It's tough keeping them occupied isn't it. :sad2:

Something I forgot to tell you all yesterday. A friend of mine from work, 42 years old (Her birthday is a month before mine) was taken out of work in an ambulance with a heart attack:eek::sad2: Not serious, but serious enough. The goof is trying to get her doctore to release her to come back to work Monday. I told her if I saw her anywhere near work I'd kick her butt!:sad2:

Not much going on here. It's raining so there won't be any after dinner walks or bike riding:sad2: Jimmy is watching Spongebob and Jim is reading a book...exciting, eh! I think I will go do some more trip planning.

TTFN
It's the opposite, Janet. I'm wiped out because of all the stuff they are doing. It's constant playdates, sleepovers, dance camps... :rolleyes: There's no time to chill.

:scared1: about your friend.

Hi All!!!!

You know that is one thing I can't seem to make a decision about. Last year we did it becasue we shared with my girlfriend who tagged along with us. Not sure if it is worth the money for us, as don't seem to ever be where the photographers are.

Good Morning. I'm first AGAIN! We need to get back on normal schedules everyone. It is not right that I am first. That means I am up and at work WAY too early.

Another busy day at work planned, but it shouldn't be crazy, just busy.:thumbsup2 I have one final grant application to put into the mail and then the afternoon will spent learning some more of the new job.

Last night I did som trip stuff and just generally hung out with my boys:hug: and finished up the last of the luandry, for this week. There will be more come the weekend. Jim is planning yard work and washing/waxing his car today. Of course becasue this is what heplanned it's going to rain. Jimmy is at a friends house for the day.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks for the input. If I pay for the thing, I will hunt down the photographers. I hope things at work went well.

Just a quick drive by. We had a freak thing happen on the boat yesterday afternoon when we were still just the 4 of us, and two of the windshield panes shattered. The boat is basically unusable for now - glass everywhere, though our marina is cleaning that part up for us. With people still coming in and all our stuff on the island, we were in a pickle. By the time we drove slowly back to our marina, it was too late to rent a boat for last night (our marina doesn't do rentals...)

D is beside himself angry and upset. The rentals are pricey, and no one had something for all the rest of the days, so we're renting at one place today and another for the rest of the weekend.

But, it's salvagable, and it will be OK. The bigger issue is that our boat is old enough that it could take 4-8 weeks to get the windshield, which pretty much kills the rest of the summer. But, I'm trying to be optimistic...

I've got to get moving - hope you're all having a good week!

:scared1: I'm glad everyone is OK. What a bummer though.

What a glorious morning! Well, okay, maybe not "glorious." Leo started out in a mood of epic proportions. He did NOT want to got o camp. I did what any good mom would - said "Too bad, go get dressed" and made him a bagel.

But I'm a happy camper... ONE WEEK left!!! I'm checked in online for both resorts, which makes it feel so real. Added another meal via online ADRs yesterday. And am still nowhere near packed. That'll happen this weekend, though.

:woohoo: Maybe Leo is like me. I am a terrible pain in the you-know-what a week before I go on vacation. I just want to be there already!!!!

Mitch is in Sarasota today and if he didn't have meetings, I would have gone with him. Pesky work. But it's a nice day here so I'm planning on pooling. :goodvibes

Sounds wonderful!! With a little drinky-poo!! :thumbsup2

Just back from the dentist :teeth: My teeth sparkle now. The boys are going to take the math section of their tests. Then it's just algebra placement for the big kid and we're finished. Five weeks before the start of school. Where is the summer going???

I wondered why it was brighter in your neck of the woods!

Sure has been quiet here
Things have been crazy busy in my world. DH is still undecided about his job, VBS is this week, we have been interviewing for our new manager which has taken up a lot of time but I am thankful that my boss is nice enough to let us have some input, really, really behind at work, my house is a mess, still need to finish school shopping and setting up our study area. Yikes! I'm gonna be busy for a while.

I've been thinking of asking my mom to go to Disney with me - just me and her - for her birthday in September. The problem is she drives me crazy and I can only handle about 4 hours with her at a time. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother but she just drives me nuts. I guess I really had my heart set on an adult trip and since DH said to cancel our US trip I have been trying to figure out how to still go (I'm spoiled what can I say).

She really got her feelings hurt that we didn't invite her in June. In fact she invited herself but I wanted a relaxing vaca and knew that I wouldn't get that with her. So I have felt a little guilty ever since and figured that by going with her in September would kinda fix several things.

I didn't want to say anything to her because I just wasn't sure yet. But yesterday I was talking to her on the phone and she said she got an email reminder that free dining was still going on and she wondered how much it would be for just two adults to go. So I blurted out "$845 for a value and $1146 for a mod. That is for two adults, 4 nights, 5 day base tickets and free dining." To which she replied "How do you know this stuff?"

So I told DH that I was thinking of taking my mom for her birthday to which he replied "You mean we are not going to Universal anymore?"

:mad:

I reminded him that I asked him everyday for two weeks if he wanted me to cancel and every day he said yes, please cancel. So after two weeks I cancelled our ressie.

So now I have no idea what he wants and I guess it mostly depends on what he decides in regards to this job.

On another note, I do want to tell you a funny story about my baby Tau. The other day we were in the car and he was doing his usual "Mommy, see the truck? The truck is blue mommy, see the blue truck, Mommy, see the light? The light is red mommy..."

Yes, I see the red light baby. Red means stop and green means go.

The Tau said "And yellow means uh.... drive faster mommy!"

And another one...

You know your pantry is bare when you come home from the grocery store and your 3 year old sees you carrying milk and says "Mommy, you bought me milk? Oh, I love you mommy! Thank you for buying me milk! I love you so much!"

I don't think I am getting MOTY any time soon

Tau is so cute! :scared: on going with your mom. Can you schedule her a couple of spa treatments? "Here we are mom, Happy Birthday, enjoy yourself. I'll be back in about 5 hours!" :rotfl2: Doug knows better than to be wishy-washy with me. I will leave him at home. I'd go all by myself - no sweat!

One week until Universal! AND I just e-mailed my TA my OCtober ADR's!

Awesome!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a lot of carp to do today and I am here on the internet...mainly on the Vera Bradley site. Why V?! LOL. I blame you for the obsession ya know! BUT there's a really good sale! I haven't bought myself anything real from my new paychecks so I think a new Vera (that would make #$) is in order! If I can only make a decision!
So KC and I had the blowout fight of champions about WDW last night. So today we will pin down a hotel and he says he will get over us spending the money. Here's hoping. We SO need the vacation this weekend!!!
Off to pick out a VB and then get productive!
OK, are you sitting down? I have been shopping for a new bag to take to the park. I didn't see anything by VB that would work for me. Pardon me, but they aren't my thing anyway. :eek: I have to have rugged, lots of pockets, cross body strap. I want something just a tad smaller than the Baggallini. I've even looked at some cool waist pacs. I know, I'll never be hip. I'll have to post some pics of the ones I like best.
Sorry about the rumble.
:hug:
I'm pretty laid back with movies, Deb - but I found this one slightly disturbing. Mads was ok with it, except the one scene that I found slightly raunchy, she said it was "disgusting".
The movie as a whole scared the crap out of Evan. He even told me I wasn't as mean a mom as Coraline's. Now I've got some ammo, though. If they misbehave and tell me I mean, I can say "Not as mean as Coraline's" ;)
:lmao:
I'm here. I'm here... :cutie:
This summer has been kicking my butt. I'm overwhelmed and exhasuted with all the things on my plate. I can't wait for the fall. Teaching school is so much easier than the constant playdates and sleepovers.
B and I did have a mother/daughter trip this week. It was very nice to spend time alone and just connect before she goes to public school this fall. I plan on taking each of the kids before 6th grade (when they'll go to PS)on an alone trip.
So, sorry. I'm so overwhelmed, K's starting to notice! I'm trying to keep up, I just can't post much. Love you all, and I'll try to do better.
I'm glad you are doing well. You need to have fun with your family while you can. We will be here!!!
That's scary! I hope she is OK. I'm going to take it she has had no problems up to this point.
I'm here. I'm here... :cutie:
See? I told ya she'd be back. Hi, Dawn! :wave2:
Quiet afternoon at my house. I made ice cream with #3 and read for a bit. DH is staying late at work so the boys and I will eat and take a walk to Target after dinner. Seems I need some ibuprofen for a seriously achy hip.
Ouch! Hope your achin' hip feels better!
Really? I can't believe it's the end of July already:confused3 When do your kids go back?
Sept. 2. :faint:
Got it. Now you've got something to look forward to for next year. Me, not going back until 2011. DL, looks like we are going to wait until Jimmy is like 10 or something...at least that's Jim's plan;)
2011 is my "Year Without Disney World". We plan on hitting the California coast that summer. We'll see. :rolleyes1
Oh my! That's scary! Hope she's doing ok.
Does anyone have a suggestion of a cheaper place to buy park tix? :confused3
My brother used undercovertourist. He got a great deal, saved $80 off four 8-day park hoppers.
KC is getting more on board now since we looked at the booths for F&W...I'll get him all the way excited yet!
Fun! I'm reeeeeeeeally trying to squeeze a long weekend trip out of Andy for F&WF. Airtran has $99 e/w tickets for Oct. - we'll have our AP's and can stay on points. It's practically FREE! :teeth:
T, thanks for the review. It sounds too dark for us so we may just pass it this time or wait for video.
Wow, that's a long school year or do they get a winter break of something like that?
they get a week in october and april, two weeks in december, and several long weekends.
:hug: Sorry bout your coworker.
Tau is so cute! :scared: on going with your mom. Can you schedule her a couple of spa treatments? "Here we are mom, Happy Birthday, enjoy yourself. I'll be back in about 5 hours!" :rotfl2: Doug knows better than to be wishy-washy with me. I will leave him at home. I'd go all by myself - no sweat!
thanks (about Tau being cute) :hug:
I still don't know about mom. She went with us in October 08 and June 07 and it was very difficult because I felt as if I was taking care of 5 kids (plus my niece =6) and also mom. I had to help her with her luggage, help her fix her plate, carry her food, help her with her shopping, even getting dressed (putting on shoes, fastening bras, and jewelry). She is also one of those who offers no input during the planning but then gets upset because she doesn't want to do that.
I guess i need to make a decision because FD expires sunday :confused:
Great Zazzling!
Does anyone have a suggestion of a cheaper place to buy park tix? :confused3
Undercovertourist :thumbsup2 If you subscribe to the mousesavers newsletter there is a special link that gets you a few more dollars off. If you don't subscribe let me know and i can forward you the link. If you are price comparing remember that their prices already include taxes and shipping.
Here's a funny for you...a "small world" story, if you will....;)
Love stories like that :goodvibes
I got a friend request on FB from chi's and Omicron's 1st grade teacher. I thought it was a little weird considering our history. i accepted the friend request just cause I wanted to see if she wanted anything??
watching ace of cakes on food network. I am slowly falling in love with this channel. this could be bad :sad2:
Good Morning Fockers. Looks like I am at work way to early....again.
I can't wait for 4:00 so that should tell you what kind of day it's going to be. On the other hand, I get to see Kat tomorrow:yay:
Tonight will probably start the laundry, so I am not swamped on Sunday. It's raining, and it's supposed to be like that all weekend.:sad2:
Hope everyone has a great day. Check back in later:goodvibes
Good Morning Fockers.
Morning Janet!
I have tons to do today yet I am checking the disboards :confused3
I think I seriously have a problem :rotfl:
I am soooo happy its Friday!!! Tonight we have VBS and Chi and Omicron are coming back from the beach with their dad :yay: :yay: Tomorrow we have danceline clinic, board breaking class for karate, plus regular karate class, VBS tomorrow night. In between all that I need to catch up on laundry
Happy Friday everyone :grouphug:
Morning :goodvibes
It's laundry and house cleaning day around here. #1 son takes his algebra placement and we are finished with the testing :yay: Oh, and I have to make a grocery store run. It seems FIVE gallons of milk no longer get us through a week :eek: I swear I'm going to need a part time job just to feed these boys soon.
Janet, any word about your co-worker/friend? I hope she's okay. :hug:
Good morning!
Had to drug myself to sleep around 2am last night and then was up this morning at 5:30. Ugh
I have a lot of running around to do since I will be visiting with family in Ohio next week.
First I have to renew my driver's license and my health card which both expire next week on my birthday. Then I have to go to the bank and get some American money so that I can buy lots and lots of yummy Smurf ice cream over the week. ;) Then off to the grocery store to buy some food to take to work this weekend as I will pretty much be there the whole weekend except for when I am asleep. 36 hours over the next three days due to a co-worker having a burst appendix and getting rushed to the hospital. Then I also have to go to the pet store to but the cats more dry food as they are about to run out and also some new litter. Then I have to go to the mall and get some new socks and a new pair of jeans. :sad2: Then after all that I work this evening until midnight. Did I exhaust you with all that? ;)
Oh yeah and I have to at some point this weekend pack. :headache: No idea when I am going to manage to squeeze that choir in.
Also just found out last night that my friend/co-worker may possibly have the swine flu, he is waiting on tests results to confirm. :scared:
I'm pretty laid back with movies, Deb - but I found this one slightly disturbing.
I've never even heard of it. What's it about?
I made ice cream with #3 and read for a bit.
You can make ice cream?! :cool1: I made a trip to Publix for ice cream. :rotfl:
What a drag it is getting old.
(Name that song...Anyone? Too easy???)
Puh-lease - "Mother's Little Helper", second only to "Paint it Black" as the best Stones tune ever. :thumbsup2
WIll have to talk to Jim about the credit card thing!:confused3
It's not required; you can still handle that in person.
Maybe Leo is like me. I am a terrible pain in the you-know-what a week before I go on vacation. I just want to be there already!!!!
Me too! ::yes::
NO WAY?!?! :yay: I'm emailing you - I know two fabulous weekends to recommend! ;)
It seems FIVE gallons of milk no longer get us through a week :eek: I swear I'm going to need a part time job just to feed these boys soon.
Y'know, I'll admit I may have scoffed a bit when I heard from you, and other moms of boys, about just how much milk they can go through. Until now. Leo is suddenly going through a half-gallon plus all by himself in a week! :scared1: I'm now a believer. :hug:
Did I exhaust you with all that? ;)
OMG, yes! :faint: Hang in there!
Also just found out last night that my friend/co-worker may possibly have the swine flu, he is waiting on tests results to confirm. :scared:
Ah, swine flu. :headache: Read on...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning all! :wave: We are now all swine flu, all the time down here. My county's suddenly being inundated with cases... all of which are occurring in summer camps. A couple confirmed cases were announced yesterday in camps that share facilities and counselors with Leo's camp next week. I wouldn't have worried much if we weren't leaving for WDW in 5 flipping days! But we are, so I pulled him out of camp. That's so reactionary and not at all like me, but I need this vacation gosh darn it!

Meanwhile, at work, we've changed our regular business broadcasting to all swine flu-related matters. :rolleyes: I've begun using "Swine flu!" as my standard greeting in place of "Hi!" or "Good morning!" :rotfl2:

Happy Friday everyone :grouphug:

You too Deb:goodvibes

Oh, and I have to make a grocery store run. It seems FIVE gallons of milk no longer get us through a week :eek: I swear I'm going to need a part time job just to feed these boys soon.

::yes:: Jimmy goes through most of a gallon by homself a week!

Janet, any word about your co-worker/friend? I hope she's okay. :hug:

It seems it was a very mild heart attack. She was released the next day:confused:

Did I exhaust you with all that?

YES :faint:

It's not required; you can still handle that in person.

Thanks!

Only a half gallon:confused3

I would have done the same thing V and I'm the type (like my mother) you don't stay home unles you are bleeding, have a fever, or are hospitalized. Shoot my mother sent me to school with a broken arm once. To be fair we didn't know it was broken until my arm turned purple:rolleyes1

You can make ice cream?! :cool1: I made a trip to Publix for ice cream. :rotfl:
Yup...it's easy to make. Yesterday was a peanut butter and chocolate swirl. But in all honesty, Publix is way better.

Puh-lease - "Mother's Little Helper", second only to "Paint it Black" as the best Stones tune ever. :thumbsup2
I know...way too easy.

I watched Liam stand at the counter yesterday and drink a half gallon in what looked a lot like one gulp.:scared1:

Sorry about the swine flu, V. I think I would have kept mine home, too with a trip on the horizon.

Yup...it's easy to make. Yesterday was a peanut butter and chocolate swirl. But in all honesty, Publix is way better.

Jim makes ice cream with Jimmy at least once a summer. They haven't done it yet.

Crocs Capri's question. They have some on sale at Shoebuy (Can't hurt to buy one extra pair of shoes for the trip...right:confused3). They have Capri's and Capri's canvas. Does anyone prefer one over the other?

Where is Slate...I need the official croc pusher here!

Is that with the $25 off voucher? The link is on page 126ish :confused3 and I got it sent to 4 e-mails, then booked two one way tix twice. So, we got $50 off each person. :banana: Not that I'm enabling... :rolleyes1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks on the Undercover Tourist suggestions. I looked and they don't have 2 day tix, so I'll keep it in mind for March. :thumbsup2
It's cleaning, laundry, grocery day here, so I'd better run. :laundy:
Jim makes ice cream with Jimmy at least once a summer. They haven't done it yet.
I have a Coastal Living recipe from 1997 or so and it's so good! :thumbsup2 Mostly we make vanilla but I also like coffee. For some reason Mitch always wants to put peaches in it. :confused:
They have Capri's and Capri's canvas. Does anyone prefer one over the other?
Love the canvas! :thumbsup2 I have 4 pairs.
Dawn,
Did you think about Annual Passes for you and K and then just purchasing tickets for your mom and the kids when the March Trip comes around.
Just a thought
