You guys are so great.

I'm just struggling with this school stuff. Am I doing a good job? Is my kid going to need more than I can give her? Should I put her in public school?

I just feel like I can't school all of them and do a good job. I feel like I want her to be smarter than me. Am I neglecting the other kids needs to get her taught at the level she needs.

Even thinking or voicing these thoughts makes me feel like a failure and a traitor. :sad1:

I just have to say Jen you sure know the right things to say!

Dawn , Jenn's totally right! I can only hope to be as good a mom as all of you fockers, I truly admire you all!

Speaking of Mom's, today would have been my mom's 53rd birthday. It's a hard day, always is, so we just kinda kept busy in the house. I'm fine tho, just thought it was worth mentioning.

Anyways I am off to read some and hope KC can get of the XBOX soon. LOL.

I won't be around tomorrow due to our date...so everyone have a wonderful day!

CE-best wishes, sorry to hear your power is down.

Kat...forgot to give you hugs.

Have a wonderful anniversary!

Despite my office CALLING ME ABOUT WORK STUFF AT 8:30 AM!!! I didn't answer the phone and just sent a quick email to them saying I'll be happy to discuss things with them Mon... when I'm back on the clock. :teeth:

He, he! :rolleyes1

Oh I haven't told you about David. He was getting really bad pains at the base of his spine, he went to the Dr on Monday and they reckon he has an ingrown hair which has formed an abcess on his spine :scared: he's on antibiotics which thankfully are working otherwise it could be an op which would put him off work awhile and no work means no money :sad2:

I hope the medicine works!

The teacher who I subbed for last night...turns out his wife had a brain stem stroke. She is not doing well. They have been married for 40 years. Please keep them in your thoughts.

Scary.

I was sooooo tempted to run into AP and yell, "JANET'S MOM, ARE YOU IN HERE?" :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Katt, Happy Anniversary to you & KC!

You should have, she would have loved it!:thumbsup2 :lmao:

The only problem is that I had lost my voice. Everyone was making fun of me all week. I ordered a whiskey flight at Raglan Road and our waiter asked, "is that for your throat?" ;)

Hi all,

Still in heavy work mode. :surfweb: Now, I'm frantically busy with a cold.

Dawn- You should listen to Jen! She was talking straight.

Mel- Hope the eye gets fixed, and for good, this time!

Kat- Have a great anniversary! I just lined up a sitter for ours next Wednesday. I should be well enough by then. You have my sympathy and empathy regarding your mom.  We haven't made it to my mom's birthday since she passed away, but I expect it to be a rough one.

Back to preparation for a teleconference in a half hour. I'm hoping to head home early to get some rest and try to kick this cold before it sets in too strongly.

You a wonderfully, beautiful, amazing woman Dawn.

But, you are only one woman. Who cannot possibly hold herself to such high standards without cracking.

Do you try to be the best mother/wife/friend/woman/etc. that you can be for your loved ones?

The answer, of course, is absolutely.

That's enough. It will always be enough.

Perfection is unattainable. But, we can work to be loving, kind, wonderful people. And in that...OUR perfection will come. Whatever that may be.

You're amazing. We all see that.

Love ya'.
Wonderful words, Jen. And they apply to each and every lady here! :thumbsup2

T - :worship: How do you do it all??!!!
Oh honey, I don't! :rotfl2: Trust me, some things have to give and right now my house is being sacraficed. It's a freakin' mess and it's killing me! :faint: My computer room is floor to ceiling Brownie/PTA crap! What I can't stand to look at I throw in here! :lmao: I haven't even thought of putting up our CHristmas decorations until I get a handle on things. Which won't be until Friday!

SO, now the eye pressure is too LOW. I can tell because my vision is all wonky again. I'm hoping for a Christmas Miracle. Eyes that work!!!

Oh Mel - this made me so sad! :guilty: I don't know first hand how it feels, but my brother (who is deaf) has RP, which means he currently has tunnel vision and that tunnel gets smaller and smaller, and will eventually close, leaving him completely blind. When he was a kid, he wished for new eyes and new ears.
I hope you get your Christmas Miracle!

I read the last 5ish pages but let's test my memory:

Dawn:  Things happen for a reason, it will be fine. You're a wonderful mother, teacher, friend!

Mr. T - Hope you feel better soon!

Jo - Ew, poor David. That's pretty serious, hope he recovers quickly.

Kat - and Happy Anniversary to you and KC! :lovestruc

V - your work response made me :lmao: ! Good for you!

Jen - I think you are right getting Jon to the Dr. - maybe if he hears it from the doc, he'll start to eat, KWIM?

Angela - How's Reid doing?

Hi S'late! Hi Miz, Hedy, Rosie, Janet, Rachel and Katt! Hope I didn't forget anyone!

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

A few days ago, I got a letter from Evan's school saying Chicken Pox is going around. Both my kids have been vaccinated 2 times - BUT Evan started with a fever last night. Don't know if it's related, but I'm keeping an eye on him for any pox. Darn it!:headache:

Well, I'm almost done - there is light at the end of the tunnel. Only 3 more events and then I can relax.

It's cold and drizzly here - blech! I think I'll attempt to clean my house a bit and possibly get the Christmas decorations out of the shed. :scared:

Hope everyone has a Happy Friday! :flower3:

:lmao:

I'm in ISS duty. Someone...PLEASE entertain me.

Oh no! Jimmy was vaccinated and still wound up with the chicken pox, although it was a VERY mild case and only lasted 3 or 4 days!:thumbsup2

ONLY 3, eh!

Mitch's work party is tonight at Moonfish. I have no idea what to wear however. I won't be dressy but I like to look nice when I go out and most of his people just wear jeans all the time. I'm all for comfort, but it is a party.

Will do

i'm so glad the antibiotics are working! keep a good eye on it!:goodvibes
I will but not too close as it's right near his bum ;) :rotfl2:

Wierd! Tell David we hope he feels better soon.
Thanks :goodvibes

I hope the medicine works!
Me too!

I hope it takes a long long time to close

Me too, thanks!

We don't vaccinate for chicken pox here, we just let the kids get it!

I've added lots of photos to FB and have started loading the first day onto photobucket so I can start the TR :goodvibes

T, I am so right there with you! I'm feeling quite overwhelmed right now too. I've got a million things to get done and no time to do them in and on top of that, DD4 has caught another cold. She gets a really croupy cough every time she gets sick, so if she's coughing, Momma ain't sleeping.

We've got DD7's piano recital tonight and we absolutely have to go. I'm hoping DD4's good enough to go sit through at least DD7's performance. My mom told us last night that she and my dad weren't going to be making the 90 minute drive down for the recital tonight and that about broke DD7's heart. She cried herself to sleep. :sad1: It made me so sad to see her so sad. She would go ballistic if either her dad or I had to stay home with DD4. So, we're dragging her there. Maybe DH will take her home early if necessary. I ran out this morning and bought a red rose to give to DD7 from my mom after the recital. If only they lived a bit closer, she would have come down. But to drive 90 minutes to listen to one song and drive 90 minutes home is asking a lot! Try explaining that to a 7 year old who really loves her grandma though. :sad2:

So, DD4 is currently on the sofa watching TV from under the covers. I really hope she takes a decent nap this afternoon.

We don't have a Chicken Pox epidemic here, but we've had 17 cases of Whooping Cough appear in a local school system recently! They're suggesting that everyone get a booster! Of course, as I listen to DD4 coughing, that's all I can think about. :sad2:

Plus, we're supposed to go to Disney on Ice tomorrow with the in-laws and then DH and I have our Sunday School class Christmas party tomorrow night. I just hope she feels somewhat better after a nap and a good night's sleep. :headache:

Well, T, it's not cold and drizzly here, it's SNOWING again! Acutally, it's sunny and snowing! And cold. And don't worry, I don't have my tree up yet either! Too many things to do and not enough time! ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

 that must be really hard on him.

hope evan feels better soon and don't wear yourself out!:grouphug:

 Jodi. Popping in to try to entertain myself. ISS is death. Just to let you know.

I can't sit still. I have begun to walk around. Our school is so small that there is no ISS room. I'm in the end of a cold hallway with desks up against the wall. It's an ISS hall. :lmao:
