Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

HI people!!!
Gettin' on here early since we are not supposed to be goofing off at work. They just want to take all the fun out of it. :rotfl2:

Oops. Meant to put this at the end of the other, oh well. ;)

Busy morning, at least. I have tennis, then a haircut (likely just a trim, as I'm trying to grow it some, if not a lot, again.) Supposedly my co-chair is coming at 1:00 to enter the numbers on Scholastic's site, but I'm going to talk to her and make it contingent on getting a final answer on the deposit question. If the bank thinks her number is right, I'm actually now guessing that a check got lost somewhere, which stinks. But then I don't understand how she thought my deposits were all right on. I'm so confused. Neither here nor there, but until I get a "use the bank's number" or a "oh, here's the check" or a "you wrote one thing on your count sheet and another on your deposit" I'm not giving Scholastic the numbers.

Anyway, I may not be around a lot until later in the afternoon. Hope you all have a good day!
I'm sorry this is causing so much trouble. Oh and I thought Tennisy was a state?:lmao:

Oh right. See I'm old, I forget things
Just a quick pop in to say hi before work stuff starts. The Home and School Meeting was a disaster last night. There are these 2 women who talked through the whole thing, then at 8:30 wanted to revisit itmes already discussed and voted on. Um, no pay attention next time.

Today is my last day of work for the week. Tomorrow I am volunteering at Jimmy's school. Saturday the boys are doing their Scouting for Food pick up/box up. I am going to do the grocery shopping, both for the week and for Thanksgiving. Then I am going to clean to get ready for T-Day. Sunday is the last soccer game of the year...parents play the kids (have 911 on speed dial please), then there is a BBQ and the kids get their trophies.

I am only working 2 days next week.

Have a good day everyone. Will check in again at lunch
Don't you just want to smack people once in a while!
I was only going to work next Mon and Tue night. Now I need to move a vacation day because they want me to come in on day shift the only set that I work in December for inventory clean up. However I have a dentist appt. on one day right in the middle of the day. So one more vacation day added to December which means now I am only working 3 days next month.:cool2: Did you understand all that?

UGH. Yesterday was pure hell between not feeling well, work BS and a major meltdown by a certain 7yo. Sadly, I'm feeling even worse today; this cough just won't let go. It's really only been a few days, but it feels like months.

Try to find the positive... try to find the positive... hey, I'm losing weight because I have no appetite and all the congestion is making me nauseous!

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
They released the dates for the trip to Ireland that Doug and I want to go on this year - June 12 thru June 21. $2550/person for dbbl. That includes all the travel including bus to and from O'Hare, all breakfasts and 1 lunch. A $250 deposit upon booking is due. Here's the link:Ireland Trip. If you have a small computer screen it won't display correctly but you can get the jist of it.

I'm trying not to get too excited because if Doug's tumor shows any growth next month, I doubt we will be able to go. We'll have to wait and see. His mom and a friend of mine want to go if we go. It would make a wonderful trip.

Plus I may be making a quick trip to the 'World' next year after all. The IP-DIPS are meeting on Oct 24th. I'd really like to go. Another wait and see deal. I love holding patterns.:headache:

Not good. Not good at all.

Anyway, I'll be curious to see if I now also need "driving glasses." ;)
You're so lucky if you only need them now. I've been wearing glasses since 6th grade. PITA!

I'm sorry this is causing so much trouble. Oh and I thought Tennisy was a state?:lmao:
:rotfl2: Only if you live there or a surrounding state. :rotfl:

Fabulous! :cool1:

Finally told my mother about Mitch as she was discussing Christmas gifts and I didn't want him to end up with a bunch of carp. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, however, she was in the car and couldn't really freak out. And thankfully she'll tell me dad, so I don't have too. :rolleyes1

I'm definitely going for the 4-year RN degree. It is the best option in the long run financially and it offers more career options.
Fantastic :thumbsup2

Sorry I've been Meh about posting. I'm still not feeling great. I called the dr and asked for the longer antibiotic. Those 5 day ones don't seem to work for me. I'm soothing my throat with chocolate ice cream. :rolleyes1
Sounds like a good cure to me :rotfl2: Hope it gets better!

