Ugh, I'm sorry CE. I can't give any good advice I'm afraid; there's a reason I don't ever want to be married again - I'm completely unwilling to work toward compromises in these situations. NOT the way to support a healthy marriage, lol!

Yeah... I don't know. On the one hand, his mom usually comes out right around this weekend of Dec. and she's not, so we won't see her for quite a while if we don't go. On the other, dang it, I just don't want to deal with going.

This sounds like my mother! Be all passive aggressive about it.

Well, yeah. She'll say things AS IF she's joking, like, "You're keeping my grandkids away from me?" but I know she half means it. Sigh. She was the perfect MIL until we had the kids, and since then she's gone over the edge.

Tough situation. I can totally understand your feelings on that. I like your idea of sending D by himself, but from his perspective, I'm sure he doesn't want to be there without you and the boys. I'm more about the family than dh is. Even though it is expensive, I would go if I could afford to purchase the tickets. They are getting up in age and you might regret it if something healthwise happens to them. You just never know what will happen.
Sorry if this is not any help. I certainly understand not wanting to spend that much on airfare, especially with Christmas expenses. Wonder if it would be cheaper to take a train?

The train is generally more expensive, plus it adds too much to the travel time, considering I only want to miss, at most, one day of school.

But thank you for understanding. I think part of my issue is that I'm feeling guilty about NOT wanting to go, but I really don't. We went to his 75th, but obviously the boys were 1 and school wasn't an issue, and I think we drove (and went to my mom's for a few days, too.)

This time, they gave him the shot and the nurse said it kicks in fast. He was giggling when she gave him a pill to take. Two more nurses came in and he told them to call him "Kdiddle" because "That's my rockband's name."

He kept blowing me kisses and asking me to give him kisses as they rolled him down the hall.

The stomach flu has struck me. I feel awful. Gus didn't make it to school, SD is ok and MIL is ironing.

The super actually came this morning and the hole isn't a hole anymore. They replaced the pipe upstairs from em so there should (in theory) be no more leak! He is going to come and paint it tomorrow.

We had a great time! Guess what we plan to go again..shocker I know. She loved it as much as me tho!!!

Well, I volunteered and then met my friend to shop. I got my aunt finished, something for my mom, finished the new baby girl, and grabbed small something for the MIL. I was desperately looking for a cool NH ornament for the exchange, but wasn't having much luck.

I didn't buy a lot, but at least I can mark a few more off my list, from my lonely one thing I had before today!

So that's good, and now I'm just waiting on the bus and then I'll go get my friend's girls to keep until their dad comes back with D.

But I need to run by the grocery, and I'm a little frightened of taking 4 kids. I don't think I have enough time to go and get back before the boys get home, though, and I'm not sure there's time before we're supposed to get the girls. We'll see when the bus actually pulls up. I just need some adult beverages for tonight and our playgroup dinner tomorrow, and then some pepperocini's for D for his leftover Italian beef.

Ack!

Anyway, I may be back whilst the kids are playing or watching the movie later, but it will depend on D's arrival, too.

So whether I was supposed to or not all my cards were mailed today! I still have to get an ornament for the ornament exchange. I may go out tonight after work. We'll see. I still have to get one more thing for Jim and something for his mom, his sister, his aunt, and his dad.

"Chris" Showed up for his money... or actually for me to pay the bills..
He was .. just not himself. I guess he realized the "Fat Lady had sung". We went to the bank and he signed all my papers.. they are "Notarized"
As soon as he signed.. I handed him two checks 1 for each bill made out to them.

He had a two hour drive here to get this. I doubt I hear from him again for money. I BELIEVE THIS DID IT.

. I found out today I lost an Uncle. Mom's Brother died ON Mom's Birthday. Funeral is Sunday and Visitation is Saturday evening.
It's a 5 hour drive and I'll be making it alone. Sarabeth has a Party Saturday and Her Dance Debut Sunday Morning. I may drive back home Saturday Night. NOT Sure right now.

There is only one left now out of that family. 13 kids.. all are gone but the baby. I have not been "Home" Since I buried Terry Next to Mom 6 years ago last month. My Aunt Delorus Looks and Sounds like Mom. I am NOT going to hold up well.

Off to Pack. I'll check back in later.

I saw that in Dear Abby also Angela, it was right after the Homecoming dance Sam went to a couple weeks ago. he asked a girl to go and she said yes, when he got there he showed up with another boy and didnt even talk to him! thats why I noticed that letter.

I'm so tired and out of it that I can't remember if anyone else needed hugs, but here are a few more....

I've had a headache since I woke up this morning and it's still hanging on. I did the auction thing this morning and won a few good items. First, I got an Indiana University sweatshirt for my nephew. I'm sure it's at least a $60 hoodie and I think I paid $24. Since I already bought him a Christmas present, I'm going to hold it for his birthday in January. I also got an hour's consultation with an interior decorator for $10 (she normally charges $50). I know the woman and her house is gorgeous. She will give you ideas of how to move the furniture around or what kind of art to buy, etc. Now I just have to figure out which room I want her to look at. I also won a one hour horseback riding lesson for $45 (value of $75). I'm going to hold on to this and give it to DD7 for her 8th birthday in May. I figure it will be warm enough to go riding by then as well.

I'm going scrapbooking tonight. I just hope I can stay awake long enough to get something done. Then, we've got the school's pancake breakfast and secret holiday shop tomorrow morning. Since I'm the PTO treasurer, I have to be there with cash boxes at 7:30am. I'm tired just thinking about it.

Hopefully I can fully catch up here tomorrow sometime. Hope everyone has a great Friday night!
