Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

We're getting a new car on Thursday, it's another Peugeot, can you believe we had the other one 2 years now :faint:

WOw, that went FAST!

Janet - I usually serve tacos with beans and spanish/mexican rice and a salad. I love vinegary salads with tacos...like a cucumber, tomato and onion salad. Mmmmm! Now I'm craving tacos! :lmao:

Wound up making nothing with them:sad2:

Just driving by as I eat lunch, hope all is well in Fockerland!

:wave2:

I’m feeling much better now that I know you can’t jump from your office window!

:lmao:

Doug had to take the Chevy Aveo to the dealership today. It had a defective shifter. There has been no recall but if you get on the internet, it is a common issue. We were charged nothing to fix it.

That's good!

Taco Bell.

Another one T:rotfl2:

Tomorrow Doug will start his therapy.

Good thoughts heading his way:goodvibes

+++++++++++++++

The tacos for dinner were good. Jimmy had chicken nuggets:sad2: He is watching one last episode of Pokemon before bed. He has a 1/2 day tomorrow, so I have to make sure to pack him some clothes to change into for after school. If he is going to be playing on the playground with the grounded up BLACk tires on the ground I don't want him doing it in his WHITE school shirt:eek:

He has a Dr. appointmetn at 4:45 that Jim is going to tak him to, so I don't need to leave work early.

Did I tell you I called for Jury duty for the Wednesday before Easter. We are off Friday, so I am thinking I will take Thursday as a V day. I wont' get picked for JD, as soon as they hear what I do for a living I get dismissed. Waste of time and money if you ask me.

Also, did anybody get a letter from the census telling you that your census will be in the mail next week:confused3

I didn't quote because I hurt my finger today! Ouch!
It was quite stupid, I tripped over my own feet, fell into the bunny cage (which nearly killed poor Cappucino from a heart attack) and then smashed my little finger into the wall. I have a bruise, it hurts to bend it and my nail bent back ALL THE WAY. I am klutzy in the extreme.

So, I am doing the "hunt and peck" typing. S L O W.....

I am so excited for Dawn that she's leaving tomorrow but I'm sad for me because I don't leave till Sunday! :sad1: Why does time go so fast when we're there but the week leading up to it takes an extra 120 plus days...

Angela: Sorry about Mitch's uncle. Did I send you my itinerary so we can meet?
JO: Sorry you rowed with David. But, I am glad Boo's doing well and that you played well today!
MO: Sorry about your foot. That stinks! Italy is going to be soooo incredible though! I hope you have a wonderful time.
CE: Your days exhaust me. Glad you have so much energy!
T: I mailed the cookie check this morning. I'm sorry it took me so long. I had to buy stamps. :sad2:
Janet: Jury Duty!!! Aren't you a TAD biased, working in probation? LOL!
Kristel: Hope Doug's doing well still. I know about those lights. Mine end up all over the dang lawn!
V: Yay! :thumbsup2 Glad you made it back to us. It's been sort of quiet here, the last few days. I hope the drama settles down and that the weather improves for you! It's been a cold winter for you guys!

I know I've missed people. Dang.
Sorry! :wave2:

Oh, and :welcome: to the newbie. I'm Mel. I am a SAHM with two boys, 17 and 12. My dh, NotBob, travels alot so I'm sporadic around here. We live in Michigan now but are Mass. natives. Glad you could pop in!

Alrighty, I'm outta here. My poor pinky finger.... :headache:
See you peeps tomorrow. :cool2:

::yes:: My little greenie self couldn't help but wonder at the use of all that paper.

T: I mailed the cookie check this morning. I'm sorry it took me so long. I had to buy stamps. :sad2:

I mailed mine just now. I'm out of checks for my checking account :sad2: and wound up writing a couple this week on my HELOC checks and moving money instantly. :rotfl2:

And to prove how UN Brit I am I knew what refried beans were !!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry haven't been around too much WORK!!!:scared1:

I hope everyone has a great spring break! :goodvibes We'll be back on the 23rd (my birthday, actually). See you all then! :cutie:

BYE, Carl!!!! See you soon! :yay:

I'm not going till Sunday. :guilty: The days are draggggggging.....
For now though, I'm up and showered (at this ridiculous hour!) so that I can go work at Gus' school. I'm on duty from 7:40 to 9:40. I'll need a nap after that! They are doing what they call Math Cafe. It helps the students with calculating percentages etc, they have parents donate all sorts of foods (pancake mix, muffins, bagels, juice etc) and they "sell" it to their classmates and teachers. Measuring is good practice for learning fractions. :thumbsup2

So, I'm up. But I ain't happy bout it.

MEL:banana:

So, I'm up. But I ain't happy bout it.

I wouldn't be, either.
Hi, Rosie!
Bye, Dawn!

*******************************************************
D & I went to bed pretty early, but I slept poorly. I think I'm getting the sniffles/cold that Buzz seems to have had for a couple of days. I have a tennis match this morning, so I can't be sick. I've taken a Tylenol Cold and am hoping for the best. I can surely make it 4 hours, then if I am sick, well... :rotfl:

This match is away, but luckily it's close - 2 towns over - so I don't need to leave super early. I have to shower first, though. :rotfl2:

I hope you all have a great day! I feel so "off" because of the teacher workshop yesterday. All day yesterday I kept thinking it was Wed. Now today I think it's Monday... I don't know. :rotfl: Anyway, have a good one, whatever day it is! :grouphug:

Have you been called before? You'd think there'd be a "don't call" list somewhere...

I get called ALL the time and then I am usually dismissed by about 11:00. It is a waste.

::yes:: My little greenie self couldn't help but wonder at the use of all that paper.

Plus all the postage wasted:headache:

I hope everyone has a great spring break! :goodvibes We'll be back on the 23rd (my birthday, actually). See you all then! :cutie:

Missed you...have a fabulous time. Make sure to keep Mel in line, no drink smuggling!;)

Hi Rosie :wave2:

Good morning all. Another beautiful day weather wise. I am really hoping March isn't coming in like a lamb so she can go out like a lion :scared:

I have to run to the verizon store at lunch to get car chargers for the cell phones and an extra charger for me to keep at my desk in work. Other than not much going on here. Hope everyone has wonderful Wednesday:grouphug:

BEFORE you sweat:confused3

I know. I find it odd, but everyone does hair and makeup and everything before matches. And, frankly, I never showered yesterday (I never left the house), so I'd be embarrassed to show up in public without one, anyway. :rotfl:

My BIL, who's an attorney, didn't get dismissed.

Not good.

I went to the grocery and had wine in my buggie. The checkout lady tells me I can't buy it until 9.00, and it's 8.45. Why then, isn't there a sign in the wine section that says that? In Tennesee you can buy wine at 8.00am. I can't believe it's later here. If the PX had decent wine, I'd just go there since they done have to adhere to the silly laws. ;)

Only an English person would ask that! :rotfl2:

Psst... the answer is pinto, Jo.
See I am English and to prove it even more I've never heard of pinto beans, runner yep, broad yep, french yep, pinto nope :rotfl2:

I didn't quote because I hurt my finger today! Ouch!
Ouch, how is it today???

Well that's just daft :sad2: We have a rule on Sundays, it's about 10am, but there are big signs up!

Well the car is hoovered out and hopefully is passable to the inspectors tomorrow so we don't get charged anything, I also hope they don't see all the stone chips!!!!

Tonight we're off to Jess's school for a meeting about her options for next year. She starts her big exams and we need to choose which ones she does,I would imagine it will be very different to when I made mine :rotfl2:

Morning all. I am not reading through everything for quotes.
Janet I get called all the time and dismissed early too. When they find out that Jim is a sheriff and my son is a Correctional Officer and I major in Criminal Justice no one wants me. I go because it's a game to me now and a break from the kiddies for a day.

Whoever just left on vacation I hope you have a good time.

Kat glad you're feeling better.

I didn't know pinto beans were used either. I would have chosen kidney beans.

I had a quiet day yesterday and by 9 today I had showered, cleaned the bathroom and baked a cake. I have to take my granddaughter to dance later today and then I have to go to church for some Lent thing. That was what the cake was for. My mom told me I have to go because it's at our newly combined church and they want a good show for the other churches that come. It's still nice weather wise so I'm enjoying that. I actually took the 2 little ones to the playground yesterday and it was nice to have them get some of their pent up energy out. Oh well have a good day.

Hello all! Thanks for the comments on my blog!
Hugs to those who need them.
So, this weekend, Mom and I were going to Nowheresville, NY for my uncle's memorial mass. To reward myself for being a good daughter, I went to the AAA travel show on Friday (I am thisclose to caving and booking a Harry Potter package for this summer at Universal). I also saw Alice in Wonderland, which I loved.
Anyway, We left on Saturday, had a lunch at the Cullinary Inst. of America, which was awesome (and pretty cheap, given it could have been served by the next Cat Cora). We went to Mass, then had dinner at a restaurant I'd been dreaming of all week. It was a mexican place, and the area we were in has a huge population of immigrants from the city in Mexico where I lived. I had been dreaming of real Mexican food all week. The food was yechy and the service stupid. We returned to the hotel. I went to bed.
Isn't it T who loved the line from The Devil Wears Prada about being one stomach flu away from your goal weight? Let's leave it that my night involved an ambulance, an ER trip (with the other two people in my room at the ER having the same thing). When I left the ER, my shoes were flapping around I had shrunk so much.
Stayed an extra night in Nowhereville-they had no wifi and they had cablevision, so no Oscars-GRR. Came home, am finally back to myself today.

Hedy, that does not sound like a fun trip! Glad you're feeling better.

Can I tell you that I love my sister? She called my mother to tell her that my grandmother was not invited to stay with me because of all the hurtful things she said last time she was here. I had no idea she was going to do that, and she told my mother she was not relaying a message from me, just her observations. She said she was so mad at my grandmother she could have hit her. I had no idea that my sister would get so angry on my behalf. :goodvibes

...Sounds nice! Yummm, Dog & Suds...
It was very good but they must have a newbie at the fryer. The onion rings were a bit over done.

:sad2:

Let's see....

I use about 2 pounds of beans, throw then in my crockpot and fill it with water. Then I'll add sea salt and about 8 garlic cloves. That's it. If I need them for that day, I'll cook them on high for 4-5 hours, if not I'll put them on low all day. Just remember to keep tasting the liquid and season as you go along.

I ususally get 4 or 5 containers of whole beans that I freeze. Then if we want "refried" beans, I'll just mash them up once I'm cooking them. I don't technically "refry" them, KWIM? We usually just eat them whole (en la hoya) and mash them when I'm making tostadas.

Kristel - Sounds like fun - I loved that movie!
I'm so glad I grew up around some Redneck Brown People! Although I do use the canned kind quite a bit. Anyone else feeling gassy??:lmao:

I like Graham Norton, see I am English
Have fun and hope you're not in trouble with your boss!

But what type of beans?
:thumbsup2
T is not impressed.

Only an English person would ask that!

It's been a long time since I was asked for jury duty. Doug always gets out of it. It's that look that says, 'Don't care, I just want to get out of here and I'll do whatever it takes!"
We got the note on Monday. I guess they want to make sure you don't throw it away.

I don't know how many times I have gone to Sam's Club on a Sunday and almost bought wine. No signs or ropes. 'Cause we all know that in Indiana if you drink on Sunday you go straight to the fire and brimstone place.:lmao:

I'm determined to get some primer on the man cave despite the beautiful weather outside. 66 degrees! (What is it in Florida???) It shouldn't take too long. Then I can go cut down some more tall grass. I did get a slight sun burn on my cheeks and nose the other day. Guess I better find the sunblock.

See ya later!

My BIL, who's an attorney, didn't get dismissed.

He doesn't give the right answers when they question you....

Criminal Case - I believe EVERYTHING the cops say no matter what and you will never change my mind.

Civil Case- Unless I can see injuries on an XRAY or MRI they do not exist

:rolleyes1

You made those up:lmao:

As others said you'd think they'd have a list plus how come you get called so often???

Here they have what is called one day or one trial. FOr everyday you serve you get a year off where they don't call you. If I only get the one day, they will call me again next year. If for some strange reason I get picked and wind up on a trial, say 5 days...after I was done that I would get called for 5 years.

Well the car is hoovered out and hopefully is passable to the inspectors tomorrow so we don't get charged anything, I also hope they don't see all the stone chips!!!!

They usally take normal wear and tear into consideration here.

Wow, actually got alot of stuff done here at work and have a minute to breathe. I ran to the verizon store at lunchtime and picked up an extra charger for my phone (to keep in my desk at work) and car chargers for me and Jim.

The weather is nice so I am hooping that with the 1/2 day Jimmy got lots of outside play today becasue it is supposed to rain the rest of the week:sad2:
On the plus side the temp is still gonna be in the 50's. I wil take rain over snow, thank you very much!

T - Before I forget....I forgot the Troop number so I made the check out to you. If it's a problme let me know and I will write another one!

Hope everyone is having a loverly day:hug:

Can I tell you that I love my sister? She called my mother to tell her that my grandmother was not invited to stay with me because of all the hurtful things she said last time she was here. I had no idea she was going to do that, and she told my mother she was not relaying a message from me, just her observations. She said she was so mad at my grandmother she could have hit her. I had no idea that my sister would get so angry on my behalf. :goodvibes

Aw, nice.

I don't know how many times I have gone to Sam's Club on a Sunday and almost bought wine. No signs or ropes. 'Cause we all know that in Indiana if you drink on Sunday you go straight to the fire and brimstone place.

The whole day? Huh.

****************************************************
Well, after a rather longer day than I hoped, I am home and we won! Woohoo! Handily, too. :thumbsup2 I finally played in a match like I play in class/practice!

But, the main captain was playing today, and she had us all getting there at 10:00 for a 10:30 match. Got there, nope, match isn't until noon. So, we all went out for coffee/tea and hung out.

My medicine wore off, and I'm in a bad way - lost my voice in the second set - calling scores was interesting... :rotfl2:

But, my partner & I won, as did our singles player. The other doubles team lost, but in a 3rd-set tiebreak, so it was nice and close.

I went ahead and went to the grocery store afterward, so I only got home about 20 minutes ahead of the boys.

D was home, though, and got sick of the floor by the back door. We pulled up the carpet back about 3 years ago. Before, there was carpet, then a semi-circular type area of linoleum at the entrance. When we pulled up the carpet, came to find out it was THREE layers of linoleum over the hardwoood. :sad2: We kept debating on what to do, because without the carpet thing, the semicircle didn't work, and we didn't know if it would be possible to tile in any good pattern without running into the fireplace or what.

Anyway, he's pulled up the lino and is trying to get the adhesive off the wood floor. He's used some adhesive remover and is scraping now - I think it's going to come down to sanding, but that could get ugly and into more of a project than we want. We'll see.

I just want to veg for a bit, but he's both making the scraping noises, and is kind of muttering a running commentary to himself during the process. :rotfl: It's fairly amusing, but not relaxing. :rolleyes1

BBL! :wave2:
