Just home from work and catching up on th Dis !!Jdy says Pittsburgh won !!I was busy passing meds so have no idea !!I updated my PTR !!!!Hint Hint!!!

Good afternoon everyone! I know I gave a "blanket" thank you for all the welcomes last night, but I figured since everyone was so nice to welcome me, I thought I'd add a more personal touch!
Have a nice night everyone!! And thanks again for the warm welcome!!

Hola! I'm Kat. 32, SAHW. I have but on baby-my fur baby, Bale. I live in Brooklyn but go into NYC at least a few times a week. I am the cooker/baker of the group, I love me some recipes! BTW I am a HUGE tiki room fan, but not the new one- the original all the way!! Welcome!

Number of times Bob disappeared from sight ala Waldo: 5
Number of times I actually kept walking DESPITE the fact that I knew we had lost him: 2

:rotfl2: Wow. Welcome home, so glad you guys had such a wonderful trip! You deserved every minute of it!

And one week from today I will in my happy place:cool1: have I mentioned how badly I need to get away!!!!!!!!!

You deserve that vacation lady! it'll be here in no time!

We enjoyed the show. I just loved looking over at C's face while she watched it. :goodvibes

So glad she liked it!!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Evening everyone. I have been sleeping like a vampire again. SO I only just now really got on the pc today. I didn't do too much. We watched "Righteous Kill" today - great movie! Then we did a bit of shopping and went to starbucks for a bit to relax. KC is gaming and I'm trying to catch up with everything on here and then its off to read in hopes of getting some darn sleep!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Hey self... page 119.

So, I'm headed to bed... just a driveby post.

I've got to volunteer in DD7's class in the morning and then work for the gym teacher during lunch, manning the penny wars jars. They're raising money for the American Heart Association doing Jump Rope for Heart.

Basically, I may be able to check in after my workout at the Y in the late afternoon. Please don't be too chatty! :rotfl2: Yeah, like that's going to happen....:confused3

First...I hope you start feelin' a bit better. ::yes:: No fun to be sick.

And yes, that is Jon, my DS. For his 11th birthday, we took him to the Main Street Barber and they duded up his hair like that.

I love that picture. :)

Thanks - It's really not fun when being sick drags on for weeks...weird, but as the days go by I'm not feeling any better, worse actually. :confused3

Wow that's even more awesome that your DS had that done on Main Street. I love it.

Thanks, I'm the English one of the group and on the Disney Moms Panel, I have 2 girls aged 10 & 12 and a PGA golf pro hubbie called David. I play loads of golf and bore everyone with the details :rotfl2:

Hi Jo! Golf, huh? (LOL I just watched Happy Gilmore twice the other night - love that movie and esp. Adam Sandler) Well as for me, I can't even handle miniature golf...I'm definitely not cut out to be a golfer!

Oh, threatening rodents...you are going to fit in just fine here ::yes:::rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LOL! This winter has been unrelenting...every few days it snows. I'm a big chicken about driving on snow and ice and even more scared of what the other drivers will do on the road. I had the evening news on earlier and an anchorwoman was chatting with the weather guy and they were talking about Phil coming out of his hole tomorrow and the weather guy said, unfortunately we are having more winter, so that's what the groundhog will predict - to which the anchorwoman says, then lets just shove him back down the hole! It seems everyone wants to hurt the groundhog this year.

Roberta- :welcome: Hope you're feeling better soon! I'm dad to three great kids! One of whom has been sick with a fever the last several days, although yesterday and today its been pretty low grade. Since my work schedule is more flexible than Jenny's (DW), I've been working from home with limited success. I'm an attorney, but please try not to hold that against me.

Hi!! And thanks and I hope whichever one of your kids is sick, they get better soon, too! Nah, attorney's are good people, at least any of them that I'm friends with. So, what's the difference between an attorney and a lawyer? Do you use that old joke about becoming an attorney cuz you can't do math?? LOL

I've noticed you're from Atlanta, GA .... ahhhh I miss Atlanta. I spent some time down there in the 90s and I really miss it. I used to hang around Buckhead...got addicted to the Buckhead Bread Company's bagel balls and also Carabou coffee, oh and the honey biscuits from Church's...used to hang at Taco Mac and I'm still a HUGE Braves fan. I still have a piece of wall I took from the ruins of the old Fulton County Stadium when they were tearing it down.

