So what if Red Lobster isn't real seafood to you? I liked it.
You guys probably think Taco Bell is Mexican food.
Dawn, I hope you didn't take offense at my comments. I haven't eaten at a Red Lobster but once, and it wasn't very good. I grew up literally steps from the ocean so I think I'm sort of a seafood snob.
Anyhow, I didn't mean anything offensive by it. I love food, period!

We went to M and S for dinner. The weather stayed pretty miserable the whole drive down there. I had a lovely glass of Reisling and Bob had a Merlot. We shared an appetizer of calamari which was fried (perfectly! in the lightest breading) and served with 3 dips. A citrus marmalade, a sherry/mayo type sauce and a cocktail sauce. That was really good.
Bob ordered the cashew crusted MahiMahi. It came with a pineapple/mango salsa on top (which he was mad about because it had onions which he hates) and rice and green beans. His beans looked SO good but he didn't eat them! Bad Bob!
I had the scallops. They were pan-seared with a spicy crab gratin on top (which was sort of fishy IMO) and sauteed onions, peppers and rice on the side.
This was our first trip to M and S. Here's my take. The service, atmosphere and quality of ingrediants was really good. The prices were a bit steep (my dinner and Bob's were each almost 30 bucks and they didn't come with a dinner salad or soup!) and it sort of bugged me that they only brought one tiny chunk of bread to the table with our appetizer. It was about the size of two packs of cards. To share??? I know that's sort of splitting hairs but it irked me. Also, she didn't bring water till we asked. And my real gripe is about the meal. WHY does a 30 dollar meal come with essentially a piece of fish and an ice cream scoops worth of rice??? A potato, a french fry, something.....if you aren't giving me a dinner salad than a little tiny piece of fish and a scoop of rice is NOT going to do it. Oh well....
Bob ordered a dessert trio which had a creme brule, a molten choc. cake and a mini banana cream pie. They were all delish.
The check was $115. I know that we had meals in Disney that were about that much, but it's ALOT to spend on just a Sat. date night. I didn't mind as it was my Bday dinner (Bob will be gone for my bday) but I don't think we'll be back unless it's a SPECIAL occasion.
Hope you guys had a great night!
