You can block others so they can't read what you say too. I only know this becasue someone blocked me. I can read when someone responds to them, but I can't read what they wrote.
Who would block you? :confused3

I get you about the FB thing too. Do what you need to do, don't sweat it. OR you can make a block list of high school people who can't see your everyday updates?! Just an option.
I should look into it. :surfweb:

BTW... do you now live close to your mom?
Yes. She's only a few minutes from my house now.

Oooh cupcakes. Chocolate????

What kind of cupcakes???

Yes, chocolate! :lovestruc Which is what I was going to make anyway but then Reid did request them. :goodvibes

Debra- Take shelter in your basement! :thumbsup2 I feel for you in that weather!
No basements in the South, well, very few and only if your house it built into a hill. My grandparents had one in Cincy and we were down there all the time. :thumbsup2

I've decided to get my scrapbooking stuff out today and scrap my heart out! Tomorrow, after ds's baseball game, DH is taking the kids on an overnight camp out at a local park. :yay: Quiet house to myself! :cloud9: Lets see if I can stay off the DIS long enough to get some stuff done. :upsidedow
Have fun! :goodvibes I always see all this different scrapbooking paraphernalia on QVC, but have never done it.

Hi, everyone!

I tried to quote this morning, and the boards froze up. :headache:Since then I've been running around a lot today, so I've not been on.

Anyway, I've read, but I'm not even go to try to comment on everything. Just know that I read and I thought the appropriate things for everyone. ;)

I went to school, where the class gave me a nice little ice cream gift card. :goodvibes Then I met up with the other room mom, and gave her all the money I had for teachers' gifts, and she was going to do that. I had to get gas and drop off a book of wedding readings for my future SIL. It gets passed around between D's siblings, apparently. We did use it.

Anyway, I came home, thinking it would be a quiet afternoon, but then the phone rang, and my laptop was back at the Best Buy. BUT they had to replace the whole hard drive, and somehow it came back with no operating system. :confused3 They asked if I had the recovery disk, which I did think I had done. It didn't ship with one, but I really feel that I remember making one as they recommended over and over when I first got it, especially giving that the previous had died the sudden, sad death. I know better than to not.

I searched and searched, but couldn't find it.

So they had said if I didn't have one, I could order it for $15 from HP, but they couldn't do anything for me without that disc, which is going to take a week to get in, and I had to order it myself. They were going to keep the computer and have me bring the disc in and they'd put it on. I am sick of going back and forth, though, so I brought it home, and when the disc comes, I'll take care of it myself. I feel fully capable, but I'm impatient.

So for now, I'm still on the cheap "loaner" computer, but I do think we're going to keep it. D will use it for a couple of years, and we'll give his to the kids to destroy. :rolleyes:When he gets a new one with all the connections he wants, and web cam and so on, they can have this one. In the meantime, though, it's mine. :lmao:

Anyway, all that searching and driving and, well, I stopped to get weekend wine... :rolleyes1:rotfl: I wasn't home long before the kids came home. D has been somewhere around home for nearly 45 minutes, but he needed to stop to get coffee (he said he would this morning, or I would have done it when I got wine) and I don't know why that's taking so long... :rotfl2:

And, as soon as he gets back, one of us will likely go pick up our Friday night take out for "movie night."

It finally isn't raining, but it's 71 and muggy as all get out. :scared:

I'm grouchy. :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a good evening. D did just pull in, and so we'll need to figure out dinner. :) I think he picked up "The Tale of Desperaux" at the Red Box, so that should be our movie.

See you later! :grouphug:

Oooh, what time should I be there!;)
9.30 tomorrow morning, with your bathing suit. :thumbsup2
BUT they had to replace the whole hard drive, and somehow it came back with no operating system. :confused3
How annoying! Obviously you had it on there when you gave it to them.

Anyway, all that searching and driving and, well, I stopped to get weekend wine... :rolleyes1:rotfl:
Very smart! :thumbsup2 What are you drinking these days? I got some Bogle chard the other day. It's nice and not that expensive.

It finally isn't raining, but it's 71 and muggy as all get out. :scared:
:rotfl2: Muggy and 71! It's 92 here at 5.30.

I'm grouchy. :rotfl:
Well, you should move here and then we could have wine daily at whenever o'clock. :)

Hello everyone!!!
So much for the rain we were supposed to get. 90 outside today.

DEB is melting. She is babysitting for a friend this weekend. She says Omicron is getting more like his father. She’s not sure why. Genetic, enviro? I’m sure you are right . Both play into it.

ANGELA is ready for Reid to be out of the Mooch/Mitch stage. She is procrastinating on the cup cake baking. The only person disappointed about the way we did our wedding was his sister. She wanted to be there. I think it was because he is the baby of the group. However, if you let one you have to let them all. Sounds harsh but if I had really had my way we would have done it at the clerks office. The church service was for his mom.
I hope the cupcakes came out yummy.

CE’s wedding sounded fun. I have a cousin that used to sing in a quartet. He sang at all his daughters weddings.

ROSIE had a run-away and a Tylenol PM.

JV scored some great clothes for Tink at a sample sale. Cool! Well we flew to Vegas.:lmao: Actually, my DDad paid for the whole trip since I didn’t have the ‘big’ wedding. His mom and dad gave us spending money. If I had it to do over, I wouldn’t change a thing. Oh, except I’d invite my Fockers to the reception.
Hope you had fun scrapping.

JANET says Jimmy does have a sinus infection. He is going to camp though. She has a busy weekend. She has been blocked by someone on FB. :rolleyes1

MEL’s still not feeling too good. Her wedding was in front of strangers who were divorcing with a one-eyed preacher. OMG Mel, this straight out of a Mel Brooks spoof. I hope you get over this carpy stuff soon.

JODI says DD8 has been at church camp. She and DD5 went to art class today at the Children’s Museum. Her Hubbsters birthday is tomorrow! Tell him Happy Birthday from me. How's the weather treatin' ya'? We might as well be in Florida.

KAT is doing French tonight. She and KC had some awesome chocolates from Secret Spoon. KC has to go to work earlier than usual. She wants to know if anyone is doing anything special on the 4th. Nope I’m working that night.

V’s Wii is still trying to maim her.:rotfl2:

DAWN says don’t let kids do their own sunscreen application. She doesn’t like being popular on FB.

JO was rubbish today at golf. She wants to skype with someone. Sorry Jo, on both counts.

LORI still has no time even though the kids are gone. She did get some shopping done.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I met Doug at Menard's after he got off work. It's a big DIY store for those that don't have one. I needed to figure out what we could use to finish up the garage door, trim etc. He shows me the grill he wants. It's a charcoal grill with a smoker. $200! Holy burnin' hamburgers! I told him we needed to get the patio done 1st. :rolleyes1

Nothing exciting for tonight. I'm 'cooking' hamburgers and then we will watch 'The Uninvited'. Did I tell you Doug wasn't happy about me rearranging the Netflix que? We should get the good stuff now.

I probably won't be back until Sunday. Have a great weekend!

I'll PM you;)
I don't even know why I had to ask. Not surprised. No big loss there. ;)

I'm grouchy. :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a good evening. D did just pull in, and so we'll need to figure out dinner. :) I think he picked up "The Tale of Desperaux" at the Red Box, so that should be our movie.

See you later! :grouphug:
 I'm sorry you're grouchy. Have a nice night with the family. :cutie:

Good Luck!

Thanks Kat! :goodvibes

It was a late night for me, finishing a book. Then the mail man came early today knocking on my door, but he brought me my True Blood Blu Ray Set!! :woohoo:

I am procrastinating. I need to get into the shower but I know Pants hasn't left his house yet and it's about an hour or so on the train so I have time. I'm excited for the French restaurant tonight! Here's hopin' KC will be ok since he literally got 2 hours of sleep.

Anywho HAPPY FRIDAY!![/COLOR]

Sounds like a good day. Hope you have a fun night!

Lori- Hi you! Are you hanging on without the kiddos? WHAT did you buy yourself?

I'm doing pretty good. I'm enjoying getting to sleep in in the mornings but the afternoon/evenings drag. I find myself putting the Disney Channel on in the evenings though. :rotfl: I'm sure once school starts next week I'll be busy with that and homework will be keeping me busy. And I didn't buy anything for myself yesterday but did buy a new bag and a bunch of supplies today at Walmart.

Hi, everyone!

 Hi CE! Sounds like a busy day. Hope you enjoy movie night.

:rotfl: Ain't that the truth?!?!

Better day today !! No running away !! I even wentout to lunch with one of the consumers on the company!! Even better I am off for 3 days !! Still on call but at least can have some 'putor time !!
I went for my annual OB/GYN and it wasn't too good !! I have to have a sono on Monday and have bunch of other appointments !! I'm hoping for the best !! But I seem to constantly have bad results in that department !!

I've just awoken from a long, long nap. Just popping in to say hi ho!

TINK is screaming at the top of her lungs because her brother had a little bit of orange crush pop (or soda as some of you's ;)call it). Oh my oh my! :scared:

Drive by so I can stay caught up :moped:

Janet...sounds like you've got something juicy going on on FB ;) I don't even go there anymore. I'm a loser.

Angela....have an awesome birthday party :goodvibes I hope Reid has a great time.

Mel....one eyed JOP and a weeping divorcee? Too funny. DH and I did the JOP, too. After our "ceremony" (which was just us :cloud9:) we were on our way to lunch at our favorite restaurant in Georgetown (DC). We got into an accident and spent the rest of the day/night in the ER.

We still curse the kid who hit us.
**********************

It is H.O.T. 97 today. 101 tomorrow. :scared: (pretend that's sweat. ;))

Have a great weekend :goodvibes I'll check back when I can :flower3:

Hello Fockers!

Kate: Whoa! That's awful. Thankfully we didn't get in an accident later...I will tell the rest of the story at the end. :lmao: How's the Dad visit going?

Rosie: Fingers crossed for your testing.

Angela: I had to have one of "those" ultrasound ones before! SHOCKING! LOL! Hope your cupcakes turned out nice and that you got your pool time. I miss you and Mooch but I'm glad I'm NOT in FL. Whew! 93 degrees. Ugh.

Jo: Sorry your golf game stunk. Better next time, I'm sure! :thumbsup2

Kristel: Yeah, I know Menards! "Save Big Money at Menards!!!!!!" LOL I remember the commercials from Peoria! :yay:

CE: Dang! Computers are such a pain. :sad2:

Janet: Poor Janet. Feel better honey.

Who did I miss? Sorry, if I missed you.....

******
First, the good news! I'm not feeling sick anymore!:banana::banana: NotBob came home late last night and snuggled up with me and I'm all better. We slept until 11 am! Never done that (I don't think...) When I woke up I felt soooooo much better! :thumbsup2
Thanks for all the good wishes (those helped too!)

The reception story:
We didn't want to do the whole big wedding thing back in Boston (and let the mothers plan it, OMG) so we did the JOP thing in Peoria. We had with us: Bob's Bro, his wife Jen, my mom & dad, my gramma & grampa and my Bff, Jen. We had lots of friends in our condo complex so as a surprise they decorated the pool area (it was June in Peoria, and HOT) with balloons and streamers and stuff and got us a cake and champagne.
BACK STORY INTERJECTION:
Sadly, as is the case with regulatory boards staffed by members of your "peers", the small group of condo residents who made up the board of the association were mad with their newly found powers! They made enemies of us almost immediately because we refused to close our balcony door. Yes, you heard me. We wouldn't close our door. It was the only way to get a breath of air, and it was HOT! They constantly harrassed us and were just unbelievable. They (a group of 6 of our IMMEDIATE neighbors) did everything they could to get us evicted. Over our open door. :sad2:
OK BACK TO THE RECEPTION:
So, we got to the pool area and they yelled surprise (our friends, not the enemies of course) and we had cake and champagne. I was 20 yrs old. Not legal, though I would've been in 5 months. The police came to the pool area. They said the association called them to report an underage drinking party. I was the ONLY one underage. And the BRIDE!!!
I didn't have a glass in my hand though so they congratulated us and left. But first they told us that the association wanted us off the pool property. So we grabbed everything and went to our condo. I cried all day. :sad2:
The next day (while we were in St. Louis at Six Flags for our "small" honeymoon-we went to Disney later in the year) while NotBob's bro and wife were at the pool they called the cops again and tried to have them arrested for trespassing.

I try to not think about those things. My wedding was beautiful as far as I'm concerned and the reception was done out of such love for us. Those people will surely face their own punishment now OR later.....

Ok. So, that's the story.

MEL:banana:

I searched and searched, but couldn't find it.
I'm so sorry CE. I do hope you find your recover disk. I know this has gone on long enough for you.
The wedding book sounds interesting. What is in it?

Hello everyone!!!

Hi Kristel! Thanks for the wonderful update (as usual)

I probably won't be back until Sunday. Have a great weekend!

Bye Have a great weekend!

Hi Rosie. :yay: for the 3 days off!

Drive by so I can stay caught up :moped:

Have a great weekend :goodvibes I'll check back when I can :flower3:
You too!

The reception story:
OMG :headache: Thats awful! But it does make a great story. :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing with us. :thumbsup2

Came home and my house was 90 degrees in the downstairs and 94 in my bedroom. :scared:
Before that I picked up my friend's boys and realized I had NO FOOD. So i had to go to the store so that I could feed them something. Their parents are in Colorado at a wedding. they are sleeping in our room now because they said it is too hot downstairs and we have the only window unit in our room.

Dawn, I guess I look at Fb differently than you. I do use it to kinda keep up with people that I wouldn't normally talk to (i.e. HS friends, etc). I don't care what they are doing on a day to day basis but I do want to know if they are getting married, having children, or even when a classmate dies (which one did recently). Likewise I don't post personal stuff that I don't mind the whole world knowing but just general conversations and big changes in my life that would be considered general knowledge.
We had a rather bad custody battle and some internet blogs were used in court. So I feel like I can be friends with *almost* everyone but I do have to be careful about what I say and post.

OMGosh about the blogs being used!

Yeah, I think that's the beauty of FB. Everyone can use it a different way that meets their needs. :thumbsup2

Um yea, they were bad. :sad2:
I sometimes go a month without checking FB. I like it better here (on TFW thread) than I do at FB :grouphug: I do sometimes wish that I could be more open to you ladies here though

KAT- Enjoy the restaurant. Is it fancy attire too?

It is a nice casual place, I wore flip flops, it was heavenly.

You guys are coming in the 24th right...and we are getting together on Saturday the 25th?

Yea I just have no idea what day it is lol Sat the 25th yea. :rotfl:

Anyway, I came home, thinking it would be a quiet afternoon, but then the phone rang, and my laptop was back at the Best Buy. OK I am really mad for you! KC worked at Circuit City at Fire Dog which is EXACTLY the same as Geek Squad at Best Buy. They need to send you back that laptop the exact same way it came, with the OS installed. I am pissed they made you order the backup disk when they need to give it back to you the way it came to them. Esp. if you are under warranty. Did they tell you why they had to replace the drive? They should have made an image backup and given it back to you in tact. Anyways, when the disk comes in and you need any help just call me! KC is mad for you as well and will help you if u need it. I'll get of my soapbox now!

I probably won't be back until Sunday. Have a great weekend!

You too!!!

I'm sorry to hear that Rosie!!!:hug: and some pixiedust:pixiedust: for good measure!

First, the good news! I'm not feeling sick anymore!

The reception story:

Ok. So, that's the story.

MEL:banana:

Glad you are feeling better!! Yay for NotBob being home! And wow for the story, at least you have some good stories, thats all that matters because you got through it!

********************************
We had a GREAT dinner! I had Ratatouille on a crepe with goat cheese. OMG was it good. KC had duck with a berry sauce that was amazing and Pants had a steak so tender it fell apart in your mouth. A great meal!!!

I did get to Target today too, with Pants. Friggin' $80 later we got out of there. Mostly snacks bought, and one book, and some tuperware and random house carp.

Somehow KC is awake still after 2 hours of sleep and 17 awake. He plans to game for a while before bed, it's making me tired just thinking about being awake that long. We'll see how long he lasts.

Anyways I'm off to relax and get some rest. Night night all. Sweet dreams!

Why, yes, NotBob!!! I do think it's wonderful that you have your watch alarm set for 7:15 am and you can sleep right through it! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

So, I'm first. Not by choice though. Dang men. :headache:

We got SO much rain yesterday and last night I worried that I might have to build an ark! LOL. It's done now I think.

My tummy is still feeling good. I am so relieved. :worship: Having stomach flu is the WORST!!!

What is everyone planning for Father's Day? We got cards, are taking NotBob out for breakfast and then he had requested some stuff at the nursery for his garden so we'll go get that.
Oh, and I plan on making a nice roasted chicken dinner that night too.

Well, everyone is sleeping still. Guess I'll go watch the news.
