i've been gone for a few days and now i'm gonna get a little sappy on ya!!

i just wanted to say that you guys are great!! i've only been here since may, but you guys feel like a second family to me! a lot of times , i come here and talk to you girls about things before i even talk to my family. you girls really understand me!! i can't wait to meet you all someday!!:hug:

i haven't been on lately. been busy, but kinda also in a "funk". i don't know how you girls who have husbands that travel all the time do it! it's been hard being here all alone and trying to take care of 3 kids. then, when my husband does come home for the weekend, i have to go to work. i so wish i was a stressful noneater cuz i've gained about 10 lbs in the last few weeks!!:scared1:

then, mike calls me on thursday and says they have a big project and he has to work this weekend (last weekend). i guess this is what a real attorney job is like . :rolleyes:

so, i called my boss thursday right after i talked to him and explained that i would be unable to work fri and sat night. i told her i didn't want to lie and call in sick just to use my sick time. you know what she said?? well, it doesn't really matter , either way we have a staffing hole. wth?? :confused3 so i guess next time, i;ll lie!! istn't that crazy?? then , she proceeds to say that she doesn't know if she can continue to schedule me every weekend. (this is what i requested so i could continue to work while mike is in wv) i guess she was trying to threaten me, but i'm brutally honest , so i tell her, do whatever you have to do, i'll just have to put in my 2 weeks notice now because i can't work anything other than the weekend.

i ended up talking to my mom and she said she would keep the kids sat night, so i could work sat. and that way mike could see the kids a little over the weekend. my mil prob could have taken them over the weekend , but regan is having trouble with mike being gone all week. she comes home from school with cards she has made him, saying "daddy, i miss you so much i want to cry. i can't wait to see you on the weekend." there was no way i could take them to his parents and not let them see their dad. i can't believe my boss had to be such a witch!!

but ,, i put in my notice. my last day is dec 21st. i'm taking 2 weeks off and will start my new job in jan. hopefully, our house will be ready by then!!

so thank you all for being there for me! i appreciate it more than you know! :hug: :grouphug:

:hug: Rach.

I can't even imagine. You're such a strong woman.

And I agree. I come here for comfort...sometimes before I go anywhere else.

All of you are so wonderful.

Love ya! *sniffly sniff sniff*

I agree with you both, Rachel and Jen. I come here before I talk to my friends IRL all the time. :goodvibes

Jen & Jon- :hug: :hug: :hug: I'm sorry you both have to go through this.

Mel- I'm glad the pressure improved. That will hopefully make things less stressful for you all around. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for the pics comments. I was amazed the kids smiled after all the waiting we had to do. :sad2: I actually said "Say 'booty'" to Aiden because when he said cheese he looked like he had to poop. :headache: That's why he's grinning in his picture alone. :lmao: Boys... :rotfl:
I also appreciate the help on the contacts stuff. I'm taking Baylie to get some Monday. She doesn't know and will be so excited!!! :yay:
It's really late, so I'm off. I'll be around all day tomorrow. :thumbsup2 Good night.
I'm out of here Focker Friends. :cool1: My ticker is off for some reason...but I am really leaving TODAY! I am officially TOO TIRED TO SLEEP! :thumbsup2
I am looking forward to meeting Angela, V, Leo, Gramma, Jo and maybe i'll find...S'late!
It is TINKS B-day today! 4 years ago I brought that little spit fire into this world. She brings a lot of spunk to my life and I love her more than words can express. :cloud9:
Jen-:hug: for BOTH you and Jon! :hug: :hug: I am really sorry to hear about the health issues. :headache:
Dawn- Those are great pictures!
Everyone questioning the SHOT... Yikes! I too am not comfortable with it yet. I think ... Thalidomide! YIKES!:scared1:
I will get email on my phone. Let me know if anything comes up that I NEED to know about! :rolleyes1 :)
BYE BYE Friends! :hug:
have a great trip jen!!!
i can't believe i'm up this late. but, i updated my trip report. one day took me 4 posts cuz i had so many pics!!
i'm going to bed now!! i'm so tired.
hint, hint.............go read my tr!! :lmao: :lmao:
:hug: Rach.
Have a good day, all. I'm off to my last day at my current company.
I don't know. We'll have to see the ortho to find out.
G-luv, you need some of these as well. :hug: :hug: :hug:
TRAGEDY has struck. Jim took something out of the freezer and when he shut the door the crock pot leapt to its death and shattered into a million pieces :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Now on the black friday shopping list is a new crock pot! :sad2:
Picked up the turkey and other stuff from the grocery store, got Jimmy bathed and into bed so now I am going to go eat dinner and get some sleep.
I will check back in later!
Penneys will have their 6 or 7 qt crock pot for $17.99.
Just got home from the doc with Jon.
:hug: What a thing to go to the doctor and you're told something you're not at all expecting.
Sneaky crock pot! ;) I got mine on QVC, no fighting the hoards of people that way.
Hi Fockers!! I've been so busy lately, but just wanted to stop in and say Hi to all my DIS friends! :goodvibes
Glad you stopped by! :wave2:
My friend Yani and I volunteered to work @ the Madonna concert tomorrow. We'll get paid a little, but we get to see/hear the concert for free. :woohoo:
What will you be doing? One of my best jobs ever was working at an outdoor arena bartending. Being outside and seeing all the cool concerts. :woohoo:
i've been gone for a few days and now i'm gonna get a little sappy on ya!!
I know what you mean about DH being gone during the week. Mitch was working here for about 6 months while I was still in Memphis and it was awful. And I only had to worry about myself. :hug:
but ,, i put in my notice. my last day is dec 21st. i'm taking 2 weeks off and will start my new job in jan. hopefully, our house will be ready by then!!
That will be a nice vacation before you start your new job. :goodvibes How strange that your boss wouldn't work with you. I know a lot of hospitals that have two 12 hour weekend shifts. Seems like it would be easier scheduling on their part, but who knows?
Nope, at least not here. Katt's got this whole big long thing that includes eggs and stuff. Way too confusing for me:confused3
Eggs and stuff? No way!
::yes:: WAY !!!! Don't knock it till ya tried it.
There is two things to this day I STILL use the Cook book for... Making Fudge.. and Cookies. Especially Sugar Cookies.. they can be :headache:
I get lost if a recipe has more than 4 ingredients and requires multi steps. I just want to put everything in a bowl, mix, pour and put it in the oven.
I have a hard time with Rice-A-Roni....I dump everything in the pan and then realize I am supposed to brown the vermacelli first.
:headache:
S'late.. I worry about you.
I
I usually start with a mix in the bag sugar cookie dough! I know, me of all people! But i tend to make a carpload of cookies and its much easier to roll them out when you don't have to do too much to the dough. I amke soem home made and some out of the package cookies.
New Years resolution for Janet.. and maybe S'late... making cookies from a Bag Mix...." Baby Steppies" :tiptoe:
What a long freaking day! We were at the mall getting my eyes examined and getting the kids pics done for 3.5 hours! :faint: What a pain! :headache:
Now I'm thinking of resting, but I don't know how to work these dern contacts!
I can't nap with them in, can I? Are my eyes supposed to be blurry-ish and weird? I'm wondering if I should take them out and put my glasses back on... :confused3
Has anyone who wears contacts gotten them on-line? I'm wondering what the prices are vs. EyeMasters or something. :surfweb:
I'm going to trim my fingernails and take the contacts out. :rolleyes: My eyes are tired. :guilty:
Well... I see you have already gotten help on the contacts... I have ordered on line.. (Lens Express.. which I think is now 1-800 Contacts)
did it for years. Lately Wal-mart has been cheaper than the on line places.
I have worn them since I was 17. I can put those puppies in in the dark almost.
Scott has been struggling with them since 1999:rotfl2:
I will nap in them.. and shower in them... never do an allnighter. But the feeling of them "STUCK" on your eye.. is rough. and if you even think of "PEELING THEM OFF".. you wonder if you took some "EYE-SKIN" with the lens :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Dawn - I've worn contacts since seventh grade. At first I wore semi-rigid contacts due to my astigmatism, but now I wear soft toric lenses. I take naps all the time in mine, but when I wake up, sometimes they feel "gummy" for awhile.
I too wear a toric and a regular. THAT was a FUNKY FEELING. And NOTHING is thinner than those Bausch and Lomb. They were my first lens.. but back then.. they WERE the CONTACT LENS, and they tear just by looking at them .
I'm facing the possibility of Bifocals WHEN I make time to go to the eye doctor.
UGH... I hate getting old. They have a contact for bifocal users... I'll try it.. but I have heard they don;t work too well.
lost my mom just 3 years ago. Her birthday was Dec 11th, so that always makes the holidays harder. After she passed we went on a Christmas Disney trip in her honor!
My Mom's Birthday is/was Dec 3. :hug:
:sad1:
His CT scan revealed that he has no right sinus. That's why he gets all of the infections. There is no where for the yucky stuff to drain.
1. He has a small fracture on his right malleolus...which we can do nothing about. Just put him in a brace.
2. And...both tendons...on each ankle that keep the malleolus (ankle bone) in place have slipped and are now UNDER the bone. Not doing their jobs. So, there is nothing keeping his ankle up, basically, for lack of a better explanation.
He's going to need surgury. They sent the films up to his ped ortho and they want me to call first thing in the morning. Doc just called an hour ago and said surgury it is.
:sad1:
Send good thoughts.
Oh Poor Baby... and the Momma who has to watch her son struggle with nearly everything... I know you will keep us informed...:hug:
TRAGEDY has struck. Jim took something out of the freezer and when he shut the door the crock pot leapt to its death
And it was heard to say as it leaped to it's freedom.... Noooooo
No more 1 step meals... I'm bored... my circuits have no meaning... good bye cruel world...
Or maybe the story played out a little more like ... "A Christmas Story"
Janet was in the next room and she heard this horrific crash coming from the kitchen. As she rushed into the room Jim was there.. holding the broken crock pot...
"I don't know what happened.. I was getting something out of the Freezer.. and somehow... I Broke your Crock Pot" said Jim in a over dramatic sad tone.
Janet Snaps... "You did this on Purpose.. You are sick and tired of Crockpot meals...You know how much I loved this Crock Pot.. It must be fixable... where is the Crazy Glue and Electrical Tape ?"
We are all out... Said Jim apologetically
"YOU USED IT ALL UP ON PURPOSE... NOT A FINGER !!!....exclamined Janet as she left for the local hardware store
After a failed attempt to put her beloved Crock Pot back together.. she lovingly caressed it one more time... and Buried it in the back yard.. next to the cookbook that was given as a wedding present.. hidden so that NO MORTAL MAN would ever find.
A neighbor.. reported that she thought she heard Taps being gently played.. at about the same time as all of this took place.
After Janet had completed the sad task of saying goodbye to her beloved friend... she came in the house ... added a Crock Pot to her Black Friday.. shopping list and proclaimed..
"All Right.. let's all go out to eat"
i've been gone for a few days and now i'm gonna get a little sappy on ya!!
It is tough when our Hubby's are gone.Lately if Scott leaves for even one night.. Sarabeth goes NUTS... crying.. sending sad faces to her Dad over the phone. Making and drawing things for her Daddy to greet him WHEN HE DOES GET HOME. :sad2: And she HAS TO SLEEP WITH ME... :sad2:
So how can I go away and leave her... she will totally lose it. I am TRAPPED.
Sorry about that Work "Crape' " Your Boss sounds So Pleasant. I would have thought Weekends most people would want to avoid :confused3
Kiddo's get home at 12:30 and 1:30 today.. so I had better get to my house stuff pretty soon.
Morning. I have no idea why I'm up this early on a morning that I don't work...but I really couldn't sleep. Jon was up and down last night, hurting. Blech.
:hug: all around.
:wave: Have fun Jen!
Hope everyone has a wonderful, happy, HEALTHY, Thanksgiving Eve!
Hello ladies and gents.
Just got home from the doc with Jon.
His CT scan revealed that he has no right sinus. That's why he gets all of the infections. There is no where for the yucky stuff to drain.
Anywho...that's not the bad news.
Jon has been complaining for several days about his feet. Most of you know he has muscular and orthopedic issues, for which he wears braces. He has outgrown his latest set of braces...and we're waiting to go back to the ortho in a few weeks.
Well, just to be safe, I had the ped take a look at his feet. He's been in an ace bandage type thing to give his ankle more support. Well, she unwrapped his ankle and it was really swolen. She took x-rays...and we found 2 things.
1. He has a small fracture on his right malleolus...which we can do nothing about. Just put him in a brace.
2. And...both tendons...on each ankle that keep the malleolus (ankle bone) in place have slipped and are now UNDER the bone. Not doing their jobs. So, there is nothing keeping his ankle up, basically, for lack of a better explanation.
Oh, Rachel. :hug: I wish I knew what to say to help because I'm struggling too. Bob is in Japan and he's going to be there for another 9 days. It doesn't really get easier, but you learn to focus on the day at hand and not think about how many are left...
I'm glad you're getting out that place. You have enough to do and worry about. And you don't have to thank us. We love you.
:hug: Rach.
I can't even imagine. You're such a strong woman.
And I agree. I come here for comfort...sometimes before I go anywhere else.
My sis does this. She does the same job that Rachel does. She works two doubles (which are 7 am to 7pm) and they count it as a 40 hr week!
***************
Bob's doing well. He ate some pickled veggies and got sick. Well, duh! :confused3 He's going to be going to some island today and then back to Tokyo.
The grandmas are hanging in there! No one has gotten hurt yet! LOL.
Today I am going grocery shopping with my mom. MIL will stay home with the boys. Then we're baking this afternoon.
HOpe you guys are having a good day.
MEL:banana:
Jen I'm so sorry about Jon, hope it all goes well :hug:
Rachel good for you giving in your notice, you deserve some time off before your next one starts :hug:
Janet, whoops about the crock pot but at least you'll find a new one for a bargain price!
Dawn lovely photos :)
Been so busy with Brownies, and getting our stuff together for our road trip to San Fran/Sacremento next week! :faint: Oh yeah, and Thanksgiving, too!:lmao:
So, I just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! .
I think they came out really nicely. :lovestruc
They all came out great!:thumbsup2
i'm going to email you slate. i'm going to do the card exchange. i wasn't going to with everything going on , but it will be fun. but, the funny thing is, i'll only be sending christmas cards to my focker friends this year. i just don't have time to do the entire family. is that twisted or what??? :lmao: :lmao:
Who you calling twisted:rolleyes:
Dr. Seigle said that the pressure was indeed UP. It was 26, so he says, "The stitch is coming out." I'm like, "uh, no wait, hold on.." And before I could spit out "WHAT NOW?" he whipped it right out of my eye!!! I was shocked beyond belief! My MIL was there, so that was good.
:hug: :hug:
Good Morning. This should be a quick day. We are closing down at 3:00.
I had to share though, Jimmy came home from school all excited becasue he got pick something from the teachers "prize box". When I asked him why he told me it was becasue he got up infront of the class and told everyone about his science project. Because it was not mandatory, only Jimmy and one other kid in the class did one. (It isn't mandatory K-3, but once he its 4th grade it will be mandatory!). I was so happy:yay:
It's kind of weird, isn't it? A bunch of people who have come to one place out of devotion to a mouse have managed to become a really powerful support system for each other. Life is crazy, and super unpredictable, and I, for one, think it's fantastic that we can come here to share the good and the bad.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
So DH and I were sitting on the couch last night when I heard a strange noise in the kitchen. It was like a ticking noise. He dishwasher has been acting funky, so I got up to see what was going on. It was water dripping from the ceiling :scared1: Our bathroom is directly above the kitchen. Seems the shower has a cracked pipe...or something. :confused3 Looks like I'll be spending Thanksgiving tearing up my bathroom floor. :headache:
