Hi everyone! :goodvibes

I just wanted to drop in quickly to say hi and distribute some hugs all around.
:hug: :hug: :hug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :hug: :hug:

I'm about 15 or so pages behind other than a quick skim, so I apologize for no direct call outs and quotes. I'm having a pretty hectic and stressful week between doing what work I have and trying to get more work. :sad2: I'm hoping things tone down as we approach the weekend, but for now back at it. :surfweb:

TTFN! :wave:

Since I got the okie dokie from Slate, I will reveal that the ornaments are from Michelle!:goodvibes

Love them Michelle and the braclet too....IT GLOWS IN THE DARK:cool1:

========================================================

V - Sounds like you and the teacher are on the same page and that is always a good thing!

Angela - Poor Reid. Hope he feels better soon. NOthing worse than a sick baby to make you feel hopeless!:hug:

TE - Hope everyone there feels better too:goodvibes Ancongrats to your cousin:love:

Dawn - Love the necklaces...I vote for the first one, even though you already bought one:rolleyes:

Jodi - Sounds like a fun day. The living history place sounds like something Jimmy would really like!

Question for everyone in/from Indiana - Who has been to Santa Claus Indiana? We saw a thing about it on the travel channel and it looks so cool. We are thinking road trip. Is it worth it!?

The living history place is great. In the summer, they have animals that you can feed/pet/milk, etc. and each building has people dressed up and playing the role. One section is from 1836 and the other is later - maybe the 1880s. It's fun.

About Santa Claus, it's a lot of fun. We went to Holiday World in August 2007. We drove down in the evening, stayed at a hotel and went to the park for one day and drove home that evening. It's a lot of fun. Very clean and very friendly. I don't think I ever saw a piece of trash on the ground! I think it's a lot nicer than Kings Island and places like that, but some of the rides aren't quite as flashy, if you know what I mean. They've got some really great roller coasters, but they're definitely for thrill seekers. There's a kiddie ride area that my girls had a ball in, but now DD7 is too heavy for the rides (under 60 pounds). The water park is awesome. They have free soft drinks for everyone and free sunscreen in the waterpark area, too. That's definitely a benefit.

I'm not sure I would drive from Philly for it though, unless you're really into the roller coasters. For us, it's about a 3 hour drive, so it was worth the drive. If it were closer, we'd probably buy season passes and go all the time. It's also out in the middle of nowhere Indiana. Not really close to anything else. However, if you decide to come down, you'll have to come through Indy and visit me and Kristel! :banana:

Well Imhave some NEWS !! :banana: We are going to Disney in Feb !!!!!!!!! The girls placed in the Canadian Cher Competition and qualify to compete in Disney in Feb. We took all about 2 seconds to decide we were all going !! DD said someone had to go with them so we decided we all would ! Now I have to figure out where the money is coming from!! DSIL better get back to work and snappy!:
that's wonderful rosie!!! just what you need!

It was quiet last night! Sorry Rachel. You finally come out to play and everyone's gone....

Bob and I spent last night trying to get caught up on our 3 taped episodes of Heroes. We only made it through the first one though. He is still getting really tired in the evening. I suppose it will take a while to readjust to the "USA" time!

Today is a day at home for me. Which is GOOD. I have to get my cards signed and addressed today. I also need to make some definite plans/lists for what I'm buying and shipping as it will have to go out soon to make it back home. We don't have the tree up yet, but it will get done this weekend.

What are you guys doing today?

(Anyone seen Mo or LL - lately?)

MEL:banana:
hi mel. it's okay, my 3 yr old wanted to watch mickey on the computer, so i got kicked off the computer

Hi everyone! Cute ornaments Janet. Today was supposed to be a home day, finishing cards, laundry, etc, but Reid is sick so Tantie, that's what he calls me , will be watching him. Have a good day.

i like the green one!!!
Morning lovelies!
hi jen!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who said that things always get worse before they get better?
They did. Leo's teacher called me yesterday because he refused to do work again yesterday. But I think we've identified what's happening:
A. He's testing limits. Normal for his age.
B. His teacher's really, really nice and didn't think he was doing it on purpose. I think otherwise and told her he does what he's told when I make it clear there's no other option. Read: she may need to get all "mean-momma-teacher" on him sometimes.
C. The work he doesn't want to do happens to be that with which he struggles the most - reading and writing. He has zero confidence in his abilities here, but only wants perfection. I'm convinced - and his teacher, upon hearing this from me, agrees - that he doesn't want to read or write in class because he's afraid of doing badly. Not wanting those subjects, or school in general, to feel like a chore, she gives them the option of skipping out sometimes. I explained that he gets no such options at home - that I insist on him trying and once he does, he finds that he can do it and is more confident the next time around. I suggested that she may want to take away the option of refusal for him in class, too.
So that's where we're at. Hoping today is an improvement!
it will get better v!! that's great the teacher is being supportive.
~~~~~~~
So, I'm off to meet my ladies Bible study group at Starbucks in a few minutes. Then it's home to clean a bit before DD7 gets home from school. They have a half day today. Then, we'll grab some lunch, pick DD4 up at school and we've decided to spend the afternoon at Conner Prairie, the living history place near my house. They have an interactive inside exhibit and also a Gingerbread House exhibit right now. Since we're members, we can go for free. None of the outdoor areas are open, but there's plenty to do inside to keep the girls busy for a few hours. Then, it's home to get the tree up!

Hope everyone has a great day!
hi jodi , have fun!

OMG! Did you see them?

Yesterday BA came home aggrevated that her art teacher had told her she needed to "totally restart" her painting as it was pretty bad.
She told the teacher that she was "artistically challenged"
Then the teacher told her not to smart talk! :rolleyes:

Good luck on getting caught up. I can never keep up with things here.:rotfl2:
Mary, how's K Diddle doing? ;)
He is doing better. He can walk a little quicker, but a turtle could still outrun him.
He is working from home today, tomorrow, and Friday. Back to the office on Monday. He didn't want to use any more time off because he wants to take a day off the week of Christmas. His company is on a paid time off bank that includes vacation days and sick days. He only gets 18 days a year. I had that many vacation days alone when I was working.

Thanks for asking about him.

Hey ladies! Anybody need a spanking?
:scared1:

Hi everyone :wave2:

I got home at 10am this morning, 5am EST. I did go to bed though as literally I only slept a few hours every night at WDW, the excitement was too much :rotfl:

For a huge hint of what I did on Sunday night look at my FB profile, it's someone elses photo as I haven't uploaded mine yet!

Jen and Angela it was so fantastic meeting the pair of you and I hope we can meet again :hug:

So what have I missed???????

Jo's Back:yay: :yay: :yay: So when is the TR startingpopcorn::

Jodi, thanks for the info on Santa Claus!

Mary - Glad DH is doing better. How longas he been at his job...I get 25 days V a year, but I have been here almost 20 years :faint:

Deb - Um, I'll pass...thanks!

Rachel and Slate- Hi! :wave2:

Jo's back!!! Now get started on that TR, we all NEED to know how it all went!!!

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

I am soooooo tired. I couldn't sleep, again last night, because its too hot. I got maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep and when KC got up for work I got up too. I have been watching movies all morning. Needless to say even after some coffee I'm cranky.

it's looking pretty grim outside so I'm avoiding going out even tho i have a few errands I need done. Meh!

How's everyone else doing??
