I've been somewhat absent from the Dis for a while due to finishing college and all that... uh... fun... yeah... fun....???

Anyway, I've been looking for the Fockers for days now and I'm so glad to have finally found you all again! :cloud9:

HEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad to see you! :goodvibes So, you finished? How are things?

It's on the Green channel (I know, a republican watching the GREEN channel? I like it:confused3 )

Hmmm.... Maybe some of us are rubbing off... :rotfl: ;)

Good plan! Hope you're ALL feeling good today, though!

Thanks, so far, so good. ;) Good luck at the grocery store! :goodvibes

TGood morning everyone. I came home from work early on Friday, got in bed at 3:30 and slept (except for bathroom runs and drinks of water) until 8:00am THIS MORNING :faint: We are all sick. Jimmy's got all kinds of interesting things coming out of his nose (TMI? Sorry:sick: ) I'm going to keep him home from school tomorrow and maybe on Tuesday. Hopefully I can get him in to see the doctor tomorrow in the am.

Oh, honey, I am sorry.

Rachel - lovely house! :thumbsup2

Hi, everyone!

Well, as I said, so far, so good on the sick kid. He's had some breakfast and nothing bad has happened. I have my clothes and the kids' packed, and the non-refrigerated food (and yes, the spices. I am much calmer. ;) )The boys are picking movies now. I'll still need them to pack their backpacks with toys and books, but we're getting there. We're supposed to be leaving after lunch. The weather, of course, may make things iffy, but we'll work it out.

The house's website says nothing about internet access, but I'm going to take the laptop anyway. But I may only be able to jump on at the ski resort (which has it) if I quit first as usual, etc. But I may really be MIA, because that could get hard to work out.

Of course, maybe I'll be surprised by internet at the house. We'll still be busy, but...

The big issue for me not having it is that I can start the reviews for the Kindle thing tomorrow, but I read those online, so... I have 2 weeks, but losing 4 days will make it more of a challenge. I should still be fine, but...

Well, I need to get off my duff and actually get to getting the little things together.

If I don't manage to log on, I hope everyone has a healthy and happy week. I'll miss you! :grouphug:

Oh, yeah, we'll probably be on a new thread by Monday. Somebody leave me a trail, OK? :) Thanks!

Jen- I can't send emails from this computer, so to answer your email... No hurry! Get it here when you can, you have a lot on your plate. We still ahve 3 weeks. Yikes! 3 weeks and I haven't told the kids! :rotfl2:

Thanks darlin'. It's on its way.

And when are ya' gonna tell those kidlets? :confused:

Jen and Jon, :hug: Wow Jen! your really going through some crap stuff. you are one of the strongest (if not THE strongest) women I know. you can handle it, and your doing a terrific job of it and making a great life for you and Jon. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today is cleaning day. Ugh. But, since we were outta town last weekend it didn't get done. :scared:
Jon has now been in bed since Friday night. He's hurting...and that's what kills me.
His ped called yesterday and we have to go into the ped first thing in the morning for more tests. They'll be looking at his heart more closely to ensure that the rheumatic fever has left no damage. And we'll have periodic check-ups over the next several months to check. :sad2:
I crashed OUT last night. The earliest I've gone to bed in a loooong time. :teeth:
:hug: all around. Hope everyone has a happy, healthy, lovely day. And I hope all of our sickies get better.
Hey Jen, :hugs: for Jon. Make sure you keep us posted and you are both in my thoughts!:hug: :hug:
We got Disney maps in the mail yesterday (The one's you can order free from the website) and Jimmy and I have spent the morning talking about our trip and what rides he wants to do! :goodvibes Jim is doing this:sad2: When Jimmy asks him if he likes a ride or show, Jim says he will decide when we get there:eek:
I am feeling much better and Jimmy doesn't have a fever, but he still is really stuffy! I'm still going to keep him home tomorrow so that I can take him to the doctor, just to make sure it's not anything more than a bad cold.
Good Sunday morning! :goodvibes
Hubby is taking the kids skiing today and I am going to clean my house and try to edit pictures and upload to Costco. I have another scrapbooking weekend next weekend. One of the people going with me and I were going to scrap Disney, but she doesn't want to yet. Problem is, I can't make the next retreat because of TINK's dance recital, so I may just have to scrap Disney without her. :confused3
This is zoomed. wow!
So cute, did they have fun?
Oh, yeah. Our friends, John & Deb, whom we do all the holidays with and so forth, had rented a house near a ski area in Maine with friends of theirs from their DD7's school. That first house had a furnace explosion or pipes burst or something, so the rental agency fixed them up with another place at the same price. The new place has room for us, and so it's really reasonable for a 3-way split (as they were meaning to do it half-and-half anyway) and then we got discount lift tickets for the ski area. All in all, it's a very cheapish way to ski for several days over the break, but it was all kind of last minute and so forth. Oh well. We're supposed to leave tomorrow afternoon and get back Thursday, but there's more on that below...
Sounds fun CE!!!
Yes! He's just SO excited about the bunny, he hasn't thought of it yet! LOL. He will though. Unfortunately, we only got 2 inches. Maybe less....
That's good for Gus, hope you get the bunny safely!
I forgot- two good things...
I got my Disney tags and coupons today! :banana:
And, at dinner, my SIL told us she's pregnant! :yay:
Wooohooo and congrats :goodvibes
I would love to come Columbus Day, but that would make 4 trips this year and don't think I could even justify that. But I am definately in for FF next year.
Well as stated I have been down with whatever has been going around, feel somewhat decent today and even managed to get my taxes done thanks to Turbo Tax. Yeah, getting a refund from fed and state!:woohoo: Just hanging on the couch the rest of the day, getting ready to watch the red carpet, I love to see the dresses and jewelry.
OK, I am going to get another installment of my mini trip report for ya.
Day 2 continued
I had an ADR at Plaza that night thinking I would stay for Spectro and Wishes. Well, when I got to MK and saw the crowds I knew I wouldn’t be staying long, too many cheerleaders still around. I thought I could get a FP for JC for a night time cruise. But they weren’t available and the line was crazy. It was close to my ADR time so I just went over to check in and they were actually taking walk ups. So while the parks were more crowded then the same time last year, I don’t think people are spending as much when there. I got to have my tuna on croissant and chocolate shake that I missed out on last year thanks to Kelly (remember she had to have mac n cheese, that I ended up eating:rolleyes1 ). The sandwich was good (not as good as the magic tuna though) and the shake was wonderful, but they give you soooo much.
With that I decided to try and walk off a bit of the dinner I just had and really just wandered around and taking in the sights. I didn’t ride anything as the lines were just to long but it felt good to walk off some of that shake. I spent some time in the Christmas shop, may buy a couple of things in September. I did wander over to the art store on Main Street and they had a copy of the Thomas Kincaide painting about 8.5 x 11 I think. I bought one and will get a frame around here. Last year they only had the giant size one and the postcard size one.
The crowds were so much heavier than anything I’m used to so I decided to call it an early night again and head back to the BW.
Yay Mo!!! You're gearing me up for my trippie in a few weeks!! :banana:
And feel better, babe. :hug:
Day 3 - in its entirety
Another breakfast in the room and off to MK for rope drop. I called valet to have the car brought around and arrived via the monorail about 10 minutes prior to that little show they do. I headed off to ride SM one more time before the rehab and then proceeded to do BUZZ, CoP and TTA. I headed over to Adventureland and hit JC and Pirates. I need to tell you about an idiot who was walking through the queue area behind making these noises that were obviously scaring other people’s kids. Think he cared, nope. Luckily he was not put in my boat. After that I wandered over and hit BTMRR and then off to HM. Crowds weren’t bad since I got all that done by lunch. By now I was getting hungry and nothing in MK was appealing to me today. I remembered our very own V talking about some yummy grilled cheese over at the Poly. So I hopped on the resort monorail and headed to Captain Cook’s. V, I owe you for this:worship: , OMG it was dee-lish! And those yummy chips that came with it too. I grabbed a table outside and just enjoyed my surroundings while devouring that grilled cheese. On my way out I noticed the desert case and got myself a giant chocolate chip cookie to eat on my way out to the MK parking lot, which wasn’t a far walk since I had gotten a pretty good parking spot earlier that morning.
Realizing I should rest my feet some more I headed back to BWV and napped (and I think read some of my book). For dinner that night I headed over to BC and Cape May Café. It has been a good 10 years I think since I was last here for dinner. Now, I did like it but I don’t know if it was worth $30. I can get better and fresher seafood around here, they did have some yummy desserts though. What I didn’t understand is, they open at 5:30, I had a 5:45 ADR and couldn’t get seated until after 6. How do you get that far behind 15 minutes after opening? It wasn’t a bad wait, wandered the BC marketplace then found a bench to people watch. After dinner I headed over to WS and just wandered around, got a bracelet in Morocco for someone that works for me (OK I got one for myself too) who really stepped it up during year end and then I stayed for Illuminations.
Just a warning, next update, really rude CM story coming
