Just back from bringing #1 to his Lego team. They have a competition on Saturday, and I've just about had it with his coach. If you don't WANT the kids to do well, why are you coaching? Ugh.

Did anyone see the news about the man who killed his whole family (wife + 5 children) because of financial problems? The family lives just a few cities over from us. It's such a sad, sad situation.

Haven't been able to watch any type of news yet but that is terrible!

I'm being a mean mom and forcing my kids to go outside and play in the snow! What can I say? I want some cute pics for my scrapbook!

I made mine go out and play in the slushy ice snow. They were not happy campers.

Luckily, mine wanted to go outside. I didn't think watching TV/playing computer games all day was a great plan. My neighbor & I decided on a two hour deal, then we get back in gear as it is a school night, after all.

I just shoveled the walkway, but it's coming down so fast that by the time I got down to the driveway and back (it's a slightly long walk) the stoop was already not clean anymore.

I'm looking at the radar, and the ice is creeping up on us. I think I have to wait until that quits to snowblow, even though I hate snowblowing the icy crap, because otherwise, it will ice directly onto a freshly blown driveway and that's no good. My driveway is long and steep in spots, so...

I think in the long run, I'm going to wait until after the kids go to bed. I might as well not worry about what they're doing while I'm outside for an hour.

I think you can choose the gift card or fast pass. They offered me both of those before they even saw my AP. She did have to scan the AP for it to go through and don't forget to bring his birth certificate with you.

That's cool! Unfortunately the way our birthdays fall we will never be able to take advantage of this.

That's another reason why we're going early August... Evan's b-day is the 1st.

According to my mom that is what will happen. SInce you already have tickets, he (you ) will get the choice of a magical fastpass (that is only good for 3 rides or something, not worth it to me) or a giftcard the equivilant of a one day ticket.

Whoo HOO!! I'll just let him pick out a birthday gift.

My birthday and Jim's birthday are before they are done school for the summer. Jimmy's birthday is on the day Jim goes back to start the new school year.

I have not done anything constructive this last 3 days off. Winter sux.

I'm already reading the last book of the Twilight series - Breaking Dawn. It is completely freaking me out. I loved #3, Eclipse. This last one is a bit hard to swallow, no pun intended.

I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks. Winter does suck, its hard to get motivated. I had a hard time with breaking Dawn too, the 2nd time I read it I liked it better tho.

Sunday morning, our neighbor called us to tell us our dog died. They fed her Saturday night and she was fine. He went to feed her Sunday morning and she was dead. She was old. I just hate that it happened while we were out of town.

No. I'm about to hobble downstairs and take advil. Maybe I can do heat on it when we get home.

Tonight our friend Pants is taking us out to dinner. A year ago today is when we all went to WDW together, so we are celebrating that with cuban food! YAY!

I didn't sleep very well (again) but I'm gonna venture out into the land of slush so we can reminisce about Disney.

Speaking of Disney I am thinking of trying to convince KC to plan a trip around F&W time, and just go for maybe 4 days. maybe even bring our friends. This way we can save up for it and if for some reason we don't have the $ by the trip we can cancel with no drama since its so far in advance.

Anyone know how long the stay for 4 get 3 days free thing is good for??Jo??

What happened?

She just says the meanest stuff...she's told them outright she doesn't want them to go beyond state because she doesn't want to have to go to Atlanta to the World Festival. She's been putting them down since August, telling them this won't work and that won't work, and now she's saying things like "if you survive the regional competition you are going to have to take ownership of the robot." As if they haven't been trying to do that all year and have been shot down time after time!

OMG, I have given no back story or information and I just set out on a rant. Sorry. My oldest is on a team that competes with NXTs, Lego's robotic system. Each year they have to do a research project and build and program a robot to run various missions on a table. And his coach puts the wicked Step-mother to shame.

The girls are out playing "Queen of the Snow Mountain" on the corner. The plows still haven't been through, so there's no going anywhere. I'm not sure the van would make it!

DD7's brownie meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow, so nothing to do tonight, except catch up on all the TV I've missed!

When we got back to our room, they left a birthday folder with an autographed photo of Mickey. The kids were so excited because they said that Mickey came to our room while we were gone.

We went to MGM yesterday and the crowds were everywhere, supposed to be a 4. However, we rode ToT 3 times in a row and TSM twice. and the weather was fab! But it's supposed to be 60 on Friday.

Hey Hey!

How's everybody doing this cold wintery day? It has been snowing non-stop all day, I have no plans to leave the house again until I have to go to work tomorrow night.

I am super excited as I just got off the phone and changed my May trip from Pop Century to the Animal Kingdom Lodge! They only had standard view available so I am hoping for an upgrade once we get there, if not standard view is okay as there are lots of viewing decks around to see the animals. I'm also excited as AKL has a gym so I can attempt to work out while on vacation, don't want my hopeful progress to be lost while in WDW.

Mel just called and she was sitting at the pool drinking at strawberry banana daquiri. Gus was swimming and Bob and SD were golfing. Later they were meeting up with Z.

We talked about parks and the T-Rex meeting. Janet- she said she would cancel the T-Rex. She said it was overwhelming to her boys and they are older.

We also talked about skiping Animal Kingdom altogether. Am I crazy for wanting to do that? Last time Kirt rode the big roller coasters while we shopped. Then we rode the Safari tour and met characters. That's it -by lunch, we left.
My thinking is that we have a really nice Zoo in San Antonio and good BBQ here, so maybe it's a waste of time and money. What do you guys think? I would be able to add a second day at DHS. Mel mentioned that just doing AI and LCMA tkaes half a day. Last time we didn't have time to do much at DHS and I wish we could have...

We skipped AK in January 2007. We were there for five days and had to go back for naps in the afternoons. The only thing we feel that we missed was the Nemo show and FOTLK. We have a great zoo here too. I wouldn't feel too bad skipping it, personally.
