Well, finally got on this morning, after going up and down ALLLLL Day yesterday and again last night. Stupid Comcast says if it rains it disrupts service, and my comment was not for human consumption (g) In fact Kelly was so tired of hearing me complain, that he shut the bedroom door so he could have some quiet!

Anyhow, I am back again for the time being, until the next batch of t-storms rolls in....

So the cool news is Kelly and I were talking and he said to me, well we really need to get you to Disney so you can see the Christmas Decorations and see the hotels and such. I said, really?...So could we go like around Dec 5-9th o so? He laughed and said...oh something going on then? I said well there is this "little" meet going on and we can see a few friends. He laughed again and said if you'd like we can go, as long as we keep it low key this trip.

LOW KEY? ME???? MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So i need to decide if we really are going to Mousefest or not...decisions, decisions... Reason that stops me from wanting to go, is we are going home to my family for Christmas (Kelly has never been to Maine in the winter!) AND...AND....he want to drive from here to there! Oh boy...

Oh btw...for the person who asked...I am NOT really artisitic...in fact got a stack of LGMH's sitting here for me to do something with them...what to do what to do...

Hi Mike--I feel your pain about the rain--I have satellite internet up here in the mountains and it goes out with any form of precipitation....

So, that's a long drive from GA to Maine--but I do think you could swing by Orlando "on the way"!

I would love to go in early December as the rates and crowds seem to be good, but the kids are in too many Christmas activities to break away then. Someday though!

Is that a paw print in your siggie?? Cause you are required to post pet pictures and have our Pugmeister review them!

Borg - I was thinking the same thing! Should we wait till we've got a date, or start a thread for figuring out a date? And, really, how likely is it that it'll be A date anyway? I know Labor Day weekend only works for some folks and doesn't work for others... maybe we need a few Laup-fests scheduled for next year?

I think we should wait until we all have our dates. But I agree, we may need more than 1 Lapu-fest.

As for me, I'm pushing for the weekend of 8/16-17, as it's the only option in which I'll have DS with me. And I know how much he enjoyed playing with the other kiddos - I'd hate for him to miss out.

D'Oh! I'll have to go back and check out those dates, as we'd hate to miss seeing you and Leo.

Now, I am trying to talk Rob into letting me fly down for a couple of nights just so I can meet up with you all. Really doubt it but you never know... anyone out there have room for one? Is V reading this maybe, huh????

I really want to stay at the Poly sometime--and it is DHs dream place too---but he WILL NOT go in August. I have actually resorted to seeing if there are any medical conferences that I could attend at that time so then it would be a "work" related trip! (no comment on the fact that I am currently unemployed! ). But you can get good room rates as part of a conference!

Any luck on that? As guess what I'd love to meet you too

Ok folks-- I have been sitting here surfing for rates and talking to AAA and CRO all morning cause I feel that strange itch to plan a Disney trip (imagine that! I wonder why--it's not like I'm addicted to Disney and spend a "few" minutes every day on the DIS??? )

Anyway--WITHOUT consulting the rest of my family, I thought an early Feb vacation would be nice.......and it snows here during that time........and the kids MIGHT get out for snow days........so...........
I grabbed a room only 2/2-2/8 at the CBR with a AAA rate of $119/nite...........whew--I feel so much better getting that off my chest..........

So--I need some encouragement from my DIS friends (yeah--right--like I am sure y'all will DIS-courage me from planning a trip! )


Anyone stayed here??? I would love the POLY but it costs $289 so really above the budget.
Advice please--I've only stayed at CSR and the Hilton.

Our school starts August 11. Can't you do the Lapu fest in June - say 2nd week?

TE - we stayed at CBR once and did not like it. Mainly because the buses took forever. It is a huge resort and I believe there are 5 stops within the resort before you even leave for the parks. They do have a bus that travels, just to get you around the resort - so easy to get to the pool and food court.
Many people like CBR, though. Of course, if it was there or no where, I would choose there. I would probably choose CBR over most of the values. DH HATES the values, but we liked our short stay at ASMu.

Really TE....I think that is completely selfish to be planning a Disney trip without me. LY/MI

Anywho, Rob & I stayed at the CBR on our honeymoon. We liked it just fine. We were in the Jamaican Me Happy section. I mean Jamaica section (We made our own selves happy ). If you want any specifics from me I'll be glad to tell you all you want to know. I'll even give you my email if you PM me!

WL has 2 pools. There is the main pool and a quiet pool by the villas, which anyone can use. Our room had a view of the quiet pool. The ferry is nice going to MK. The themeing is excellent. If you must "slum" it, POR really is very very nice.
