This garage sale is KILLING me! It's not until the 22nd but I am exhausted already! I placed the ad in the paper yesterday so I don't wuss out! :sad2: The playroom is PACKED! I had the kids go through our DVDs, Playstation games and Xbox games. We should make enough for our Disney airfare just on those! Kids get bored so easily. What's really sad to me is that we BOUGHT all that stuff.....

What were we thinking?

MEL:banana:

good morning. at least you'll make some mad money with all that stuff. we tell ourselves all the time, no more toys... no more crap. but it never lasts!!!! love to shop, love to buy, love a sale!!!!

MEL

AMEN SISTA!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou :rotfl2:

KWYM... I wanted my inlaws to visit.. but it put so much pressure on me I did not want them to come. I OVER CLEANED.. and I know my MIL would check any and everything. To this day... if anyone is coming over... I clean the house like it is going on the market for sale and I am having an open house.
You do what???? Oh please come visit me and clean my house for me :flower3: :rotfl2:

Sure! Does she want a Thomas, too? :lmao: Show her teeth of finger sucks, that's what I did. I showed my kids the pictures on doctorspiller(dot)com and they freaked out! I never have to ask them to brush their teeth anymore! :lmao:
We've tried all sorts of bribes, showing photos etc but never a Thomas bribe  :rotfl2:

Who are you supposed to see? :confused3 I only see MM with a mustache - darn contacts!
As others have said Albert Einstein up close, Marilyn Monroe at a distance, it has to be quite a distance though!

Jo- I have no idea who I am supposed to be seeing up close or from a distance.
See above :thumbsup2

So that makes me think, what is the new startegy when DHS opens, at rope drop I always went straight to ToT, should I head to Toy Story Mania first?
I'm thinking grab ToT FP's then straight to TSM :thumbsup2

Katt - I am disappointed, I so look forward toyour inappropriate references when Jo is talking about golf:rotfl2:
Don't encourage her :rotfl2:

So I should tell KC its time to pop out a kid so we can all get along huh??? He will LOVE that idea.
:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I'm sorry Jo!
It made you laugh though didn't it :rotfl2:

The BED has arrived!!!!!! And it took little time for the delivery guys to install, but teh rest of the day for me to reorganize Leo's room. Hence the lack of school work, DISing and TR writing.
OMG V Leo looks so cute peeping out behind the stairs, the bed looks great!

Uh, Jo......irons are for smoothing out wrinkles in your clothes. Try using a golf club next time. ;) LY/MI
That's where I've been going wrong ;) :rotfl2:

By the way, how do you say iron?
irn
i-ron
ire n
yron
Errrrr I say eye un

Ok, Jo, were you playing the blind mixed double thing again? Did you play with someone else's husband? Did you use his ball? How much did you sneeze?
No I was playing by myself yesterday with my own balls :rotfl2:

And I got to pick out my new glasses and ordered them. It will be the first time my vision has stablized enough for them to get me to 20/20 with glasses. Without I am 20/50 in left eye and 20/80 in the right!!! :scared1: I CANNOT wait to SEE again!!!
That's great Mel and so pleased DS eyes are fine!

I'll be heading up "the apples & pears soon"".It's been a hard day again at work !!
Wonder who'll guess what apples and pears are????

Wow definitely no moaning from you, well not until you get back anyway :rotfl2:

Not much going on here today, it chucked it down this morning (the garden desperatly needed it though) but we've been for a walk when it stopped. I dug some of the patio up yesterday so I should move some of the pile of rubble I've made!:rotfl:

At least the kids are helping and it'll be great if you could pay your airfare :thumbsup2

Sorry if I'm forgetting anyone. You guys were crazy chatty! I spent 3 hours at the eye dr. today getting DS's eyes checked. THANK GOD, no Glaucoma or any medical eye issues for him. I am so paranoid, since I've had my problems....:sad2: And I got to pick out my new glasses and ordered them. I have been waiting for that news Mel  I thought you had already gottten the glasses and I just missed the news somehow. Save the Old ones and put them on when we meet up.

As others have said Albert Einstein up close, Marilyn Monroe at a distance, it has to be quite a distance though!
I could also do it by closing one eye and squinting with the other.

Cute bed and I love the bedspread! :thumbsup2

He's been doing a lot of dinosaur "research" (his word!) at school lately - going through a dinosaur encyclopedia and writing down the names, drawing pictures in a notebook. So, as a surprise, I bought some reference books for his new desk: Pirate dictionary, NG animal encyclopedia, kids' level human anatomy and a book about horses. That last one is in place of the only request he had for his birthday...... a horse. :headache: Maybe riding lessons next year.
Yea for Leo and his research. Hopefully he will continue with his love of learning! I grew up in a horse community so I took riding lessons with my father for a while. We had a good time together and wish we would have taken longer.

sorry so many problems with your inlaws:hug: mine aren't that bad. i did complain about my mil, but i feel really guilty now . she told us she's taking the entire family (12 ppl) on a 7 night land/sea disney cruise in aug 2009!!

I wish I had anyone in my family that would take me on a cruise!

Have Goodwill come right after the sale so you don't have to bring it back in the house. :thumbsup2

We SKIP the yard sale altogether and just donate. I "itemize" each item and claim it on my taxes. All legal and it adds up.
But If I was you Mel ...after the sale... I'd make up the list and "double-dip"
on your stuff. Get cash and get another deduction for taxes.

Ok, Jo, were you playing the blind mixed double thing again? Did you play with someone else's husband? Did you use his ball? How much did you sneeze?

:rotfl2:

Oh, and they decided to drive up (from FL) on the second week of June. Uh, hello......I'm going to be IN FLORIDA then!!!! Stupid!!!!![/B]

:confused3 :rotfl:

Janet: HI!

Glad the eye doctor appointments went well, AND you reminded me I have to call our eye doctor. I lost my glasses:sad2: so I need to get new and he want to Jimmy for a follow up since he keeps saying that his eyes hurt when he wears his glasses.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another work day here. TOns of meetings scheduled to day (coming up on the end of the fiscal year:sad2: ). Hope you all have a good day. Will check in later:thumbsup2

Oh no, what did I miss?
Ugh. Someone tried applying for a credit card using my name, work phone number and home address. Didn't use my SSN or DOB, so I'm hopeful that my ID is safe, but it's scary.

I love it! :thumbsup2 Showed it to Evan and what do you think he picked out? The folded up Fire Truck "tent"! :lmao: He has the same one, except his is in shreds! :sad2:
:rotfl: That thing is a BIG hit! My friend's DS love it, as do my cats.

kids just don't understand why they can't keep a horse in the yard!!!
Even worse, I live in a condo so tehre is no yard! :rotfl: But Leo likes watching Saddle Club on PBS and thinks we can just buy a horse and keep it at a stable. I told him to start saving his allowance. ;)

I dug some of the patio up yesterday so I should move some of the pile of rubble I've made!:rotfl:
Jo, you have more home improvement projects than anyone I know! :faint: When they're all done, can you come help with a couple of mine?! ;)

We SKIP the yard sale altogether and just donate. I "itemize" each item and claim it on my taxes. All legal and it adds up.
::yes:: I feel good about donating stuff and figured out that itemizing nets me a lot more than selling stuff through consignment shops.

Morning Fockers!
Jo I'm wondering who will guess too!!!
I've got nothing. :confused3 Does it have anything to do with sneezing or trampolining?! :rotfl2:

Ack! I didn't know braces would be this painful for Baylie! She's in horrible pain. :guilty: I bet she doesn't think they are cute now! :sad1:
I must have spent $50 on things to try and make her feel better: a Rx mouthwash, Sensodyne toothpaste, chapstick, special floss for going around brackets, a rinse for if she gets sores in her mouth (the brackets are rubbing already), Aleve... I HATE for her to be in pain. There's really nothing I can do to help her. I've told her to drink hot tea, and put a cold pack on her cheeks. Any other ideas for me, former braces wearers? :confused3
We're going to Grandma's resaurant to show her B's braces and get some free food. Be back later... :goodvibes

I'm doing a garage sale the first SaturMay 31. Any tips? Should I advertise in my local paper? What should I do? Just put signs up in front of the neighborhood. I can also post something on freecycle.

Talking of relations, MIL phoned about a week ago to say they would come down and visit, they only live 2 hours away and are both retired, the last time they came was on their way home from France 2 years ago :sad2: Well she phoned last night to say they don't feel well enough to come, yeah right, but when are we going there :headache: why does everyone expect us to go there :headache: Thing is I get grumpy that they don't come but I don't actually want them to come IYKWIM :rotfl2:
I understand. My dh and I don't like it so much when my fil visits, but if he doesn't offer to come my dh gets hurt feelings. He won't admit it though. Last Spring, my fil decided to quit his job (he is single - thrice divorced) and take 3 months off. He came to visit us the weekend before he was going back to work and spent 1 night. What really irritated dh is that his first visit was to see his EX Step daughter and then he spent 2 months in Illinois visiting his parents.
And DH really gets upset because his dad tells everyone how our kids love him so much and are always so excited to see him, but he only sees our kids about twice a year and never spends more than 1 night. DH says they don't even know who he is.

Did you not get any "bees wax" to put "On The Brackets" ?? Orthodontist should have given you some. (It will be in the Toothpaste and mouth sore aid section of the stores). If you get some and put it on the braces in the places they are rubbing... then it will stop that problem .
Also... an investment in a "waterpick" will help greatly because the 'floss" just can not get everywhere. It's also good for kids in general that HATE TO FLOSS.

The rest will have to "settle down". She will need to give it 4-5 days( so I have been told from other kids with them nowadays) especially the first time or two.

a horse in a condo, that's even funnier!!:rotfl2: but the great thing is at 6 yrs old he wont' understand how long it will take to save his allowance to buy a horse!!!

good morning to all , good night for me. i just got home from work, so time for bed. okay first, funny story from work. guy came in with ......let's call it a "there's something about mary" injury (you have to see the movie to understand , but i don't know how to properly/safely describe it) he claims he was dancing (grinding ) and it got stuck in the zipper!!! why he wasn't wearing any undies is beyond me! wow. i love where i work !!! just had to share. :rotfl2: good night!!

.

Don't know how your area is... But if you put up signs you should still have lots of traffic. Especially if there is 1 or two on the "main road" leading into the area if you are in a subdivision.

I'm in a subdivision that is off of a sorta main road.

Have signs leading to your house at the Entrance/s .. and maybe one at an intersection on a main road list some of your Bigger items, and kids toys are ALWAYS a good draw. If you have em

As much as it can be - I've got alerts all over the place, so nothing will be processed. We'll probably never know for sure what/who was involved. :sad2:
