We had a loooooong day. But a really fun one! We had to take 2 buses to get to Ikea but it was really easy and the 2nd bus lets you off at the store front so I can't complain!

I brought the camera so I could take pics of prospective furniture but ended up taking some others as well. So why not share?!

We first ate the very awesome and cheap ($1.99) breakfast platter! Total for breakfast was around $7!! :woohoo: I drank lots of yummy coffee and we relaxed a bit. I took a few pics of the view too- it was pretty cool.

Thats downtown Brooklyn through the windows of the food court.

KC had some juice and I had fun taking a picture of it and getting the window reflection in it. I was feeling artsy- sort of.
2368867280070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

We wandered our way around the endless showroom and found the piece we really wanted when we first saw it...
2574141580070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

I wanted it in black and no red doors or whatever. BUT it won't fit any TVs over 37 inches and KC wants a 42 inch. so we looked on....

we then found this...which is the same line but a bookcase...which will hold any size TV on it.
2608904690070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

There's also a smaller one we may get 2 of and put together but I'm undecided on that. We also found some skinny shelves that we could put next to the bookcase to make it more like a wall unit.

2124003040070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

Tired of looking at furniture yet? OK here's KC and our new lamps...

2490048270070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

All we ended up actually buying was: the 2 square lamps, a tea strainer, some S hooks, a table runner and bulbs for the lamp.

So we did walk around for a few hours and KC wanted to go back up for some lunch and who am I to say no to cheap food! So off we went. We had the Swedish meatballs of course! and KC tried some sparkling drink that was yummy.

Now anyone who saw my TR saw that we found this on our WDW travels and found the name really funny....

2670012470070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

So you see why this cracked me up, and we had to try it!

2508112440070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

We ended up taking it to go tho, I'll have to let you know later if it was good or not. :thumbsup2

We also noticed something we missed during breakfast...the awesome view from the other end of the food court! This is what we could see:

Yep Lady Liberty chillin' near Ikea, who knew!? Cool huh?????

So when we got to the checkouts we succumbed to the pressures of the Swedish and bought some darn meatballs too...oh and cinnamon rolls just cause they were huge and really cheap. Can ya tell I like a bargain? :confused3 :rotfl:

Anyways we bussed it home and here I am, boring you all to death and entertaining myself with "My Trip To Ikea by KatGarcia".

The End.

I love silly cat stories. Mine is a wack job sometimes. If there is any plastic bag in his reach he WILL find it while I am sound aslep and rub on it and make all kinds of noise! what a PITA. LOL.

Did you see my comment about Visalia last night???

ya thats pretty random about Visalia. I dont see what the appeal would be for people, so it seems pretty wierd and random when I hear stuff like that.

oh and about the plastic bags...my two cats are brothers and they grew up as kittens (duh...not puppies:rolleyes:) together. I think their first experience with a plastic bag almost gave me a heart attack. My sister and i were sleeping in my room and we hear this noise and then a cat running down the hall with something trailing after it. Turns out Apollo got the handle wrapped around his neck and when he tried to run away from the scary noise:eek: it just parachuted behind him AKA chased him. :scared1: So they ran under my bed and my sister and i had to find him and pull the bag off. They were so freaked out!

It's a TRAGIC evening here in the Falls !! :sad2:Ayoung man was killed on his motor cycle just 2 blocks from me !!! :sad1:Apparently he and some buddies were racing up and down the Blvd for about half hour ,he was doing wheelies and the cops were after him ! :scared1::scared1:Acar pulled out of a gas station and he wheelied into it and flew through the air !! His bike was in pieces all across the road . The area is all yellow taped and cops etc are everywhere !! Judy walked up later and discovered that she works with one of them who was with him and she knew him! :sad2:The car has a totally cruched oneside of the trunk that is a little wider than the cycles tires !! :scared1:Why do people do such stupid stuff !! Now a mother has lost a son and a child a father etc !!T:sad2:hey had just left work so shouldn't have had time to be drunk!!! I :sad2:am just mortified !!:sad1:

thats so awful! :sad1:

At first i thought...ok a parking lot that sucks! :rotfl:

This is what we replaced it with.

Trucks001.jpg

I'm not joking. These are our trucks.
rofl.gif
:lmao: Those are great, Kristel. I'd post pics of our lawn mowers if we had some. ;):rotfl2:
Howdy all. I went into Easter commando mode today-Easter baskets (for two nephews, two brothers, two DSIL's, DSIL's little sister, and my mother) are done. Easter egg hunt stuff is done (although a set of HSM eggs were beckoning to me in CVS). Now we just need to buy food. Oh, and we got a new fridge, our old one kicked the bucket last week.
Our local discount store had $10 crocs-I got the Adaras in silver/lavendar and the pink/khaki mickey beaches.
Wow, Hedy - you went all out. Now I'm feeling cheap, as I bought pre-mades from Costco. :rolleyes1
Are you done with Brownies now
Nope, not yet. But our last cookie booth is this weekend. Thank GOD I don't have to run it! :woohoo: Our last meeting is in June. :thumbsup2

What did you put in his coffee? I want some for Jim
Dude, I don't know what's up with him. There was no trampoline involved or anything! :confused3:lmao:

Not much else planned for the weekend. I am probably going to start the spring cleaning, so hopefully it will be a productive weekend!
Blech... spring cleaning... blech! :scared:

That is very sad, Rosie. So sorry to hear that. These guys on motorcycles scare the bejeezus outta me. I saw a bad motorcycle accident on the freeway a few years back - it was the day before Father's Day and I cried all the way home thinking of this young mans father and how devasted he must be. :sad1:
Sounds like a great weekend planed, I wish I could whisk away to a Disney place for a bit! for Waldo!! Does he realize how big of a fan club he has rooting for his quick recovery? ;)
Yeah, he got a get well card from a Focker and it really made his day. He calls you all "his Foakers". Yup that's not a typo - he pronounces it FOAKERS. :lmao:

Dude I love IKEA. I think I'll drag Andy there tomorrow. :teeth:

BTW, we have go to set up an AC game night! My animals are talking all about you, saying you're a bell pincher and a fishing fiend! :lmao: Oh and Blanca came to visit and showed me the face you drew her!

*************************************************

Just got back from the Frozen Yogurt shop they just opened. It's self-serve and they have a gazillion toppings, then you pay by the ounce. It's great! :thumbsup2 I got myself some Non-fat Chocolate yogurt with dark chocolate sprinkles and fresh strawberries. Can you say YUM? :cloud9:

My friend moved there for her now husband, she went to Cali for school originally. We didn't do much when we were there tho, lol.

OMG about the cats - cracks me up!!

We do need a game night - ED- WHEN IS GOOD 4 U NEXT WEEK??? WED??
And sorry about the freaky Blanca face- yours was so pretty- KC did the one you saw. LOL.

Way to go Sarabeth!!! I did all those choirs and stuff when I was in school. Anything with singing and I was in! Are you gonna video the national anthem solo??

::yes:: I usually film concerts that Sarabeth is in. ( ALL OF IT) so you KNOW Momma will have that camera rolling. It's an all day thing for her. They will leave school at 11:30 go to the "Host School" and practice till 5:00 . They will then eat supper and get dressed for the event which begins at 7:00. I HOPE that she does not have HOME WORK that night.

I think parenting in general is very lax these days, at least around here.

I agree.. don't know weither they do not care, think their kid can do no wrong, or ar too busy to care. Sadly The last option is probably a BIG FACTOR:sad2:

What do you get for the $1.99 breakfast Katt ??

Wow do you guys all have lifes or something???? :rotfl2:

so we'll go and renew our passes this weekend. Believe it or not, it was Andy's idea. :faint:
Wow!!!!!!

I don't know if I really need to do an update right now. Maybe later. I just wanted to show you our 'Redneck' vehicles.

This is the one that is being replaced. We couldn't find a snow plow for it.
Very cool Kristel and looks like you have loads of land!

Howdy all. I went into Easter commando mode today-Easter baskets (for two nephews, two brothers, two DSIL's, DSIL's little sister, and my mother) are done. Easter egg hunt stuff is done (although a set of HSM eggs were beckoning to me in CVS).
You're fantastic Hedy!

::Home from work and it's Friday:dance3: No work, no thinking about work, no nothing. Jim and Jimmy are going to go to the playground tomorrow and I am going to run to Michaels. Jimmy's art supply box is getting abit barren and I need to pick up some patches to repair 2 pairs of school pants. I just need to get them to last through the end of the school year.
Enjoy your weekend Janet, you deserve it

It's a TRAGIC evening here in the Falls !!
That's terrible Rosie

If anyone reads this by 10am EST watch TBS, 101 Dalmations as you should see me, for about 2 seconds but still :rotfl2:

It's just hailed here

We've been packing Ellie's case today, she's going on her school trip on Monday to Friday, they're going to Norfolk which is the county where David and I are from and she's been there loads but she'll still have fun :thumbsup2

I took a few pics of the view too- it was pretty cool.

So we did walk around for a few hours and KC wanted to go back up for some lunch and who am I to say no to cheap food! So off we went.

:lmao:KC's comment sounds like Scott the other day we went for breakfast somewhere... he said.. "let's just sit here for another hour and order lunch" :rotfl2:

We also noticed something we missed during breakfast...the awesome view from the other end of the food court! This is what we could see:

[/QUOTE]

I could not handle living in such a big city as you Kat.. but you do have incredible opportunities to do and see things like "Lady Liberty". Sadly I will never see it in person.

Anyways we bussed it home and here I am, boring you all to death and entertaining myself with "My Trip To Ikea by KatGarcia".

The End

At least you are posting something... Everybody has ground to a halt around here.
Geesh.. 9:30 am and I am first... :sad2: I 've been up since 7:30. Fixed Scott's breakfast and he is heading off to do grounds work at church this morning BEFORE it begins TO RAIN... AGAIN:headache:. At least the temps. have warmed up back to around 60. I am also thankful that I am not in those areas that are Flooding, Freezing, or having tornado's.

We are going to see "Witch Mountain" this afternoon. Curious how is will play off the 2 originals.

OOH Scott and I caught an early showing of "Knowing" last week ( Nicholas Cage) Pretty intense.. heart gripping especially if you have kids and are trying to protect them.. only to realize you are being separated from them in the end.. but you know they are safe. PG-13 is too tame for that.. it should be R not for bad language or such.. but the disaster scenes are ( or were for me) nightmarish.

Yes.. I would say go see it.. but hold on to your seat.

I'll check back later and see if there are signs of life here on the TFW

Morning Fockers! Daran actually took BA for her 8:15 am cheer practice so I got to sleep in! Have to pick her up at 1 and then Ab wants to go prom dress shopping.
Do they have proms in UK, Jo??

Kristel---drive your trucks in my neck of the woods anytime! You'd feel right at home (and probably find long lost kin-folk! :lmao:)

Kat--neat pic of Liberty! but I was most impressed with the availability of parking!

-------------
Did I tell you all I booked the Bahamas trip? We are headed to Nassau 6/27 for a week! :cool1:
Just got the girls passports yesterday!

Continuing goat saga.............

So whilst Daran was in DC and in the midst of torrential down pours, I slipped the goats into the forbidden barnyard, unbeknownst to him..............when he called from the airport, I quickly ran and herded the goats back into the regulated area.........albeit one without the comforts of a barn..................they sadly greeted him....."BAA---we've been SO-o-o wet".............after I returned from cheer practice............I looked over to see the goats warmly sheltered in their barn.................................and Daran drawing out plans to build a shelter this weekend! :goodvibes

Yup - we let our passes expire in September. Too crowded, too many locals, etc. With the economy, things have slowed down and we've been missing it, so we'll go and renew our passes this weekend. Believe it or not, it was Andy's idea. :faint:
I knew you all would come around, lol!

Trucks001.jpg

I'm not joking. These are our trucks.
Hmmm, I can't see it. Is it hiding in the foliage? :rotfl:;)

Howdy all. I went into Easter commando mode today-Easter baskets (for two nephews, two brothers, two DSIL's, DSIL's little sister, and my mother) are done. Easter egg hunt stuff is done (although a set of HSM eggs were beckoning to me in CVS).

Home from work and it's Friday:dance3: No work, no thinking about work, no nothing.
Yay!! :yay::hug:

It's a TRAGIC evening here in the Falls !!
So sad Rosie. :sad2:

And my opinion of the Italian food is MEH in WDW, but I live close enough to Little Italy so I may be biased.
Me too. I'm half Italian and experienced teh good stuff via my grandmother and great-grandmother. We have an awesome little place around teh corner that serves it up just like my family did! I eliminated Tutto, but I'm still considering Tony's, if only for a salad. I like the atmosphere, not the food, lol!

I brought the camera so I could take pics of prospective furniture but ended up taking some others as well. So why not share?!
Ack, are you trying to kill me?! I love Ikea - it's a dangerous place for V. :teeth:

oh and about the plastic bags...my two cats are brothers and they grew up as kittens (duh...not puppies:rolleyes:) together. :scared1:
:lmao: One of my cats did the exact same thing - it was hysterical!

He calls you all "his Foakers". Yup that's not a typo - he pronounces it FOAKERS. :lmao:
Why am I not surprised?! :rotfl2:

If anyone reads this by 10am EST watch TBS, 101 Dalmations as you should see me, for about 2 seconds but still :rotfl2:
Darn, I missed it! :guilty:

I'll check back later and see if there are signs of life here on the TFW
I'm alive!

**************************************************

Good morning! It's windy as all get-out here, which is just blowing gobs of oak pollen all over the place... I may stay inside all day. My sinuses and lungs are bad enough as it is - went to a friend's house last night for a few drinks and catching up. I'm very allergic to dogs, though some more than others, with Golden Retrievers being one of the absolute worst triggers. My friend has had a American Bulldog/ Pit bull mix for years and she's never bothered my allergies very much. Well the friend got a new dog; guess what breed? Yep, a Golden. I hung in as long as i could, but have had to hit my emergency inhaler 4 times since getting home around midnight. Looks like I won't be spending much time there anymore. :guilty:

I don't have much planned today; I'm marinating in self-tanner right now and I'll work out at some point. Read some. Clean some. Maybe watch a movie. Have I mentioned what a novelty it is to have weekend time FREE after 6 years of constant school?! :cloud9: I'll enjoy every second until I start back up and finish that damn degree.

TTYL. Happy Saturday! :grouphug:

ETA: Hi TE! The Bahamas trip sounds wonderful! And LOL about teh goats - too cute!

Good Morning all !!

The weather here is horrid, wind, rain, hail, sun then repeat :headache: I'm playing golf tomorrow in the scratch team (The best 5 ladies from my club play the best 5 from another club and we play with no handicaps so off scratch, I've just made the team and am number 5!) so the weather had better improve!!!!

I found a neat condo on the beach that looks great:

Westwind IIWe are usually more comfy spread out in a condo than in a hotel room and the rates were cheaper than Myrtle! (it's the off season I think )

They didn't but thanks to you lot ;)we do now!!!

Wow sounds fantastic, are passports as expensive there as they are here???

!

YES! For the girls I had to pay $60 to the US state dept and $25 to the US Post office EACH..........plus the photos at $8.........$190! And they are only good till they're 21 years old.
And we both had to go to the post office with our ID to prove we were there parents. (Ab will be 16 soon and we wouldn't have had to do that but I didn't want to push the time to get them back.

How much are they there??

Mine needs renewing which is £72 for 10 years and the girls is £45 for 5 years, I found a website that allows you to do your own photos so that won't cost anything so about $250 all in all :faint:

Hi everyone - I found the focker watch many years ago and purchased a lime green lanyard that I wear to the park every year we go. We recently went to WDW and my second trip wearing my lanyard. While everyone stares at it, I have never had anyone approach me or say something about it. So I found a couple positives from this trip... a castmember asked about my landyard and told her of the DIS boards. Do you believe she had never heard of them?? :rotfl2:

I will continue on my trips to wear my landyard and I've also found a new use for it. Pin trading! Hope to one day find some of my team fockers at the parks.
:)

 hi everyone!

Last night i ended up playing fable on xbox until 4 am! i thought it was only 1am at the time. oops.

everyone have a great weekend!

BTW does anyone even use this smilie?:dancer:

Hello Fockers! Here's as update. I think we'll get a couple of wayward Fockers back tomorrow. When is DIS going to give me back my colors?

KAT has a carppy alarm. :lmao: She went to Ikea. There is a mini-TR on pg 110, #1641. It's very nice.

KATT's DD, SB, made the 'All Country Choir' and gets to sing the 'National Anthem' solo.:woohoo: Katt saw 'Knowing' and liked it.

V says Leo did a little better the other day being separated from the bullies. He's going to stay with his dad until the 6th. She is still trying to make up her mind on ADRs. She did let us see the article on Disney layoffs. Salaried employees for right now. Let me get this straight - You live in the land of sunshine and you use self-tanner?:rotfl2: Sorry V, I think that is hilarious. :lmao: I like your "can't see it" comment about my truck.

CE said she'll be busy with mom this weekend. Still no boat.

JO, yesterday, got wet during golf and spent loads of pounds on Jess. She said David was stir frying tea or something. She was on TBS for 2 seconds this morning. El is going to Norfolk for the week. They are having really bad weather today. I hope Ellie has fun and the weather clears up.

T says Waldo gets a 2nd surgery. Hopefully it will fix everything. Andy is on vacation so they are going to the movies and DL. She took a trip to the frozen yogurt do-it-yourself. YUM!

ROSIE's area witnessed a bad motorcycle accident resulting in the death of a young man. They were being reckless. What a terrible waste.:sad2:

TE got to sleep in today. Sounds like they been playing musical goats. They have booked a trip to Nassau for the week of 6/27.

Hello there! You should stop by more often. We can always use another Focker.

#####################################################
I'm glad you guys enjoyed the pictures of the trucks. Doug has promised to sell the blue suburban and my old Silverado. We'll see.

I spent all day yesterday putting up all the curtains and cleaning. I have one blind left in our guest bedroom. I'll get it today. I need Doug to help with that one.

One good thing about this window install is that all my Spring cleaning is complete. Well indoors at least. Now we need to concentrate on the outside.

Hey, I need some Focker opinions. I'm looking for a new suitcase. I have a Delsey 21" that I just love for my carry-on. I need a new bag for the checked clothing. I have an older Samsonite 29", hard case. It's too big for what I need and frankly I'm afraid it has seen better days.
Do you peeps have any preferences on hard verses soft side luggage? I'm looking at a Delsey helium 25" hard side. I found it for $103.99 and free shipping on suitcase.com. I think they have a soft side for about $95. I'd like to stay under $150.

Gimme some feed back, please.

I may not be on here every day for the next week. I'll be working OT and things are picking up. I will try to throw in an update when I can.

Welcome back to Mel and the rest. We've missed you all.

And a early
