Fun Pictures Mary! Looks/SOunds like the trip was a bunch of fun!

CE- You are doing the right thing to "put your foot down" to your aunt. Is she always pushy?

Kat- The birthday sounds wonderful! :cloud9:

Rosie- Do you like to camp?:confused3

---------------------

Not a lot new here. Finished the excerpt for the book on-line. I wanted it to go a titch further before it stopped. :headache: I rented Twilight the movie from RedBox and look forward to watching that tonight. Then I have to wait until Friday to get the next 2 books, from a friend. :teeth:

My kids are super wound up. :rolleyes: Why at night? :confused3

BTW- You're lucky you didn't catch a fat lady spreading chocolately spread on those traps. I'm glad I don't live close enough to drive over! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:[/COLOR]
Holy Cow! I almost choked on my water! :lmao:

Gee, sounds like fun. Let us know about Dr. Seigle...
You know I will. :laughing:

:hug: I'm glad you say y'all too. Mel makes fun of me. But then she says things like "grind-uh". :lmao:
Hey! Y'all don't have grinders there? LOL

Not a good week. DH was subpeonad to testify in court.
Sorry Debra. That stinks!

Thank you all sooooooo much for the birthday wishes!!!

Your day sounded GREAT! Loved the pics and omgosh that food looks delish!

I have logged on no less than 5 times today, read, hit quote, hit reply started typing and then get called into meetings:mad: Don't these people know I have to check in with the Fockers:sad2:
Poor Janet! I am sorry work is such a pita lately. We love you! :lovestruc

I bet she also doesn't think get and fit rhyme. She probably also doesn't eat grits or know how to make sweet tea. :rotfl2:
Nope. Grits=Blech
I drink my tea with milk, not with sugar. Blech.
You probably PAHK your CAH in your YAHD. I PAHK my CAH in the GAHRAHG.
LOL
And, it turns out my dates were wrong - Dad had his second chemo treatment yesterday. They decided to do all three medicines in one day, rather than doing it over two days as they did the first time. He didn't sleep again last night, but hasn't gotten ill or anything, so I guess that's good. He has to go in every day this week for white blood cell booster shots and some prednisone, but he didn't have to be there for hours again today, which is better. I hope it doesn't make him sicker to do them all at once. :confused3
I hope that he continues to be well. Poor guy. Why did the change the way they did it this time?

... And yes, she's 69 years old and acting this way. :sad2:

Gah.
Totally agree with HEDY (think) that he can't be exposed to anyone who's sick. It's completely true, also. I hope the aunt backs off!

What is a girl to do?:rolleyes:
I love HULU!!!! I guess you could do it like CE does. Work online a bit, watch some HULU, work online, watch some HULU...etc. LOL

Girl, your kids are so cute! And you shouldn't be in the back of the pics. You are so pretty. :hippie:

(*******************************************************)
I survived today! Yay me! Gus and I swam today at the club. It was so nice in the pool but it was SO hot! We stayed until about 12:30 and then met Bob at our favorite Italian place for calamari and pasta for lunch. We then came home and I fell asleep for an hour! I almost missed picking up SD. HE was not amused by my being late. Oopsie! :confused3

When we got back home, I cleaned the whole main floor. I usually do that on Thurs. but I have to see Dr. Seigle tomorrow and he wants to dialate my eyes. I can't see a dang thing when he does that so I figured I'd better get the house done now. We were all full after our huge lunch so we didn't make dinner. I promised SD some Wendy's (we don't do fast food, hardly at all) after his tennis lesson tonight so off we went for that.

I felt bad for him on that clay court. It was over 100 on the court! We got his drive-thru dinner and stopped to grab cilantro for the enchiladas I'm making tomorrow. Now I've showered and I'm really looking forward to chilling out on the couch! What a day!

I will check in with you guys tomorrow and let you know if he decides to poke me in the eye again. LMBO!!! ;)

MEL:banana:

:sad2: Stand up for your folks---my mom has a hard time saying NO to folks wanting to come and stay for the weekend. I told her just because she has a big house does not mean she wants to spend her days off entertaining long lost (and best forgotten!) relatives!

I know - my parents are mostly too nice to say "No," especially as they DO like having the family around. But just not right then. And their house really isn't that big. ;)

Aww! very cute.

Thank you!

:hug: Im sorry. has your mom or dad said anything back to them about what they want? It sounds so rude, but of course with only the best intentions.

Not that I'm aware of, but then my mom is much better about NOT thinking that everyone on her e-mail list needs to know everything.

Unfortunately i cant do homework online while watching hulu. :confused3 What is a girl to do?:rolleyes:

It's a dilemma :lmao:

When my sister was going through chemo, we were told it was not a good idea to have a lot of people around her b/c if she got sick while going through the chemo it would not be good b/c of her immune system.

If she persists, tell her that. I wouldn't want all those people around, either. All the treatments & meds have to be wearing him down and he isn't feeling well.

Ooh, that's a good idea. Thank you. :hug:

So far I've only posted pics of dd's ballet recital on FB. Here is a mini TR from our Dis trip.

Looks lovely! That pirate cruise seems like it must be a lot of fun. :thumbsup2 Thank you for sharing with us!

Had a busy but productive day!!

Glad it was good :goodvibes - have fun camping. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Wow--what a nice birthday!

And I LOVE the book cover and the Kimberly Kaye book---I've read most all of the dead end dating books! Let me know any new authors you are reading---we seem to have similar tastes and we both are book addicts!

And <<hint hint>>folks..........My birthday is coming up <<well, in January!>>and I would like a book cover like Kats!!

EBAY! They have 'em for about the same price i bought mine. Right now I am reading Gerry Barlett's Glory St. Clair series ("real vampires have curves" is the first one), Kim Harrison, Katie MacAlister. I have a ton of books still to read but keep buying anyway. I am in love with paperbackswap and it loves me back. :)

i agree! I always lug around books and it looks pretty too! Off to EBAY!:ssst:

I love me some Ebay! I need to look for a trade paper back sized book cover next!

LOVE these outfits!!! and wow did your kiddos grow fast!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just waiting on KC to get home so we can watch so you think u can dance. I'm tired, still recovering from yesterday.
Tomorrow I ahve to be at work (hee hee) at 1 so I'm gonna drag KC with me and Pants will meet us there. Tomorrow afternoon I am making homemade calzones for the 3 of us.
Have a great night all!
Nope. Grits=Blech
I actually do park my car in the garage. But we have yard sales, not garage sales.
CE- You are doing the right thing to "put your foot down" to your aunt. Is she always pushy?
Yes and no. Her heart is usually in the right place. She was never married. Turns out she had a son that she had given up for adoption back in '67, so the whole time I was growing up, she was childless and very attached to me and my cousin (the one that came to visit a couple of weeks ago.) I was out of college when her son found her (she wanted to be found) and so now at least she does have a bit of her own kids/family to be around, too. But, she'll do things like call me in September and want to know what I'm doing for Thanksgiving. We've explained to her over and over that D doesn't know his schedule that much ahead of time, and that we just can't plan that far ahead unless he takes vacation - which he doesn't usually do for holidays.
It's nice that she wants to stay connected, but she tends to have no understanding of what people with kids and husbands (and jobs, now that she's retired) might need to do. She'll just invite herself here, for example, and if I don't get back to her in 20 minutes from when she looks at flights, she just books them. This happened in Nov. - suddenly she decided it was the day to buy them, and I was at tennis or something, when I came home to find two e-mails: 1. "Is this going to be OK if I come in?" and maybe 15 minutes later, another, 2."I couldn't lose the fare so I just booked it." And, of course, it was the worst possible days and times for getting her to and from the airport.
Frankly, I think she's lonely. She splits her time between her house in CA near T, and a place in Park City, UT. She sort of has a boyfriend, but he's in CA, so when she spends half the year in UT... Her son has his adoptive parents (well, the dad - the mom passed away a few years ago) and his wife's family, too, so she gets shuffled in there. She truly loves us all, but then gets upset that D & I won't come see her, without realizing that we have both my parents and two sets of his family to deal with - she's pretty low on the family priority pole, if that makes sense. And I feel bad about that, but someone has to be there, and it's not going to be the grandparents of the kids. :sad2:
My kids are super wound up. :rolleyes: Why at night? :confused3
I know - mine were doing a game they were calling "Rough Punching!" right before bed. Swell.
I hope that he continues to be well. Poor guy. Why did the change the way they did it this time?
His oncologist is on vacation and I guess the other oncologist generally does a one-day rather than a two-day dose. :confused:
I love HULU!!!! I guess you could do it like CE does. Work online a bit, watch some HULU, work online, watch some HULU...etc. LOL
There you go! :rotfl:
I will check in with you guys tomorrow and let you know if he decides to poke me in the eye again.
Hope it goes well. :hug:
Good evening!!
JANET thinks we need a Focker baby. DAWN disagrees, strongly! :lmao: Janet's job is interfering with Focker time.:eek:
SLATE has had a homicide close to where she lives. Please be careful. I fear this will get worse for everyone before it gets better. People are desperate.
JV says it’s too hot for her cold blood. She found the unpublished Twilight. Yes I found it. I think it is wonderful to see things from Edward’s perspective. Too bad someone had to spoil it.
MIZ D is back from the motherland. She said there were a lot of GRUMPYS around. Her post is #1498 if you want to read about the winner of GRUMPYVILLE. She has been having trouble with her laptop screen. Her hubby ‘jimmy-rigged' it with a clamp and it works fine now. She wants some quiet time now. She posted a mini-TR, #1537, 1539. Your kids are so cute!!! It looks like they had a fabulous time.
ROSIE says Judy is still losing weight and doing great!:woohoo:
DAWN doesn’t want to be ugly to FB ‘friends’ that she is not that into. Ya’ll, I keep telling’ ya’, FB ain’t no good!!!! If you want to feel right at home, go see my stuff on Enchanted. The Series is called “The Redneck Chronicles”. I may do a TR over here for my BFF trip. If’n I do, I ain’t changing’ them words like I done in the past!!! Talk about drivin’ northerners crazy!!!!
DEB says ignore FB people you don’t want to deal with. She is losing her current supervisor and is afraid she’ll have to start watching her smart mouth now. Her hubby has to testify in court about a former employer. :hug:
V says it rained but now it is just humid again. I sent a text to Rockie today. She’s down there right now. She said it was hot and humid. I let her know it’s the same back up here.
JO’s mice liked the chocolate. I guess that is as good a last request as any. She is learning about firemen’s hoses. Maybe they showed you how to slide down some poles too!!!??? :rotfl2:
TE has a list of lies for FB, #1510.
CE says D is feeling better. Her Dad got all his chemos yesterday. He seems to be OK. He has to have boosters for his white cells all week. It is confirmed on post #1530-CE had a butt bow. Sorry about the aunt. That’s just outrageous! Her heart is in the right place but she needs to understand that people have lives that don't revolve around her.
HI LESSA!
KAT showed off her outfit, post #1521. She starts work on next Thursday. You look so nice in that. Purple is your color! I know exactly how you feel about planning your own party. I’ve had that happen a couple of times. Um, you do look like you are feelin’ special in that last pic with the shot. YAY on the job starting!!
CEL BEL has found out she can’t do homework and watch HULU at the same time. :lmao:
MEL had pool time yesterday. She cleaned too. She will see the eye doctor today. I hope everything comes out OK!!!
Work called. I get to fill in for someone tomorrow night. JOY! :headache: The money will help fill in Doug's gaps in pay. He will be off a total of 4 weeks in the next 3 months due to cut-backs.
At my plant site they are saying we might get calls the second week of July. Rumor is - we are sold to another pharmaceuticals company. :confused3 I'll just have to wait and see. I hope so.
Doug is off starting next week for 2 weeks. We are going to Shipshewhatever-you-spell it on Tue. I'm not giving him a honey-do list for the rest of the time off. We'll see what he does. If it stays as hot as it has been, probably not much. I won't blame him for staying in where it is cool.
I probably won't be back until Friday. Ya'll behave, OK!
OMG! I need this downstairs!
Today is the big day! Good luck, Kat!
I actually do park my car in the garage. But we have yard sales, not garage sales.
LOL. I pahk my cah in the yahd. Our gahrahg is full of Bob's dang Mustang. ;)
What does Doug do? (For work, I mean....)
Well, today is going to be hot again! Whew!
At 9am the bug guy is coming to spray for those pesky ants! Then at 2 I'll see Dr. Seigle. That's it for me. I'm going to do the prep work for chicken enchiladas this morning so that it won't be too much later. My eyes will be dialated, so that isn't really the best time to be shredding chicken and other stuff! LOL
Hope you all have a great day!
Mel:banana:
Kat, thanks for the photos of the city. You are really making me want to go to NY now. KC is a hoot and the good and silly photos had me laughing.
CE - :hug: So sorry about your aunt. I hope she understands and backs off.
Ms Diz - looks likes a great trip.
Thanks to everyone for the good thought regarding the court date. I will try to keep you posted but like I said I am not sure what I am allowed to discuss. You could probably find news articles if you know what my husband does for a living and what state we live in :rolleyes1
I got a check in the mail from my son's doctor for $225. Apparently they had miscalculated my insurance co-pay for his procedures a while back. Unfortunately they made the check out to me and my exhusband and in my former last name. :headache:
We got company at work today so I have to dress nice. I need to leave in 20 minutes and I am still in my pjs.
Meh!
Gah!
Carp!
Thanks. :hug:
Speaking of, I don't think I've shared the ridiculousness of my aunt, my dad's sister. :sad2:
When my cousin was up a couple of weeks ago, we briefly discussed trying to get to my parents' house at the same time this summer. She and her parents always came to my folks' once in the summer and over Christmas when she was growing up, mostly because my grandparents lived right across the street from us. Anyway, she loves being there, too, but it was a passing thought.
She must have said something to her mom, who lives in TX. (It's her dad that is my dad's brother...) Her mom e-mailed me a bit later, saying she wished we could all meet up in IL, but that my uncle, who is a professor at Texas A & M, would have to be back in school when I'd be there after BIL's wedding.
OK, no big deal.
Now in jumps my dad's sister - wanting us to ALL get together that week after my BIL's wedding at my parents'. And she sent a mass e-mail including HER son and his 3 kids, more or less inviting them to come, too, wondering if I could change my dates, wondering if she could fly into Chicago and have me drive her the 3 hours back and forth to my parents' house... And she said IN THE MESSAGE that she knew it was a treatment week for Dad.
She did not send the message to my mom. She's more or less invited 11 people to my parents' house without checking with my mom and dad. :mad:
I wrote right back, saying that I couldn't change when I was there, due to the wedding. I reminded her that her other brother had already said he couldn't come then. I told her (she honestly might not have known this) that my parents are invited to my BIL's wedding and so they would not even be home that weekend, as they'll be in Chicago with us. I said I could bring her to my parents' from Chicago, but couldn't take her back, because it's out of my way when I drive home from their house - I need to angle across OH rather than drive 3 hours straight north to Chicago and then come back east...
And then I quite firmly said that I thought it was a horrible idea for all of us to be there when my dad has a treatment. I am feeling bad about bringing energetic and demanding kids myself - they don't need more people in the house. Even if he's not getting ill, he's getting tired, and there's not room for everyone, anyway. If I could go any other time, I would, etc., etc.
So, anyway, I told my mom I'd tried to head her off. Mom and Dad were both VERY grateful. Then yesterday my aunt sent another e-mail (this time to Mom and Dad, too - but the rest of us as well) saying, "Well, it might not work out for ALL of us, but I'll still see what I can do." :headache:
My mom said to me last night, "At least you tried." She sounded very weary and resigned. Dad himself said, "I'd love to see everyone, but not all at once, and not then."
I have more work to do. :rolleyes:
And I may or may not have called my aunt a few nasty names out loud to D when I read her message yesterday... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
Sorry, just needed to vent that out. The thing is, she's not a purposely bad person, she's just always so sure everyone can't wait to see her. But, she's the one - I know I've talked about her before - who tells D what it's like to travel, tells me what lazy people office workers are (when I was at the time working in an office), she shows up at my mom's and throws parties for her old friends, saying she'll do all the work, but, well... And yes, she's 69 years old and acting this way. :sad2:
Gah.
I like to hear family vents. Let's me know I'm not alone :laughing: when it comes to relatives driving you nuts...
I need to go make waffles, everyone but me's been up for two hours and I can hear tummies grumbling. Well, my DH is actually grumbling with his mouth :lmao: but you know what I mean.
Headed to Hilton Head for a two day surprise weekend tomorrow :cool1:.
Sorry about the aunt. That’s just outrageous! Her heart is in the right place but she needs to understand that people have lives that don't revolve around her.
Thanks, she's not a horrible person by any means, but she's not very practical sometimes. And she's getting more difficult as she gets older. ;)
Work called. I get to fill in for someone tomorrow night. JOY! :headache: The money will help fill in Doug's gaps in pay. He will be off a total of 4 weeks in the next 3 months due to cut-backs.
Well, the extra money is good, I guess...
TAt 9am the bug guy is coming to spray for those pesky ants! Then at 2 I'll see Dr. Seigle. That's it for me. I'm going to do the prep work for chicken enchiladas this morning so that it won't be too much later. My eyes will be dialated, so that isn't really the best time to be shredding chicken and other stuff! LOL
But it would be interesting! ;) Have a good day. :hug:
CE - :hug: So sorry about your aunt. I hope she understands and backs off.
Thank you. :goodvibes As always, I appreciate you guys letting me vent.
Unfortunately they made the check out to me and my exhusband and in my former last name. :headache:
Oh, I'm sure that will be fun to deal with...
Meh!
Gah!
Carp!
Nice use of the Focker words! :)
************************************************
We're off to the gym as I still have fun tennis this morning (we are hoping to switch to an afternoon class for July.) The boys are too old for the nursery there (I think by the rules as well as in maturity) and yet the Junior Activity Room (where they are less supervised, for older kids) isn't open until afternoon. My friend is bringing the girl twins that my boys love, and we're going to let them wander the club grounds as a pack. They have 3 playgrounds, and we hope that we can have class outside, so that it's easier to keep track of them. We've packed "do bags", too - they should be fine.
They are one year too young, yet, to be in the pool alone, even though all 4 of them are super swimmers. Oh, well.
But, I have to go right now! See you!
Good Morning Fockers:hug:
CE - I like the response someone gave (Mary?) about what to tell your aunt. The doctor told us the same thing when mom had chemo!:hug:
Mel -:hug::hug:Hope everything goes well at Dr. Siegel's. On the flip side can you do the cutting and shredding after your eyes are dilated..just becasue:rolleyes1
Mary - Pirate cruise looks like tons of fun. Your kids are adorable and they have gotten so big!:goodvibes
KJJ (Sorry if you gave us your name. I'm old so forgive me:flower3:) - grumbling husbands are no fun:sad2:
Debra - Stinks about the check. Hope it gets straightened out for you.
Jen, Dawn, Kristel, Sam and everyone I'm sure I missed. :wave2:
----------------------------------------
Today starts turning the building upside down at work. Things are going to be crazy for the next week or so. I will check in periodically but I may not be able to respond. Will do so when I can.
Have a great day:goodvibes
Morning! Hugs all around - it sounds like a tough Wednesday. :grouphug:
Not much happening here. My boss is off for a few days, so I'm expecting all hell to break loose around here any minute. :rolleyes: Leo and I had a discussion about rides planning for August this morning... it was, um... interesting and shall be reported in my PTR. Soonish. ;)
Dudes, those online ADRs are dangerous! I was able to pull all my phoned-in ADRs up online, so I've been making and canceling meals like a mad woman! :rotfl: I wonder how many others are doing the same... it's at the point where I check each morning just to see what's magically become available overnight. Even if I don't want them, it's sort of fun to watch openings come and go.
Wow.
I seriously need a life, eh?!
Just marking my spot, will reply once I've got back from picking Ellie up from school, blimey you guys have become chatter boxes :rotfl2:
Dudes, those online ADRs are dangerous!
Now that sounds FUN, to us WDW Freaks. ;)
Just marking my spot,
Like a dog or a cat? ;):rotfl2: LY/MI just could resist.
Mel- That was SMART for thinking ahead to din din. Good luck today!
Janet- Good LUCK to you at work! :hug:
CE- Your aunt means well. I bet it's all about setting boundaries with her. :)
Kristel- I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. :hug:
Have a great day Fockers!
----------------------------------------------------
I watched Twilight the movie last night. (Don't read ahead if you haven't read the book/seen the movie)
I thought it was good. I was disappointed that they didn't cast a better actress though. I don't think they were able to portray the real Love drawn between Bella an Edward, with her. I realize these are "teen" books, but they are beautifully written love stories that are appealing to a wide audience.
I get the next two books tomorrow and I am a titch concerned that I am going to be disappointed.
Last night was also ironing, Ironing, IRONING for TINK's photo session today. I really have no idea what to put her in, so I am bringing an array of clothing. I'm sure it is far too much, but I am indecisive.
Last day of double swimming lessons for a while. I'm thinking ds might not pass the level of lessons he is in?:confused3 They tested them yesterday and I couldn't tell if he did it all right.
SO it's TINKS Swimming Lessons, Picnic, Open Swimming, ds Swimming lessons, TINK Photo session, Last but not least Music in the park for a picnic dinner with friends. :woohoo:
How's it going? We just got questioned by the detectives.......we are getting an alarm system next Thursday.
It's a shame when it's not even safe for a 12 year old to be home alone anymore. Kids used to babysit at 12. :sad2:
Wow! SOunds like a lot of fun; now if only I had a trip planned......
Have to go back and catch up!!! Good luck Kat !!! I havn't seeen the pix yet but can't wait to hear about the DREAM JOB!!!!!!!
