I received my secret santa gift today and I am thrilled !! I have had a very sad day I just heard today that my best friend growing up in England died of Cancer last month! Another old friend sent me a Christmas card and in it was the obituary, she thought I knew !!I have spent most of the day in tears and once again it was my dear Focker Friends wholifted my spirits !!

Former ballerina here - Discount Dance rocks! I shudder to think what the total outlay was for my ballet career. It wasn't too bad until the last few years, when I'd go through a pair of pointe shoes per month. And had I continued on to make it my profession, we'd be talking a new pair per performance!

it's not cheap, that's for sure. I just bought Baylie some really cute boyshorts cut dance shorts. Everyone wears those tiny bootie shorts and I wanted soemthing a little more modest. They're perfect.

Don't like those skimpy things at all. Of Course CHURCH Dancers... None of that.. not even shorts

They have clothes, and cute gifts, too. They send out deals all the time. I think they have one now if you want me to forward it to you.

Yes when you get an good deal just send it my way... may not need it.. but ya never know.

Yeah !!! I usually make my own cards... been doing it for years.

I have a keyboard (I want a piano, but...) and I keep my flute out, too - but just at home. My mom still loans out my trombone to local high school kids. I haven't played tuba or sax in years.

I have a GREAT Keyboard.. a Yamaha Motif 6. Great touch feels much like a piano.. but still I do also have a VERY OLD Studio with the workings inside of a Baby Grand. Made by Baldwin in 1924 Oct-Dec. Cherry Wood. It's incredible. I need to tune it.. but I can not locate my tuning key

Yep - the biggest companies sometimes pay for shoes, but the smaller ones don't. It adds up FAST! My feet look surprisingly good, considering the abuse they took. But they're a mess physically from all those dancing years. You don't want to know me on a cold, damp day.

Mailing in the morning! Whoo Hoo! I have coffee with a girlfriend EARLY, so I won't be around for a bit. Then I'll be home but I'm baking more cookies. I have to run out to the post office later on before I pick up SD too. So, busy day tomorrow.

Bob is working from home tomorrow so we'll see how much I actually accomplish!

Boys are on their way upstairs to watch Xmas specials and have cookies so I'm outta here for now. I want a shower first! You guys be good.

Jen - Are you filling in for your friend with the sick wife again? How is she doing?

He came in to work this morning just to leave me the stuff for final reviews. Night school finals are tomorrow, day school are Wed. and Thurs. He had nothing prepared yet.

They have been married 40 years.

His wife is still in ICU, where they say she'll stay for another 10 days or so.

Since she had a brain stem stroke, the symptoms are a mixed bag.

Yes, she has difficulty with speech, although her comprehension seems to be fairly intact. She has a left sided facial droop and no control of her left eye. Vision is very poor as well. BUT, she has a right-sided paralysis below the neck.

They don't know how she'll heal. They say her teaching career (she's been teaching for over 30 years) is over. They will be sending her to rehab after she's out of ICU.

Mr. C was in tears this morning. Poor man. He loves her so much. And they've said she'll never be the same.

Hi girls!

Long time, no see!! Hope everyone's well. Things have been kind of crazy here. Taking a break from on-line Christmas shopping (yep...still not done ), whilst hiding from...my mother . She's here for - gulp - (only) 28 more days...She's been busy over-mothering me and generally driving me nuts . Already.

And she's only been here for 5 days.

And I was out of town for 3 of them

Ok, off to catch up on my email and order a few more gifts . This is horrible. I'm usually done shopping and wrapped by Thanksgiving weekend every year and this year...out of control.

Picking up my Christmas cards today - hopefully I can mail 'em by tomorrow and have all my gifts wrapped and shipped out in a few days (of course everything has to be shipped far away - one of the curses of traveling for your job). I really can't figure out where the time has gone!

Have a great day everyone...miss you all but wanted to stop by and at least show myself and not just read a couple of pages here and there.

LL!!!! Great to see you, Girl! I totally hear you on the mom thing. My mom visits four times a year! Thankfully, only for a few days at a time.
I'm way behind too. We have to ship everything to everyone and it's such a PITA! Do I order from Target and have it shipped here, then wrap and ship out myself? TWICE the shipping! Or do I have them wrap it? $4 more to do that! OMG.

Hope to actually "see" you sometime again in the future! Are you going to be in the world in January???

Where is everyone!?

I'm up, showered, and ready to go! You guys need to wake up! LOL.

Today I am meeting my friend, Kathy, for coffee. I haven't seen her in a while so I am really looking forward to that. After coffee, I will mail my cards. Then a trip to Best Buy to pick up a DVD for my BIL, a gift card for BIL too, then a quick stop by BabiesRUs to see if I can find a gift for my nephew, Nate.

Oh, while I'm thinking of it, my sister is back home. They are there for now, the electricity and heat are back on so they can start drying out. She said they can't use the upstairs but that's fine. The kids are bunking downstairs for now. I will talk more with her later today. That was all through texting so not too detailed.

The boys are taking me out to dinner on Thursday for a Bday REDO! YAY! Bob said that he wasn't going to leave my birthday the way it WAS. He's so sweet.

Ok, gotta go wake Gus up for school. That's always an adventure.
