And a photo of all the girls advent calenders!!!!

This one hangs on the wall and has a pocket for each day with a cute shape to stick on the top of the tree, there is an angel, bell, holly etc!

These my Dad fills for them with mini chocolate bars like Mars and smarties (our chocolate smarties :rotfl2:)

029.jpg

And finally 2 chocolate ones each my sister bought the Lindt one (yesterday they had a mini reindeer today a mini choc bar) and my Mum bought the Maltesers (malt balls) and the cute teddy one which also has chocolate in. I fill the chimney (that was mine as a kid) and tree (each day's box turns round to show picture of a tree) just with penny sweets!

They aren't allowed to eat them all at once though :rotfl2:

Dang! I've missed you all! Been running hither and yon (that sounds Christmasy!)
We went to a Christmas party last nite (a grown up one) and it was fun--I enjoyed getting dressed up.......well, I got a new glittery blouse at Ross for $14! :thumbsup2 . It had been a while since I took so much time to fix my hair and makeup and even paint my nails.

Got the tree up this morning but still gotta decorate it. I have to go to Hannah's 5 yo birthday party at McDonalds in a minute then off to Sears to get our family pic done.
Hopefully will get a break tomorrow to DIS some.

Jo--love the Dickens festival--that's just what I had in mind! :thumbsup2

CE/DM--stay warm........and Lessa too I am sure although I can't figure out how much 15 cm is! Not sure about Janet--I haven't watched the Weather Channel!

It has been nice here. Playing with the babies-
1 week old today! :goodvibes They tackled BA yesterday and jumped on her belly and tried to eat her hair! They want to be picked up all the time too! (not a problem now, but will be when they are over 100#!)

Happy Sunday Fockers!

I woke up really early this morning (like 6am) for no good reason and decided to look outside and i saw that evil white powdery stuff! Yuck-o! This is the time of year I wonder why I don't live down south with Mickey & Friends. When KC left for work today it had started up again and was coming down pretty hard. At about 7:30am (i was still up reading) I looked again and it was pretty snowy out there. Then by 11am (when I re-woke up) it was almost all gone. Now I remember why Brooklyn is ok when it snows!

So here are a couple of pics from straight out one of our 2 windows. LOL. I figure a lot of you will get a kick out of it since most everyone has beautiful homes with yards and I have concrete and asphalt!

Crazy right? I hope no more comes because I still have shopping to do!!!

Anyways I'm off to catch up on TR's and do an update on my own. Have a great day all!

It's great seeing everyones houses as they're quite different to hear, thanks for posting Kat, so it all melted pretty quick huh?

Wholly crap! :faint: Got enough Advent calendars, Jo? :lmao:
I know :rotfl2: None of them are mine though :headache: and when they open that Lindt one each day :faint: :rotfl2:

Hey all. Crazy today. Jim has been working in the basement all day getting it ready for the kids Christmas Party. Jimmy and I put up the tree. The lights and garland are on. We are going to do the decorations after dinner as a family:goodvibes Will post pics later.

Weather here: carppy.....It was 24 degrees this am and it has been freezing rain all day. Oh boy, tomorrows commute is going to be loads of fun:rolleyes:

Hope to be able to chat a little more later

Hope you all are having a great weekend! Well we missed out on most of the snow. We still got some but not as much as originally forecasted.

Jo, I loved the pictures from the Dickens festival, they were lovely.

One of the supervisors at work gave me an unexpected Christmas present this morning, it was a Winnie the Pooh tree skirt. He knew that I had started a Disney tree this year and he had it at home and thought of me so brought it in. :santa:

Sounds like you had a good time :rotfl2: So did anyone pinch your gift off of you or did you open the coffee cup???? How did the choccies go down?

Nope, I opened the mug and it stayed with me. The chocolates got stolen a couple of times, though, as did the knife/flashlight. :thumbsup2

Here's a picture, I look a ton larger than I hoped I did - diet definitely starts now - but you can tell we're having fun. :)

Have great day everyone.

Thanks! Congrats on the new car. ;)

Hope to be able to chat a little more later

Hey, Janet, sounds busy... :goodvibes

He knew that I had started a Disney tree this year and he had it at home and thought of me so brought it in. :santa:

Nice! :thumbsup2 I bet you're glad the snow was less accumulation!

So, right after I posted this morning, the phone rang and the small engine shop had worked extra and opened today because of the coming weather. The generator was done! :woohoo: So, we have it back and it works. Then, we did find a really good snowblower on sale at Sears, so we have one of those, too. :woohoo: Now, of course, we won't get any snow. :rotfl:

I'm finishing up getting the boys in bed - if I act like we'll be delayed or cancelled because of the weather, we'll definitely have school, so normal school night routine for us - but I'll probably be back later! We do need to get stuff out of the garage and back into the basement - unsorted, still, sadly, so D can park in the garage. ;) That shouldn't take too long if I'm just throwing it back in, though. :rolleyes1

Here are some pics of the decorations that I finally got up today:

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!!

I can't catch up now but HAD to share... I'm sitting here doing school work, wathcing the BCS bowl announcements, start flipping out that the Gators made a bowl and the phone rings....

It's my Michigan-loving friend Char asking if I want TO GO TO THE CAPITAL ONE BOWL - SHE'S GETTING TICKETS!!!!!:woohoo:  :yay: :dance3:

GO GATORS!!

Phew... I'll be back tomorrow to catch up - thanks for letting me get that out ;)

Oh - TE, congrats on the Hokies going to the Orange Bowl! :thumbsup2

Lovely tree, Janet! :goodvibes I love the Monorail ornament! :thumbsup2

CE - you look just fine! You sure do look like you're having fun! ;)

My real life BFF is going on a Disney Cruise and then to WDW leaving 12/15. She's then going to her brother's and sister's houses in NC (army families) but was totally counting on going to Orlando again for a bowl - either Cap 1 or the Champ Sports, depending. But, since Ohio State made the championship, our ILLINI get to go to the Rose Bowl!!! It doesn't fit in well for my secret plan to meet her in Orlando, but WOOHOOTY!
:yay:

Thanks. ;) We had a blast.

Janet, the decorations are loverly! :thumbsup2

And you are at SSR:confused3
For now.... but I'll be atrying to switch when my 7 month reservation window opens. I'm aiming for either BCV or AKV, depending on availibility and my points situation.

So here are a couple of pics from straight out one of our 2 windows. LOL. I figure a lot of you will get a kick out of it since most everyone has beautiful homes with yards and I have concrete and asphalt!
Not me - I have the worst of both worlds: concrete everywhere AND suburban sprawl. :crazy2: I'd gladly trade for a NY apartment! :thumbsup2

Psst V.... what's the Capital One Bowl? :confused3
Um, the simple answer is that the 2 best college football teams get to play each other for the national championship. The next 8 best teams play each other in 4 other big bowl games. Cap One isn't either of those - it's the next step down. But it's a BOWL and I'm GOING, so I'm happy! :rotfl:

But, since Ohio State made the championship, our ILLINI get to go to the Rose Bowl!!! It doesn't fit in well for my secret plan to meet her in Orlando, but WOOHOOTY!
:yay:
Wait... you live in New England but root for Illinois? Is that allowed?! Congrats!

Congrats. Sounds like it will be fun..if you like football;)
LOL - yep, growing up in Buffalo, I didn't have a choice but to lvoe football! Add to that my dad played - was even in Bills training camp but didn't make the team - and I'm tied to the game. It's my dad's fault I'm a Gator fan: when he moved ot FL he adopted the Miami Hurricanes as his team. then he got mad at one of the players - :confused3 - and switched to the Gators.

Sounds lovely any photos :goodvibes

Who's Hannah?
Hannah is my niece--she has been to Disney 5 times and is just now 5 years old! (She's in many of my pictures--she's the one that her mom dresses up like a princess.....then SHE picks out the pirate patch and sword! :lmao: )
I got her a life size Cinderella coloring kit for her birthday--but someone else got her a Nerf bow and arrow--and she spent the party shooting people!:lmao:
(I have such girlie-girls, so I am struggling with her, but she's a cutie! :thumbsup2 )

Nope, I opened the mug and it stayed with me. The chocolates got stolen a couple of times, though, as did the knife/flashlight. :thumbsup2
Chocolate is always good to bring! I brought a Gift certificate to Barnes and Noble one time and that was coveted too!
Good news about your generator--we'll keep our fingers crossed you won't need it!
Are they in school today?
Here are some pics of the decorations that I finally got up today:
:thumbsup2 You've given me some good ideas for the steps too!
I have to go buy garland today as I realized we threw it out with the tree last year! I have no clue how much to buy for this giant tree.....:scared1:

Oh - TE, congrats on the Hokies going to the Orange Bowl! :thumbsup2
Thanks!!!
Wish we could go (would have liked to be in Jacksonville too--it was a great game against Boston College! :cheer2: )
Not sure what we are ranked now--we were 6th prior to winning the ACC, and West VA lost........so probably higher, but not high enough to play for the championship cause we lost to LSU earlier in the season.
(wow--that sounds pretty knowledgeable--I could paste that onto some men's board! :rotfl: )

Have fun at the Capitol bowl!! :cheer2:

Cool! :cool1:

Psst V.... what's the Capital One Bowl? :confused3

Wow! I just noticed my ticker and it says 1 month now (and then some other stuff.........but I see 1 month! :cheer2: )

:thumbsup2 You've given me some good ideas for the steps too!
I have to go buy garland today as I realized we threw it out with the tree last year! I have no clue how much to buy for this giant tree.....:scared1:

Thanks:goodvibes I am thinking of adding some red bows to the garland on the steps just to give it some color, KWIM....

TO give you a little help with how much garland to buy.... Our tree is 6 1/2 feet and I used a little less that 60 feet of garland. I got a 60 foot length at Walmart.

So much to catch up on ...

Jo ~ I can't believe the girls get that many advent calendars. I've had your kind of smarties, I think. If they are like Canada's, then yuck! I actually bit into one last week and spit it out. But I'll definitely take the Lindt advents off your girls' hands if you think they have too many ... ;)

Kat ~ Thanks for posting that pic of your outside in Brooklyn. I am always curious about what different areas of NYC look like.

Janet ~ Nice decorations and I see that you set up the manger the correct way! I always did it the wrong way and put baby Jesus in the whole time. But this year I'm doing it the right way. In fact, I don't even have Mary & Joseph in there yet; just the shepherd boy and some animals.

CE ~ You look awfully cozy with your friend there ...

My real life BFF ...
So, would that make your fake life BFF? :confused3
