Team Focker Watch Chat Part 5.5: The Less-Cursed Version

Okay, I just realized that I totally forgot to post my question of the day. I still have a few more hours left, so here it is:

How far along are you in your holiday shopping? Are you done, haven't started yet or somewhere in between?

I have purchased 1 thing and thats it. I am way ahead of the game from previous years. I usually dont get into the Christmas shopping "fever" untill ust around Thanksgiving when everyone else does and them I get aggravated when the shops are crazy. The problem I have is when I buy gifts early I wind up giving them to the kids when I get them, making getting them stuff hard.

I got Happy an Omnitrix . Its something from the Ben10 cartoon. What it is I have no idea.

ANyone out there get the "elf on a shelf" for their kids????
Its an elf that you put on a shelf and he reports back to Santa each night telling him if the kids where good or bad. When he returns to your house each morning he is in a different spot(ala mom/dad moves him each night)
It comes with a great book explaining the whole thing and MY KIDS LOVE THIS THING.....
ME NOT SO MUCH...Again being excited to give this to them cause its so darn cute I gave it to them 3 weeks ago. I have to move this thing around the house EVERY NIGHT till Christmas...UGGGG DH has found some great spots for him. the kids have a ball "hunting" for him every morning.

Well... I like the sound of the "Elf on the Shelf"... I imagine though that Sara will have to face the fact that there is NO SANTA this year.

Good morning, girls!
Today's Aiden's first day of kindergarten and Baylie's first day of middle school! Camryn's in second grade now. We're about to start morning class, but I'll be able to check in while they do their seatwork.

Jen- I used spray adhesive and it was horrible. My left hand was covered in it. I would use glue stick or something next time. I bought those clipboards for $.55 at Walmart!! I painted them. I used acrylic paint on the back, edge, and around the outside edge of the front. Then I put the paper on and decorated it. After it was done, I used Modge Podge to seal it. Next time I will probably look for colored clipboards so I don't have to paint.

Love Shelf Elf! I am so getting one.

I have not shopped for Christmas at all yet. I would love to, but my storage is pitiful, so I can't until the big day gets closer.

Hey Katt! My parents told me that they helped Santa, so he didn't have to come to our house, they did the work for him. I bought that for a few years!!

Well, it's halftime in my game and the Colts are blowing chunks. But, at least it's the preseason. These games don't matter and Peyton isn't even dressed.

I'll answer this because I have started already! I've decided I give too much and no one has the room to put thinks, so I'm cutting back this year. A month or so ago, Dillard's had 40% off all markdowns, so my sister is done! Of course, it's all carpy UF stuff, but she'll like it! QVC has Christmas things today.

Sorry I've been gone today. I had a bit of a meltdown last night and I haven't been chatty today. I don't want to talk about it, so let's move on.

ok so I was all ready to get out and start errands for back to school and I saw a car pull into my driveway...not unusual(i have a circular driveway people use it to pull a LEGAL u-turn --arent they nice ) ANYWAY it was the tutor I arranged for Happy. I thought being that we were so busy having fun this summer we didnt do much school work --so I wanted to get him a tutor to get him back into the swing of things before school. I set this up so long ago that I forgot I sched her for this week . I would have felt so bad if I left before she got here. Happy is having so much fun with her.

I'm hoping to start as soon as DD4 starts preschool next week. I've got yet one more nephew to buy for this year (DH's brother has four boys now), so lots of boy things. That makes a total of six nephews and zero nieces for us. Luckily we only buy for the kids!
