Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

I've been in a grump today, remember ages ago I had a garden swinging chair delivered and it was faulty as it wouldn't fit together properly. Well 4 phone calls and 3 emails later (over the last 4 weeks) I still haven't actually spoken to someone from the company, I've contacted my cc company to put in a claim and went to citizens advice today only to find out it's been shut and they now do weekly appointments it's just so annoying!!!!!

Yesterday I had my solar garden lights delivered and the fairy ones are so cute, they're solar powered too, not sure where I'll put them though. Anyway today I took delivery of the football survival kit and OMG it's funny.

I can understand the annoyance at all of that. Hope you get it resolved soon.

The lights sound cute. I'm sure you'll find the right place for them. The survival kit sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

Crazy busy at work. Prison overcrowding means they are letting tons out, which means tons of work for me.
I did speak with the counselor at Jimmy's school and she is going to work with him for the enxt couple of days before school ends to help him with the transition so that should help:thumbsup2

Flyers lost:sad2: BUT...since I was saying they should have lost the last game of the season so they would miss the playoffs and get a decent draft pick, I can't complain. They went much further than anyone thought they would.

Tons more work and they will be just as crowded in 6 months. Jim's favorite quote is that they never run out of satisfied customers.

Nice of the teacher to help Jimmy transition. That can always be such a big help.
The Flyers did lose but they barely got into the playoffs. I was surprised that they went as far as they did. Oh well there's always next year.

My nephew weighed 9lbs 14.5ozs. :eek: He's having a little difficulty taking deep breaths, so they are keeping an eye on his lungs, but my sister doesn't think it's anything to worry with.

That's a big boy. My daughter was in an incubator when she was born for the same thing and she was fine. I'm sure he will be also.

The pics were cute.

Please don't think I'm being harsh but it really sounds as though she needs to stand on her own 2 feet more, plus your children have grown up and you should be enjoying time for you :hug:

Glad you're OK and that you can laugh about it :rotfl2:

I don't think you're harsh at all. I have slowly been pulling back to encourage her to do just that. Unfortunately her whatever he is is the type that wants to isolate her completely from all family and keep them totally to him. We are a close family and that will not happen so for now I have to be involved. I do take my vacations to recharge. I have a mini one in August for my birthday down the Jersey shore and then Disney again in Oct. I will also tell her occasionally that I want a day and to figure something out.

Yes I can laugh at myself, I have reached that age in my life where I don't get as easily embarassed by the dumb things. I must have looked a sight falling backwards out of the car. A few scrapes and bruises but I'll survive.

Tomorrow is baseball and cleaning. At some pint Jimmy and I have to get out to get Jim his birthday gift (His birthday is Sunday). New coffee pot (his died in the middle of making a pot on Wednesday:headache:) but I need to fugure out something else to get him. Then next week is father's day, so I have to think of something for that too.

Don't you love birthdays and fathers day together. A coffee maker is always a good present. I have baseball tomorrow but just my grandson's game and that's enjoyable.

++++++
Afternoon everyone. It is nice and sunny here today but not humid so I can deal with that.

My baby boy is 28 today. I swear I don't know where the time has gone. It seems like yesterday that he was a baby. He has given me a lot of ups and down through his life. He was a father at 16, dropped out of school had agoraphobia. Now he has 2 wonderful boys and is an amazing dad. Fought for the older one with his ex GF and sees him all of the time. He got his GED and now works as a Correctional Officer. He overcame the agoraphobia although he is still a homebody. I am so proud that he is my son and that he is an amazing son, father and husband. I will be there tonight to help celebrate his birthday with him, until I leave for the graduation party, but will then go back over there.

Now that I have been all gushy and emotional I hope you all have a great afternoon.

Good Afternoon to ALL!!!

Jo the snooty Golf Course that has the view of France sounds interesting if a little tooo Haughty!!

Angela Congrats on the new nephew andddddd will you be at Disney itself in October !!! Would love to meet up with you!!!

I was going to go for my C25K thing, but my iPhone's dead - I forgot to charge it last night. I know that sounds excuse-ish, but I need it to be working to do the app. :rotfl:
That sounds like a great excuse :rotfl2:

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. :wave2:
Hey you, check in more often :hug:

Then next week is father's day, so I have to think of something for that too.
When you think of something let me know :rotfl2:

I can now safely report on my "thing" earlier this week... I had applied for an interviewed for a position with another agency. The interview was the "thing" and it went well... but I decided not to pursue it further. Without going into too much detail, the work the agency does goes against my personal beliefs in many, many ways and I just couldn't justify it in any way. It';s a shame, because the people there are terrific. Good news is that I feel a lot better about where I'm at (assuming our current proposed budget holds and I still have a job next year...) and have a better handle on where I'd want to head if I ever leave. :thumbsup2
Glad it all worked out :hug:

Well I had a few wins today, first was an email saying I'd won centre court tickets at the AEGON Tennis next week, so wish CE and Angela lived here as I know they would have made good use out of them. Then I had a delivery and it was some goodies from the film Date Night. Well I was in fits as the first thing I saw were his and her pants :rotfl2: They're black and red with date night written on, boxers for him and briefs for her. Then there was a headphone splitter and a black holdall so those were good :thumbsup2

I then played 9 holes with D (it chucked it down all morning so I didn't play with my friend) and I played the worst golf ever :rotfl2: It got to be funny in the end :rotfl2:

Then I took Ellie to the Dr!!!! A few weeks ago Ellie got some strange brown marks on her knuckles, we took her to the nurse last week and she didn't know what it was but prescribed a cream and told us to go back in a week. Well we went back today but I made sure we saw a Doctor and the marks have been caused by bleeding under the skin, she also has a small mark on her lip. Anyway the Dr said she needed urgent blood tests(Monday) and an urgent consultation (Thursday) to discuss it. So urgent that she made them in school time when she doesn't like kids missing school!

I'm not googling and have been all cheerful around Ells but keep thinking it must be really bad to call for urgent tests :sad1:

So all your good thoughts/prayers would be appreciated and hopefully it will turn out to be nothing serious!

Jo: sending all our love and good wishes across the pond. :hug: for you. We're here for you.

GOOD thoughts Jo:goodvibes:hug:

MEL=dental floss killer?
:confused3

Where is everybody?

:wave2:

++++++++++++++++++++

Hi all. Came home fom work yesterday. Played a game of Disney Monopoly with Jimmy and hd dinner. About 7:30 or so I went upstairs to get changed and get stuff ready for jimmy's bath and I crashed. Slept until 7:30 this morning:eek:

Jim and Jimmy just left for baseball and I am on my third load of laundry and getting ready to tear apart the upstairs for a good cleaning. Then Jimmy and I will go out later to get Jim's Birthday present AND a father's day gift (no Jo, no ideas yet:confused3) I may have Jim meet us at Applebees after we are done shopping for dinner since I know I won't be in the mood to cook or anything afterwards.

Hope eveyone has a good day. I am sure I will be checking in later:goodvibes:hug:

I'm with Mel where is everyone?!?!?!?!?!??!

Thanks for the good thoughts Mel and Janet, I keep thinking it can't be too bad if she wasn't sent straight to hospital :thumbsup2

So it looks as though we can all remain friends after the 1-1 draw in the World Cup :rotfl: You were lucky though our keeper was rubbish :rotfl:

Today I just spent gardening and I had another win - coupons for a years supply (almost 2,000) tea bags :rotfl2: Actually at least it's a handy prize, might last us 2 years though as only David drinks tea : lmao:

Jo, you're probably the only British person I know who wouldn't be thrilled for the tea!

You know I'm sending good thoughts your way, too. :hug:

Janet, hope you've had a fun and successful shopping day. :thumbsup2

Hi, Mel!

I read along yesterday, but can't remember when last I posted. :confused3

Anyway, this morning was fine - we all slept in some after going out to see Shrek last night, then having, still, pizza and a movie here (we'd seen the matinee, so were home by 6:30.) D & I then also watched our latest Netflix movie - that's 3 in a day! :lmao: and thus went to bed fairly late.

It was rainy and kind of ick this morning, but we had the baseball game anyway. For the most part, it was a light shower of rain through most of the game - one inning got a little harder, and one seemed pretty dry, comparatively - and then have just been hanging at home all afternoon. D's trying to finish up at least screwing in the drywall before he leaves tomorrow. But, it's not taped or "mudded" or anything, so we're still a ways away from done. :rolleyes:

Woody was chosen as one of the two 8 year olds from our team (we only have three, and Buzz was the one NOT picked) to do the All-Star game for the league, which is tonight from 8-10. :faint: We do often stay up later on a Saturday, but in the rain... :headache: Buzz is fine with not playing, btw - he had actually said earlier in the morning on the day we found out, "H and Woody are best, but I'm third," and when he found out we could only send 2, he totally got it. (He's right, too - I know I've said before, he has fun, but Woody is far and away always more athletically inclined.)

Anyway, we have to be at the field at 7:15 for that, so I suppose at some point here I need to think about dinner. I have no interest in cooking, but we don't have time to go out, and we went out last night (or brought in, but you know what I mean) so.... :rotfl:

Hope you all have a good night! Wish me luck staying dry. :thumbsup2

Hi girls! :wave:

I've been reading, but haven't been posting... I know...bad T. :guilty:

Anyway, Jo - I'm sending good thoughts for Ells. I'm with you though, if it was serious, they'd have sent you straight to the ER. :hug:

Off to drop the kids off at Andy's DS house for the night. We're going to a friends 40th birthday party tonight at a Latin/Cuban Club. Looking forward to shakin' my change maker! :lmao:

Have a good weekend! :hippie:

Have fun, hon! :)

***********************************************
Postponed the game until tomorrow evening, which is great except that D will miss it - he flies in the morning. :( To Hawaii. :rolleyes:

So, he kept working and we have all but one small wall in, and I've just made a Thai red curry that smells fantastic for the two of us - the boys had nuggets earlier. :rotfl:

Hey Fockers!

I've declared it Lazy Sunday in the puggymom house!

Love to see video of T shaking here money maker:lmao:

Jo - fingers, toes and paws crossed for you and Els. I agree, if it was real serious they have her in the hospital.

Also, saw your post about the soccer, since I'm still not sure what nationality you are, though I know not a Brit, are you saying you are a Yank?:confused:

hi Janet, CE and everyone else!

Going to upload the pics for day 3 of my trip and get the next installment up today!

Hello Fockers!

Jo I'm thinking of you and Ells!!!

No time to update, sorry. I'm off work for a week so I'll try to get here later.
Today I start my deck project. Doug's nephew is coming over to help me dig the holes for the concrete. We've got an auger to do it but I need help.

We have to get rolling on SS disability for Doug too. I'm sure that will take half the day.

I guess I'm sayin' I'm very busy.

Hugs to all of you!

Day 3 was either a free day in Rome or a side trip to Pompeii and Naples. I took the optional trip along with my new friend Barb. The bus was maybe half full so it was nice to spread out while making the 2 hour drive. On the way down we passed the Montecrissino monastery made famous for the battle in WWII.

The city of Pompeii is above sea level and you need to walk a fairly step walkway to reach it.

The advanced living conditions that they had are remarkable, including plumbing. Also the size of it is amazing too.

Look at how advanced they were with the take out place…

ry%3D400

Yes, in the middle of the ruins they had a food place:sad2:

But other than that eye sore, very interesting place to visit

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

These white slabs are marble and that's what the streets were made of

ry%3D400

Remains found in the ruins

ry%3D400

The murals on the wall were store signs to state what was sold there

ry%3D400

Living room, with the private garden behind it

ry%3D400

This small pool was in a foyer of a house, it was used to catch rain water

ry%3D400

A brick oven at a restaurant

ry%3D400

if you look closely at what is above the doorway you can see that a prostitute lives here. Yep they even advertised back then. The term red light district comes from this time. The woman would put a latern out to tell other customers she was otherwise busy.

ry%3D400

This mural is an early beware of dog sign

Many artifacts found on the site, including more remains.

The court

We were given some free time for lunch, I had a yummy gnocchi and flushed it down with some gelato.

It was then off to Naples. It drove through a rather run down part of down and saw some bombed out buildings. The guide explained they were like that from WWII. In 65 years no one has had the initiative to fix them???? The first floor is fine and that’s where folks live.

I said to Barb, at home we call that the ghetto!

It was worth the drive as we eventually made it to his beautiful square

And then a stop at the beach for pastries.

On the way back to Rome there was a decent thunderstorm, but by the time we got back to the hotel the sun was out.

That night there was a farewell to Rome dinner at the hotel. I sat with my 4 new friends and there were lots of laughs. This was also where we decided we were going to take over the back of the bus. See at this point there was only the one time the whole group was on the bus together, starting tomorrow there would be a seat rotation so everyone would have a chance to sit in different places. We approached the tour director and requested the 5 of us not be split up. She was thrilled as no one likes the back. Barb, Tracy and me took the last row, which was 5 seats and Camille and Steph took the seat on the left in front of us. We were now known as the Back Seat girls (or the fun, rowdy group). I have to say how lucky I was to meet up with these ladies. We had a blast together.

As dinner ended Barb announced it was gelato time, grabbed my arm and we were off. I had a berry with dark chocolate chunks that was to die for.

When we got back the other back seat girls were in the bar and we sat and talked for awhile before heading up to bed.

That sounds like a great excuse :rotfl2:

Hey you, check in more often :hug:

When you think of something let me know :rotfl2:

Glad it all worked out :hug:

Enjoy :goodvibes

Anyway, Jo - I'm sending good thoughts for Ells. I'm with you though, if it was serious, they'd have sent you straight to the ER. :hug:
Thanks :goodvibes And yes reading and not posting is not allowed :rotfl2: have fun dancing!

Thanks Rosie :hug:

We had a nice family day, we went to a park for a long country walk and a picnic.

Ells is very scared about tomorrow but we have her numbing cream so in theory she shouldn't feel anything. I'm such a wuss with needles though so the nurse may have to pick me up :rotfl2:

I guess I'm sayin' I'm very busy.

Take care of yourself! :)

Well, the pool party in the 63 degree rain was interesting :rolleyes:, but the pool was heated, so the kids had a blast.

We stayed a few hours, then came home and relaxed a bit, then went off to the All-Star game. I was supposed to have to coach, since D was away, but enough teams sent coaches that I didn't have to. :thumbsup2 Woody did very well, and Buzz had fun with H's sister at the park, so all was well. They are showering now and it's not even too late for a school night.

We're all feeling shocked that it's the last week of school, in some ways, but also happy. I'm ready to find out who'll be their teachers and so forth.

I don't think I have any tennis planned this week - SHOCK! :faint: :rotfl2: - and now that baseball's over, it should be a quiet one. We're having a volunteer appreciation tea Thursday morning at school, but that's about it, besides karate for the kids. Woohoo! I may get some more house stuff done, which would be nice. :thumbsup2

I keep thinking it can't be too bad if she wasn't sent straight to hospital

::yes::

That was a WEAK goal that he gave up Jo ::yes::

That's good that Buzz was good with it. He can hang with Jimmy;)

Off to drop the kids off at Andy's DS house for the night. We're going to a friends 40th birthday party tonight at a Latin/Cuban Club. Looking forward to shakin' my change maker!

Mo - LOVING the Italy report! :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning all!
2 weeks.
2 weeks.
2 WEEKS!!! In just 2 weeks, I will be on vacation! :banana:
Poor Leo's still low on energy. That flu-thing really must've knocked him out. But he's having fun with camp, so that's good. I've got lots to wrap up at home and work. Nothing else exciting to report.
Happy Monday! :grouphug:
Good Morning:goodvibes It is the last week of school:cool1::woohoo::yay:, not that I am excited or anything:rolleyes:
The weekend wound up being fairly busy. Saturday Jimmy and I went out and got Jim his birthday presents (a new coffee pot, a watch and a T-Shirt) then we picked him up and we went to Applebee's for dinner.
Sunday was the closing mass for Jim's old school (The school is closing as of Friday). It ws sad, but at the same nice to see so many people we hadn't seen in so long. Then we wound up going over to our friends house and hung out with them while the kids swam. We didn't get home until almost 9pm:eek: Luckily the pool tired Jimmy out nicely and there wasn't a battle at bedtime:thumbsup2
Today I will be leaving at 3pm to take Jimmy to his OT appointment. TOmorrow is Jimmy's awards assembly, so I will take a couple hours vacation in the morning so I can go to that. Then Friday I am off for the last day of school. We are having a water ice party for the kids and then after school I am going to take Jimmy to see Toy Story 3.
Nice quiet week:rolleyes1
HAve ag ood day everyone. BBL:grouphug:
