Hey all. Nothing much here-going out to dinner for my DSIL's birthday. Six months till WDW-I was all excited-the dentist wanted to book a 6 month last day, and I was all "I'll be away!"

:yay:

I KWYM. Our Tball coach just told us that he is missing two games this weekend. His wife is the assistant coach.

:headache:

My mother did that to my house one night and actually went into their basement before she realized she was in the wrong house!

This is why I wait outside and wave my mother down when I know she is driiving home:rotfl2:

Have fun in Hershey. I want to take my kids there when they get tired of Disney. Thinking of doing Hershey and Niagra Falls, NYC trip maybe in 2010?

::yes:: If you do we will have to plan a meet wither at Hershey or in NYC:thumbsup2

DH talks to his boss today about taking off for Disney. I called my friend who is going in June-she had made several ADRs for all of us and luckily she hadn't cancelled any. Then I called my friend who lives in St. Pete and she said she could come over for the weekend to help me so I wouldn't be alone with the kids. So I have a tentative plan just in case we do go in June instead of October. My husband loves me so much he is letting me plan two vacations

:cool1:

So, in my reflection time yesterday I also decided that it's time for B to go to public school in the fall. I'm really excited and I think Baylie is too. It's the right time. This decision is why my friend was rude. She just went off on public schools and the dance team B would be on. We worked out and she (sorta) apologized. It's fine. I think I made myself clear that I wasn't going to listen to comments all year about my choices. :thumbsup2

I've come to the conclusion that you can't make everyone happy so just make yourself and your family happy. I'm sure people made their opinions known about your homeschooling and you are going to have people make comments about public school. You have to do whats best for Baylie! Please, I got the comments from my MIL about putting Jimmy in daycare when I went back to work after maternity leave. Now I'm getting the comments from her about him NOT going to Catholic School. Ummm, excuse me THEY KICKED HIM OUT! Stay strong Dawn:hug:

That sounds fun!

It should be! We are going wtih my friend Denise, her DH and their 2 kids so I won't have to ride the rides with Jimmy:thumbsup2

We decided on the Tennessee trip. We have another Myrtle Beach trip scheduled at the end of July and I am thinking about renting my sister's condo for 2 weeks. So, Tn will be something different for us. Also, if you haven't heard, Myrtle Beach is up in flames or was.

That sounds like a great plan. Brushfires????

Are you doing Disney this year?

That's great, Janet!

Thanks T:goodvibes

Yes, except for the floor. Not sure if we'll have enough money for a new floor or if we'll just refurb our existing.

Ooh fun! All new stuff I love it:thumbsup2

I've found that when my kids were that age and taking lessons, they did better when they couldn't see me.

::yes:: Same with Jimmy!

Sounds like you have a great weekend planned, enjoy!

Should be fun!

Another sunny shorts wearing day here, it was golf again this time a match and I lost. My handicap is 11 and the lady I played is off 36 so I had to give her 25 shots. I played well but giving her that many shots was just silly, she played the best she's ever played too so she was very happy! I have a mixed match tomorrow, this is the one my partner and I won last year!!!

HAve fun and we should be able wear shorts starting tomorrow too:cool1:

:rotfl2:On a similar note, last winter we were having a playgroup dinner thing we do just with the parents, and the hostess had a new boyfriend none of us had met. I went to the right place, but one of my other friends went to the wrong condo. A guy answered, and she assumed it was the boyfriend, walked right past him (carrying food and wine and so forth) and just started chatting. It wasn't 'til this guy's teenage daughter came downstairs that she even considered that she was in the wrong place! :rotfl:He was saying he didn't know our friend, but she thought he was just giving her a hard time.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well at 3pm today we do the walk through and then it is ours. I cannot wait for the move to be done.

Good Luck!:thumbsup2

Jess is about to cook our tea, beef chow mein stir fry and then she wants to try and make Nigella Lawsons French Toast doughnuts for dessert!!!

OK, so you are moving in to do al my house repairs and remodeling. Jess can come with you to cook:thumbsup2

Sorry about your having to call the locksmith. I have done that three times now. Once with my DH when I was 15. That was our first fight. Once when I was 22 and on my first day at my new job. I cried on the phone to the locksmith and he hurried over still in his PJs and I still made it in time for work. The third time was in my new van~the baby locked the door when it was running, you couldn't do this to my old van and I just assumed that it wasn't locked. I had AAA but forgot to use them so I still had to pay for it.

GOod luck on the move!! :woohoo:

YUMMY!

Seriously, she can come stay with me anytime. Sounds delish! :goodvibes
I agree. We should work out a student exchange program. :lmao:

Wow you have been unlucky, hope it doesn't happen again!

You're on :rotfl2:

Wow the french toast doughnuts were delicious, it was a Nigella Lawson recipe and was so easy, here it is in case you want to do it and I've even done it in cups ;):rotfl2:

1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Yep that's it, just mix it together :rotfl2: Soak bread in it and fry in a little oil and butter. Then dredge in sugar and honestly they taste like doughnuts, she also suggests a strawberry sauce but we didn't bother! That only made enough for 2 large slices of bread so just double or triple the ingredients :thumbsup2

I swear I've barely had time to eat lately...

So: No quotes....

CE: Sorry about your morning. Done that before! D'oh! for the rest of your day!

Janet: Hi! Don't remember what else I was gonna say. Duh. :sad2:

Dawn: Love you! You know that whatever makes you happy, makes us happy. :lovestruc

V: Ouch. Sorry you hurt. Have a great time in Miami!!!!

Z: Still sick? for you too.

T: Hope Waldo's surgery goes smoothly. Oh, and don't worry about me. I'm fine. I just want them out so that I don't have to worry about them anymore! Ugh!

JO: Love your girls! Lucky lady! Oh, and have fun tomorrow at golf. :thumbsup2

Debra: Glad you could add a friend to help you in WDW. That will be nice.

Sam: Cute puppy and cute you. As the others said, when you get to our ripe, old ages you'll realize that it tends to go in waves with some people. They move in and out of your life, but they are always friends. :goodvibes

Kristel: Hey girl!!!

Kat: Glad KC's bday was good (Except the barf) and that you're doing well. Sorry to hear about your G.Aunt.
Whatcha cooking today??? :worship:

Jodi, Lori, Lessa, Rosie, Scott, etc: Hi there friends!!! :wave2:

Has anyone heard from TE or MO? I am hoping Mo's doing ok.....

****************
Ok, I overslept this morning. Till 10 am!!! Crazy! Bob and Gus have gone off to work (it's take your child to work day) and SD is at school. I made it to the gym. I biked 8.5 miles today! That's a total of 23.5 miles this week.
I am SO proud of myself.:banana::banana::banana:

I went to the meat mkt. (lol dawn) and then came home and did the dishes and picked up the house. Now I'm going to run to the bank for Bob and get SD from school.

I hope you are all having a GREAT Thursday!!!!

MEL:banana:

She is a good girl, she just told me she loves to cook so who am I to complain :rotfl2: Just been called up the table :wave2:

Yum! Have fun!

This is why I wait outside and wave my mother down when I know she is driiving home:rotfl2:

I might have done the same, if I'd been sure when she'd show up! :lmao:

OMG! Tell me that didn't happen :rotfl2:

Nope, it was pretty funny. She walked in, "Hi, you must be Rob..." sat the food down, starting asking where Tanya was... The guy's like, "Who?" and she said, "Oh, she said you were a jokester" or something like that.

Her DH and another friend were with her, but they hung back. :rotfl2:
Sorry about your having to call the locksmith. I have done that three times now.

I'd say that's about where I'm at, too. Last time, I had the spare keys at home, but D wasn't home, so... It's been a while, though.

I agree. We should work out a student exchange program. :lmao:

Ooh, there you go! Woody's very athletic - I'll send him over and I'll take Jess. ;) Ellie liked him well enough, so they'd get along. :rotfl:

By popular request. I bring you Sunny! Tah dah

Mini Rant:

In high school i was very close to 2 girls. CJ and Jen.

What a cutie pie doggie! Good luck keeping the roommates happy!

As far as the whole friends in the wedding thing... Don't let any of it ruin your friendship! I had a lot of drama in my wedding party. I originally asked my closest friend at the time (S) to be my MOH and she said yes but was so disinterested we ended up arguing and i asked her not to be in the wedding. Then another girl (A) who I asked turned me down. Honestly I remember it all but i tried not to let it effect our friendships after the fact. years later the A ended up getting married and I couldn't make it and she has hardly spoken to me since. Just try and not let it effect things.

Did open interviews at work yesterday :scared1: At least I could check the male /female box with confidence this time:lmao:

:lmao:

Morning, Fockers.
I was in a really bad mood yesterday. All this moving and stress has really been getting to me. :headache: I did some cleaning out of relationships and it felt good. One of my old friends was rude to me and I called her on it. The old Dawn would have just gotten upset and stewed. Not now. I'm not going to let people bully me- with their silence, with their words... Nope. My life is too busy and too great to waste time on people who aren't great friends.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

KAT has been picking up after KC. Any news on the disability??
I read about KC's birthday! You know you had fun when you spend the next day recovering! :lmao:

Hey Kat! Text me when you're on. I'll be in and out all day. I'll try to catch you on. So sorry to hear about your Great Aunt.

I'll def do that, if I ever get off FB today I';llg et on AC. LOL.

Jess is about to cook our tea, beef chow mein stir fry and then she wants to try and make Nigella Lawsons French Toast doughnuts for dessert!!!

MMMMMMMM sounds good! You can def come on over here any time for some cookin'!

Kat: Glad KC's bday was good (Except the barf) and that you're doing well. Sorry to hear about your G.Aunt.
Whatcha cooking today??? :worship:

Tonight is Ikea Meatball Stroganoff...sorta. I'm mixing Ikea Meatballs (still have half the bag in the freezer) with the sauce and some egg noodles.

#############################

I must stop playing on FB.....

I must stop playing on FB....

But I did find 2 old friend's I was excited to find! Let's see if they friend me. lol.

Lazy day. Lovin' it too. I was up early when KC left for his jury duty trial (HA HA) and read some (Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews, good stuff BTW) and went back to sleep for a while. Then I got up had some coffee and have been farting around on the computer for the last hour and a half.

I prob should shower at some point too, lol. And bake the bread I was going to make today. Maybe.

We are trying to budget and only grocery shop every 2 weeks (minus some produce stuff we buy from a place thats not the supermarket) and so far so good. it's hard planning meals 2 weeks in advance tho. We def saved $ last time tho by just buying stuff we needed for those meals. I need to finish the list tho, because tomorrow night we are going to the grocery store (it's pay day)- a wild friday night for The Garcia's! :lmao:

Debra, I've just read your October TR and it was great, it's been put in the completed section so I couldn't reply there. Great photo of you dancing in AK :rotfl2:

Wow you have been unlucky, hope it doesn't happen again!

Janet: Hi! Don't remember what else I was gonna say. Duh. :sad2:

Mo emailed me a few days ago from work. She's uber busy, but doing fine, I think. She didn't email me back. I'll see her in 3 weeks, though!

:lmao: Sounds like The California version of The Garcia's! We were supposed to go to F&W fest at DCA tomorrow, but looks like rain and you know how Californians are about the rain. :rolleyes1

Afraid you'll melt?? What the heck did you do during Faye:confused3

Now Fay was a different story all together. That was fine...it was warm and rainy... that NEVER happens here.

It's always cold and rainy... it's got to get at least 68 for us to get rain. And 68 is practically frigid. ;):lmao:

Woohoo! I am so bad at that kind of thing - I can't keep my grocery shopping to even once a week. Good for you!

Sure!

Yeah... :rotfl2:

Just as I was getting in the van to take my neighbor to pick up her car, my mom called. They are admitting my dad to the hospital. :sad2:

He had a kidney infection last week, but was responding to the antibiotics. He was feeling better at the beginning of this week, but some of the blood work came back. His potassium was really high, so they had him in today for more blood work, and his liver levels are also high, so they are admitting him. He's frustrated because he doesn't feel bad, and also because it's finally starting to get nice and he's hoping to start planting on Saturday - harder if he's in the hospital. :guilty:

Gah.

I'm not too worried since he doesn't feel bad, on the one hand, but still...

Good thoughts and pixie dust towards Illinois, please. :grouphug:

That sounds like a great plan. Brushfires????

Are you doing Disney this year?
I don't know the details. My mom called me this morning crying about it. That is where she and my dad are from and we have family there. She said that a house in Conway caught on fire - doesn't know if they were burning something in their yard or how the fire started, but the winds were so bad, it spread it. At least that is her version. I'll have to read about it or watch the news.

Yes - we are going to Disney June 7 for a week.

Sounds easy! I'll have to have Mr Diz make it. I can't seem to ever make breakfast taste good. :confused3

I've been trying this, too, but not working out that well for me. I went in the grocery store yesterday and lettuce and cheese ended up costing me $25.

A friend just started working for Intercontinental Hotels and sent us a friends and family rate link (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaze, etc). It says we can forward to additional people.

If anyone wants it, let me know and I will forward the email. The hotel has to be booked by the end of May, but can be used anytime.
 Me!!! I am already booked at one of their hotels for beach trip this summer. I'll cancel and rebook with the discount.

CE- hugs for your dad and family.

Mel- You said Meat Market! *giggle* ;)

Jo- I'm glad to know Baylie's not the only one who likes to do the cooking.

Thanks to my Fockers for the support with school and friends. :grouphug: I feel good about the decision. I'm excited and so is Baylie. I can't believe she'll be in 7th grade this fall! :guilty:
