Thanks. :thumbsup2

My real name is ...... Brack

I've been married for 36 years. We have one son (35yo) who lives in Dallas with his wife

My DW and I both are ministers in The Salvation Army so we move around the south a bit. We love Disney and go as often as we can ... usually at least twice a year (4 times this year! :woohoo:)

I am the only DISer in the family though. I am always looking for a fun thread and this one fits that mold. :surfweb:

:yay: We just had neighbors move in and the Hubby is in the Salvation Army. and he too has moved some.. WHY do they seem to move you guys around ??

YOu have definately found a FUN THread... if you can catch a hold someplace and keep a hold.. then Come on !!!

I'm Kathy... but they call me Katt around here.. Married to my DH for 22 years next month.. stay at home Mom, 2 kids, Sarabeth 10 and Joshua 14 and he has Autism.

Our favorite is OKW and if we can ever save a little money to add on we will probably add on at OKW. VWL are also great.

That's where I am looking to rent points for in August.. But not too many OKW'ers have posted points for rent and it's too early for other resort owners to get me a ressie. Never stayed there before.. but it looks Incredible

Welcome aboard.. hope ya stick around

Back later gang!!!

putting course today so left before 7am which is why I'm up early. I'm playing the return match against Canterbury today and we MUST win to win our group. The weather is meant to get horrendous today though so I hope we don't get too wet!

Good luck today, Jo! We know you'll win! Keeping fingers crossed for good weather....though we don't have any here...

I'm going back to bed till Gus gets up at 730. Cya then!

Hi Angela! So is that a Disney cruise you and Mitch are going on?

No, Holland America. I'm not up to the excitement of a Disney Cruise. I need relaxation! ;)

I love anyone that can beat the Pats!

:cool1:
Angela, have I told you how much I like you lately???? :lovestruc :rotfl2:
I was telling Mitch you were a Colts fan too and he asked me where your tickets for the 500 were. :rotfl: I don't know how the two are related but :confused3

I DVR'd the race because we were at the movie/dinner. I came home and started it, skipping commercials. At 9:40 I was down to the last 25 laps. And ABC PRE-EMPTED the end for America's Funniest Videos and showed the END of the race on ESPN!!!! OMG. WTH don't they tell you that when you set up the DVR!!! So, I didn't get to see the end. I'd love to wait till Thurs. and catch the recast on Speed but I'm sure someone will tell me who won the dang race by then.

This is the problem with not watching sports live.:headache: But Funniest Videos? :confused3 You should complain.

HUGE sale and it's dangerous. My credit card is still smokin'! :lmao:

I think I'm headed there this morning. :thumbsup2

Alek and Erich were very well behaved though so sadly no funny stories or pictures to post. ;)

Well, what fun is that? :rolleyes1

David has gone on a putting course today so left before 7am which is why I'm up early. I'm playing the return match against Canterbury today and we MUST win to win our group. The weather is meant to get horrendous today though so I hope we don't get too wet!

Have fun! :goodvibes

They shut the course so we didn't play :yay: Trouble was we were unable to get hold of the opposition, they had their cells switched off :confused3 so they made the hours drive and had to go home again, whoops. But hey I'm pleased as it's still chucking it down and really windy!

Full disclosure: I only read the page on which I left last Friday and the very last 2 pages, so if anything's happened in between that I should know about, somebody please fill me in!

Is everyone booking a trip with the new deal?
We are going June 6-13 with DVC points, but I was thinking maybe we should do the new deal and pay cash instead. That way I could save my points for another trip later.

I also read her on the dis that the deal is about 40% off rack rates and that the annual passholder deals are usually that amount. So then I thought, we'll just use our points as planned and if we decide to take another trip later, we can go when they are offering AP rates.

V - weigh in on here. What would you do?
Here's exactly what I'm doing... nada. The "deal" is no good for me - I already have an AP, so no way am I buying a package with tickets included. As for AP discounts, they're no longer offering them most weekend nights. Which is when I stay. BUT, I'm getting way better rates than even AP through room-only offers on WDW's website, Expedia, Hotels.com, AAA and Travelocity. It takes some work and shopping, but I've been getting them. :thumbsup2

Sick child at my house...and he's been sick all weekend. :sick: But I've never met a boy who can go drama like #2. The silliness and fun drama are fine, but the woe-is-me-I-have-a-cold drama is making me crazy:headache:
Oh no! Hoep he feels better soon. :hug:

Welcome Brack! I'm V, mom to 6yo Leo and Florida resident. I can rationalize any Disney expenditure. :rotfl:

From the resorts I've seen, I'm an AKV girl at heart. ::yes::

So inspired that we are buying in! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Is it really happening Jen?! :banana:

Thanks for all the enabling guys - I'm SOOOOO glad I took a weekend at The World for myself! It was fabulous, really. I'll post some highlights on my TR in a bit and send a link here.

That's one of the beauties of teaching at home....he can lay in bed all day waiting for the earth to come crashing down around him, but he'll do his schoolwork while waiting. :thumbsup2

I did not realize. Hopefully he can get his work done before the end. ;)

I didn't know that you homeschool. I'm about 60% certain I will be taking this path soon.

Slate, let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Are you thinking about all of your kids or just your son?

I'm scoping out a few sports bars in the neighborhood where DS6 and I can escape...err have some good father-son bonding time. ;)

Smart man ::yes::

I know Janet, just ribbin' you!

:hug:

SD didn't end up going on his sleepover. His friend made "other" plans....which totally ticks me off, but SD not so much. He said he enjoyed having a quiet weekend. And he got to watch 20,000 Leagues with Gus.

As long as Sd had a good weekend that's all that matters:thumbsup2

I am back from a fun scrapbooking weekend. I do have a problem and need some advice.

Yesterday my feet started swelling, then ankles and lower legs. I had something similar happen when I had TINK via c-section. I think they called it edema ? They kept me an extra day to watch the swelling. Since then I have had minor ankle swelling here and there.

When I say that I'm swollen, I mean SWOLLEN!! They hurt, ach and pain ful to press on... they are FIRM!!

I am keeping my legs up and have been peeing a bit more than usual today. Any guesses what is causing this? Should I be worried?

Get to the Doctor. It could be nothing, but it could be somethings serious. CALL THE DOCTOR!

Thanks. :thumbsup2

Hi Brack. I'm Janet. I'm 41. My DH is Jim and my DS(5) is Jimmy. We live in Philly and head to the promised land at least once a year. My parents are both CM's.

Welcome to the madhouse:goodvibes

Went to see Spamalot in Ottawa today with the family. Overall it was a good day although we had terrible service at the restaurant we had lunch at. We waited over 20 minutes after being seated for our waiter to show up and take our drink order. I was very antsy about how slow the meal was as I was afraid we would be late getting to the show. :headache:

Alek and Erich were very well behaved though so sadly no funny stories or pictures to post. ;)

HOw could they behave themselves? DOn't they know that they are supposed to act up just for our entertainment purposes.:laughing:

A shopping trolley!!!!

Trolley, boy that must be tough to push around the store...:confused:

I can tell you are upset about missing golf:lmao:

We thought about it to, but for us it didn't make sense right now. Jim would be the one to homeschool (since he has the degree in teaching:teacher: ), but he also makes WAY more money than me at this point. Luckily for us the public school Jimmy is attending is fabulous and has really been working with us getting Jimmy's meds set!

This would be for DS9. His meds were working great, but within the last 2 months, he has seemed rather sad (more than his normal subdued mood). His teacher had the nurse observe and she talked with him for a few hours and he told her he doesn't like his meds because it makes him feel really sad. The ped said stop taking meds as it can make depression worse and that he needs to see a psych. We are trying to get an appt, but it takes time. In the meantime, his teacher wants an instant fix. :mad: She even called a social worker on us. :mad: :mad: :mad: The good thing is that they are tacked out at the moment and don't go back to school until Dec. 8.

I feel for you Slate. We went through all this with Jimmy. The Catholic School threw him out becasue the meds weren't working fast enough:mad: (We were still trying to get the levels set at that point).

We had a really hard time getting a psych appt too. Anyone covered by our insurance didn't have opeings until late November or early December (This was the end of September the beginning of Oct). We would up going out of pocket and were able to get an appointment almost immediately. I get reimbursed some of what we put out.

Good luck, and we are here to listen:hug:

Dude, I was all set to... and then realized I left my camera at home! No pics = no story. Tomorrow, though, for sure. :thumbsup2

Oh s'late, I'm so sorry. :hug: What is it with teachers/schools/society in general expecting immediate solutions to challenges students face? I had the distinct impression that Leo's teacher was looking for an immediate fix to his getting used to a new school environment, too. Whatever happened to a little trial and error and some time to adjust - to whatever the situation is? Urgh.

So Spill it V...

Who or Where is giving you the best room dealios ?? Or is it depending on the day ??

So Spill it V...

Who or Where is giving you the best room dealios ?? Or is it depending on the day ??

TOTALLY depends on the day... and the day/s being booked. This past weekend, I got the best rate through WDW's website: room-only Fall promo on the bottom. Thanksgiving, I found equal rates through a WDW room-only promo and Expedia. Some other day I was looking up for LL in Nov. I found the best through Hotels.com.

Here's what I remember from the last recession: AP rates weren't as good as what I found through other outlets - AAA, Expedia, etc. WDW offering general public room-only rates is new this time around and pretty darned good if you need weekend nights. Weekdays are still better through an AP or FL resident discount.

The new 4/3 deal isn't bad - just useless for AP holders.

I saw that. ;)

I knew you would!

:hug: Hope the kiddo feels better.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jon is still a sickie. He's home with his grandpa. I'm trying to get him in with the ped...but they're giving me fits so I e-mailed the doc so she'll get him in.
:hug: to those that need them.
Welcome back V.
:hug: S'late.
And may everyone else have a wonderful day.
