Morning Fockers! :wave:

So, it's cold down here. Which wouldn't be bad, except, catch this: the idiots in the FL legislature approved our electric company's request to increase rates 25%!!! :faint: My normal winter bill hovers around $300, so this is gonna be BAD. I explained to my mother, in light of this news, that we will not be setting the heat at her preferred temp of 71 this winter. She rebelled and said "just turn the hot water heater off during the day!" Oh yes, that'll be much more helpful than lowering the heat temp. :rolleyes: And oh so pleasant when I forget to turn it back on and have to give Leo a cold shower. The woman drives my nuts. I told her I'll buy her a sweater for Xmas. ;)
25% WOW :faint:

YIkes, 25% :faint: DO you turn the heat down during the day when no one is home. We started doing this and noticed a huge change in the bill. 71 degrees:eek: I'd be in shorts;)
Janet you would be in your swim suit at my house. Its 37 here in NJ today and my heat is on 72:rotfl2: NO KIDDING.It will get warmer as it gets colder out. On the downside my gas/electric in the winter is approx $1750-1900 per month:eek:

I'm giving somewhat serious consideration to buying a Wii. Anyone care to condone or condemn this idea?!

Here's my thought:

Thanks to allergies and asthma, there are big chunks of time when neither Leo nor I can exercise or play outdoors. I get on my treadmill inside, but only after Leo's in bed, so we don't do much together that's physical. I'm kind of seeing Wii as an opportunity to move around and have fun together. Am I on track with that idea?

Here's my fear:

Will the thing be obsolete in a year? Two years? 5 years?! Really, that's a lot of cheddar for me, so I'm worried. Also, we don't do traditional gaming, so it won't be used for regular video games, only educational/fitness type stuff. And maybe the occasional round of Dr. Mario if I can get it. :rolleyes1
1st off I dont th9nk it will bw obsolete but then again I basically KNOW NOTHING:rotfl2:
Heres my take. WE LOVE IT HERE. BOTH boys play it and P and I d too. Its alot of FAMILY FUN. It comes with Wii sports(golf/baseball/bowling/tennis/boxing.) There is a Disney Trivia game that is out(dont have it yet)But we have all the Mario ones and Happy likes them. He is def a video gamer kid.
If you get it let me know Ill ask Happy what his fav games are:thumbsup2
That sounds sooooo good Kat --thanks for the recipe.:goodvibes

I also had JO quoted not sure where that went...Oh well not even a pinched nerve will stop you from golfing....you have the itch bad:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Happy had 3 friends over after school. I was a bit nervous as we never had 3 just 1 or 2 but it went soo well. They are all good boys just ALOT OF ENERGY. I did get nervous once when they were jumping so hard upstairs that downstairs things were shaking:rotfl2: BUT everything is intact:rotfl2:
They played the wii most of the time(Mario Super Sluggers)
Off to make dinner. Hopefully I can check back later

OH and anyone thinging of buying that PIXOS carp for christmas.....DONT. It sucks(to put it mildly) and I have little balls all over my floor...its driving me CRAZY

::yes:: - I am definitely not doing one for this coming August trip, so I would never badger anyone else to do one;)
Okay. Agreed. No badgering each other. :goodvibes

Thanks for the warning. My MIL bought my kids that stupid moon sand that I hate.

Then she makes sure to ask about it and if they play it. I should send it to her house. :rotfl:

I didn't hear this! :headache:

You guys... I was so shocked today by something I heard. K went to the other office today to train some of the guys there. He met the new manager who engaged him in a discussion about politics. The guy freely used the "N" word when talking about Obama and the "F" word when talking about prop 8! :scared1: :faint: OMGosh! Obama wasn't who we voted for, but we're still supportive of our President elect and happy that we have seen history being made.

If this "man", and I use that word loosely, used that language after only working there a week, what will he say later? Despicable. :sad2:

Man, I just can't seem to get all my thoughts together in one post!
Did everyone get the e-mail about DVC and the free vacay if you purchase by January 15th? If anyone needs it, PM me and I'll forward it to you.
Jen- were you about to purchase? popcorn::

::yes::

;)

And as for the jerk in the office...I would absolutely speak up...whether it be to him or to his superior. If K is comfortable enough to breach the subject with him, then by all means, I think he should be told his behavior was inappropriate, unprofessional, and that it should not happen again. If not, then I would go above his head. I don't care who he was talking about...language and hate like that is not appropriate. You all know I'm a bleeding heart liberal. If ANYONE had come into my company speaking like that about another person, be it Barack Obama, John McCain, etc...they would have gotten an ear-full from me about how inappropriate their actions were. That would be grounds for termination in the school district.

Hate should not be tolerated. And how sad for a man to work for a Christian-run business and to spread hate and intolerance. Sad. :sad1:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:wave: Hey ya'll. Long day at work...no clients today at the other job though.
Jon is cooking dinner tonight. :scared:
If I survive, I'll be back later. ;) :lmao:
I agree with everything you said. I'm curious to see what K says he'll do.
Ah, the garage door just opened. Time to serve dinner...
I'll be back later tonight.
Good job Jen. What's he cooking? :confused3 I love that Mitch cooks on occasion. He'd probably cook more but I feel bad since he already does so much, and I like to cook. :thumbsup2
Jon made Maria's Tacos...
It's a recipe from Meeska...
It has veggies in with the meat (turkey)...and the veggies sort of melt into the taco meat. It was yummy.
He even chopped onions!
What a great kid. He'll make a great companion to some dear soul down the road.
He can clean a mean bathtub and make a mean taco.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Phew all caught up !! I am going to catch up on the updates shortly and then I have to pay bills that I have been putting off for a week!!
Well, no wine for me tonight, but I do have some hot apple cider with cinnamon. :surfweb: I've got DS6 in bed, and DD11 watching something on TV. DD9 is out with Mrs. T getting new sneakers.
We have one at the office. It was a mental health purchase. :rolleyes1
Mental health huh???? :rotfl2:
That's how I sold it to the HR committee. Since my two coworkers appointed me as the HR committee, it was not hard to sell. But, the conversation between me and the HR committee representative proved the need for more mental health expenditures. :rotfl:
Thanks. I appreciate your 'man perspective'. And, it wasn't the "f" word. It was a slur used about two people who are of the same gender who like each other. You get me now?
Okay, got it. Then, my comments on racial slurs apply to those statements as well.
Also, on a side note, I wasn't sure who was asking to be my friend on Facebook when you asked, so I ignored the request. I wasn't sure DH would like me having a man I wasn't sure about on my friend list! :lmao: Kat filled me in on who you were, though. :)
No problem. You can track me down on FB at some point. I posted a few of those 1976 WDW trip pictures I mentioned several posts... err... pages back. :rolleyes:
I think Mrs. T is back with DD9. I'll drop in again later.
Ditto here. I'll add you though...
Okay. Agreed. No badgering each other. :goodvibes
YES. Totally acceptable to send it to her....
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Yes. Bob cleans tubs. That's pretty much all I needed to hear for me to marry him. Tacos would be a huge bonus in my book.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Really hard day today. I'm not sure what happened to me but I had a really awful panic attack. Bad enough that I had to take one of SD's pills.
I wouldn't normally tell a bunch of people this. So, this is weird. But, I know some of you struggle with anxiety and so I figured it's a safe place. :hug:
Bob was comforting but he's leaving for Japan on Thurs. so he's completely freaked out about me not coping. I feel bad for giving him MORE to worry about.
My mom is coming from Tues-Fri. And, call me crazy but I just booked my MIL to come the for the week after. I just decided that I don't want to have to handle this alone. She's good in the respect that she does things the way I do them. (The FIL WON'T be here...) Well, anyway, that's my day in a nutshell.
Hope tomorrow is better! :love:
Many of us have been there babe...myself included.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
Do you need anything? :hug:
No. I don't know what tomorrow's going to be like. I am hoping it's ok.
Thanks for asking! :goodvibes
