Jo -
Thanksgiving Day is a joyous family festival celebrated with lot of enthusiasm in US, Canada and several other countries. Thanksgiving Day Festival commemorates the feast held by the Pilgrim colonists and members of the Wampanoag people at Plymouth in 1621. On this day people express gratitude to God for his blessings and give thanks to dear ones for their love & support. Feasting with family is an integral & most delightful part of Thanksgiving Day celebrations.

Everybody over here basically gets their family together and eat until they are sick. There's football and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

Mom made beans for dinner, you know I ate 'em all.
She said get your coat on, we're goin to the mall.
We're gonna visit Santa, and sit upon his knee,
But all I could think about was how not to cut the cheese.
:rolleyes: Holy Frijoles!

Morning Fockers! :wave:

So, it's cold down here. Which wouldn't be bad, except, catch this: the idiots in the FL legislature approved our electric company's request to increase rates 25%!!! :faint: My normal winter bill hovers around $300, so this is gonna be BAD. I explained to my mother, in light of this news, that we will not be setting the heat at her preferred temp of 71 this winter. She rebelled and said "just turn the hot water heater off during the day!" Oh yes, that'll be much more helpful than lowering the heat temp. :rolleyes: And oh so pleasant when I forget to turn it back on and have to give Leo a cold shower. The woman drives my nuts. I told her I'll buy her a sweater for Xmas. ;)

:scared1:

Hello all1 I'm back from NYC in one piece! Shrek was good, but I think I'd wait for the national tour to take kids, there was a lot of belching and farting, which you expect from Shrek. However, there was also an entire verse of a song using terms of blow (in the colloquial adjective context), but something I'd take into account if I were taking the boys (9 and 12).
:sad2:

Rachel - Hi!!!

Mr. Tigger - Are you gonna share some of those photos from the past?

Dawn - I would have told that guy that I didn't appreciate the comments. My aunt wanted to know why I didn't come to family gatherings at her house anymore. I told her that I had a lot of friends with various backgrounds and I did not appreciate their racial and homohobic comments. She was a bit upset at first but she got over it. I still don't go to her house on the holidays. It is not appropiate behavior anywhere.

Janet - I hope everthing goes OK with the auditors.:tiptoe:

Mel - I know what you're saying. There's not a lot more than corn in Indiana. Especially in the winter. Movies and eating.:upsidedow

Hedy - Yay, pictures!

Kat - Cool, I'll get over and read your TR in a few!

A former supervisor's mother passed away this week. I have to go to the viewing tomorrow, alone. I didn't know her. He was nice enough to come to my father's viewing earlier this year, so I feel obligated. :guilty:

I've got to be in town at 6 AM for a meeting at work on Thurs.
I have to get my grocery list figured out for this week. Doug usually does the shopping but I'm going to be in town anyway so I thought I would do it. I need to go ahead and get stuff for the Thanksgiving meal.

Then I'm having lunch with a friend I haven't seen for a while. Like all you moms, uh, and dads she is always busy, busy! She's a cancer survivor. We've talked on the phone but I just really wanted to see her.

I may not get back here for a couple of days. :hippie:

I apologize, I didn't go back to far to read todays happenings.

Mel- Take it easy. I hope you are feeling better now. Do you have any idea what triggered it? Stress of single parenting, while DH is gone? Holidays? :hug:

V- Bundle up! I can bring gramma a few warm sweaters down from MN. It was a balmy 14 this AM. FL here I come. What is going on with your rate increase? BTW- Do you have a water heater blanket? How about a programable thermostat?

Jen Jen- I know I've said it before... You are doing good with Jon! You go girl! Raising a fine, nice young man.

Dawn- Send the sand to grannies! :woohoo: BTW- The new manager needs to be FIRED! I don't know what F word you were referring to... but the N word is NOT to be tolerated! I feel bad for your DH. :mad:

Jo- I'm spending Thanksgiving in WDW!!!!!:banana: Animal Kingdom here I come!

Really hard day today. I'm not sure what happened to me but I had a really awful panic attack. Bad enough that I had to take one of SD's pills.

I wouldn't normally tell a bunch of people this. So, this is weird. But, I know some of you struggle with anxiety and so I figured it's a safe place. :hug:
Bob was comforting but he's leaving for Japan on Thurs. so he's completely freaked out about me not coping. I feel bad for giving him MORE to worry about.

My mom is coming from Tues-Fri. And, call me crazy but I just booked my MIL to come the for the week after. I just decided that I don't want to have to handle this alone. She's good in the respect that she does things the way I do them. (The FIL WON'T be here...) Well, anyway, that's my day in a nutshell.

Hope tomorrow is better! :love:

MEL

:hug: :hug: :hug: As you said to me, just pick up the phone ANYTIME! You know I can relate! SO now you have a little help for the time Bob's gone so that should help ease your anxiety a bit! :hug: :hug: :hug:

**************
It's 11 pm and I'm bored and KC is playing a new game. I may even clean out my closet, yep i'm that bored!

Goodnight all!

here's to a better tomorrow!

Hope tomorrow is better! :love:

MEL

You have our prayers and hopes for a better day tomorrow! :hug:

Good Morning everybody!

Went to see James Bond last night, it was a decent Bond film, I thought the bad guy was a bit lame though. Oh well, I still got to watch Daniel Craig for two hours, he has the most amazing blue eyes!

Today is my day off :woohoo: I plan on doing a lot of sleeping and a whole lot of nothing. :cutie:

It's never too early, my dear! I'm in full restraint mode...not allowed to put anything up until after Thanksgiving. So I cheat and listen to holiday music :banana:

I like the Ikea tree. B has that same stuff octopus, only bigger.

Dang...you were cute Mr. T! :teeth: Pinch yo' cheecks cute!

Whatever happened to me in the intervening thirty+ years? :lmao:

MR T. Great pics thanks:goodvibes

Thanks! :yay:

Good Morning !! Ready for another work day ! Hopefully I am home early today!!
I hope you get your wish. :) I know I'm getting home early today, but I wish I weren't. :upsidedow The school bus gets here at around 11:30AM on an early release day. I'm hoping I can actually get some work done once I feed the kids lunch. With the sitter's car problem Monday, my usual meet the bus Tuesday, an early release day today, and Thanksgiving programs in the kids classes tomorrow and Friday, my coworkers may begin to wonder if I'm really working there. :rolleyes1

So stinkin' cute! :goodvibes
See comment to Goofyluver above! :rolleyes: I still can't believe those clunky, black plastic frames I had for the glasses. :blush: They were Coke bottle-size lenses even then.

Good mornings all around!

I'm drinking my second cup of coffee of the day :coffee: having survived the gym, with the assistance of a pair of ibuprofen, and contemplating the day ahead. I'll pop in later after I make my guest appearance for an hour or so at the office.:tiptoe:

:wave:

Just stopping in to say hello.

Mel - :hug:

Jen - Jon's a winner with his cooking and cleaning skills. I'm going to have to teach my dh. Also - before you buy DVC, they are raising the rates in January. Compare resale to the DVC incentives- unless you want to buy into BLT. There are some good resale deals out there. Also, watch your use year. When we bought, I thought our June use year didn't matter because we usually go in September, but now I don't want ds to miss school and I would prefer to go the last week in May. June use year makes me not want to book that last week in May, though.

Very pretty but I agree far too early!

Just stopping in to say hello.
:wave2:

Well my arms ache after shopping all morning, I've managed to get most of the girls stocking things but need to go online to do the rest, can't stand the shops again. I also couldn't find the shoes I wanted, I really wanted some brown/beige sneakers to wear to WDW as we've been told to wear comfy shoes but I wanted something a little smarter than white sneakers :confused3

Really hard day today.
I'm so sorry Mel. :hug: Hope things are much improved today.

It was a balmy 14 this AM. FL here I come. What is going on with your rate increase?
:faint: It's going to feel GREAT down here for you! Forecast says highs in the mid-70s next week! :thumbsup2
BTW- Do you have a water heater blanket?
Not yet - that's on the list of things to do/get this weekend. It's in a tiny little room with the furnace, so I'm not sure how much difference it'll make, but worth a shot.
Jo- I'm spending Thanksgiving in WDW!!!!!:banana: Animal Kingdom here I come!
Me too, me too!! :yay:

Love the old pics! :goodvibes

I also couldn't find the shoes I wanted, I really wanted some brown/beige sneakers to wear to WDW as we've been told to wear comfy shoes but I wanted something a little smarter than white sneakers :confused3
You and me both Jo. I have a closet full of shoes, but they all seem to fall into two categories: work and flip-flops. I like my Converse sneaks, but not for a lot of walking. And my fuzzy Crocs will be way too warm for temps in the 70s. I'm stumped, so let me know if you find anything good online!

Good morning
I am tired, very tired. P (my 3rd child:rotfl2: )played hockey last night and called at 1130 to say he was "stopping into the emergency room to get a few stiches". WHAT?!?!
He got a stick to the mouth and his lip is soo nasty. 6 or 8 stiches fixed that. He didnt get home till 315a and I just couldnt sleep.
No plastic surgeon at the hospital(im not sure why):mad:
Happy saw him the morning and said "you should have had your cage on dad" .
Funny how my 6 yr old knows this but not DH:confused3
Anyway. Not sure what today has in store, theres lots to do but I feel lazy.
Bashful has a recheck for his surgery. His bandage came off last week and it looks AMAZING:banana: :banana: YOu can harldy see the scar, its not red or raised.:worship: to the Dr.

later ladies

Good morning, everyone. :goodvibes

Mel- :hug: I e-mailed you.

Krystel- Have fun with your friend. :cutie:

JenJen- I'm glad you and Jon enjoyed your dinner.

David- Wow! Your cousin was sporting one tiny top! :lmao: Thanks for sharing the pics.

Ang- What pretty trees! I always decorate after Thanksgiving. So, next week! :yay:

Lessa- Have a nice day off! :flower3:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't wait for this week to be over! :rolleyes: Last night I was so glad we would all be home, and Kirt came home feeling bad. He was asleep on the chair at 6:30. He then drifted in and out of snoring too loud while my shows were on all night. :sad2:
Thanks for everyone helping me process that whole ugly work situation. I told Kirt when he got home that it had really upset me and he said it was already on his list to talk to his supervisor about when they meet this next week.
Alright, we're starting school. Have a good day everyone!
:hug: I'm glad you'll have people to be with you while Bob's gone.
Goodness, you'll be busy. :)
Just wanted a separate post to say THANK YOU for all the comments and suggestions about the Wii! I feel much more enlightened on the subject now.
I think I'll wait a bit on it, though it's still very much on the radar. Leo's not very good at video games and gets frustrated/gives up quickly. If I spend that much and he doesn't use it, I'll be annoyed. Think he needs to be a little older.
Plus, this riding things appears to be more than a passing fancy. For the cost of a Wii, I could pay for a year of lessons. I think he'd be a lot more excited about that, and it's something I'd like to do, too, so that may be a way for us to get active together.
Here he is on "Della" last week :goodvibes :
Well my arms ache after shopping all morning,
Well, that's a good reason to have arms ache.
Mr T - You are still stinkin' cute!;)
By the way - I think the HR committee should approve a WDW vacation for the entire office.:rotfl2:
