Also, Dawn, just because you buy at one resort, doesn't mean you have to stay there. We bought resale at OKW (much cheaper than buying from Disney) and have only stayed there once. We did New Year's week at VWL and then a weekend split between BCV and AKV. The booking window might affect you, but unless you're traveling at peak times, it shouldn't be too bad.

Hi V - Sorry you are missing Leo:hug: When does he come home?
Hi Janet! Not till next Monday. :sad1:

I don't think I told you all we switched Jimmy's psychologist. We just weren't happy with the other one. She wanted to talk to me and Jim and NEVER actually spoke to Jimmy. Kind of hard to diagnose something/one when you dont' talk to them isn't:confused3 We saw the new doctor yesterday and right out of the boc I liked her. She said to me, I want to talk to you today, but after this I want to talk to aJimmy alone. :thumbsup2 There are some things I don't think he tells us becasue he is afraid he will get in trouble:sad2:
Sounds like a good move! :thumbsup2

Now's your chance, Fockers, what say you- good or bad- for each AKV and BLT? :surfweb: Also, what are your best DVC tips? I know there's a whole board about this topic, but I trust you guys more.
I have a couple suggestions...

1. Yes, go to the DVC boards and spend some quality time there. I do regularly and I promise - the people on there KNWO what they're doing and have very, very sound advice. :thumbsup2

2. I see the choice of home resort falling into one of two categories: A. you have a favorite resort that you'll really, really want to be at regularly, or B. you'd like to try a bunch out and it doesn't much matter what's available as long as you can get in somewhere.

If you fall into A, buy at that place, especially if it's a small DVC property like BCV or VWL - you'll want that 11 month window to ensure you get in where you want. If being on the monorail is really important, buy at BLT and know you can stay elsewhere if the mood strikes you.

I happen to fall into B. I love SSR (my home resort) and don't mind staying there at all. I also like trying the others out and frequently try for them at the 7 month point, but it won't wreck my vacation to stay at SSR if that's all that's available.

Well, I shared this with you on the phone but it bears repeating. When planning and counting points for various stays/length/resorts remember that to book Sun-Thurs is LOW pts.
Keep in mind, this changes as of 2010, though, and can continue to change in the future. I would not go by current point charts exclusively, but use them as a general idea. Many categories changed for the 2010 UY, with weekends going down, weeknights going up and some times of year doing the same.

And you chose to WALK 5 miles. :sad2: Poor David. LMAO!!!!!!
It was his decision :rotfl2:

Why did I think you were all going??? I didn't realize this was a solo trip:confused3
I didn't either!!!!

JoI loved the Norfolk pix !!!
Thought you would :goodvibes

Long lost Focker checking in....
Hi Jodi

And the kicker is...... he has to come back sometime today!!!! He had to switch around the latch and broke the lockset in the process.
What a pain!!!

I'm up. I'm up. It's so nice to sleep in my bed. :lovestruc It's dark and rainy here and I'm loving it.
Welcome home Dawn!

Jo hasn't checked in so she must be playing golf or walking 17 miles;)
Golf :rotfl2: And sounds as though the new Dr is good!

We wouldn't be able to become DVC owners until the house is sold, so that's what's holding us up. :confused3 The house thing isn't going well, but I still have faith at this point. Talk to me in a few weeks and it may be different. :sad2:
I know nothing about DVC but it all sounds good, the BLT rooms looked fantastic when I did the tour :thumbsup2

Hi everyone else :wave2:

Been to golf and then I've been stripping the wallpaper in the girls bathroom, I stripped the top layer and will do the bottom layer tomorrow and hopefully wash the walls down so I can paint on Thursday :thumbsup2

OK silly question if you were to rate something and there were 5 circles like this ooooo would you think 1 circle was good or bad???

Hi Janet! Not till next Monday. :sad1:

Wow that's a long time. Is this his Spring Break or something?

See this is why if I ever bought DVC I would be sooooo confused. Jim would be the points police!

I would think the 1st circle would be the lowest score and the last circle would be the highes score

I'd be completely confused! :confused3

Wow that's a long time. Is this his Spring Break or something?
Yep, Spring Break this week, so his dad gets him form the time school lets out until it starts back up. We alternate, so I'll have Spring Break next year and he'll have Thanksgiving. I hate it!

