In other news... Leo wants to invite a friend over to play. Help!!! We've never done this before - are there rules of engagement?! (He's been in day care 8 hours a day since he was 6 months old, and is away from my house every other weekend, so he's never before wanted to see friends on weekends - he'd had enough all week.) I don't know the boy or his parents - I was planning to write a note saying "Hi, this is Leo's mom - Leo would like to invite J over to play one weekend afternoon. Can you give me a call at 123-4567 or email me at me@me to talk about arranging something?" Is that right? What do I do with them if he does come over - does a parent stay at this age (1st grade) - do I need to entertain her/him, too? I'm clueless, lol!

I can answer the playdate questions.
1. Your note is a great idea. ...
I never let my kids go play without a note or call and a few minutes "face time" with the parents.

2. Maybe you can meet on neutral ground for the first playdate? .....

3. You shouldn't need to entertain as much as "gently guide" them into appropriate things. I offer suggestions for things to do if they are getting rough or wild.

4. NUMBER ONE RULE. KEEP IT SHORT. REALLY. ONE HOUR. SERIOUSLY!!!
You can lengthen as they (and you) get more used to each other.

GOOD LUCK! (it really is a beautiful thing when they play ALONE and you can read a book!!! it will happen...)

it came to 960 total plus 15/bag. we can drive for under 500. so , i think i'm going to wait a little bit , take some time to think about it. decisions, decisions.

plus we're about 3 hours closer now that we've moved . so that will save on time and money.

Yowza! Per person it's a great deal...but add it up and it's another thing entirely.

Well I paid off my cruise! Now I just need to pay off the WDW portion in a months time and then it is a done deal.

Good morning all. for all the the sickies and allergy sufferers. I'm at work and jimmy went back to school today:thumbsup2 His throat was a bit read, but I think that is from the past nasal drip. He was excited to go becasue they were going to have a storyteller today.

glad jimmy's feeling better! i love to plan other people's disney trips.

/
Rachel- What is the drive from where you are? Would the time saved be worth the $400 difference to fly?

Lessa- Yippee on paying off the cruise. :cool1:

Janet- I too love planning others trips! I have 2 I am working on right now. Both are super last minute trips, so that isn't quite as FUN! ;)

_________________________

SO, I have edited my scrap weekend pictures and now I am uploading to Costco. .13 per print YIPPEE!!! My upload says 185 minutes... I guess I am uploading a lot of pictures... I forgot to count.

I'm home. I didn't like the house. The word is that we need to list this house. So, I'm going to pack more. I'll catch up laters...
Oh no Dawn, could you rent for awhile?

I want to publicly THANK BOTH LESSA & JO for trying to help find a me find something to help my kids with this wart-rash they both came down with. My Dr. said you could get something in the UK & Canada to heal it. Both went out of their way to try to find it. THANKS GIRLS! That is true DIS Friends! LOVE YA!
Awww you're so sweet  Have a great time scrapping :goodvibes

Speaking of Wisconsin, I just booked a room for a couple of days at the Comfort Suites in Lake Geneva. $176. It seems Doogles will be off the last week of June and the 1st week of July.
Sounds good, cute video :goodvibes

Well, thanks for leaving me a few pages to read guys - I needed the distraction badly. :grouphug: I've been sitting here on the verge of tears since 8:10am... it's bad when the first ten minutes of work leave you wishing you were anywhere else, right? :sad1: I'm trying to just stay away from all the drama, but it keeps coming to find me and I'm just plain tired of it. I know that once we get past the budget cuts, IF I'm still employed, things will be fine again; we all really get along well when not fighting for our jobs. But that's 6 months away - a long time to live like this everyday.
I'm sorry V

Mr Diz was working last night on the laptop. He sent an email to everyone under him on this project he's on, it also went out to all the managers and the VP.

It said:
Thank you for the hard work on this week you all have given me.

EXCEPT - he left out the word WORK
:lmao: :lmao:

A girl replied back "Anything for you.":lmao: :lmao:

He said he is getting a lot of replies this morning.
OMG :rotfl2: No wonder he was getting lots of replies :rotfl2:

Wooohooooo

Played a nice game of golf today, then dashed around the supermarket just in time to pick Ellie up from school. Now I'm shattered :rotfl2:

Rachel- What is the drive from where you are? Would the time saved be worth the $400 difference to fly?
it's about 14 hours. but if we drive we could bring some snacks , water bottles, etc. plus we would have to car to take downtown disney and water parks. so, i'm not sure which would be better. we're going to take some time and think about it.

wow, that's a lot of pictures!!! can you post some pics of your scrapbook, i would love to see!

glad you got to play golf!! and i just love the word shattered!! i'm going to steal it from ya! :)

Driving by at lunch today and YEAH I found you all...

V - we had 2 layoffs last year in other areas and I know they are talking of letting a few here and there that aren't performing, etc. It is so hard. I was laid off from my last job, some guy in India now has that job, I do think I am better off now oddly enough. I do love my work , despite my complaints about the hours and I never would be here if I wasn't forced to find a new job 3 years ago. One door closes and another opens.

Janet - glad Jimmy is feeling better

Rachel = 14 hours is a long drive, did you look into a rental while you are there

Lessa - WTG on paying off the Cruise, I will want details as I have one more niece that I owe a trip to (other than my Focker nieces;) ) and I am thinking maybe a land sea trip. This wouldn't be until 2011, but you know how I love to plan!

Mary - :lmao: at Mr Diz

Forgot what else I read, and I need to leave early today as it's get a needle stuck in my good foot day:sad2: My surgery is now 3 weeks away on my bad foot and I have my pre op physical tomorrow. I have to have the full work up as I am over 40:eek:

Details will not be a problem, you'll just have to make sure to read my TR when I get back. ;)

MO: Thinking good thoughts for you! Needles suck.

Hi guys!
I`m just getting out the door to go shopping at the mall with Elizabeth.
she seems to be doing okay. ;) a little overmedicated I think. :sad2:
she`ll be here until Sunday.
have a great day everyone!

hugs  to V! for being stressed at work.
hugs:hug: to Dawn for being stressed about finding a house. something great will happen!

Rachel. FLY!!! :rolleyes1

UGH.. sorry about the needle... and may I add...
BEING OVER 40 SUCKS... :headache:
but it's better than the alternative.

Trying to get Scott last minute flights to Seattle. He is leaving Sunday and will be back Tuesday. Cheapest thing , NOT BOOKED...:headache: :headache: :headache:
BWI :scared1: YUP BALTIMORE:scared1: We are not near ANYTHING to get decent rates we have to drive a MINIMUM 2 and maybe 4 hours... BWI is around 5 hours away... but over 100.00 cheaper.
Now I am working on Hotel and Car...:headache: :headache:

Came across a NEW Traveling search aide engine called AWAY.Com. You can tell it WHICH sites ( Hotwire, Priceline, Orbitz... etc) to check and it pulls them all up for you at one shot so you can compare quicker.

Oh Well just checking in back to searching:surfweb:

Afternoon all. Spent all this time doing an online test of our new statewide computer system. I hate computer classes/tests. They are PITA!

Mo! Miss you  Sorry about the foot? When is surgery scheduled for? Will you ahve to stay over night?

Katt - I found that away.com when I was playing with airfare and stuff on Monday. I didn't like it too much:confused3

Katt - I found that away.com when I was playing with airfare and stuff on Monday. I didn't like it too much:confused3

It just allows me to check multiple places all at the same time... usually I pull all those up individually . In itself... not so much just a time saver.

Are you and Jimmy all better now ??

Lori, I think the tentative plan is Columbus Day weekend...making it a no-go for me...#1 son's birthday.

Aw man...don't think I can make this one. I'll be in school and from the looks of it I would have a 3 day weekend but not my kids. Finding a sitter wouldn't be a problem but the sitter lives a good 20 minutes away from us and would just be too much work and drama to get to school and such. I may still think on it though.

OH MY!!!! I completely forgot my mothers birthday is next FRIDAY!!!! I need to get it together. SO what do you Fockers think .... dinner out with just the 6 of us or invite my brothers and their families over and have food brought in? :confused3

I'd say invite the whole family over and have a party but that's what I would want for mine. LOL

DS has influenza, yet had the vaccine. Bummer! His temp ranges from 102-104. I did get it to break for a few hours today! I feel so sad for the little man. SO I have been home caring for my little guy for the past few days.

 Hope he starts feeling bettrer soon!

I'm home. I didn't like the house. The word is that we need to list this house. So, I'm going to pack more. I'll catch up laters...

 Dawn. I know its hard and your feeling rushed but I'm sure you'll find something you like and soon. Good Luck!

A plus is my mom doesn't drink so we have a designated bus locater for the trip, beats tattooing the hotel and room numbers to our butts.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Home from work:woohoo: Helping my plumber plan his Disney trip. He is going August 20th and is staying at the Poly:thumbsup2 He had Jim text me for recommendations on restaurants and stuff and I kept texting back more questions. Finally I told him to leave his email addy and I will email him information!:thumbsup2

Sounds like fun! :)

OK that's enough. I really need to get caught up on some TRs.
In closing I'd like to share a video of Max.

Kristel...:worship: :worship: :worship:

Max is so cute and glad he's doing better. about the SIL and brother and how things are going with that. And I forgot to say the other day YAY! on Doug's tumor and the shrinking part.

I was going to clean today but instead I think I'll pay some bills and rest some more. I'm not as achy and sick feeling anymore. Still stuffed up though!

Glad your feeling a little better Mel.

Good morning! :goodvibes My sister and I are going to out first spring training game today! :cheer2: Go Braves! The weather is supposed to be nice so hopefully I'll get some sun.

:cheer2: Have fun!

OMG, she was unreal! I just kept thinking, "Who cares what Gretchen's relationship with Jeff was - it's none of your bsuiness anyway!" :sad2:

Yes! I was thinking the same exact thing!

 That really sounds like no fun at all and hopefully it'll get better in the next few weeks. Its still gotta be hard though.

The note sounds like an excellent idea! I like the ideas from the others to meet at a park or playplace for the first time and make it a short playdate. I've have yet to have mine go to other kids houses or even have other kids over.

Hysterical story

I think my DS's fever has broke for good. (lets hope). I need to take Tink to a make-up dance class today and organize my scrapbooking supplies and prep my photo's to upload to Costco. I am leaving tomorrow for my retreat! I am a bit nervous because we are getting a snow storm today/tonight and the drive is a about 2.5 hours tomorrow. Lets hope that snow stops falling before I need to leave.

Yay on DS's fever! Good Luck with the weather! I saw they were talking about it on TWC this morning and what was headed that way. I'm just hoping it doesn't hit us. I'm sick of snow!

Too funny - I'm just the opposite! I retain almost nothing verbally - I have to see things in print to get it through my head.

YES! I'm the exact same way!

need advice please..........................

Out of PIT? That's a really good price!

plus we're about 3 hours closer now that we've moved . so that will save on time and money.

Where are you again in WV? Hunington or the Charelston area? Or was it near Morgantown? I so forget. LOL I'm close to Wheeling so Pittsburgh's an hour away for us. We have Columbus thats 2 hours but rarely ever go that way.

Oh man...all that traveling just to get to an aiport does suck! I know when we lived in DC we would fly out of BWI as well because it was cheaper. It was never a fun thing to be sitting in traffic just to catch your flight on time. Hope you find something! And thanks for the website.
