Busy weekend for us. Cub Scouts tonight. I have a baby shower tomorrow. Jim and Jimm are going to put the Christmas decorations away while I am at that. After the shower I am going to run to
WalMart to get the non-perishable food stuffs.
That does sound busy - what did you decide about the shower?
Morning! T-minus 2.5 hours to lift off. I'm still coughing up a lung and am tiring more easily than normal, but feeling heaps better than a few days ago at least. I have every winter item we own packed; good grief, but that stuff takes up a lot of luggage space!

It's why I was happy to find that we could fly to IL for FIL's 80th b-day (it's today, btw) last year with only 3 suitcases - I knew it would be a total breeze to go anywhere with
summer clothes.
I'm sure you've heard, buy we may have sleet tomorrow.
Goodness!
I was buying a car.
Going to see if I can get out of the baby shower tomorrow. I feel bad, but not really

I really dislike showers, they are sooooo boring. I even hated my own
Right there with ya, sister. I asked to not have either wedding or baby. Got away without a baby shower, since they came 8 weeks early (possibly the only good thing about having preemies!), but couldn't get away without a wedding one. Or three.
We got hammered with snow yesterday. The wind kicked up too. It wasnt pretty. Like I said above, its also been very cold. It looks like more of the white stuff is coming off and on for the next few days. JOY! Can you tell I am over it already. BTW, our snow truck is not working either.
Doug was supposed to call about the PET scan results around lunch. He wont be home until 5:30PM. I guess Ill know what they found then.
Yeah, my parents' area had no school for Th/Friday, and then my dad's cousin's funeral is this morning up in Winnemac, IN. They were up driving last night, taking it really easy.
Let us know about Doug.
But we are going to Pigeon forge tomorrow to Wilderness at the Smokies for the indoor water park so maybe that will perk me up! (except for the shocking fact that I must don a bathing suit in January...)
Sounds like fun! I actually am about 7-8 pounds lighter than I was in August - but I still don't want a bathing suit yet!
We got 1/2 an inch, but tons of black ice on the roads. Several neighbors couldn't get out of the neighborhood because their driveways were too icy.
Craziness.
Good morning from Frozen Kingdom! Yep, it snowed around here this morning, though we've not seen it. But it's all over the news.
Everyone's here and we'll catch up sometime today. I'm ditching MK rope drop after a nearly sleepless night coughing. Ugh. Maybe EP in a bit.
I'll be back!
Hope you feel better, and that you stay warm!
Wow that is quick and I'm so glad you liked UP that will annoy Janet

We watched it last night for movie night, and I still love it.
Snowing again

I never thought I'd say it but it needs to stop and go away,
Ah, ha! You have seen the light!

I've also got a dodgy tummy, but that did let me off walking to get more food
Aw, hope you feel better.
Can't believe my baby is 13....at 1:44 pm today....born in the middle of a Connecticut blizzard!
Happy birthday to BA!

Drive safely.

I still haven't taken pictures of the car, but it's in the garage.

D & I went and played the cardio tennis (running) class, and then we showered at the gym and headed down to get it.
No problems with the pick up of it; they did change the oil, which we had meant to ask for but had forgotten, and then we drove away. Easy peasy. Except that D was having me drive, and he was messing with the navigation/audio system screen. The car was advertised as having built in Bluetooth - nice, not necessary, but nice. He was trying to set up my phone, and it wasn't working. He read on to find that you have to be stopped to set it up - fine. So, we stopped for lunch and read on - come to find out that the Bluetooth is part of a whole "SYNC" system that the car quite clearly doesn't have.
Again, it's totally unnecessary, though it would have been cool, but I suspect that we paid for it, you know? The dealer's web site clearly lists a few things that are not there that would be part of this system - nothing I need, but cool and probably priced into the car.
But, of course, we didn't check for nor negotiate for it, and there's the standard "please verify all options before buying" clause on the site. D called the salesman, and he was pretty much "Well, you didn't look, so..."

And no, we didn't, and we feel pretty stupid about that on the one hand, but on the other, we weren't going to try to sync a phone to bluetooth on a test drive, and while we did think to verify that the DVD and CD player worked, we didn't read the audio system manual before buying, so we didn't realize that we were missing a so-called "system" for the bluetooth...
Anyway, it's not something that can be added afterwards, and again, I don't need it by any means, but I feel like they should offer SOMETHING for it not being there, since they advertised it - even if it's just some service or something. We are supposed to call back today to see what the manager says.
Otherwise, though, the car is great. It's AWD, and it did snow only about a half inch yesterday - but right away I noticed that on my very sloped and somewhat icy driveway that it's a TON easier to get out. It rides great, it's beautiful inside and out, and overall I'm still very excited!
And, I can talk to my car, and it can talk back.

Seriously, there are voice controls for the navigation/audio system. Crazy.

She doesn't understand us very well, though - we got to laughing so hard that I was crying, as we were yelling "NAGIVATION!" at the car.
Today is a little busy. The boys have basketball (we hope for real this time) at 12:30 until 2:00. Then we don't have much until evening. The gym is running a free movie for the kids tonight, but the parents have to stay in the building - so it's really just a way to drum up business for the club restaurant.

But, it's fun for everyone, so... We're actually going an hour early to maybe play some tennis first - I need to see if I can get another court - and then eating with a bunch of the tennis gang whilst the kids watch the movie. Should be fun!
Have a good one, everyone!