:rotfl: It's really not so bad. I keep a spread sheet and just decide when I want to vacation, then test out various resorts until I make the points "fit." Let's call it Fuzzy Points Management. ;)

Afternoon all.

I'm lacking "umph" as I posted on FB. I was going to go into the city today and just do a bit of shopping and such but I am not motivated at all.

I know I'm gonna be bored but it's one of those blah weeks for me. I'm just wishing KC was around to go out shopping with me, I may just have to recruit him this weekend.

Man I can't wait to hear back from disability to see if I should keep up the job search or not. Waiting stinks.

Anyways I'm off to go find some cure for the boredom.

Hi Kat!

Jo - how do I find all the celebratory things you can buy at WDW? Poor Leo's been told by his dad he can't have a Bday party (he's with dad for his Bday this year), so I'm thinking I need to spruce up our May visit as more of a celebration. :guilty:

Good afternoon Fockers!! I have been so busy lately and haven't been able to keep up. Bill had ankle surgery last summer and needed new corrective shoes. It took us months to finally get them and went to get the final fitting earlier this month :sad2:. Bill ordered dark brown lace up shoes. The man pulled out black, velco strap shoes :scared1:. Then he was snippy when we told him they were exactly opposite of what we had ordered. He mumbled he could change it to laces but would not eat the price of the shoe in order for Bill to get brown ones. Let's just say Tracy has never wanted to slap anyone in her life until that day

. We left, I called the manager the following Monday and now we have to go in today for us to physically show them once again exactly what shoes Bill wants.

Then on Wednesday Bill has a PT/OT evaluation to get the process of a new wheelchair going. He has had this one for over 7 years and is getting increasingly uncomfortable in it. So many appointments are happening, I just hope they help him feel comfortable and stop his pain :sad1:.

Sorry for rambling, I promise to try to keep up from now on. I think I am just going to have to keep the Focker thread window open on my computer and refresh every couple of minutes to keep up :thumbsup2.

Margie - Have a great time at the beach!

Janet - Good call on the doc. :thumbsup2 That's what Lindsey's psych does...talks with me for about 15-20 mins and then spends the rest of the time with her. Good Luck with Jimmy's report!

Mel, Dawn & Z - Welcome back!

OK silly question if you were to rate something and there were 5 circles like this ooooo would you think 1 circle was good or bad???

I would think 1 circle would be the lowest and 5 would be the highest.

 V. I know the feeling of missing the kiddos. Mine will be gone for 6 weeks come summer and I have no idea what I am going to do with myself. LOL

One good thing about our spring break is that its usually shortened due all the snow days we have. I get them this year and we only get Fri & Mon off.

Awww poor kiddo. :(

*****************************************

DR's taking a nap so I'm able to get on here and play for a bit. I woke up with a headace this morning and was achy all over. I took some Advil this morning and then again this afternoon and feel a little better. The headache is pretty much gone but I still feel achy in my shoulders and neck.

I need to get some laundry thrown in the washer and dryer and get my kitchen cleaned up but other than that nothing big planned.

Linds had t-ball last night and LOVED it! Both of my kids were wpre out. LOL Lindsey was tired from running around chasing balls and DR was tired out from playing on the playground.

That's about it for me. :cutie:

I can't even imagine! :hug::hug:

Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry if I am out of line here, but what Moron:mad:
Nope, not out of line at all - he IS a moron! :rotfl2:
Thanks for the link! :thumbsup2

 Could he be planning a surprise party??
Nope, he told me himself - he lives with his parents and his dad works nights and doesn't want Leo's friends coming over. Knowing Leo's dad, he also just doesn't want to be bothered.
Thank you, you are NOT out of line, I called him much worse than a moron ;).

===================================================

Jo I was over on the mom's panel site. 485 questions:eek::lmao: No wonder you are always busy. Go girl! I rated all of your 5's!
Well, at least the one's I read..I can't read all of them:rotfl2:

Hey all! Remember me? I'm slowly coming out from beneath a pile of sports equipment and should be back here with some regularity by next week. Soccer ends Saturday, but lacrosse goes into May. At least it will be two down, one to go.

Miss you all!:grouphug:
