capers are throwing me. :rotfl:

I've got a really sore throat, swollen glands and my neck aches :scared: I've just taken some pills and eaten ice-cream to help :rotfl2:

Oh, no - hope the ice cream helped! :goodvibes

Glad D made it home in time!

Thanks!

Everyone was showing off their Christmas trees .... here's ours:

Lovely!

I am beyond frustrated right now!

Oh, Lessa, what a pain. I hope it all works out EASILY - I'm sure it will work out.

:confused3 ANYBODY ??? :confused3 ANYBODY AT ALL....:confused3

Yep, I was gone, but I saw them asking for you!

Other than that, I do have some good news. The MIL came home today.

Great, but definitely follow up!

******************************************
D's home, so we're watching some shows. See you all later - I'll definitely check in tomorrow! :grouphug:

We're headed up to Fort Wayne tomorrow to do Christmas with my side of the family. We're going to my brother's house. Should be a good time. There will be 19 of us.

Have fun!

BTW, Janet, my dad is a Blackhawks fan, not me. My loyalties remain with my beloved Red Wings!

Well then, that's okay;) I;m a hug Stevie Y fan:thumbsup2

. When are we revealing our Secret Santas???

I think SLate was going to do it tomorrow????:confused3

D's home, so we're watching some shows. See you all later - I'll definitely check in tomorrow! :grouphug:

HAve a good night!

=========================================================

SInce I last checked in I finished the :laundy: . It's not put away, but it is folded..I'll put it away tomorrow! I boiled the potatoes and the eggs for the potato salad. I boiled the macaroni for the macaroni salad. I chopped onions. I washed all the pots I used and now the dishwasher is running.

Tomorrow when I get up I will make the potato salad and macaroni salad (They are for Christmas Day), prep the green bean casserole, bread and prep all the fish for tomorrow's dinner. Jim and Jimmy will slice down the strawberries and run to the store for the things that I know I forgot, but won't realize I forgot until tomorrow:sad2:

We just returned from the theater. We brought the kids to see Peef The Christmas bear. Anyone have that book? It is written and illustrated by Minnesotan's. The illustrator is also the same as the book, "The Next Place". Which I just bought for Emilie and family. I am bringing my children to see Santa at the Mall of America tomorrow AM and plan on leaving some gifts on Emilie and Steve's door step. I wish I knew what else I can do for them.

Thank you again for all of your kindness
________________

I love all of the pictures Brack, Z and Angela! Peaking into others homes is super fun!

Jo- Get some rest, there is NO time for being ill!

Mel- You handled the postwoman well. I can't say I could have walked away on that one.:headache:

CE- Yea for D being home!

Katt- I like your ornament. :yay:

Jen- I'm glad you got home safe!

brack- Did Santa already come to your house? Don't tell my ds!

/
I'm up late. I can't sleep.

As normal Kat I can't see your photos, I'll try later!
I can't believe it's Christmas Eve tomorrow, where has the time gone?

WTH!? I said the same thing today, this year flew by!

Kat- Those cookies look like fun, but a lot of work. The party pictures where a hoot. Made me want to run downstairs and boil some eggs for deviled eggs!

Can you belive my friend Luis has never had deviled eggs before? He liked them tho! I put some chopped up chorizo in 'em too!

I have to go pick up my mail at the PO. Yeah, you read that right. Because they haven't plowed the 15 inches or so of snow YET from a week ago, the mailman WONT drive through our subdivision. I haven't gotten mail since last THURSDAY. WTH?????????????? Do I live in Guatemala??? Seriously. :confused3

The good news is that my sis got her package so at least it made it for Xmas. It only took 9 days to go from Mi to Mass via Priority mail!!! Wow, you go PO, that's some FAST service, eh???? Argh.

The PO is a big PITA! I got a notice for 2 packages I was waiting for because the reg guy wasnt in and the lazy replacement wouldnt bring it to me. I had to trapse over there just for a gift for my cousin that should have been delivered to me!

I just got dressed and am about to head out. :lmao: I wouldn't be in such a hurry to go to Target, but they have a Starbucks there. :cloud9:

Be back soon. ;)

I ahve been dying for a Gingerbread Latte for a week, I think I may finally get it tomorrow! What is your starbucks drink of choice??

I need a breakfast recipe. We usually just get danishes from the bakery, but I am thinking of baking something this year. Mel? Kat? Angela? Anybody? I need easy, bake ahead, and sugary.

Apparently I missed the boat on this one, and am stealing Jodi's recipe!

I'm making Oven French Toast.

Holy Moley that sounds friggin awesome!

Miss me? :goodvibes

It was a loooooong day today! I was up early (GASP!) and out to the PO and then back to the house then back out to the bus. I met a girlfriend for lunch and shopping. We ended up staying out for like 5 hours unintentionally. it was a nice day tho, much needed girl time! I got a last gift for KC and some stocking stuffers and a cat bed for Bale.

Then I found out KC was working from home 6-10pm tonight so I wrapped the rest of our stuff and got everything ready fr the next few days. I also dyed my hair (the roots anyways) and did my nails.

Now I am just TIRED. Tomorrow I am leaving early and picking KC up at work and going to his boss' for the Eve, then in the AM we are getting up and going to Long Island. SO chances are you won't see me until after the holiday!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

\HOw is your sister making out Mel!

I still have a TON to do and so little time:sad2:

Talked with her dh yesterday. He said they haven't heard anything from the insurance co. yet!! It's been two weeks since the storm that brought down the trees (maybe more?) and he said they were going to call. She's been working as many shifts as they can get her at the hospital. I think they're ok. Thanks for asking, Janet!

You did ALOT yesterday! Whew!

Love all the decorations, especially these...

I am beyond frustrated right now!

How frustrating, Lessa! Hope it works out.

All in the span of 3 1/2 hours. But, we're home. Safe and sound!

Dude, that weather was NUTS. Glad you're home safe!

OMG!! That's so nice of you Mel! Heck I know if Yani were here she'd say I'll sleep on the floor. Yes the SSR 2 BR is very nice. I still have dreams of it from our trip last June. :cloud9:

Seriously, I know Bob would agree. We can make room for a night!

Mel one of those plushes in the basket looks like your avatar!

It is! It is! It's Opus! Who's the Bloom County fan, Brack!!!????

Is the economy getting better and I don't know about it? :confused3 Because people were coming out of the stores with bags upon bags.

Here too! It was crazy busy, even at the grocery store. I am NOT leaving the house today. No matter what happens....

Ooh, and I loved your tree and village!!

Oooh Oooh Oooh I DID FIND SOMETHING that is making me relax a bit... Some bath Salts that have "eucalyptus and Spearmint in it" .. It's a Stress reliever sold at "Bath and Body Works"... This stuff is INCREDIBLE.. add in a cappuccino or two.. :rolleyes1 and I don't care what is going on in my life for a few hours. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.. It smells a little weird and sounds weirder.. but I promise you will LOVE IT.
I have it, and I love it!!

I LOVE IT ....It's RED.. which is really my FAVORITE COLOR.

Mine too!

Can someone pass the Mommy of the Year award over here?? I'm ready to find a job just so that I can put my kids in daycare during break!!!!!!! All they've done all day is fight with each other. So, when they started fighting over who should pick up what thing, I told them to grab what belonged to them and go to bed. Period. I'm done listening to them bicker constantly.

Dude, totally normal. They DO IT to make you crazy....(that's what I think anyway....LOL)

We're headed up to Fort Wayne tomorrow to do Christmas with my side of the family. We're going to my brother's house. Should be a good time. There will be 19 of us.

Have fun, Jodi! Be careful out there.

Mel, I'm sorry.

Thanks, CE. I'm over it.....LOL. Sorta.....:rotfl2:

My parents couldn't figure out what to do with her, so she's coming with them. They are driving. At first they said they'd be here Sunday. Suddenly, it might be Friday. I'm not going to be ready, and D wants to go skiing.

Welcome to my world....DH's parents do this all the time. They don't like to narrow down their arrival to say under 3 days....
Hope the visit is good though!

Slow down, Janet. You're gonna burn out.... :worship:

Mel- You handled the postwoman well. I can't say I could have walked away on that one.:headache:

Thanks Jen. Well, I won't say that I didn't give her heck in my head...LOL.

I am so sorry about your friend. She is blessed to have you in her life. :goodvibes

The PO is a big PITA! I got a notice for 2 packages I was waiting for because the reg guy wasnt in and the lazy replacement wouldnt bring it to me. I had to trapse over there just for a gift for my cousin that should have been delivered to me!

Oh, good. It's not just MY mailperson. :rotfl:

I ahve been dying for a Gingerbread Latte for a week, I think I may finally get it tomorrow! What is your starbucks drink of choice??

:thumbsup2 Grande Soy Double Vanilla Latte :thumbsup2

Much much love to all my focker friends and their families. You all have made this holiday bearable for me, the cards made my day!

Ditto that, here. It's so nice to have you all as friends!

Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone has a safe Christmas Eve! :santa:

8888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888

I got cards from:
TE, Z, JenV, Jodi, Gluv, and Rachel yesterday! That's one good thing about the mail lady HORDING all my mail...LOL.
I am newly angry at the PO today though. My BIL in NJ sent out an EXPRESS envelope which was GUARANTEED delivery yesterday and we never got it! They are supposed to deliver that to your door! So, now it's not here and I don't know if it will arrive in time for Xmas. He was so mad, he said he was going to demand his $$ back. LOL!!!

OH well. Stupid PO.

Bob is home today! Yay! He is supposed to work, but he can do that from home today. The boys are so excited! I wrapped all the gifts that I bought so I'm good there. The only thing we have to do today is pick up Gus' snowboard (which is in at the boarding shop, finally!!) He is getting it on Xmas, which he DOES NOT expect. SD's guitar will be there too, though he didn't expect that either! Go us! (mind you, they still have to pay over 300 dollars each to me for their part of the items, but they'll have them for xmas at least).

I made Cranberry bread yesterday and it came out delish! I think this morning I'll make some eggs for the boys. They've been wanting BIG breakfast all week since they got out of school. :cool1: It's supposed to ice and rain and sleet here (Jodi's storm...) so hopefully I can get Bob out to the snowboard shop early!

Happy Xmas Eve everyone. (and happy 3rd day of Hanukkah, I think...)

I'll be around!

MEL:banana:

Good morning, everyone! Just a quick drive by before we leave for Fort Wayne. Haven't checked the weather up there yet, but down here it's pretty balmy. I just took the trash can out to the curb (when I heard the truck down the street!!!:scared1: ) and all the ice on the driveway was gone. It must be well into the 40s here as I didn't really feel cold at all.

DH came home last night with a fever and the chills. I'm a bit worried he won't make it to Christmas Eve at my brother's today, but I just felt his head and it didn't feel hot at all. Maybe he'll be okay to go. :lovestruc

Well, I'd better get to work. I've got to bring baked beans to my brother's (not my choice) and I wanted to put some bacon in them. So, I'm off to fry up some bacon (or microwave it). And then I've got to bathe the kids so that they smell good for Christmas!:rotfl:

Have a Wonderful Christmas Everyone!!!!

Hi Jodi  is Eric still sick ??

Merry Christmas Fockers

S'late... Jim Cantore just announced your city as the "Pick City of the Day" on the Today Show.. 65 degrees...:woohoo:

So is it a SLOW DAY or a BUSY DAY for every one..

Good morning Fockers! Forgive me for jumping right in without replying to the last few pages? :flower3: I've read, though, and have many, many hugs to go around dear friends. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'll admit, I've been more than a little melancholy the past few days. Partly because of Leo's absence, but also because that's just how I get this time of year. Gramma's been a holiday downer as long as I've been alive; she just isn't into the celebrating at all, which puts a major damper on things for me. Honest, the best Xmas I ever had was the one I spent alone! I was in Buff., with no family left there, and was told to take the day off from work, since I'd already worked Thanksgiving and would be working NYE. I bought a tree in a snowstorm on my way home Xmas Eve and decorated it that night. Next morning, my roomates and I opened gifts before they went to their families. I stayed home, watching movies I loved and eating the best pizza in the world (La Nova Pizzeria, in case you're wondering ;) ). Really, it was wonderful!

Oops, I rambled. Sorry!

Anyway, tonight we'll be eating amazing food from a little Italian place around the corner and in a little more than 24 hours, Leo will be home and my Xmas will be complete. :goodvibes

and D wants to go skiing.

He shouldn't have to go far! ;)

And she's off again!

and plan on leaving some gifts on Emilie and Steve's door step. I wish I knew what else I can do for them.

Being a good friend to her means a lot.

I think I`ve got most everyones Christmas Cards! :santa: I got TEs today. it said to my #1 chicken friend from your #1 goat friend.

Should I worry because this sounds wonderful! ;)

S L O W. It's really only been 38 minutes since I got to work??? :faint:

How long do you have to work? :confused3

I have to go pick up a bookshelf I got for Mitch from a friend who is storing it for me and then my BIL decided he would like me to make an apple pie. Not my specialty but I'll manage. If I get around to it, I have some ironing to do but that's about all. Exciting, huh? Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah to all my dear Focker friends. I love you all! :grouphug:

Hi V! I hear you about the Xmas downer.

My mom doesn't even put up a tree anymore. Sad! :sad2: I love being a mom and spending Xmas with my boys but I have a special place in my heart for the Xmas's that it was Bob and I were all alone FAR away from our families. :goodvibes

I hope the remaining time until Leo is home goes by FAST! :lovestruc
