Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Whew! I'm wiped out! I think things are almost done, though. :thumbsup2 I have everyone but K packed and the house clean. I don't think I'll need to make anymore trips to the store. The kids are doing all their homework for the week so we don't have to do it the night we get back. They're being pretty good sports about it. I only had to remind them once that we were very lucky to get to go extra days on our trip.

Angela- I'm so sorry for your loss.

Hi everyone else... :cutie:

I really could use a vent about my weekend.

Good deal! :thumbsup2

The pick-up at the pizza place over karate took a long time, and I started get stressed about bedtime and stuff, then it suddenly occurred to me that, oh, yeah, the whole reason we went today is that there's no school tomorrow. :rotfl:

So, now, we're watching a Muppet DVD. :thumbsup2

The boys both chose chicken Caesar salads. :rotfl2: I mean, it's great, but it struck me as funny when I offered pizza that it's what they picked. :goodvibes I got a spinach and garlic calzone. Yum! Good thing I walked whilst they did karate. ;)

No word from D - don't know if that means they are late getting out, or if he just knew I wasn't home so didn't call. :confused3

Morning! I know I'm not posting much, but I am reading along when I have time and trying to stay caught up on everything. You guys are in my thoughts, even if I'm not online!

It's still all drama, all the time around here. Way too much going on with work, the never-ending refi (no, it's STILL not closed), and Bonehead. But Leo's been doing great, so that helps temper the rest. :goodvibes

Happy Monday all - have a good week!

Hi V  So glad things are going better. Ugh about the refi though:hug:

Janet - you missed a really fun time Saturday night. We were there almost to closing time.

I'm sorry I missed it. We will definitely have to try and plan another one!

The weather is so nice right now that I can't help but think it's the calm before one last laugh from mother nature.

Shhhhhhhhhh.. Don't say that out loud:headache:

Hi All!

First time on this thread. What does FOCKER WATCH mean?

Jo explained. Hi, I'm Janet. Mom to Jimmy and wife to Jim. I am a supervisor with the Philly Probation Depratment. Welcome to the madhouse;)

Mitch's uncle passed away this morning.

I thought I'd send some flowers to Joanne in a few weeks time when everything calms down.

That's a good idea:goodvibes

My F & G pics are on FB. I still like last year's better.

Will check them out:thumbsup2

Good Morning! Hi! Bye! BBL!

 Check in the mail today!

When we went into the shoe shop they were giving away special packs of trump cards, well some of them had a special code in (Jessica's did but Ellie's didn't) you then had to input that online for a chance of winning Oh and :p about UP!

Cool and :snooty:

Well we went to paint our bedroom ceiling today and found that a mouse had left lots of ummmm deposits all over the dust sheet which was in the garage  so we really didn't want to use it to cover the bed :rotfl2: Any excuse to get out of it huh We then went to golf where David caddied for 9 holes and we rowed as he was telling me what to do and I just thought he was critising me Fun times :rotfl:

 and :lmao:

Bill's Mom is an OCDish cleaning freak, I catch her glancing all around the apartment looking for dust :rotfl: it drives me nuts like we are having some type of inspection or something. Also, Bill's grandma came with them and Bill's Mom doesn't particularly like her so you can cut the tension with a knife. It is never a comfortable visit when they all come.

See I don't have this problem. My parents live 1000 miles away and I just don't invite the inlaws over except at holidays:lmao:

Bill is feeling better today, thank you for asking. Sometimes with his CP his body just says "enough, I will give you a fever to make you rest" otherwise he just pushes himself too much.

Glad he is feeling better!:goodvibes

I really could use a vent about my weekend. My grandson has a speech delay. It is most likely due to a hearing loss. I have been fighting the system and my SIL for 2 years to have his hearing tested. I knew that eventually other kids would notice that he talks different and tease him. The little girl I take home from school started Friday afternoon and my granddaughter joined in. We explained to my granddaughter that her brother is special and she needs to tell people that. My DIL babysits the little girl so she was talked to also.
I was just really down all weekend because I knew that this day would come and it will get worse before it gets better. I want to protect Mikey because he is such a special little boy. Fortunately he is so good natured that he laughed along with them. This will change as he realizes that he is being teased.
This could have all been prevented if the dr and my SIL listened to me when I said there was something wrong. I am with that child every day. My mom went off when I told her because she hates my SIL and blames him for everything. Then she started on my daughter again because she listens to my SIL. Mikey also has behavioral issues and we don't know if they are linked to the hearing. Of course that is because he is a BOY according to my SIL.
I just want to make everything better for that little guy and it really hurts me that I can't. Then I get stuck between my mom and my daughter. We see the ear specialist next week so at least I'll have an idea where his hearing levels are at.
I know I am probably too involved but since I watch the kids every day and am my daughter's transportation I have to be. My hubby is out of town again so I have no one to talk to today. I do appreciate you all letting me get this out. It does help.

Oh well now I need to go buy food for the dog and cats. I'll talk to you all later.

 Some unsolicited advice? Is he in school? Speak to the counselor there and ask to have him tested.

:yay: on being packed and having all the homework done. HAve fabulous time see you when you get back!