I apologize to the new member, I'm Mo, single mom to 2 pugs and big sister to a 3rd. I live in North NJ near NYC.

Hi Mo! Nice to meet you! I think I'm the new member you're referring to!! One of my neighbors has a pug and he's just adorable!

Wanted to say welcome to the newcomers. I'm Lessa, I'm 25 making me the youngest of this group and I am also the Canadian rep for the Fockers. ;) I am single but have a great and entertaining family, I think my outrageous brothers must scare all potential boyfriends away. :lmao:

Hi Lessa! I'm one of the newcomers. Wow you're not much older than my DS...he'll be 24 in June. Any plans to travel to CT?!

No, strictly a company jet - even the bigwigs' wives have to get special permission to travel. Luckily they are strict, frankly, because it keeps the department aboveboard and ongoing, if you KWIM. ;)

I love Portsmouth - we're not too far away. :thumbsup2

Yep! I know what ya mean, especially since the first thing I was thinking was...cooooool her DH is a corp. pilot....maybe she gets to fly all over the place whenever she wants!! LOL

No, not at all. Roberta threatend the groundhog earlier. It's what we do:lmao:

OMG I couldn't stop laughing at the koala being punched, especially because his/her coffee was spilling out of the cup, too. :lmao: I can just picture the groundhog tomorrow morning coming out of his hole, seeing his shadow and being punched.

Hola! I'm Kat. 32, SAHW. I have but on baby-my fur baby, Bale. I live in Brooklyn but go into NYC at least a few times a week. I am the cooker/baker of the group, I love me some recipes! BTW I am a HUGE tiki room fan, but not the new one- the original all the way!! Welcome! [/COLOR]

Hi Kat! I love going to NYC - fun city!! I share your love of baking, but not so much cooking. The DF does all the cooking. I am recovering from my annual Christmas cookie frenzy - during which I literally bake thousands of Christmas cookies for family, friends and co-workers. It's a ton of work and is exhausting, but I still enjoy it for some reason. Mrs. Field's ain't got nothin' on me!!

I totally agree with you - the old original Tiki Room is the one I like, too. I go and see the show every time I'm at MK, but it's just not the same as the original. I do have the original on CD, though. I know it by heart.

Is anyone here into watching Ghost Hunters?

Have a great week everyone!! :)

Hey Fockers! Crazy couple of days so haven't had much of a chance to be on. Welcome to all newbies. I'm Lori, newly single mom to 2 munchkins and soon to be college student.

I had a few pages to catch up on but nothing was retained. I have to put my puppy to sleep tomorrow morning/afternoon. My dad or brother are actually taking her because I just can't do it. She was my first baby. The ex and I got her right after we told my parents he and I had eloped. But she has gotten really sick over these last few weeks. Hairs gone missing, she's lost a lot of weight and gotten so skinny and her one ear has ballooned up. I thought maybe it was infected and swollen but I think maybe its a tumor. She's just not doing good so I think its just time. I'm hoping with all hopes that when she goes into the vets tomorrow that they will say its something fixable but I think that is just wishful thinking.

The kids are finally back in school tomorrow. WooHoo! 4 days off last week because of snow just about killed me! Now they are predicting snow for Monday night and my cousin was saying possibly up to 36". :sad2: I'm with whoever said they wanted to beat up the groundhog if he saw his shadow. I don't live to far from Punxatony (or however you spell it)...about an hour and a half away. I believe its right outside of Pittsburgh.

Night everyone! And hey...the STEELERS won!!! I have pics from our party and will probably post on FB. Night

Oh and I know I'm late but I think I got ya on FB in time but,

pixiedust: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!!!
pixiedust:

Can I exchange my DH? I want a new model!
:rotfl2: Sure you can. I think it's called divorce though.

Hi guys!!

To everybody else - Big hugs!!

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Saw the movie "Taken" on Saturday. Pretty good. The theaters were packed.

Met friends and family at the 9 Irish Brothers pub. Hey Mel, I had 3 Strongbows. :upsidedow Lets just say I had a blast.

Went to my brothers for Superbowl. They had a taco bar. Very tasty. Doug and I don't follow football. I do like the commercials. We were having a good time. I didn't realize that Doug was doing his chemo pills this week. I had asked him if he wanted to do this party. He said yeah. We had to leave at 9:00 so he could take his pills and go to bed. :sad2: Whateva! Next time we do separate vehicles or he stays home.

I hope everybody has a good start this week.
Chat at ya' tomorrow night.

I made chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, mashed potatos and squash for dinner. The boys were all thrilled with a home-cooked meal. I hate cooking again, but it's nice to be appreciated after eating in resturaunts all week!
40 cloves :faint:

What a great birthday present for you! :goodvibes
And it's still snowing :yay::yay::yay:

I updated my PTR !!!!Hint Hint!!!
Will check it out :thumbsup2

I have to put my puppy to sleep tomorrow morning/afternoon. My dad or brother are actually taking her because I just can't do it.
I'm so sorry

Hope he's OK

Jessica's school is shut due to the snow but poor Ellie's isn't (her's is only just down the road Jess has a 40 minute bus ride) I know this is terrible but I think they should close Ellie's school, we literally only get this much snow about every 4-5 years and it only lasts a few days, just let the kids play!!!! Anyway it's still snowing so at least they'll be plenty once she gets out of school, it's forecast all day and to stay tomorrow too :thumbsup2 We walked to the supermarket this morning as we didn't want to take the car out and then Jess and David have been sledging. There is a bit of a hill near us but trouble is it's hardly got any snow on it as everyone goes there :rotfl2:

Jo, that's a tough one. Here, the whole system closes. So, if one closes, they all close.

Jo, that's a tough one. Here, the whole system closes. So, if one closes, they all close.
It's all up to the individual schools, as Ellie's is a primary school about 90% of the kids live within a 10 minute walk, it's just the teachers that have to travel. Whereas Jessica's probably has 90% of kids that are bused in so it's much harder for them to get in. Also because it's so rare we don't have to make up the day off like US schools do!

I'm sorry about your pooch, Lori. :grouphug:

EWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

******************************

Morning :goodvibes

That's all I've got.
:)

Great! First day back on the TFW and I blow it. Slate beat me to it.
I'm not first! I was awake, but the morning's been bumpy already! :confused3 SD's bus never showed up. He was out there from 6:45 to 7:15! The neighbor finally drove him and her daughter, thankfully.

Now I just have to get Gus out the door.

Today should be pretty relaxing. I plan on staying home all day! I have one load of laundry left (not too bad, since we had the washer and dryer at SSR) and then I have a bunch to put away. Bob's going to the office today to work. Tomorrow afternoon he leaves for Boston for the week. I think this is the last trip for until he goes to Disneyland the last week of February. :)

Lori, sorry to hear about your puppy. :grouphug:

And :welcome: to the new peeps!
I'm Mel, SAHM to two boys (16 in 9 days and 11) married to Bob (also known as NOTBOB and UNBOB) and I live in Michigan. I'm from Mass. originally and we lived in IL for four years in between. I'm the Official Visually Impaired Focker. I have lots of eye issues and am always recounting my appointments in gory detail....LOL. Glad you guys could come on board!
Jump right in. We're sort of harmless!

MEL:banana:

Hi Lessa! I'm one of the newcomers. Wow you're not much older than my DS...he'll be 24 in June. Any plans to travel to CT?!

 Are you rooting for a Disney wedding?

I have to put my puppy to sleep tomorrow morning/afternoon.

I'm so sorry Lori. Losing a pet is so hard.

Poor Ellie, that just seems really unfair! :sad2:

Hello Fockers!
Looks like Jo had a good snowy birthday! We're expecting some tomorrow. I got up to go to work, but Ab has a migraine so will wait and see how she is. She took Imitrex at 5 am but now she's jittery and nauseous.

Had a good time in Knoxville----CE--your inlaws were loads of fun and they want your boys to start cheering now! :rotfl2:
Both of her squads came in 2nd which they felt good about--they stuck all the stunts and were beat by REALLY good teams so they were happy with their scores.
Next trip is Myrtle in March!

So what' going on today??

Lori--so sorry about your puppy. I really know how you feel--it gets easier with time but you still remember--and eventually you remember all the happy times and not just the sick ones at the end.:grouphug:
Feel free to talk/post pictures--whatever you feel like.

Morning! And OMG, what a game! :faint: I was sort of rooting for the Steelers (us steel towns have to stick together - well, once the Bills were out of contention, anwyay ;) ), but would have liked to see Kurt Warner win, too. Those last few minutes were flipping amazing!!!

Back to business today. Blaaaahhhh.

Welcome back Mel!

Stay warm Jo!

Lori -I'm so sorry.

I know I'm missing lots, but that was all I retained after reading a bunch of pages so early! Forgive me? :flower3:

Hi!! And thanks and I hope whichever one of your kids is sick, they get better soon, too! Nah, attorney's are good people, at least any of them that I'm friends with. So, what's the difference between an attorney and a lawyer? Do you use that old joke about becoming an attorney cuz you can't do math?? LOL
DS6 is better thanks. Now DD11 has a sore throat. Jenny prepped at her job in case DS6 was still sick, so she's staying home today and taking the new sickie to the doctor. Strep has been going around their school, so better safe than sorry. Can't make the math joke. I'm in the patent area. In my former career, I was a computer science professor. I still build computers from spare parts with my kids as a hobby...Have I totally geeked you out yet? :rotfl:

I've noticed you're from Atlanta, GA .... ahhhh I miss Atlanta. I spent some time down there in the 90s and I really miss it. I used to hang around Buckhead...got addicted to the Buckhead Bread Company's bagel balls and also Carabou coffee, oh and the honey biscuits from Church's...used to hang at Taco Mac and I'm still a HUGE Braves fan. I still have a piece of wall I took from the ruins of the old Fulton County Stadium when they were tearing it down.
I'm still a Yankees and Giants fan going back to my NJ roots, although if neither is directly involved I'm all for the Braves and Falcons, even more so when the kids are around so that I do not taint them with my Jersey bias. :upsidedow

We're pretty much OTP (outside-the-perimeter) folks these days. Pre-kids and when I worked for bigger law firms downtown, I was much more often down in the Buckhead area. Now, we like a few miles from Perimeter Mall, and I have office space in one of the buildings across from the mall. The perimeter area has been built up a bit in the last few years. So, we've got a Taco Mac that's walking distance from the office. We've got a Caribou as well, but Starbucks is my preference on the latte front.

Have a great week everyone!! :)
You, too!

Same to you Kristel! :thumbsup2

Cool for Jess! My sympathies for Ellie. I'll have to admit our schools shut down if we even get an inch or so. Atlanta just isn't set up for any amount of snow. Of course, it happens pretty rarely.
-----------------------
As I mentioned, DS6 is back at school, but we've got DD11 home today. Thankfully, Jenny's able to stay home today.

I think I made a big enough dent in the work over the weekend that the client will be satisfied with the progress. He knows I have a small firm and that family issues can impact my work schedule, so he's generally pretty understanding. I just hate messing with expectations; I told him I would have it done by the end of last week.

Anyway, looks like I've sat long enough to quell the exercise induced nausea. So, time to get ready and head into the office.

I'll check in later. Have a great Monday! TTFN!

Good Morning Fockers. Not a good day here. DOn't know how much I will be checking in. I got into work at 8:55am and was informed that one of our supervisors dropped dead of a heart attack at 52 years old...in work:sad2: Place is in kind of a chaos right now. Will try and check back later.

I did see/read everyone's posts...just done't know how much I retained, so hugs for all who need them:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

 all around.

Hope everyone is okay. I skimmed but I feel like ****, so I have retained nothing.

Over night, Jon developed a healthy fear of the bully...again. Begging me not to send him to school. Breaks my heart. :guilty:

I've already spoken to the counselor this morning.

:sad2:

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
