DR's taking a nap so I'm able to get on here and play for a bit. I woke up with a headace this morning and was achy all over. I took some Advil this morning and then again this afternoon and feel a little better. The headache is pretty much gone but I still feel achy in my shoulders and neck.

It's so quiet here with out Ellie, no arguing or anything Today she had team building activities followed by a trip to Cromer and a walk to West Runton to examine rock pools, fossils and erosion!

CEL BEL is back to school.

BOYS5150 is leaving for WDW this weekend. They are setting up an aquarium for sharks.

ROSIE is eating at WDW for free in September. I think she is kinda excited.

MEL has to work off all the funnel cakes that were consumed at WDW. Has some major clean-up in the toilet areas. They could make that commode 10ft by 10ft and they would still manage to miss.

JODI has storm door issues.

I think I forgot to tell you that my shift was assigned a new supervisor. Our current supervisor was wonderful. This new one is a class A jerk. He knows it all. Has all these ideas. Basically tries to be a dic-tator. He gets the fist half natural. He knows nothing about our procedures but insists we do things his way. Procedures or not. He will only be covering the day shift.The night shift will be on their own - again. No real representation. That's fine until it comes to reviews.

Now they've decided to bring a woman to our area (dayshift) who is nothing but trouble. She screwed up the last job and the job before that. She uses the female card and sickness card every chance she gets. She is another know-it-all. The new supervisor thinks the sun rises and sets in her you know what. She should have been fired a long time ago.

I've worked in the same department for 9 years, basically at the same workstation. Our workstations are shared. I come in yesterday and the workstation I use has been 'personalized' by miss thing. Keyboard, mouse, even a stuffed animal???? I look at the new supervisor and say what is this stuff? He says, "Work with it." Not a good answer.

I worked with it. It all got unplugged and shoved in a cabinet. Then I sent out and e-mail to all our supervisors and department head about shared workstations.

I'll do it every day if I have to. My only consolation is that I don't think either one of them will be with us long. She won't be able to do this job any better than any other. As far as supervisors go, this is the 5th one I've had in 9 years.
Why do people have to be so irritating. And why can't supervisors be supervisors. In Kat's words, MEH!

Good afternoon Fockers!! I have been so busy lately and haven't been able to keep up. Bill had ankle surgery last summer and needed new corrective shoes. It took us months to finally get them and went to get the final fitting earlier this month . Bill ordered dark brown lace up shoes. The man pulled out black, velco strap shoes . Then he was snippy when we told him they were exactly opposite of what we had ordered. He mumbled he could change it to laces but would not eat the price of the shoe in order for Bill to get brown ones. Let's just say Tracy has never wanted to slap anyone in her life until that day

. We left, I called the manager the following Monday and now we have to go in today for us to physically show them once again exactly what shoes Bill wants.

Then on Wednesday Bill has a PT/OT evaluation to get the process of a new wheelchair going. He has had this one for over 7 years and is getting increasingly uncomfortable in it. So many appointments are happening, I just hope they help him feel comfortable and stop his pain .

Sorry for rambling, I promise to try to keep up from now on. I think I am just going to have to keep the Focker thread window open on my computer and refresh every couple of minutes to keep up .

Wierd/Sad/Scary day at work. One of the divisions is a financing division, in these carppy economic times they have foreclosed on some folks. One guy wandered into the main building, and our crack security force didn't stop him, he plopped himself down in a conference very close to where I am located, like 20 or 30 feet. He was wearing a long trench coat, was very dishelved looking. He demanded to see the owner (we are privately owned) because he had lost everything, his house, car, everything when the financing division foreclosed on him. Cops were called, portion of the building was put in lock down. Thank goodness it ended peacefully, but imagine if he was more off balance and had a weapon.

Just a very sad sign of our times.

Kristel I hope no one thinks of me as the type of supervisor you have but don't think so ! I back my staff and I have their back and guess what they do the same for me ! Teamwork is essential !! I am not soo smart that I think I know what's best for my consumers when I have staff who have been there over 20 years and they like that I ask them for ideas opinions etc !! Being a supervisor is not an easy job and if you don't have your staff'ssupport it is impossible so let the BIG Heads sink theselves !!

Hi guys... a very quick fly by as I have to get the kids to bed. We just got back home from County "Reflections"" results.... ( a fine arts competition for students in all 50 states through local PTA's... )

Sarabeth Placed Second. I am happy for her.. but she is Dissapointed... as she put it" I HAVE FAILED... I HAVE NEVER FAILED BEFORE".

There is some truth there... she has always gone to State for her Musical Composition entries... But she got sloppy this year and got tired of re-recording her entry... so she "Settled".

She is so mad right now... she does not even want to think about next year. Eventually that will change... and this time.. I know she will try harder.

Thanks V. That is why I will be going back to school and hopefully that will fill some time. Christmas time was hard and they were only gone for a week. But that was the first time he had had them since our divorce and had actually taken them out of the state of OH. Plus, with the cold weather and snow all I wanted to do was hide out inside and not go anywhere. At least with summer it stays light longer and I'll want to go out and do more.

And yes, I do have to agree with everyone else what a moron.

have you looked at the disney florist website? I dont know if its the same stuff they have posted on other places, but they have some cute decorations and treats to have in the room. Very expensive for some of them, but i believe they have options.

So im very busy all of a sudden. everyday i have to go to campus, then bus to work, then back to campus. sometimes repeating. ugh! This morning i had a great mammalogy lab! There were only 7 of us and we just spent 3 hours playing with bones! It was a great way to learn all of our bones and scientific names together! I had a blast playing with the whale skulls! I felt like i was 7 at a childrens museum.

Tomorrow will be just as hectic because we have our college program presentation. That means i have to pick out my disney look clothes tonight. I'm not awake enough in the morning to have a reasonable fashion sense!

Got to go finally look through some of my school work. You guys inspired me and as soon as i got home i started cleaning! I even organized the closet and under the sink in the bathroom Trust me when thats all the storage space i have, it gets messy!

Katt: Yay for Sarabeth. It may not have been first, but it's still quite a feat.

Dawn: OMG a maybe DVC!! I have no advice, since I'm not familiar. Maybe go with the one that has the best type of rooms for your family? I know AKV has the bunk beds so that's always a plus with the little ones, unless of course the bunk beds are too scary for you.

Again not a DVC expert, but maybe look into the # of points needed for stays at any given time for BLT v AKV. Yes you can use your points at any of the DVC when the window opens for non-home resorts, but it would be nicer to have the 11 month window at the resort you really want. (sort of V's option A explanation? ....this may have made no sense at all )

Go with what your heart wants in the long run.

I'm trying to plan a Disney birthday trip, but it seems like it's not going to work out. It was going to be my mom, brother and his girlfriend since her birthday is 2 days after mine and she'd get in for free.

But since he has to pay and he wants to pay her non-bday days, it's turning out to be too much. Plus food, gas, hotel.

Does anyone know if you have a regular base ticket if you'd get the birthday giftcard? Or does that only apply AP people?

I wonder if we should just do a waterpark or something.

I read the page I left and the last couple, and thanks to Kristel, I think I'm pretty well in the loop.

Mom is still here until tomorrow afternoon. We've been having fun, shopping and having girly lunches, etc. It's nice!

I think we're heading to the mall and Trader Joe's today. D flew Monday, but went to the office yesterday and is planning on it again today.

Tomorrow's crazy - tennis in the a.m., but Mom will have to drop me off, then go to Woody's book fair time at school. Then, I need to get Mom to the airport, get back for the bus, and then we have both kids' parent-teacher conferences before 5:00.

Anyway... I miss chatting with you all, but it's been a really nice week with Mom. When she was here at Christmas-time with my grandma, she didn't get to have much fun, and we didn't have this much time together.

Let's see. I don't know what will happen Friday or the weekend (well, I have the %$&# candle party here on Sunday evening ) but then D is gone all next week, so I'll be hard to get rid of then.

Well the bathroom is all stripped of wallpaper and the walls have all been washed down, I think the previous people loved their glue I'm now shattered so am resting David is away tonight, he has a works dinner for the managers then a big meeting tomorrow so he's staying at a hotel. He has never left me since we've lived in this house, hope I survive

HOLY CRAP !!! I am so glad you and everyone was safe... that could have ended differently.

I think we may be seeing more of this. I had a thought the other day anout Gold and the prices that stuff is selling for . Desperate people.. holding you up for just your wedding ring.. especially if the speculation that it will reach $1000.00+ an ounce comes true.I know it has come down a bit.. but it's not far from being $1000.00 now.

I don't think I told you all we switched Jimmy's psychologist. We just weren't happy with the other one. She wanted to talk to me and Jim and NEVER actually spoke to Jimmy. Kind of hard to diagnose something/one when you dont' talk to them isn't We saw the new doctor yesterday and right out of the boc I liked her. She said to me, I want to talk to you today, but after this I want to talk to aJimmy alone. There are some things I don't think he tells us becasue he is afraid he will get in trouble

Why do kids keep things from us The people that will love them NO MATTER WHAT. Hope this Dr works out for all of you.

Well, like I said on FB, we went to tour the DVC place. I loved AKV. It was gorgeous. But, the ammenities of BLT is more along the lines of what I'm looking for- monorail, Wishes on the beach...


The trip was nice. I tried to balance relaxing with going, so it was nicer than last trip. Knowing we may be back once a year, alllowed me to slow down a bit and think of it as, "We'll do it next time" instead of we'll miss it if we don't hurry. I didn't want to come home so exhausted I didn't want to go back. The 4/3 deal was nice, but I'd have to say that it was about 2 days too long for me. We'll have to think it out better next time. I'm also so done with large sit-down meals every day. It was too much.

Now's your chance, Fockers, what say you- good or bad- for each AKV and BLT? Also, what are your best DVC tips? I know there's a whole board about this topic, but I trust you guys more. And, it's not like this place is hopping anyway.

I would think you would be best doing Resale... unless you think you need the "perks" you can get for buying "New with Disney"

You don't HAVE to go during the busy times even though you could...
so you could easily have your Home in One place... and stay where ever you wanted I would think... However Holiday's like Christmas might be a problem.

We aren't doing sit down's every day this year Dawn. It's too much for Jimmy. The good thing is that with CS there is enough variety that you don't feeli like all you are eating is burgers and dogs

Those Planned Sit-downs at a certain time don't work for us either. There is always the "Counter Service Only plan" I think that's an option now.. isn't it

Also, Dawn, just because you buy at one resort, doesn't mean you have to stay there. We bought resale at OKW (much cheaper than buying from Disney) and have only stayed there once. We did New Year's week at VWL and then a weekend split between BCV and AKV. The booking window might affect you, but unless you're traveling at peak times, it shouldn't be too bad.

See this is why if I ever bought DVC I would be sooooo confused. Jim would be the points police!

Not lazy... too much drama here this morning.

Sarabeth is home sick... I have to go BACK to the Dr and get a Sick Note because I think I need the documentation... after they threatened me at the first of the school year with Sara's absences last school year. Talking Court and Family Services.. and the "MONITORING" of her absences.

This stomach bug is rough that she has. She has cried and I wound up sleeping with her last night for a while. NOTHING makes the stomach not hurt. I hate not being able to help her feel better.