So, now, we're watching a Muppet DVD. :thumbsup2

Which are you watching?

++++++++++++++++++++++

Evening all. Jimmy is in bed. I'm ging to pack lunched for tomorrow and then head there myself. It has been crazybusy at work and I am just tired. Jim has tryouts for softball this week, which I forgot about, but they won't interfere with him picking Jimmy up so I won't have to adjust my schedule for that. I will once the games start though.

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening.:goodvibes

I know, we don't need any more weather like we have had. This warm weather has been nice the past couple of days.

He's in SPIN right now. I think our first step is the hearing. I told my daughter this morning that once that is done his behavior is the next step. My son was ADHD and wasn't diagnosd until he was 14 and the damage was done. My SIL did a year at Vision Quest when he was 13 because he was out of control. Over my cold, dead body will that happen to my Mikey. My daughter agrees with me so he will be tested. He is a smart little guy and I will not have him suffer.

This evening has been nice and quiet. Hope you all are having a good one. Big Bang Theory is on so I am actually turning the computer off to watch it. I love that show.

We have a DVD of the Muppets on the Ed Sullivan show in the late 60's called "Muppet Magic". The boys adore it. :thumbsup2

Sounds good. Jimmy loves to watch the old Muppet Show. I have the 1st season on DVD.

Hey all.

Feeling MUCH better today, as is KC. I think the evil virus has passed. The plus is we both have started eating a lot less in a serving, which was a big issue before. So yay us!

We had an old friend come by trying to hash things out and see if we can be friends, some got squashed but there seems to be a lot to talk about and a lot of things being held onto from the past. we'll see I guess.

tomorrow I will catch up on everything, and probably get an update on my TR as well.

Morning all. It's a beautiful morning:goodvibes Unfortunately I am at work, so cant enjoy it:sad2: On the plus side Ihave a corner office with lots of windows, unfortunately none of them open. Something about safety and people jumping:rolleyes1

Jim has softball tryouts this afternoon and then he and Jimmy will be going to the library. We are doing tacos for dinner (Old El Paso T, is that better than Taco Bell). Trying to decide what to make with them. Ideas T?

Not much else going on. Ton of work to do, but I will try and check in later. HAve a great day all:goodvibes:hug:

Good morning all-I'll be back with responses later, but I wanted to introduce you Fockers to my new "baby" http://wdwnotjustforkids.com/

I'll check it out!

Well, at least you can see it, I guess. We're a tad cooler today - only high of 49 instead of 54. That's OK, though, it's still sunny and gorgeous.

I'm not T, and she's going to flinch, but I have a great refried bean thing I always make with tacos/taco pie. It's very much a "throw things in and see what you like" thing. My mom made it as more of a dip, but I use it as a side, and both the kids like it.

1 can refried beans (we use fat free)
Some salsa (around a quarter cup)
Some cheese (a handful of shredded, maybe?)
Some onion (I used dried from the spice aisle, mom uses fresh)
Some chili powder
Some salt
Some pepper (I use both black and a touch of cayenne)
Sometimes I throw in some garlic...

Heat the beans over medium heat and throw the rest in to taste. Yum!

I'm glad that you're finally seeing someone and getting a hearing test, it must be so frustrating knowing somethings wrong  Over here children routinely have hearing checks at about 6 months and then at about 2 and 4 too!

Played golf again today but it was a bit different we were only allowed to take 5 clubs with us, which is actually very hard to do as you always know you'll need the ones you left behind :rotfl2: Anyway I did OK, I think I came in the top 5 but didn't win!

We're getting a new car on Thursday, it's another Peugeot, can you believe we had the other one 2 years now :faint:

Canned beans, CE??? O. M. G. Dude, fresh beans are sooooo easy to make, make the house smell delish, can be made in big batches and then frozen and once you've had them, you'll never crack open a can again!

Janet - I usually serve tacos with beans and spanish/mexican rice and a salad. I love vinegary salads with tacos...like a cucumber, tomato and onion salad. Mmmmm! Now I'm craving tacos! :lmao:

HMM, did someone say Taco Bell, YUMMY!!!!!!!

Just driving by as I eat lunch, hope all is well in Fockerland!

Howdy All!

I think spring is finally here!!! Oh and once again, you all crack me up. I just ate at Taco Bell myself!

MO is having trouble again with her ‘good’ foot. 11 weeks ‘til Italy.
I am so sorry about your foot. I hope that it will not be an issue while you are on your trip.

MEL is in single digits and doesn’t care about her luggage while she is at a park. She getting everything packed.
Yeah, baby! Have a terrific trip, dude!

ANGELA reports that F & G didn’t do it for her this year. She is having a FB dilemma. Mitch got his orders. He will be gone for 400 days starting at the end of April. Mitch’s uncle passed away.

This is my main concern with it too. I hate to be rude but I don’t want everyone to know that I am on there. I wouldn’t mind any of you popping in, heck I’d PM you my fake name for that matter. I have been toying with the idea of setting up an account. Very privately, of course. Hugs for you on Mitch’s orders. My condolences on his uncle.

DAWN is doing the single digit dance too!
Sounds like you are ready! Bon Voyage!!!!!

TAZ is a coach for Tball and baseball. They are going to the hearing doctor for the DGS next week.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed on the roof thing. Is your house a single level? I’m glad you have fun with the kids in the spring and summer. Hopefully you will learn something about Mikey and they can help him. He sounds like a very special guy. You have every right as the grandma to speak up for him.

Hello PAMOM!

JANET had to decline an invitation to a party being given for a friend’s daughter. Said friend is now shunning her.
Well, I would say she is not much of a friend. You might want to contact her and see if she is actually mad at you before you jump to any conclusions though. If she is PO’d, so be it! Your kid should always come first, period!
I’m feeling much better now that I know you can’t jump from your office window!

T has such a way with *^&@#!!!
MMMM, beans!

JO is shattered after golf the other day. She has entered a lot of contests. They had a lovely walk and lunch on the 7th. She had David do the caddying yesterday. They had fun arguing. They are getting a new Peugeot.
It sounds like you have been having a great deal of fun. Congrats of the new car. Give us a picture when you get it home.

ROSIE is very UN-BRIT!!! She doesn’t like Monty Python or Benny Hill!

How about Graham Norton?

CE lost her purse and didn’t even know it. She needs a book on the virtues of parenting with a Wii in the house.
You are one lucky lady. I am not a parent and I think this is part of the reason why.

HEDY liked Alice in Wonderland. She has started a blog about WDW and adults, post #269 for the link.
I’m glad you liked the movie. Bravo on the blog. It’s very interesting.

KAT was still not feeling to good. KC got down too. Today they seem better and are eating again.
I’m glad you are getting well again. Good luck on the ‘friend’ issues.

MrsKS is trying to keep up with us. Bill was not feeling well. Her MIL is a bit of a pain. The ILs were all visiting.
I’m glad to hear that Bill is feeling better too! Boy, your MIL would not be impressed with my place right now!

HI Z!
Sorry you are so busy! Miss you!

V is doing OK. Lots of drama. Leo is doing well. She is keeping up just not posting much.
Glad you are doing fine. We miss you too!

Hey CEL BEL. Hope school is going OK. Good luck to Marc on the job!

Welcome FIGMENTGIRL! I will make that FG from now on if you stick with us. Have you seen the movie “Meet the Fockers”? We get our name from it. We are lime green lovin’ ladies and some gentlement who discuss day to day stuff and our trips with each other. Our sign to each other is the Focker salute like you see in some of our signatures. Have fun at POLY! Don’t forget the Lapu-Lapu!

*********************************************************************************************************************
I would have been here yesterday but it was too gorgeous to stay indoors and I had to get up early today. I got my 'accent' lighting all fixed. It always gets knocked around in the winter. I had one light busted and a few burnt out bulbs. I cut back most of my ornamental grasses too. I noticed that the Sandhill Cranes are flying back to Canada. That's always a sure sign of the spring.

Doug had to take the Chevy Aveo to the dealership today. It had a defective shifter. There has been no recall but if you get on the internet, it is a common issue. We were charged nothing to fix it.

I went shopping at Wally-world and Aldis. Then to the bank to deposit a check and to Taco Bell. I needed gas. In the city it was $2.60. At the little town not too far from my house it was only $2.46. That means that it is probably around $2.46 in Indianapolis. Makes no sense to me.

Tonight we are going to see Blindside. My good friend has some free passes and this is the last week it is showing. Doug and I will go to Dog & Suds drive in for some coney dogs first. My friend said that she can't eat something like that before a movie 'cause she'd have to go to the bathroom too much.:lmao:

Speaking of which, my good fried, let's just call her GF from now on, chewed out my boss this weekend. She's a supervisor with another department. It's a department that we work with very closely. My boss is an idiot and said something about her he shouldn't have said. It got back to her.:rolleyes1 She picked up the phone and called him at his house.:rotfl2: It was hysterical! It's probably a safe bet to assume that I am on his @#%*!! list!:confused3

Tomorrow Doug will start his therapy. I am going to get the Honda washed so we can put it in the local paper for sale. Mine needs a good bath too. As long as the roads out here are mud, it's no use trying to keep it clean. I need a mud buggy! I'll be cooking up some enchiladas too. :goodvibes Must be a Mexi-feast kinda week around here!

That's all for now! :grouphug:

See, I knew you'd flinch. :rotfl: I've just never really done my own. I do use canned pintos rather than canned refritos sometimes, and just mush 'em around... :rolleyes1

Recipe? :flower3:

Let's see....

I use about 2 pounds of beans, throw then in my crockpot and fill it with water. Then I'll add sea salt and about 8 garlic cloves. That's it. If I need them for that day, I'll cook them on high for 4-5 hours, if not I'll put them on low all day. Just remember to keep tasting the liquid and season as you go along.

I ususally get 4 or 5 containers of whole beans that I freeze. Then if we want "refried" beans, I'll just mash them up once I'm cooking them. I don't technically "refry" them, KWIM? We usually just eat them whole (en la hoya) and mash them when I'm making tostadas.

Kristel - Sounds like fun - I loved that movie!

I like Graham Norton, see I am English :yay: :rotfl2:
