MEL is getting her wisdom removed on May 1st. We all know how wise she is, it will probably take all day! SD is doing super in school and got a break today. He helped mom with the laundry. Gus will be going with Bob to work on Thursday. She has to cancel on the girls’ weekend. Bob should be home tonight.

My brother's birthday is tomorrow. I sent him a card with some scratch-off lottery tickets in it. He invited us to join him and his friends on Sat for bar hopping. He is not starting until 8 PM. We might skip it. Just too late to get started and Doug is taking his Chemo starting tonight. He can't eat or drink anything 2 hours before he takes it. I hope my bro doesn't take it the wrong way. I may see if he is going out to eat before that. I'd rather do that with him and his girlfriend.

Yes, this counts as being busy.

DD needs speech therapy. The school system will provide it, even if your child is not in school yet. I have to get all the required forms and make an appt with the school. I wish I had her evaluated before all this. The dr thinks her speech is bad due to her tonsils being so large for so long.

That's great that they will start it even before she is in school!

DH was given an extra 4 days off for being on this project that just ended, but he has to use them before June 1. He is taking it the week of Memorial day. I booked us a trip to Wilderness in Tenn. It is like Great Wolf Lodge, but it has an outdoor and indoor waterpark. I only booked 2 nights, but now my sister is asking us to go to Myrtle Beach and stay with them. Staying with her is free and we would stay more than 2 nights. The room at Wilderness is $100 off the regular room rate and I told dh we would probably not go again unless we got a great offer like that. We can't decide.

Tough decision.

The water main in front of our house broke Saturday morning and when Mitch called the water company, they told him they would be out Monday. He did mention the water conservation issue but I guess the girl on the phone only answers the phone and can't control when they actually come out.

But they will be the first one's raising the bill when there is a water shortage

I am rockin' and rollin' today! I have put away the winter clothes, cleaned out all our desk stuff, fixed up my bookshelves, organized the junk drawers, cleaned the bathroom, dusted, and swept! I just need to clean the mirrors and make some pea soup for dinner tonight. I'm making it because I can throw it in the pot and forget it for 2 hours.

Well I am about to relax in my clean and now air conditioned house and eat some lunch and then play some animal crossing! [/COLOR]

Spoke to my grandma today, apparently my great aunt (her sis) isn't doing very well. She is blind due to diabetes and has a bad infection now. My grandparents are coming up here next week to see her. I am hoping to visit with them a little when they are here, I haven't seen them since last summer.
I might be able to sneak a visit to an old high school friend who is pregnant again too, that would be great. it costs so darn much to get there I'd like to make the trip worth it.

Anyways just waiting on KC to get home and finish doing his carp with the computer (copying all our movies and tv shows to a certain drive for a new devise he bought) so I can play me some silly games on the pc.

I hear you - I just now realized that with two birthday parties on Saturday, there's no way we're making baseball practice. I don't know why I didn't think of that, and it's the second-to-last practice before games start. But then, I don't think I'd make them skip parties for baseball, anyway, so...

The younger daughter of our friends Deb & John, whom I talk about all the time, is having her birthday party Saturday at a movie theatre to see "Monsters vs. Aliens" at 11:00 (she actually shares a birthday with my boys - she was born on their second birthday. ) Of course, we were going... Then Buzz got an invite from a classmate - "Monsters vs. Aliens" same day, next show - 2:15. He wasn't sure, but I asked if he'd want to go to the classmate's party if there weren't two the same day, and he said yes, so I said he might as well. The only bad thing is that it's going to be super nice and he'll be in a theatre all afternoon.

I hate missing, because we committed. I think I was thinking "well, it's vacation weekend" which is true, but games start the following Saturday, so of course there's practice. And Deb called today and asked if I'd stay for her DD's party - John suddenly has a trip, so she didn't want 11 kids by herself. I said yes, and D should be home, but that movie doesn't end until nearly the end of baseball, anyway. You add in Buzz's second party, and that's it.

Oh, well.

We'll make everything else, so what can I do? It's just not in my nature...

D called about a half hour ago - he had a nice dinner in Boston with AIL and is on his way home.

I don't think I shared this story, either:

I called my neighbor to, um, complain a bit about the AIL showing up out of nowhere Monday night - I called her before they came, but after I'd finally heard the message.

Well, about 8:55 Monday night, I get a call from her - the AIL and UIL were in her driveway, unloading all the suitcases, etc. AIL had called for my address - she had the phone number, but hadn't brought the address. But the rental car had GPS. I gave her my street number, but apparently in the dark, they saw a "6" instead of an "8" and got confused.... My neighbor called because she was in her PJs and was very embarrassed! Oh, well...

YOWZA - that's waaay hot for you, isn't it? It's been terribly dry here, too. And we're far behind CA in terms of realizing we need to conserve water; no joke, we've emtpied the local supply but are still allowed to water lawns once a week.

This weather isnt as hot as it gets, but it is very hot for this time of the year. They dont really monitor the water strictly, but i remember last year singing the song from the commercial... Even numbers water on, tuesday, thursday, saturday. Odd numbers water on wednesday, friday, sunday. And never on Monday! lol

When Mr Diz had his wisdom teeth taken out, he was in high school and he told the nurse she had a nice chest and wanted to have relations with her. Only not in such a nice way. I was worried when he had his gall bladder and hernia surgery. Thank goodness he wasn't crude and just told everyone to call him Kdiddle because it's his rockband name.

It doesnt sound like the roommate is too happy about it. he said he doenst mind if it "visits". Marc is going to take her back and forth to work with him, but not at first until shes trained. So I dont know what were going to do. Maybe ill just keep her in my room and outside only for a while. I can set her up in the bathroom until shes potty trained maybe? Any advice?

I wooped the pants off of my midterm today! it was so easy! It should be since it was all review for me. I'm mind meltingly bored in this class.

Mini Rant:
In high school i was very close to 2 girls. CJ and Jen. When i went to school we grew apart. so for about 1 1/2 years we didnt talk much. In the past almost year weve reconnected and have gotten closer again. CJ and I anyway. This started about the same time she got engaged last spring. She didnt ask me to be one of her bridesmaids, but our other girlfriends are. I felt very hurt, but understood that i hadnt been around for a while. However we ekpt growing closer and she told me a while back that she wishes she could undo it. I still understood. shes getting married soon and already has her plans all set. I was hoping that shed at least let me be with her and help her get ready etc. Thats when she asked me to be her guest book girl. I felt pretty upset again that i would be asking people to sign a page rather than be there supporting her. It felt like a slap in the face, but she just wanted me to feel included. I, of course, was a good friend and told her that i would do whatever she needed because it was her day and if she wanted me to be the guest book person then i would. We are still currently talking often and keeping caught up. Im all alone up here in davis and she lives with our other BFF. CJ keeps me caught up on all the drama. And i try to keep undated and send little cards of support etc.

Today i found out that her and Brad (fiance) are being attacked by the rest of our friends. Im not quite sure why, but i know that they usually keep themselves on the sidelines while everyone else gets wrapped up in stuff. Warning confusing! Jen (roommate and other BFF) and her exBF (our other friend and roommate of brad the fiance) had just broken up and all of a sudden john starts harassing and attacking brad. and in the girls house, jen is doing the same thing to CJ! I dont understand, but I know that CJ feels horrible and is very upset and confused. Whos the one thats always been there for her(save a randon year) and never gotten the appreciation? Who has never turned her back or wronged CJ? Me! I love her dearly, but i sometimes get so hurt. I never imagined when we were growing up that we wouldnt be in each others weddings. Its a big i told you so moment for me.

I never imagined when we were growing up that we wouldnt be in each others weddings. Its a big i told you so moment for me.

It can be hard. I'm 37, just for reference. I had a friend who was one of my dearest friends from kindergarten. We even went to the same college, but then started hanging out with different crowds and grew apart for a while. She got married the summer after college graduation - I wasn't in the wedding. I was a little hurt, but not horribly - after all, we'd not been close for about 3 years. My mom was more ticked than I was about my "exclusion." (My mom and her mom are also best friends...)

Fast forward 6 years. She was divorced for a couple of years (a nasty situation, luckily, no kids) and I had been there for her through that. So, when I got married that year, I asked her to be a bridesmaid, and she was. When she got remarried (a much better deal) two years ago (and 7 years after my wedding), I was in that wedding...

The upshot: If you love your friend, be there, bridesmaid or not. Weddings are big, but not the end-all, be-all. If I had let the fact that I wasn't in her first wedding get to me too much, she wouldn't have leaned on me during her bad times, she wouldn't have been in my wedding, and I wouldn't have been in her second wedding - which she refers to as her "real" wedding, as this guy is truly her soulmate. Not that I'm saying this exact thing will happen to you, but understand that things change, but true friends will come through in the end.

And, for what it's worth, only one person - another friend from kindergarten - was in both her weddings. Friends change, grow apart, come back...

I hope I'm not being too preachy, but this struck a chord for me.

I asked marc if we could go to wdw for my b-day. I originally wanted to go to vegas with my great uncles. He spoils his daughter, and of course he said he would treat me. definitely not used to that. Marc was like...well i thought you were going to vegas, but i fixed that little loophole real quick! I know marc would want to go to vegas for his b-day, but he didnt want to go because his b-day is 2 months before mine and i wont be 21 yet. so...I offered to trade him birthdays. he can take me to WDW for my bday, and ill take him to vegas for his! Of course he ate that up and i even got a half way go ahead. I get to do the research, pick out dates, flights, and dining plans (maybe)etc. then i get to send him a document with all the info so he can see it for himself, and then hell decide. Hopefully I'll get lucky. His b-day is in august, so that means id have to get cracking. Im so excited! Of course i should be studying for midterms, so im going to get everything done and then get on the CM portal and compare prices!

So, I finally caught up on everything late last night, but didn't have time to post. It's been a crazy week around here (as usual). I can't wait until the end of school. It's hard to believe we only have about a month left!

I gotta go workout at some point today, but I haven't decided when. Then, DD7 has piano at 5:30. I'll drop her off and take DD5 to Kindergarten Roundup at the elementary school. DH will pick DD7 up from piano. I decided that was better than taking DD7 to the kindergarten thing with us. I'm afraid she'd try to make it all about her, kwim? So, I'm taking DD5 all by herself.

Otherwise, I've got to clean my house today. Been so busy that it's really disgusting here. I'll check in here every once in awhile though. It's supposed to be nice here starting today, so I'm hoping I can open up all the windows and air the house out!

I woke up with that headache, still. I think it's the weather - seems to be in the sinusi. But, we woke up yesterday morning to gorgeous, sunny weather. Then it clouded up and rained all afternoon/night. Now it's beautiful and sunny again this morning, but the Weather Channel 12-hour thing claims that it should be raining right now, and will be all day.

Anyway, it's wreaking havoc with my head.

And it's supposed to be 72 tomorrow - but 87 on Saturday! I live in NH, people. It's April! WTH???

And of course, we don't have central AC, and of course D's dad and stepmom are coming when the house will be miserable on Sunday, when it will merely be 86... Last year, when we were in France and they stayed with the kids, it got up over 90, and the AC wasn't in, because it was May and hadn't been above 70 when we left.