Jo I'm glad that your doctor visit went okay!!!:thumbsup2 But question where is the heat coming from you're in Kent not Florida !!!!:lmao:
:rotfl2:

I hope your jaw gets better soon. Here is some information on chiggers. I have had them. Very, very itchy.
I'm glad we don't have them here, they look nasty

Wow! Those sound like wonderful destinations, Jo!
Some are some aren't :rotfl2:

Well, I had to unplug and reboot the box twice before the boys got their before-bed show, but it's held on since about 7:00 now. :confused3
Is it still working?

Oh right. See I'm old, I forget things;)
Yep ;):rotfl2: And you're volunteering again? Wow Janet you're good!

At least it's not the trailer! :rotfl:
Hey :headache: Would you believe to hire the stinky trailer for 1 week costs over $1,000 :faint:

Anyway, I'll be curious to see if I now also need "driving glasses." ;)
And???????

Looks good, hope Doug gets the all clear :thumbsup2

Took Jess for her x ray after school, we were only in there about 45 minutes so pretty good, they couldn't see anything wrong so we still don't know why it hurts :confused3 But whilst there it really did make me appreciate how lucky I am, people were so sick, broken bones etc so I'm very grateful!

Good looking trip, Kristel! :goodvibes

Angela, glad your mom didn't freak too bad.

Jo, glad the x-ray was fine.

********************************************************
Went to the eye doctor, reading prescription is the same, though he's encouraging me to wear my glasses on the computer (which I'm not, oops, forgot!) He is starting to see some distance issues, but still not enough to prescribe anything. I kept my same reading glasses one more year. I prefer my "old" ones as far as style, but no one sees them but D anyway. :rotfl: Next year, even if they're the same Rx, I'll replace them, as they are from 2 years ago now.

And that's that. It's nearly 60, but supposed to rain soon and it's very cloudy/gloomy for all that it's warm. :sad2: Woody's outside with the neighbor kid, but Buzz has decided the kid is mean to him (kind of true, my other and he kind of gang up on the third) and so he's hanging out in the house. Makes me kind of sad on the one hand, but if he's miserable out with the neighbor, well...

And I love the neighbor's mom and the kid is fine - it's just that "three's a crowd" thing, I think. :headache:

I've been looking into holidays for next summer, we're *gasp* having a WDW break *gasp* yeah I know we're going in 3.5 weeks so I shouldn't moan :rotfl2: Anyway the prices are ridiculous, I've looked from Greece to Cyprus, Tenerife, Italy, Malta, Egypt basically everywhere and it's so expensive. Looks like we'll be at Dad's again :rotfl2:

A WDW break – the horror :scared1:! Is Dad’s free? Free sounds good!

I'm definitely going for the 4-year RN degree. It is the best option in the long run financially and it offers more career options.

The 2-year RPN program leaves you with a salary that pretty much remains around $35,000 throughout your career.

The 4-year RN program leaves you with starting salaries in the $60,000 range and then the salary goes up the longer you are in the field and if you specialize.

So it means 4 more years of school vs. 2 but it will leave me much better off financially in the long run so it is the better option. Also RN's are in very high demand so I should be able to get a job anywhere I want in Canada or the States.

Also RN's are respected more and do less of the distasteful tasks in patient care (poop) ;)

Well, that would clinch it for me right there (EEEWWWWW)! I figured you’d go for the 4 year – it certainly makes sense and you certainly are smart enough to get through with flying colors! Good for you!

We’ve been told to watch our internet usage at work.

Party-poopers!

I forgot to mention that we are going to see ‘New Moon’ on Sunday. We are hitting the first show of the day. I’m hoping all the frenzy will be over and people will be in church.

I’ll be interested to see what you think! Did you see the first one? What did you think of that? I’ve read the first two books and couldn’t put them down – I wasn’t as happy with the movie though.

It is! I had to have some jaw bone shaved off when I had my wisdom teeth removed years ago. It was horrid!

Yikes! Did it hurt for a long time after? Seems like it would ache something fierce!

Tempting... but Andy's used all his vacation time for the year. But now that I know it's part of the school calendar, I'm thinking of surprising Waldo and TE with a family trip next Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

Awww, that would be awesome!

Happy Belated Anniversary! :goodvibes

Thank you!

Just a quick pop in to say hi before work stuff starts. The Home and School Meeting was a disaster last night. There are these 2 women who talked through the whole thing, then at 8:30 wanted to revisit itmes already discussed and voted on:mad: Um, no pay attention next time.

Why do people do that? It is SO annoying!

Today is my last day of work for the week:woohoo: …
I am only working 2 days next week:woohoo:

Really easing into this back to work thing, huh? :rotfl2:

Amen to that. All totaled , my 8-night WDW trip last summer cost me $600ish for two people (that's including annual DVC costs and a % of our AP costs). It's truly the only vacation I can afford anymore.

You know, even not living in FLA, with DVC, WDW is truly a cheap vacation for us (Southwest airfare is usually super cheap from Philly too). A few years ago when my FIL passed away, we had just been to Scotland for Christmas and had to turn around and go for his funeral, which was an extremely expensive trip at the last minute, and if it wasn’t for DVC, we wouldn’t have had a vacation that year.

UGH. Yesterday was pure hell between not feeling well, work BS and a major meltdown by a certain 7yo. Sadly, I'm feeling even worse today; this cough just won't let go. It's really only been a few days, but it feels like months.

Bunches of  for you!

Try to find the positive... try to find the positive... hey, I'm losing weight because I have no appetite and all the congestion is making me nauseous! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:v

Well, at least there’s that!:confused3

I'm sorry this is causing so much trouble. Oh and I thought Tennisy was a state?:lmao:

:rotfl:
-------------------------------
I hope I don't regret the 3 oz of coffe I drank an hour ago. I could barely keep my eyes open (could the Thanksgiving buffet we had for lunch today have anything to do with it?), so I had a half a cup of coffe. I never have caffeine after my 1 cup in the morning and then my cup of tea when I get to work (not even soda). I have trouble sleeping alot (or staying asleep) so I'm really careful about my caffeine intake. I'm already feeling wired! Ugh!

Only the most important part...you are only working 3 days next month:woohoo:

That sounds awesome and June 21st is my birthday...just sayin:rolleyes1

You're so lucky if you only need them now. I've been wearing glasses since 6th grade. PITA!

I was 5 when I started wearing glasses, but I can't wear contacts. Can't stand anything near my eyes..you should see Jim trying to put my drops in. He asked the eye doctor if he had a clamp to hold my eyelids open:lmao:

OMG, I swear we have the same parents. I tell my mother everything so she has to tell my dad:lmao:

Yep ;):rotfl2: And you're volunteering again? Wow Janet you're good!

Thanks. SAdly, it's alwasy the same few who volunteer:sad2: And I know for a fact that alot of the moms in Jimmy's class are SAHM's with no other children:sad2:

I felt the same way after the OT appointment last week:sad1:

============

ALmost time to get out of here:woohoo: SItting here getting sick to my stomach. The radio started playing CHristmas music today at 3pm:sad2::sick:

Need to finish up the science fair project tonight so I may or may not check back in after Jimmy's in bed.

it's just that "three's a crowd" thing, I think. :headache:

I see that when my freinds 2 kids are over playing with Jimmy. 2 of them will "gang" up on the other. Usually it's the 2 boys against the girl:rolleyes1

Really easing into this back to work thing, huh? :rotfl2:

Well, I son't want to over exert myself:rolleyes1:lmao:

I've noticed, with the "no alcohol on weeknights" thing that I'm then drinking more Diet Pepsi all evening, and yep, it's affecting me. We've switched to trying at least a cup of decaf tea instead of the soda... Sigh. Good luck!

ALmost time to get out of here:woohoo: SItting here getting sick to my stomach. The radio started playing CHristmas music today at 3pm:sad2::sick:

Could they not wait another week? I could even see starting on the 25th - as a kind of "month out" deal, but it's TOO EARLY! :rotfl:

Which reminds me - next week one of my biggest tasks is getting all my iTunes Christmas music off the external hard drive and back into my computer, so therefore it can get to my iPod and phone. :rolleyes1 I truly love Christmas music, which is why I have to fight so hard to maintain my own rule. :rotfl2: I like to sing along. :goodvibes

TE just posted on FB that BA had to have an emergency appendectomy today. I'm sure she'd appreciate our pixie dust and good thoughts. :grouphug:

Satellite radio has already started too! :thumbsup2

OK, because we can all use a laugh...

Dr. Belle posted on her FB page that she has a new favorite word - mondegreen. It's defined as mishearing something, usually a song lyric. So then one of her friends (I don't know him...) posted this website.

