Ok, so I have to plan my dates around Jo's because she's the most unflexable. And I say that with nothing love Jo! I'm looking at dates between 8/22 & 9/1.

Now here's my dilemna. If we stay at the Poly, then we can only do 7 nights/8 days Garden View. Or we can do 7 nights/8 days at WL or AKL Conceirge or 9 nights/10 days WL or ALK standard room. OR 13 nights/14 days at POR/FQ Now what would you do?

You know what, I'm kinda hoping they don't do free dining! It was way more crowded when the free dining people got there. I know I'll catch flames for this, but oh well. If they do have free dining, I plan on coming and going before it starts.

Was POFQ that bad that you wouldn't consider 2 weeks? You are making me nervous as I am staying there in 3 weeks!

If POFQ is out, why don't you go for WL and 10 days. I do love concierge, but if it means shortening your trip, you don't get that much bang for the buck. Also, do you have AAA as those rates are out for 2008. Now with that said, I am staying RPC at GF for 3 nights (before switching to a DVC 1 bedroom), and yes it is costing me, but this is a once in a lifetime trip for my goddaughter and I will admit concierge and the breakfast offerings are great in the morning with getting the kiddies going.

I too don't want free dining, I have the DDE card and with DVC you can't get free dining and since I am staying concierge the other nights, I already get breakfast and snacks included.

I would stay at the AKLstandard room. Nice amount of time at a nice resort.

Hey--I saw this on Photo bucket--I think I will try it with a real pumpkin this year. How do you think I could make the ears??

I would say take the ears of an ears hat and use them. You could use straight pins to secure them.

Hello all ......I am getting close to My Trip...

I just wanted to let you know that I have been reading all of your Posts...& I must say that you Ladies...& Men...are some of the Bes test Posters in the Whole world ....& that Y'all have some of the Greatest things to say..I mean like trying to decide which resorts to say at...& what time to go...I shall say that we will be going in April & Sept. & maybe in December!!!

But I will be Dreaming of you guys going in August/Septembers!!

This seems to be a reality! I've lost track, though - who'll be there again? Is it too early to establish a weekend, if not a day?! I'm ready to book, baybees!

Here's my availability:
8/14 - 8/17 (DS5 starts school 8/18, so we'd have to leave the afternoon of 8/17)

8/22 - 8/25 (I won't have DS that weekend, but need to be back by 4pm 8/25 to get him from school)

8/29-9/2 (Labor Day weekend - no DS again, so I'm free till afternoon of 9/2)

I could probably do either one of the 1st 2 weekends...after that Michael will be in school. How are the crowds Labor Day weekend? Crazy?

We can't book flights yet either, whihc means we can't really book a room until the flights are booked. Did you follow that Good because I didn't

We are looking at the 18th ot the19th to the 29th or the 30th.

I did order my 2008 passporter today. Got the deluxe version this time IT won't be shipped until around November 15th, then we can really get into the planning

I'd do the 9/10 at either WL or AKL...and if you're going to be on the dining plan, I definitely wouldn't stay concierge...kind of a waste to have all that food, etc. if you've already paid for it. Although, the turndown service is sweet...Mmmmmm....I dunno...

I loooooved both WL and AKL...and after this whole dilemma with Jo, I'd just flip a coin...they're both fabulous...

I'm going to start complaining about the heat...and hey - I can blame Jo (more) this time because she's unflexible...

I'm due to show up on the 17th at this point, but the date may change a little depending on what happens with dining. We're trying to stay for ten to fourteen days. I've done Labor Day before, and it was crowded, but not terribly. That was before free dining, so I imagine it would be pretty sardine-ish. V can fill us in.

Ok there should only be 3 choices: Poly for 7nts,WL concierge 7nts, or AKL 7nts. Just keep POR out of the equation...it will only lead to headaches...no matter how long the trip its not worth it to me.JMHO

With that being said I would do POLY or WL concierge. WIth the kiddies it is so much easier getting on the monorail or boat(you dont have to fold stroller for boat) than having to do the busses which I hate.
ALso agree with the others if you do free dining I would not do concierge as it does seem a waste with all the food.

Get your mind off POR/POFQ RIGHT NOW missy! You know you don't want to be there so why even consider it?
Next question: how are you guys with a smallish room? All else being Deluxified, was the size of your POFQ room okay? I ask because WL and AKL rooms are significantly smaller than Poly's. If that's cool, I vote for WL STILL one of my Top 3 WDW resorts. Do you get anything significant with Concierge level?
Can I throw a couple more thoughts out? What about a bunk bed room at WL or AKL? Frees up some space in the room. Also, what about renting DVC points? The whole process scares me, but lots of other folks seem to manage it okay!

Surprisingly, not bad. Not empty, but with a good Plan it was totally manageable. Labor Day itself was DEAD!

Yes, but our condo in Destin is cheaper after 8/9 so he would want to go there. We are finally living in nice summer temperatures (after TX and SC) but the winters are cold so it makes a little more sense to go down then. But ya never know!

No--I'm a good roomie and we would get along fine (plus I would LOVE a girls trip!) , but just can't plan that far in advance right now--every time I plan too far out for things, we end up moving so I don't want to jinx it!

I agree, they weren't bad at all for this year. We had 1 or 2 days that were REALLY humid, but that was it

Baseball - When we went home to visit my family in Portland, we flew into Boston to take in the sights. We went by a Red Sox cart in the mall, and I bought all kinds of things for my Rosie. Kelly (a die hard Braves fan!) bought a Red Sox shirt and Hat He still wears that shirt as it's his fav!

Ten: its Ten. One syllable. One pronunciation. However if you ask me how to say Oktobah, or whatevah then that's different Kelly still makes me say those two words more then anything else as he says my yankee accent shows through those two words more then anything else i say or do!

POFQ was a little on the small side for us. I need my chaise lounge and little sofa. Do they not have those at WL or AKL? I'll have to check out allears.
