Part of my roof blew off!!! I'm not kidding. We've had high winds all day and around 4PM we had a major blow-up. I thought we were in the middle of a tornado. It was very scary. I started seeing tree branches blowing and heard this huge bang. The wind knocked down part of our fence, wiped out our antenna, and tore off a bunch of shingles. Then the power went off.

I called the insurance and got a claim in. They didn't know when the adjuster would be out. I hope quickly. The tar paper is still down. I'm hoping there will be no leaks.

Doug is staying home tomorrow to better assess the roof and fix the fence. I'll try to get pics. What a mess!

Damn Kristel. Sending good thoughts your way, baby doll.

Stay safe, hon.

Kristel- OMG! The winds have been terrible up here for a few days. You must have been in the middle of some nasty pocket. Thank goodness you are alright.

I was logging on to tell you that my iphone just hit the DUST! Totally on no level of Kristel's problems! But, I dropped in in the parking lot of Tink's dance studio and it totally is turning on and off and on and off. The top is smashed in. Here comes the 3G for me! :worship:

Kristel sorry about your roof !

Oh, honey! I'm so sorry! House damage is so scary, even if it turns out OK. My thoughts are with you.

I was starting to think, "Oh, no!" but you sound not so upset. :rolleyes1 :) Enjoy the new one!

I want an iPhone. I'm eligible for the upgrade next month, but it's still probably more than I want to spend. :sad2:

OMG Kristel! I'm glad you're ok! Your poor roof!

We're supposed to get that storm tonight. Now I'm scared.

It's been howling here for the past few hours. I'm sure you're just about an hour ahead of us! We just got a new roof two years ago after the big hail storm, so I'm hoping we don't sustain any damage tonight. I think it's supposed to be bad (upwards of 60 mph) until 1am. I'm just hoping the power doesn't go out. It flickered once earlier this evening, but came right back on. Hopefully your insurance adjuster will be better than ours!

Janet - I'm off to finish watching Top Chef too and then go to bed. I've been fighting a sore throat for a few days and I want to wipe it out by hitting the sack early tonight.

Tomorrow, I've got to go pick up 83 cases of Girl Scout cookies and then sort them for the girls in our troop. Sounds fun, right?? Well, I've got extras, so let me know if anyone needs me to ship some out!

Glad you had a good work day Kat! I worked as a receptionist and hated it at first not knowing if I was sending the phone call to the right person or if I was going to lose their call. Ended up being a really great job though!

the phone system is weird too because there is no actual hold button just tranfer, it'll take some getting used to.

Sounds like another good day Kat. Unpaid training is strange though:confused3

Yep, but finally Friday I get paid.

Hmm, I get you feeling bad, but I guess it depends on why they're getting fired. If they're not doing their jobs, well...

Yea they are referred to as "dumb and dumber". I still wonder how they got hired in the first place. :confused3

HI Kat! Glad your second day went well. You'll get the hang of it really quick! Enjoy your relaxing!

I relaxed so hard I feel asleep!!! So much for that normal sleep!?

Umm Kat darling... that is pretty much illegal. Workers must be paid. Most states require training to be paid. Once you answered a phone you were not training... you were working.

Well it's owned by 2 guys (franchise) and I was told the first few hours of training would be unpaid. I really was only trained for about 4 hours and then observed and took a few calls today. Ig et what you're saying but when he told me to come in Friday he said to remember to punch in.

Dudes........
Part of my roof blew off!!! I'm not kidding.

Jeez! so sorry good luck with everything!!

***************

I got KC a new game today so he's about to play and I am about to finally answer some emails. Hope everyone's having a good night! It's off to the supermarket and Target tomorrow for us!

Glad you are all right. That must be some wind. It is blowing out here right now but nothing like that. Hope they get there fast to look it over.

Well I am getting packed. The bathing suites I got for Bug are to big. I got them at Wal-Mart and will just exchange them on the way down at one of our stops. Sears left the ink tag on a pair of my jeans and I will have to find a Sears on my way down also for that. I don't have good luck with ink tags. I have a camera bag that is going back to POP while we are down in WDW because it has the ink tag from last August. This is the trip of the ink tag. Hope everyone stays well while I am gone. I will stop in when I get back and let you all know about the pirate rooms and T-Rex.

Tell him to get over himself:rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am going to bed early! Tomorrow I am going to lie on the couch all day.

MEL:banana:

So glad SD had a good birthday! :goodvibes Lucky you relaxing on the couch...wish I could. Hopefully this weekend I will get to.

It's amazing what a little thumping and a paper clip can do !!!!:rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I was not privy to viewing these little buggers IRL last Dec., however a good friend as just returned from the world and has begun a collection. Anyone seen them? I guess they try to suck the money out of us any way they can!

Some of them are very cool looking but others :scared1: I really like the Kermit the Frog one though

Uh-oh...doesn't sound good but you don't sound so disappointed. LOL

Me too! I can hear the wind going outside right now and we are to get up to 60-70 MPH winds. It'll be interesting to see what happends come morning time.

Tomorrow, I've got to go pick up 83 cases of Girl Scout cookies and then sort them for the girls in our troop. Sounds fun, right?? Well, I've got extras, so let me know if anyone needs me to ship some out!

What kind of extras? We didn't order any this year so I might take ya up on this. I'll PM ya though.

Kristel - sorry to hear about the roof, but glad you are all okay.

Carrie - I'm so glad to hear that about your mother. That is such great news!

Oh man...that stinks about the ink tags. Have tons of fun though!

Just saw that about 2500 people in our county are with out power due the winds. And then another 4000+ in other counties are with out it. They said it won't get to us for another 1-1 1/2 hours and could last all the way into noon tomorrow. My one dog has gone MIA because of it and my cat is scared as well. I can hear the doggie door in our laundry room flapping every now and then so I may go and put the door down just in case.

Really? Even though it has her name on it?

::yes:: as long as it was mailed to your home and has your address, the pin is supposedly good for anyone who lives there. At least that's what Disney told me when Yani's Ex-boyfriend was given a pin, but it came to my house.;)

But like TE's apparently it was only good for certain times.

I am starting to hate the DDP already. Too many choices and not enough time to do them all!:headache: Although for reference in case anyone was wondering the ESPN Club takes the DDP!

Ya know I liked the DDP, it was nice not having to think about how much the food costs. It was even better when it included the tip though.
I liked MizDiz's idea of a 2TS Dining one day and doing CS only another day.

So something really really wonderful has happened.

Bob just offered to fly me to WDW for three days if I want to meet Dawn, Jen, JV Jen, Z and Angela.....

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: Yay!!! I can't wait!!!

Just another flyby before I go to bed.... Been a long night for my family. My sister called at 1am to let me know that our step grandfater passed away shortly before her call. So if I am even more "gone" than normal you all know why....

Night

Well, Ab is home sick---took her to the doctors yesterday and we ended up at the hospital for abdominal xray and blood work. She's had abd pain for over a month and is actually losing weight---whenever a bite of food hits her stomach, she is cramping. (and of course she only weighs 118):headache:
So we are waiting on the results this morning. Hopefully nothing serious.

Hope they find out what it is TE.

OMG!! : My Mom just called. they have looked over her blood work. and found no evidence of Leukemia. they tried differant tests. and Marrow is fine and the bloodwork is great! she has to go back every 6 months. the Dr has seen this before. but not that often.

OMG!! That is wonderful news Carrie!!! :goodvibes

I actually think I have some sort of plan....Tell me what you all think about my potential ADR's

CHeck In Day - Boma Dinner
Epcot Day - Garden Grill Dinner
Magic Kingdom Day - Chef Mickey's (Haven't decided Breakfast or Dinner)
DHS Day - 50's Prime Time
Break Day/Jim's RPDE Day - Capt. Jacks Dinner (Anybody been here? Good?)
Last Park Day SPlit between DHS and MK - Crystal Palace Dinner (We love this place!)
Check Out Day :-( Kona Breakfast

Sounds good! :thumbsup2 Make sure you space your lunch out before dinner because Garden Grill and Boma is LOTS of food available to eat and it's all so yummy!

And apparently 2 girls are getting fired if things work out with me. I feel kinda bad about that. So i just have to decide if this is the right fit for me and then everything goes into the works, and I can get PAID!

.[/COLOR]

Ooooh! Does that mean you'll get more hours?

I was not privy to viewing these little buggers IRL last Dec., however a good friend as just returned from the world and has begun a collection. Anyone seen them? I guess they try to suck the money out of us any way they can!

I think I saw them. I don't really look much when shopping @ Disney since I really don't need the toys. The Kermit one looked familiar though.

Dudes........
Part of my roof blew off!!! I'm not kidding.

 OMG good thing you guys are safe.

V & Jo thanks for the answers! :goodvibes

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SD!!!! :bday:

Hi Everyone :hippie:

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Well I feel like this smiley
I had a dry cough yesterday, but then last night I spiked a fever and now I feel like crap.

Still haven't called Disney since I've been lazy and drugged and lucid for most of the day.

Anyway just a quick drive by. :hippie:

Jo- Do you know if we get the bday gift card at the desk or only at the parks? Also- what's the deal with mugs? I've never thought about them, but they are cute.
I think it's only at the parks and you have to show proof that 1 it's your birthday(also pre-register at the main WDW site) and 2 you already have park tickets! Janet said about the mugs, we always share 2 between the 4 of us, they're worth the money if you drink lots of soda/tea/coffee but can only be used at your hotel!

Hmmm... It might be worth it to get one to share.
That's what we do!

OMG!! :yay: My Mom just called. they have looked over her blood work. and found no evidence of Leukemia. they tried differant tests. and Marrow is fine and the bloodwork is great! she has to go back every 6 months. the Dr has seen this before. but not that often.
Fantastic!!!!

Jen (GL) are you around. Are you on the DDP for your trip? You had mentioned the Tusker House Nemo Package. One or 2 credits?
I'm sure it's 1

It was too cute to pass up. I saw it in the juniors dept. but it is a 2x so it fits! Best part - $5.
Fantastic buy!

And apparently 2 girls are getting fired if things work out with me. I feel kinda bad about that. So i just have to decide if this is the right fit for me and then everything goes into the works, and I can get PAID!
Sometimes Kat you have to think of yourself

Will she get to pick some electives, too?
Huh??? She can choose 1 tech subject out of 5 and then has to choose 4 out of history, geography, art, music, french, german, latin, spanish and ICT

It's amazing what a little thumping and a paper clip can do !!!!:rotfl:
:rotfl2:

I had a dry cough yesterday, but then last night I spiked a fever and now I feel like crap.
Feel better

I'm sitting here waiting for my laptop to be returned, he hasn't called!!!!

Morning everyone!

Sorry Z is sick, and Jodi too! Feel better soon you guys! :goodvibes

I hope you get your laptop back soon, JO!

I am having a relaxing day today (well, until about 12:30 and then I'll clean the upstairs). The wind wasn't too bad here. I heard a branch hit the roof about 4 am but that was it. :confused3

Janet: Here's the frosting recipe:
Sift 2 and 2/3 cups of powdered sugar into a bowl with 1/2 cup of cocoa powder.
Add 6 tbsp. soft butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
and
slowly add 1/4 to 1/3 cup of milk as you beat it with an elec. mixer.

Add a little at a time because sometimes it doesn't take the full amount.

This makes ALOT of frosting. Easily does a two layer round cake!

Well, there is some peanut butter toast calling my name....

Mel:banana:

Well, she woke up vomiting this morning.......so I'm waiting on the doctor to open up..........and I'm "doctoring" on the internet---that's not making me feel any better as it says vomiting is not good. Plus she's stressed about missing school again--she's having a tough time with chemistry this year. She's getting a tutor to help her next week so maybe they can catch her up. I'm outta work again, but luckily I can catch up even on the weekends. (love my job for that)

Who's house blew away??
We had lots of wind here and a tornado watch---but all my goats are accounted for this morning!

Morning :goodvibes

Hope everyone is safe and sound. I saw there were lots of power outages in the NE.

TE, I hope you can get some answers for AB. And as V once told me, stay far, far away from webMD. Could she have an ulcer? I did in college and the symptoms sound similar.

It's off to the supermarket and Target tomorrow for us!

Have fun!

I will stop in when I get back and let you all know about the pirate rooms and T-Rex.

Have fun!!!

Yes, that's what I meant. We had to wait until high school (age 14) in my tiny school district, but whilst we all had to take algebra, English, biology, and civics the first year, then we could pick if we wanted Spanish (the only language we offered - really, really small school), home economics (budgeting, cooking, sewing, baby care) agriculture or metal shop... And then we could do band/chorus or have a study hour.

Around here they start languages much earlier and I think you can specialise starting at grade 7 (age 12) and they offer a LOT more things. :thumbsup2

I'm sitting here waiting for my laptop to be returned, he hasn't called!!!!

Ugh! I hate waiting around for that kind of thing.

I am having a relaxing day today (well, until about 12:30 and then I'll clean the upstairs).

Woohoo!

Oh, TE. I'm so sorry.

Kristel's. :sad2:

**************************************************
Well, I'm up, but not happy about it. :lmao: I couldn't fall asleep for some reason and then dreamt weird dreams all night long. I don't feel rested. ;)

And my throat hurts.

But, it's my favorite day of the week, so I'm still in an OK mood! ;) I leave for the fun tennis class in 20 minutes or so. :thumbsup2

It didn't freeze last night, so it's already 37, which is good. Tomorrow's high is 31 and it's supposed to be windy.

I took the boys to the bus, took the trash out, started the dishwasher and have a load of clothes ready to go when the dishes are finished. I'm dressed for tennis and nearly done with breakfast - woohoo! I feel so accomplished already! :rotfl:

I hope everyone's weather treats them well today!

After tennis, I have an eyebrow wax and I need to stop by the store, but then I think I'm in for the day. D's supposed to be home by dinner time. the boys don't have anything.

I'll check in again this afternoon. Have a good day! :grouphug:
