Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Wow... I never had a hard time planning a get-away for just DH and I before we had kids, but jeeze the Mommy-guilt is HORRIBLE!

But, I'm over it.

See, I have no problem going to Paris, or Cabo, or whatever without the kids, but I do bet that guilt might come about WDW. ;) I'm glad you're over it though - you deserve it! :goodvibes

This means I may actually have a day OFF!!!

Hope so!

Nothing much going on here, been to Church and the roast is in the oven as the girls are going swimming at 6pm with their youth group so I didn't think I'd better feed them before they went as they might sink

Jo... :rotfl:

Speaking of anniversaries...my parents 52nd wedding anniversary is tomorrow

Tell them congrats from me!

I'm telling all of you that woman will not spend one night at Pop

::yes:: I'm not taking that bet at all.

Unfortunately, one of our good friends had a stroke the other day.

I'm so sorry.

Well the plans went out the window this morning. I'm too lazy to go to DLR. Today is Andy's only day off, so we agreed to just lounge around and enjoy the fall weather.

Sounds like fun!

Ok, don't laugh.

Sure... ;)

Here are some pictures of Jimmy from soccer today:goodvibes

Nice! I need to get my Halloween stuff out. I think I have two full tubs of carp. My mom, in her first grade teacher mode, sends us new stuff every year... :rotfl2:

Mmmm... smells good in here. I'm making beef stew on this blustery, cold day. Heh heh heh. Can't wait to eat!

That sounds great!

I had a good day messing with my horsies---they loved being groomed and pampered---they will close their eyes and fall asleep while being brushed!

Glad you had a good day!

WE just got back from a trip to the ER. Holly had a go cart accident today. She turned to see of someone was going to pass her and ran right into a wall. She has a concussion, a big knot on her head, bit her tongue and slight injury to her left shoulder, right leg, and left foot.

She was with my mom and we beat the ambulance to the ER. We were in and out in less than three hours. However, when we were leaving, the waiting room was full of kids in masks.

I'm gonna have a long night or waking her every hour or so.

Oh, no! How is she doing today? for you all.

I can drive. I can drive.

Hooray!!!!

So, today I'm thinking of and praying for Mel. It's her surgery day and she said I should hear from her by early afternoon.

Thanks, I couldn't remember if it was today or tomorrow. Let us know.

****************************************************
Well...

Saturday we were lazy through the morning, then went swimming at the club, then did movie night. It was a good way to relax on a totally cold and rainy day.

Yesterday, we went on the boat, even though it was not quite 60. I have tons of good scenery pictures, but the lake still hasn't "exploded" in color yet. It was nice, though - we just cruised easy and walked around one of the cute little towns around the lake.

The kids are off to school. I have team tennis later, but am also supposed to have some fun practice stuff beforehand with some of the team. D says he's going to work, so I don't feel bad.

I called this morning and got the dog his annual vet appointment for Wed., and MIL comes in Thursday, so my week is getting busy again. At some point, I'll need to do more Book Fair stuff, too, and clean house. :scared1:
:rotfl:

I've already started some laundry this morning, but I need to eat breakfast and start thinking about moving. Hope you all have a great day! :grouphug:

Back from the grocery store. I forgot my list and my coupons...I was so annoyed with myself! But, I remembered most of the stuff, just forgot a couple of things.

Took Jimmy's boy scout shirt to the dry cleaners to have his patches sewn on. That will be done by Wednesday which is good. This way he can wear it for working the popcorn booth on Saturday. Which reminds me, I need to call and reschedule my dentist appointment so that I can work the booth .

Where is everyone:confused3

I'm here. :goodvibes

I'm just typing out all my curriculum so I can try and sell it. I'm going to stash the $ to pay for the cruise. :thumbsup2 My balance is due the day after Christmas. :headache: I've been cutting corners to save $ from my weekly "allowance" and I'm renting points to Theresa today too. It'll be so awesome to be able to tell everyone on Christmas morning that we're going on a cruise and I paid for it already! :yay:

I have to read up on everything about crusies. I don't get how everyone knows about theme nights and all that. I'm totally lost. I did take a Pirate Mickey clip art picture and add "Our First Cruise March 2010" on it to give as my surprise Christmas gift. :thumbsup2

When I got to work he commended me on my dedication and said I had approval to work from home as needed whenever my kids were sick. This is a big deal because I have asked for this about a dozen times over the last 4 years and the answer was always a stern "NO". I am so excited about this :yay:
That's fantastic! :thumbsup2 We used to have that policy, but ONE employee abused it and instead of dealing with her, we all lost that option. So yes, I'm now that parent who sends her kid to school sick and myself to work sick; what other choice do I have with no sick time? Ridiculous. :sad2:

When did all of you first become a Focker???
Summer 2006, when I first joined the DIS! It started with a request for a way say "Hi!" to fellow DISers and took off from there.

Here is the link to the thread. It was started on 4/7/07!
Actually before that - see above!

don't know about UtahMama. She unfriended me and DH on facebook.
I didn't know she was even on FB. :confused3 I miss her.

was utah mama the one that like SEAL? I remember asking her if she liked all marine mammals.......didn't realize he was a singer.
LOL, no, that's Gmax (Glenda). She's still around. :thumbsup2

I soooo remember TFW #1 whe we were BAD!!!!!!!:lmao: I admit I came up with a couple of those "List"words !!!:rotfl2:
In retrospect, we really were bad!

Speaking of anniversaries...my parents 52nd wedding anniversary is tomorrow :faint:
Yay, happy anniversary!

I'm sitting here laughing, because I just saw how T is waiting for an AP rate and hasn't booked Pop yet.

I KNEW IT!!!!!

Morning! Leo and I hit AK on Sat... and it was actually FUN! You know how I detest that place, but I think I found how we can best enjoy it: NO PLAN. For real, we just did stuff as we thought of it, wandered a lot and had a darned good time. :thumbsup2 It helped that it was hot-but-comfortable thanks to a good breeze.

Yesterday we got the fixings for Leo's cowboy costume and I cooked. You heard me, I COOKED! I can't find my frozen veggie meatballs anymore, so I decided to make my own. I only buy free-range, organic meat so I got a package of ground turkey and whipped up my very first batch of turkey meatballs. They're in the freezer, ready to toss in the micro next time we have pasta.

I changed barns with Leo and have my first riding lesson at the new place tonight. Wish me luck - maybe I'll finally get to canter (go fast)! ;)

I'm going to list them with my homeschool group so I can avoid shipping and fees. :thumbsup2

I need to read Lessa's TR. I started it, then life got really hectic, so I'm behind. :surfweb:

I wanted to let everyone know that Mel is home recovering on the couch. Bob expects she'll be sleeping off the massive amounts of drugs she was given to put the old girl under. ;)

Love you , Mellie. I'm glad you're through the worst of it.

Meh. I completely forgot about it. The Mom's Panel thread is crazy, I unsubbed to it.
So, today I'm thinking of and praying for Mel. It's her surgery day and she said I should hear from her by early afternoon. :grouphug:

I have a few errands to run, so I'll check back later.

Well, it's done. I have completed our plans for January. YES, we are staying at POP. BUT only on Friday night, then switching to SSR Sat & Sun. ALL the studios at ALL the DVC were completely booked on Friday night! :confused3 So unless I get a 40% off code for somewhere else, POP is it. It'll be a good experience for me. :teeth:

I hit up Target this morning and got busted for trying to steal deodrant! :lmao: I had my few things in the baby seat area, and I guess the deodrant fell down. When the girl put my bags in my cart, she asked me "Do you want those?"  OMG, I was so embarrassed!!! She wasn't even nice about it. PUH-LEEZE! Like I need to steal deodrant! Andy thought it was hilarious.

Anyway, I've got to pick up Evan now.

Have a great day, all! :flower3:

Nope, she hasn't been here since April. We saw her for D's brother's wedding at her house, of course, but... My mom came home with me for about 2 days after the wedding, maybe that's what you're remembering? :goodvibes

They're already cooked - how else would I re-heat them from the freezer?! :confused3
Oh, I didn't realized you cooked them first! :rotfl: But when I used pre-cooked frozen meatballs, I just put them in a saucepan with a teeny bit of water to thaw and reheat.

That's fantastic! :thumbsup2 We used to have that policy, but ONE employee abused it and instead of dealing with her, we all lost that option. So yes, I'm now that parent who sends her kid to school sick and myself to work sick; what other choice do I have with no sick time? Ridiculous. :sad2:

Same here V. It annoys me to no end too! GO after the people that abuse the privlege...not those of us who bust our humps!

I think there may be some sad people tomorrow! Last year I never ever thought I'd make it to the second round let alone onto the panel, I never dreamt of posting stuff on a thread!

Oh T :rotfl2:

D and I are off to watch the Chicago Bulls play Utah Jazz in London tomorrow and Em is babysitting as we don't know what time we'll be home. D has wanted to see the Bulls for donkey's years so he's all excited :goodvibes The boys are also staying the night so the girls are trying to baby proof the house now :rotfl2:

Basketball?? It's football season!

Donkey's year=

a. a year according to Eeyore
b. a very very long time
c. something Jo made up to amuse us!

;);):rotfl:

They're looking for 10 new ones and we haven't been told our fate yet. Did you say you do DL allllll the time?
Nah, but I'd have a better chance of getting on that panel.:lmao:
Same here V. It annoys me to no end too! GO after the people that abuse the privlege...not those of us who bust our humps!
 That reminds me of that Fergie song!

I figure I'm not getting picked, I just like to get the free stuff they send. You know, you are a loser but here's some stuff;):lmao:

True that! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Here ya go loser, here's a mousepad and some stickers! :lmao:

I'm here. :goodvibes

I have to read up on everything about crusies. I don't get how everyone knows about theme nights and all that. I'm totally lost. I did take a Pirate Mickey clip art picture and add "Our First Cruise March 2010" on it to give as my surprise Christmas gift. :thumbsup2

This is a Disney cruise right? How many nights? Eastern or Western? I can tell you with 99% certainty which nights are which theme based on your itinerary.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. :thumbsup2