You can browse or search by artist or song, and I've just been randomly clicking on songs and laughing my rear end off. :rotfl:

Enjoy! :goodvibes

The girls will be off to see New Moon shortly !!!!:banana:hey are a TAD excited!!!!:rotfl2:
Tomorrow is their Cheerleading Banquet and Kyle and I have a dinner date at Bob Evans ( his choice) ThenI am picking up his cousin for the weekend !!Oh and Kyle says he is getting Mac & Cheese !!:rotfl2:Why am I not surprised !!!!:rotfl2:

A WDW break – the horror :scared1:! Is Dad’s free? Free sounds good!
Yep free, we normally take him out for a meal or 2 but otherwise free. He also has a pool and a beach about 10 minutes away, just need the sun and we're set :thumbsup2

Need to finish up the science fair project tonight so I may or may not check back in after Jimmy's in bed.
What did you make?

Ellie is going later, I'm afraid I don't get it!!!!

Raining again  so no golf again  can you tell I'm mad? :rotfl: I seem to get cabin fever so quickly these days, D said to go shopping but I can't be bothered :rotfl2: Anyway hopefully it will stop so we can at least go for a walk, he's working from home today, then I need to drop Ellie's clothes round to a friends as they're going to the cinema straight off the bus for the other girls Birthday. They're seeing New Moon!

Exactly! Santa was at the mall 2 weeks ago. I"ve been avoiding the mall with Jimmy because of this:sad2: Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, and Christmas music, and the decorations, etc just not before the day after Thanksgiving.

Yep free, we normally take him out for a meal or 2 but otherwise free. He also has a pool and a beach about 10 minutes away, just need the sun and we're set :thumbsup2

As the saying goes, if it is free..it is for me:thumbsup2

Probably becasue you don't have anything else to occupy you now:rolleyes1

I think I am the only person in the world who has no interest in seeing New Moon:confused3

=============

Just a quick check in before I start getting to work. I am going to clean the kitchen before heading off to drop off Jim's script (yep not any better so we are getting the anti-biotic filled:sad2:), picking up Jimmy's Cub Scout shirt from the cleaners (Got his Bobcat Badge sewn on), and then to school for volunteering.

The boys have Cub Scouts tonight. While they are there I will do laundry:laundy:.

Tomorrow they have the 2nd part of the Scouting for Food community service project for Cub Scouts. I am am going to do the grocery shopping (for the week and for Thanksgiving), then come home and clean the bathroom, straighten Jimmy's room, and any other genral cleaning that needs to be done for Thanksgiving.

Sunday is the parent/kids game at soccer. Afterwards there is a BBQ and the kids get their participation trophies. Luckily the forecast changed and no rain until Sunday Night:thumbsup2 I think I got out of playing the game though:woohoo: I am going to video it.

So, if I don't see you all have a great weekend!

I'm sorry it's raining - it's chucking it down here horribly! ;) And I apparently turned my alarm off instead of hitting snooze :rolleyes1 (I build in two snoozes to my alarm time - I just can't jump right out of bed. Doesn't work.) Anyway, luckily I woke up only about 4 minutes after my actual "get up, really" time, but it's one of those days where I'm surprised I didn't sleep until 9:00! :rotfl2:

I'm subbing into a fun tennis class for my co-captain of the team, then I have an eyebrow wax appointment, then my co-chair of book fair is now coming over today at 1:00. We never did hear from the treasurer yesterday, so I need to see what I can do about that before she shows up.

So, fairly busy, but the tennis class doesn't start until 10:30, so I have some time this morning to veg a bit. :thumbsup2

Me neither.

This morning I'm running errands and that's about it. Mitch has two tests this afternoon so who knows when he'll be home? See you later. :goodvibes

Morning CE  I am giving myself another 15 minutes before I get moving.

Hi, Janet! I'm finally about to leave...

:rotfl:It's like "Hold me closer Tony Danza"

::yes:: One of my favorites on the site was someone mishearing a Springsteen lyric in "Born in the USA." There is a line about Vietnam where he says, "off to kill the yellow man" and some girl thought it was "Off to kill Piano Man" and her story about figuring out the right lyric was about trying to find out why Springsteen hated Billy Joel. :rotfl:
