Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Dial a notice is where you call the funeral home and a recorded message lists the people who have died that day and what services are being arranged for them.

No--this cruise is mom, me, and friend Dedra. Mom has never cruised before and I think she will like it.

Hi there! I miss you!

My DH comes home from England tomorrow. He gets to work from home next week and it's our fall break W-F. :cool1:

I've been in the midst of a b-day party drama. We're having DS's party this Sat. He asked for a...

Wait for it....

popcorn::

Reading party.

:confused3

He's not my child... I only birthed him. :)

So he's been reading the Ga'hoole series (currently on book 9 of 16). My girlfriend recommended that I bring the kids to see the new movie, and filled me in that some theaters have private viewing rooms with party rooms. Who knew. :confused3 Not me. The best part is you can bring in your own food, just not pop, because they have a license with Coke.

So we're doing a private screening of Gaurdians of Ga'hoole, which I booked 3 weeks ago. Yesterday the theater called and informed me that they will only be showing the movie in Imax and the private theater room doesn't have IMax. After hours of calling and negotiating, I found a theater to do it, but had to move the party to 9:45AM. The location is 45 minutes from home, which I have profusely apologized to parents for when I called to tell them about the change. The plus side is that it's in a great shopping area, so the moms can drop their kiddos off to me and go shop their hearts out for next 3 hours.

Ok- Other news------

I'm going to WDW in 3 weeks from tomorrow!

But I didn't make the Round 2 cut for the mom's panel. :sad1:

Thought I'd share...

Put me with Rachel as a terrible Focker. Life is so hectic lately, I'm broke and I have NO time. LOL

Janet: I am so sorry to hear about your mom. The night we went to meet her was her Bingo night, so we never got the pleasure. However, so many people came to our table and told us funny/nice things about her. They genuinely loved her.
And, family is such a PITA. :headache: We love you though!

I'd bore you all to tears with what I've been up to, so I won't bother. Yay! :dance3: For all those who are leaving soon to their happy place.

It's cold here now. Today's high is 55 degrees!

Obviously, that has addled my brain so we just planned a two week trip to FL for Xmas!! :rolleyes1 One week at Marco Island (V: I am counting on you to let me know what I SHOULDNT miss....) and then Xmas eve, Xmas, day after with the In-laws and then 4 days at Vero (I hope, but don't KNOW because the dang DVC ressie system/phones have been down!!!) and then flying home on Dec. 29th.

Angela: Meeting us?????? :lovestruc

Love all you guys, especially when I saw all our "veterans" come out of hiding to post to Janet. We are a family.

So after all the drama about getting Jimmy's doctor's appointment changed, he informs me last night that "there is absolutely no way that I am mising picture day" [Who taught him those words:eek:). After talkng with Jim and my dad, Jimmy isn't going t come to the memorial service. :faint: Can I have a drink now???

Thnks for being here to vent to, yo guys are the best:hug:

Janet, don't they have a make-up day for pics? I just can't imagine him missing the service. It's his grandma. I would worry that he would regret that when he gets older. :confused3

I don't think so Dawn. He isn't even compehending what s going on. There is not going to be a body, she has been cremated.

I'm sure it'll be fine, Janet. I have to say, my first grandparent passed away when I was in college, and I don't remember the service at all. I think of her fondly fairly often, and that's a good thing. :goodvibes

What I remember about the time around her death is the annoying family stuff... Go figure.

Getting ready to head off to an "unofficial" tennis match with another club. Since the formal league isn't staring our at-level schedule until January, the various club captains got together and we're having a friendly one today. :thumbsup2

Janet, you'll be in my thoughts today. The rest of you, have a happy Thursday. :grouphug:

I agree. Evan went to Grandpa Leo's service and saw his body from afar. Afterwards, all he could talk about was "Grandpa's body". I really didn't think he would comprehend what was going on, but he did. He still talks about it, 2 years later. :guilty:

Thinking of you today, Janet.

That's what I was thinking T. I also think that her being remaed will just confuse him even more:confused3 Ugh, this stinks:sad2:

So now I am tacky for putting the information up on facebook becae that was thebest wa for me to reach the most people without making 9 million phne calls:sad2::mad:
You are not tacky at all

Janet I wasn't allowed to go to my uncles funeral aged 12 and the girls didn't go to their Grandma (my step-Mum) funeral 4.5 years ago because I didn't want them too. They did however go to the "party" afterwards so they could remember the good bits. Jimmy will be fine whatever happens

We are family, I got all my sisters with me....
:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 That's singing not trampolining ;):rotfl2:

That may not be a bad thing. I didn't go to my grandfathers funeral when I was his age. Vent away, it always helps.

Janet My grandfathers died 2 years apart when I was 6 and 8. I had no concept of death when the first one died and used his death as a show and tell that week. My teacher was horrified. I thought he was coming home any day.
Two years later when the other one died my parents took me to the viewing. It took me until my 40's to get over it. I had a better understanding because of the earlier death but that image is still burned into my memory. Of course the fact that his hands moved was a little freaky. No I did not imagine it my gram confirmed it years later. They went from holding a rosary to being apart. You know Jimmy and what he is like. If the pictures are more important to him then sending him to school is absolutely the right thing to do. I forced my son to go to my grandmothers funeral when he was 15 and it was the worst decision I ever made. He remembers her dead instead of the way he wants to - sitting in her chair, beer in hand watching the mummers parade.
What I am trying to say is that there is no right or wrong decision. Only the best one to be made at that point in time.

Hi all.

I have 7 days. I am now in complete panic mode. This is normal for me. I am worried about what to pack, when to pack and then have nightmares that I get to Disney and forgot to pack. :lmao: Last night I dreamt that I forgot to pack, are you ready - FOOD. I don't know why. I am flying and other than some snacks I don't pack food. :confused3 I will survive, I think. :rotfl2:

I didn't make it to the second round of the mom's panel either but then again I didn't expect to so all is good. I don't think a grandmother fits their demographics.

My brother finally told me that his wife is expecting but I'm not allowed to tell anyone. I know none of their friends so who will I tell? She is due around my dad and my grandsons birthdays in April. My mom asked how she's feeling and he didn't know. He said he doesn't ask his wife because she'll tell him and he doesn't want to know. This is going to be very interesting to watch.

Not much else going on around here. Hope you all have a good day.

thinking of you today Janet:hug::hug:
