Hey Kat!
I loved the Twilight movie. We just got back. It was very passionate without going overboard. You really identified with the struggle of Edward and the family. Remember I haven't read the books so I went in with no preconceptions. There were a lot of under 20's there. Made me feel old. I bet it rakes in the dough! I haven't seen crowds like that since we left WDW. Doug went with me. He liked it too. He said he would get me the books for Christmas.:woohoo:
I'm glad you thought it was good! Let's hope the rest of the movies live up to the writer's talent.

YAY!!!! I'm so glad you liked it! It really made me wanna read the books again!

Ok, I'm here. I wasn't waiting for Jo to go to bed, but I'll bet she has!

I am still feeling blue, but not as sick to my stomach. All in all I'd say that I'm a bit better. It probably didn't hurt that Bob called!!! :worship: My mother used to tell me when we started dating (20+ years ago) that someday I'd be glad to see him go away for a bit! Hasn't happened yet. I don't mind the occasional trip for 3 days or so, but LONG trips to FAR away locations are NO GOOD.

MIL is crocheting me a scarf. I knew there was a reason I invited her! We went out and did some errands today. Then she treated me to a cup of soup and 1/2 sandwich at the little diner. I couldn't finish my 1/2 sandwich but that is ok. I LOVED the soup.

So, dinner is in the oven baking. Kids are both sick with bad colds. That's fine with me since I really am not up to doing to much.

SO, where IS everyone?

OH, and thank you thank you thank you for all the :hug:s. I need them!

:hug: :hug: :hug:

We saw Twilight again last night. We ended up walking to the theater (not exactly close by) but it was a nice walk, albeit cold out. We found a bottle of the wine we loved so much in the Italy pavilion on the way at a random liquor store! We had dinner at a diner and then saw the 11:10pm show. KC loved it! I jumped up and down with happiness because he really enjoyed it so much! He said he might even read the books!

Today he worked so nothing excited there. Tonight Pants is coming over for some video gaming (Silent Hill) so I may get some more DIS time if I stay awake that long. It's been a long weekend already and I am beat!

Hi Peeps! :cool2:

Been hanging out with the kids most of the day in the backyard. The weather was beeeeutiful today! Got my laundry done and put away, so I'm just chillaxin' here whilst the kids watch SpongeBob (Blech!). I loath that cartoon. :sad2:

Andy called me today to tell me he met up with his brother and had an interesting conversation. Without getting into too much detail, Andy hasn't seen/spoken to his father since Evan was about 7 months old & Maddie was 3 yrs old. Well, now apparently he wants to see our kids. Mind you, our kids have no idea they have a grandfather on that side. Personally, I don't want to open that can of worms, KWIM? And this might sound really beyotchy, but my kids don't need him and I know that this will end badly and Andy and I will be left to pick up the piece and do damage control for our kids. He never keeps his word and will duck out of the picture when he feels like it.

Grrrr.... I just don't know what to do. :confused: I hate to be the mean person here, and I think Andy's on the same page as me, but he's hard to read when it comes to his family. :confused3 I could careless if he wants to see/talk to his dad, but I'm a protective Mama Bear and I worry about what could happen. Am I being paranoid?? :guilty:

On a happier note, we went to see Twilight and OMG! I loved it! Andy thought it was pretty good and would watch it again. Waldo was so bummed he missed it. I told him I'd go see it with him, if he wanted. ;)
We also saw BOLT! - it was cute, and funny. I found myself laughing out loud, although, not as loud and Miss Maddie! :lmao: And now, they want a dog. :eek: :faint:

T-protect your kids. They are the first priority. Whatever you need to do to protect them...that's what you need to do.

JMO.

:hug:

So few here today! That's different!

Angie - Glad you had a good time at WDW.

Mel - :hug:

Jodi - Thanks! ;) I can't imagine how it is is Indy on Black Friday!

Dawn - Good for C!

T - You're being a good momma. I haven't seen my mother in a very long time. If I had had kids I would not have wanted her involved with them. Big trust issues arise when a parent pulls a disappearing act. How does Andy feel about it?
____________________________________________________________

Nothing much going on here. Back to work until Tuesday.
I did notice that lots of people are losing their jobs due to the auto makers crisis. 1 big Chrysler plant here in Indiana is closing just before Christmas. It is just sad. I am sending out some prayers.
My bother and Doug's job involves gear manufacturing for large vehicles like locamotives and diesel trucks. I hope that we don't see a delcine in work there too soon.
:sad2:

Fly by!

I'm doing really really good! I feel so much better tonight as opposed to this morning! Your hugs work! :goodvibes

T: I know what you mean! My step-father is an alcoholic and he's been sober for about 8 years. We have NO relationship at all, but my mom comes to see the boys about 4 times a year. Two years ago we rented a house in MA for a week at the beach. My mom and SF came up and saw the kids one day. That was a HUGE step for me, since i don't trust him at all! I caved to the pressure and let my boys see him, they called him a couple times on the phone after and he sent them bows for target shooting last Xmas. Now he's drinking again. So, there goes that. How do you explain to kids that he's here one second and gone the next??? And my kids are 11 and 16! Younger kids would have an even harder time understanding.

So, like G-luv, it's just MHO but I think you do what your gut tells you!

V: Feel better honey! :hug: (hey, they worked on me...)

Kristel: Bob works in the auto industry here in MI and I can tell you that it's SCARY. I hope that you and Doug are immune. Times are going to get pretty tough for alot of folks. My heart breaks for them!

Rosie: Don't Get Sick! :scared1:

Jodi: Glad the girls are better! I hope you get your stuff done for Turkey Day.

Kat: Hi honey!

((((((((((((())))))))))))))))
Sorry, know I missed people but I'm still sorta sick, so you have to forgive me! I had chicken, couscous and carrots for dinner. I feel so HUMAN eating food again! I am not sure what changed, if I just feel better or if the panic going away helped me be able to eat....:confused3 Either way, I am SO glad to feel a bit better.
I hope it lasts.
Tomorrow SD has a guitar lesson if he's healthy enough. Poor little Gus is next to me right now and he's sooooo snotty. He's feeling pretty poorly. I am going to tuck him in soon.
We are planning to go see Bolt with BOTH Grammas on Tuesday when my mom gets here. It looks so cute!
Twilight has to wait till Bob comes home from Japan. I don't think the MIL or MOM will like it and I don't want to go alone. On a good note, Bob called me and he was so excited that he found AMERICAN food! He had eggs and hashbrowns for bfast (it was 7 am Japan time when he called me) and he said even if he doesn't find anything else all week he's sure he can live on that every morning!

Wow, I guess I had alot saved up to say! Sorry to the peeps I missed! LY all! Hope that you are all well. NO ONE ELSE get sick!!!

MEL:banana:

Looks like things have been pretty quiet around here, only a few pages since I popped in yesterday. I hope everyone who's been ill is feeling better! :hug:

:rotfl2: Hope you enjoyed DD's thingy and hope you got in
Went fine! DD11 was right; they did not have anything special planned. I was not, however, the only parent, so I went right in. They were in science. They were looking a cells under microscopes and drawing what they saw. :cool2: I don't remember 5th grade science being that interesting when I went through it. Of course, I wasn't the one doing the assignment this time around. :rolleyes:

I just had a call my golf partner has been taken into hospital with a chest/lung infection, they've done x-rays but don't know what it is yet, we were meant to be playing against Canterbury on Monday so I've cancelled that and told her DH not to worry. Hope it isn't anything too serious!
Hope she's okay.

Happy Birthday DD! :cheer2:
Thanks! She and her friends are down in the family room watching the Kit American Girl movie along with DD11 and her friend that is staying over. :goodvibes Mrs. T is keeping an eye on things. :magnify:

Mr. Tig - Thanks for those pics. I love those glasses - they make you look so smart. Does your cousin know you posted those pics of her?
:rolleyes1

On black Friday I plan on staying in bed and pulling the sheets over my head! :scared1: No way am I brave enough to face those demons, excluding Focker's of course.
Last year I participated in the madness. If I avoid the ads, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy; don't know if I will be able to resist. I have a hard time passing up free-after-rebate electronics, computer components and/or software. One of my hobbies is building computers from spare and scrounged parts, so I pick up parts whenever I see a really good deal, particularly for FREE. Now, I'm not only an attorney, but a geek as well... :scared1:

Gotta go watch 'Sanctuary'. I love that corny stuff!
That was part of our Friday night too. We're still not sure we're into it yet.

So Mitch loved MVMCP! :cool1: My DH has Disney in him somewhere. He only went for me, but after we road BTMRR twice in a row and then 2 more times, he was laughing! He even went on Splash with me and he was really impressed with the parade and fireworks. Hopefully it was just what he needed to releave some stress of work. :thumbsup2 My camera battery died, so I have pictures of the parade but not the fireworks. If they are any good, I'll post some.
Great! I'm glad you guys had a good time. :thumbsup2 I agree on the work stress relief. Also, for me, the Disney environment helps me to remember how to play like I did when I was child and to take pleasure in the simple you of it.

I hope you guys are all doing better than i am. I hope that I start feeling better soon. I'm starting to get concerned....
MEL
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. :hug: I hope things have improved over the course of the day.
PS Just saw your later post, glad you're feeling a little better.

I don't know how people fly all night. I can't sleep anywhere but in a bed.
Ditto. It made those red-eyes when I was traveling for business that much worse.

It's like a ghost town around here :confused: Are you just waiting till I go to bed? :rotfl:
I know... I've checked in a few times today, but everyone must be busy. :confused3 Now we're about to head over to C's show. So, I'll be gone. Now they'll talk, Jo. ;)

It seems a bit quiet. It's been a busy day on our end, and this is pretty much the first time I've had to sit down and catch-up.

I could careless if he wants to see/talk to his dad, but I'm a protective Mama Bear and I worry about what could happen. Am I being paranoid?? :guilty:
T-protect your kids. They are the first priority. Whatever you need to do to protect them...that's what you need to do.
JMO.
JMO, too.

We'll probably have to wait on Twilight until it hits DVD or on-demand. I did take DS6 to see Madagascar 2 tonight. It was a good father-son outing and also kept both of us out of the way of the sleep over activities for DD8's birthday party. We definitely enjoyed it. I gave him the choice between BOLT! and Madagascar 2, and he chose the latter. I'm sure we'll end up seeing the other one at some point.
===================================
It's been a pretty hectic day overall.

I was out of the house by 9AM to usher at services, while Jenny continued getting the house in order for the party. I got home just after noon and helped straightening and cleaning. I made the last-minute-supply run to the store - I had to pick up the HSM3 goody bags along with assorted food/sundry items. Got home for more cleaning. For various reasons, two of the kids came early and saw the tail end of the cleaning whirlwind.

I ran out again to pick up the platter of nuggets that were the main course for kid's dinner, dropped that at home and picked up DS6. We saw our movie and went out to dinner. We got home by around 8 or so, and I just finished getting him to bed at around 9. He's sleeping peacefully at the moment. :cloud9: I'm always amazed at the amount of noise he can sleep through.

The sleep-over party is in full swing. I managed to snap a few pictures, since Mrs. T has had her hand full. I was firmly instructed no videos and that I was not to listen to the truth or dare game in progress. At this point, the girls are all down in the family room, Mrs. T included, watching the Kit American Girl movie.

I'm pretty tired, so I think I'll be turning in at this point. TTFN! :wave:

Mama knows best- go with your gut!

I am so glad to hear positive things about Twilight! I swear I wanna see it again! I really loved it. I had a very heated "debate" with Pants today about how he didn't like it. Urgh. LOL.

Joining the Sick Club! :sick: My DH and DD both are sick, sick and we leave in just 4 more sleeps! My kids never get sick, why now?

Cinderella came yesterday to Tinks party. Although she wasn't near as good as the real deal, the kids still had fun. We now have just about every Princess toy ever licensed by Disney. :confused:

I'm sorry I didn't look too far back, but did read that:

Mel is feeling better and is getting a new scarf! :banana:

V- Needs to rest!! You are heading to WDW young lady... there is no time to be ill!

T- You protect those kids! That is the same advice everyone here gave me when my icky sister inlaw started demanding visitation rights of our children. YUCK!

Jodi- I LOVE THOSE PUMPKIN BLIZZARDS! Yummmmmmmm!

I have got to see and READ Twilight. Must keep up with you Fockers! But first, I am off to finish decorating for Christmas and making my Turkey dinner for tomorrow. We are celebrating Thanksgiving and Tinks b-day tomorrow with family, since we will be in WDW for the real deal. :woohoo:

So, everyone is sick. Here, too.
Took DS to the doctor Thursday and he has strep throat. No symptoms at all. I checked him out of school at lunch for his dr appt b/c I wanted to get him a flu shot and have them look at his throat because his breath was smelling really foul. They took a strep test and it was positive. This same thing happened 2 years ago, only I got strep 3 times before the doctors and I realized the issue was strep.
Then, Friday morning ds cut his finger with the scissors. He is the kid I can trust to leave stuff like that alone, so I was surprised. I should have taken him to get stitches, but I didn't. I called the pediatrician who told me she doesn't do stitches, but would look at it and see if she thought I should take him for stitches. Well, this happened at 6:30am and the immediate care centers around here don't open until 8am. I didn't want to take him to the ER for a cut on the finger. I couldn't tell how deep it was and we got the bleeding to stop, but I see today that it is pretty deep. He says he learned his lesson and will never touch the scissors again.

Mr Diz is all stressed out at work. I asked him if he wanted to go to SC on Wednesday, instead of Friday and leave the kids with my family and the two of us go to the beach for Wed and Thursday night. Then my sister called and I mentioned it to her. She said we can use her condo. I didn't even think about asking her to stay there. Anyway, I think we are going to do it. She does not have an ocean view, but it's free!

Happy Birthday Tink

Ok, I'm here. I wasn't waiting for Jo to go to bed, but I'll bet she has!
Yep :rotfl2: Glad you're starting to feel better and that Bob phoned :goodvibes

I wasn't waiting for Jo to go to bed either. I just didn't have anything to write about all day. It's been a boring day here.
It was here too especially as no-one was here to talk too :rotfl2:

Hi guys - just checking in real quick before retreating to the couch. I'm still sick; it progressed from head to chest and I'm coughing up a lung, so I can't move around much. Bleehh.
Oh no :hug:

We saw Twilight again last night. We ended up walking to the theater (not exactly close by) but it was a nice walk, albeit cold out.
Sounds nice Kat!

Been hanging out with the kids most of the day in the backyard. The weather was beeeeutiful today!

You've got to do what you and Andy want regardless of what FIL wants :hug:

My bother and Doug's job involves gear manufacturing for large vehicles like locamotives and diesel trucks. I hope that we don't see a delcine in work there too soon.
I hope so too :hug:

Joining the Sick Club! :sick: My DH and DD both are sick, sick and we leave in just 4 more sleeps! My kids never get sick, why now?
Oh no, hope they get well quick and you and Tink don't get it :hug:

So, everyone is sick. Here, too.
Not more :faint: Hope you all get well :hug:

Well we woke to snow :yay: But now it's chucking it down and all gone :headache: Ellie has gone to a party, she's only watching as they're swinging through trees etc and she's too wimpy but it's freezing and raining so that'll be fun :sad2:

David has just started the fire and we're not going anywhere today due to the weather!

:hug: to everyone who's not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. It's no fun to be sick for the holiday. :)

Yesterday was an awesome football day! Ole Miss won and somehow Tennessee did too. :cool1: Oklahoma killed Texas Tech so who knows what the BCS will do. Let's hope today is as good. Go jets, Giants and Colts!

Have a good day! :goodvibes

T, you need a dog! ;)

Did you see the Big Ten scores?? There were some major blow-outs! It was crazy. I turned off the Indiana-Purdue game at halftime because the score was something like 45-3. It ended up 55-10. :sad2:

I'm going to be rooting alongside you for the Jets and Colts! :cheer2: :cheer2: San Diego always seems to have our number though, so I'm a bit worried about that one. If the Jets and Titans were playing in NYC, I would be more confident of the Jets ability to win that one. But, you never know.... it could happen!:rolleyes1

Have a happy Sunday everyone!

Morning Girls (and Mr. T and Brack....uh where is Brack?)

This is your daily "crazy mel" update. I was feeling GREAT all evening. Watched my taped Lipstick Jungle in bed and then snuggled down for a sleep. This was all good. Till about 5 am when I woke up and the dang panic was back. :confused3 I took 1/2 a pill and went back to sleep till 8. I'm up now and I feel a bit wobbly but ok. I am still hoping for today to be a good day. I never realized that anxiety could be like this. Makes me feel that much worse for SD's trials this summer.

Bob wrote and said that today (well, it was nighttime when he sent it from Japan) he went to a bunch of Temples, saw the biggest Budha in Japan, went to an island in the Pacific, climbed a 2000ft mountain and walked through a jungle pass, rode at least 7 trains and on one was so crammed in he couldn't raise his arms! He had a great day!!! He starts work in the morning, which is in about 8 hrs for him. He said he met some Thai people that wanted to know if he liked Obama or McCain.... So, all in all, Bob is surviving! Good since he really didn't want to go on this trip!

Saw that Mr. T's sleepover went well, Jodi and Angela watched football and that it snowed at Jo's house!!! I am taking SD to guitar later today. That's all that is on my plate. I am going to do some laundry too. Nascar is done for a while so that's out. No wonder I'm anxious! ;)

Hope you guys have a great day!
MEL

Morning all... :goodvibes
It's another busy day in our house. We have curch, then A's Bday party, and Bday dinner at Texas Roadhouse with the ILs. It's really not going to be so bad since the party is at the theater. It should be fun! :yay:

C's show went really well. We gave her a rose and took her to dinner. :cutie:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone get well! :sick:
princess: Happy Birthday Tink and David's daughter! princess:
When are their actual bdays? Aiden's is on Thanksgiving this year. He doesn't seem to notice. We're celebrating the day before here at home. I always do a big dinner of the birthday child's choice, then we do gifts and dessert. :cloud9: It's nice to make a big deal out of it.
We are having Thanksgiving today with my brother.
Morning all. Wish I could say I'm feeling better.... but I'm not. :sad2: Now I'm running a fever. I'm doing the unthinkable: making detailed touring plans for my mother in case SHE has to take Leo to the parks while I rest in the hotel! :scared:
Grrrr.... I just don't know what to do. :confused: I hate to be the mean person here, and I think Andy's on the same page as me, but he's hard to read when it comes to his family. :confused3 I could careless if he wants to see/talk to his dad, but I'm a protective Mama Bear and I worry about what could happen. T hunny - I don't know all the details, but be careful with this one. It's a tightrope of sorts, between not creating a riff with your spouse and doing what you think is best for the kids. Been down that road. Fortunately, you've got a terrific husband who'll actually listen to your concerns and take them into appropriate consideration. You guys will figure out the right things to do, I know it. :hug: :hug:
Joining the Sick Club! :sick: My DH and DD both are sick, sick and we leave in just 4 more sleeps! My kids never get sick, why now?
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! :hug: :hug: Hot lemon water, vitamin C and REST Jen. Hang in there!
Cinderella came yesterday to Tinks party. Although she wasn't near as good as the real deal, the kids still had fun.
Yay! Happy Bday Tink!
So, everyone is sick. Here, too.
OMG, we're dropping like flies around here! :hug:
Oklahoma killed Texas Tech so who knows what the BCS will do.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
It still didn't get FL to where they should be - #1 of course ;) - but it's a step in the right direction, lol!
Hope you guys have a great day!
MEL
You too Mel - feel better hun! :hug:
Whoa, the sickness is sweeping the nation!
I hope everyone feels better soon.
Poor V and JenV! WDW while sick-No fun!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed up here. Hope it helps! :thumbsup2
MEL
:wave: Morning Fockers.
:hug: to all you sickies. I'm very sorry. I hope everyone gets to feeling better quickly.
I went and saw Twilight with Meeska last night and really enjoyed it.
Cleaning today!
See you lovely peeps later!
