Just back from seeing Harry Potter and I thought it was so boring, I've loved all the books and the films so far but this film was just slow and no action
ITA. :sad2:

So who's done the grand Floridan tea and what do I need to know?

Do it - it was YUMMY!!! :thumbsup2

Hey all. Just a quick drive by, becasue I'm not supposed to be on the computer. SO, I don't have pink eye. I have Iriscitius (sp).
:hug::hug::hug: Have a safe, fun trip!

Anyways, today he was outside playing (in long pants and long sleeves) and he must have picked up the cat. She got ticked off at him and bit him on the arm. He came inside crying to me and I was looking him over and noticed that one of her teeth was left in the sleeve of his shirt. I showed it to him and he then asks if we could put the tooth under the cat when she goes to sleep tonight so the Tooth Fairy could come. :lmao: I didn't have the heart to tell him no so it looks like I'm playing Tooth Fairy to a cat. :lmao:
:lmao:

All I'll say, it was an ummmmm... interesting trip, not one I'd like to ever repeat. Waldo was as wandering as ever and throw in TE in her wacky soapbox racing scooter - it was insanity... sheer insanity. :headache:
But, but, but... we had fun, too, right?! ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning! It sucks to be home. I slept until 9:30 and when I woke, I had a moment of panic, thinking I'd missed rope drop. Then I remembered: the only rope drop in my weekend is at the grocery store. :rolleyes:
Leo is at his dad's for one last weekend before the ex moves to Idaho. I'm just doing laundry and getting ready to pack up again - we leave for a week in Buffalo next Sat.!
FYI, it was hot in Orlando. It's even HOTTER at home. :headache:
Welcome back V & T! Glad y'all had a good trip and can't wait to start reading the TR's.
Rosie - Yay for the shopping and getting excited!
:wave: I know more people replied but my brain is short on memory this morning. So, HI! to everyone I missed!
Not much going on with us today so I'll just be popping in and out.
Good Morning Fockers! :wave2:
Well we're home, after a fantastic trip and the traveling day from hell. :sad2:
All I'll say, it was an ummmmm... interesting trip, not one I'd like to ever repeat. Waldo was as wandering as ever and throw in TE in her wacky soapbox racing scooter - it was insanity... sheer insanity. :headache:
Hope everyone's doing well, I didn' even get to skim, but did use Kristel's update (thanks hon!) - I'll be back later to catch up (sort of) - but first... I need COFFEE!!!! :surfweb:
popcorn::
Seriously?! Last night Mom e-mailed me and said she can't pay for her own room so I should switch our stay from BLT (our first trip home!!!) to another hotel that uses less points so we could have a 2 bedroom. She said she couldn't afford to go if she had to pay her own way. :headache:
I told her that's we'd miss her. :rolleyes1
I'm sure there will be an angry, ugly reply sent back today. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to tell my hubby hat we can't stay at our home resort b/c my mom's coming. She already refused to do the DDP so we can't. Then she was only invited a few days and she said she was coming the whole time. We'd have to change our whole trip to suit her. Like K said last night, we invited her to come on our family's trip, not design a trip around her. :sad2:
Stick to your guns, girl. :hug: Trust T. I just came off a trip where I used all my points for my family and heard nothing but complaints. I'll never do that again. :snooty:
Just FYI- if your mom's in a different room, she doesn't have to do the DDP. ;)
Cute! It's perfect for you! :thumbsup2
We had an amazing trip though and I can't wait to write my TR. OMG it was HOT!! But it was awesome!
I can't wait to read it! :teeth:
And Dawn, I saw your posts about your trip and your mom...:hug:. I totally understand what you're going through...stay strong and stand your ground!! We actually have told very few family members that we're DVC owners because of things like that...If you recall Cruella & Horace from the worlds' worst trip in 2006, family members can destroy a trip and a trip can destroy the relationship.
I get guilt for NOT inviting people along and then when I do invite people along, I'm expecting to pay for EVERYTHING. Family vacation drama stinks:headache:. Oh - and so does when your friends don't quite understand why you can't let them "use your timeshare":sad2:
ITA! :thumbsup2
Just back from seeing Harry Potter and I thought it was so boring, I've loved all the books and the films so far but this film was just slow and no action :sad2: We're now off to see Mum and have fish & chips!
Glad to see you're having a great time. We thought of you so many times this past week. :goodvibes
My dad decided today that he is retiring and moving to FL. I guess it'll be next week, or the following, heck maybe even in a month. :confused3 Either way he's moving and happy about it. I'm happy for him as well. The kids are excited since they equal FL to Disney World. :rotfl: I told them Pappy will be living by the beach and they didn't care about that, just about Disney. Is that a good thing or bad??? :confused3 :rotfl2: I need to start saving money for a trip down to see him so the kids can hit their favorite place in the world. ;)
Cool! You'll have FL roots, now! ;)
Hey all. Just a quick drive by, becasue I'm not supposed to be on the computer. SO, I don't have pink eye. I have Iriscitius (sp). Basically I have the same thing Mel has. Pressure on the tissue behind the eyes. The doctor said 90% of the time it's not caused by anything, but it's the other 10% they get concerned about. (Glaucoma, Lyme disease, diabetes)
He gave me 2 sets of drops. One I have to do every hour today, every 3 hours tomorrow and SUnday, then 4 times a day until I see him again (8/19). The other one is 4x per day.
I already called Mel for moral support:hug:
On the plus side it isn't preventing our trip, so all systems are go for Sunday. Since My sight is limited though I probably won't be back before we leave on Sunday. So have a great weekeveryone and I will see you when we get back!
Oh Janet! I hope you're doing better! Have a fantastic trip. Don't worry, we left you some heat and humidity. ;)
Happy Friday!!
I’ve been fighting a migraine since yesterday afternoon. It’s enough to make feel nauseous every once in a while.
Blech! That's not good. Feel better soon, Kristel!
Ahhhh.... I'm all caught up. :teeth: Carry on. ;)
CE, Awesome dress :thumbsup2
Thank you!
Today was DHs first off day at his new job where he now gets every friday off. He took the kids swimming. I am so jealous.
That's cool - so he did take the job? I must have missed that!
Yes...the kids will miss him very much! and your right, I'm not complaining that much about his move because it could be worse. LOL
There you go!
I didn't have the heart to tell him no so it looks like I'm playing Tooth Fairy to a cat. :lmao:
:rotfl2:
Hi ladies
:wave2:
Hiya, Scott! :)
Things are good here. Rainy (finally) but good. I wish I had something exciting to talk about, but I don't.
Glad you're here, anyway. Missed you, Melly! :goodvibes
Good Morning All !! Busy planning th girls birthday party next week !! They are havinga SLEEPOVER:scared1:
Sounds like fun! :)
Well we're home, after a fantastic trip and the traveling day from hell. :sad2:
Leo is at his dad's for one last weekend before the ex moves to Idaho. I'm just doing laundry and getting ready to pack up again - we leave for a week in Buffalo next Sat.!
Any more thoughts from the ex about what to do??? We missed you, but thanks for the tweets. :) How long are you in Buffalo? I will be driving through on the 13th late at night, and the 29th or 30th... ;)
Stick to your guns, girl. :hug: Trust T. I just came off a trip where I used all my points for my family and heard nothing but complaints. I'll never do that again. :snooty:
Thanks! I like it, and you can't beat the deal!
I can't wait to read it! :teeth:
****************************************************
My neighbor just came over, bearing another navy suit coat for Buzz, so now both kids are set for the rehearsal dinner, except for shoes.
Opinion question:
We just plain don't use dress shoes. I had a pair of hand-me-downs from the same neighbor for my Grandpa's funeral in Oct., and had to buy a pair for Woody. Now, he can't wear those, and may or may not be able to wear the ones Buzz wore for the funeral. For the wedding, they'll have the rental tux shoes, so I'm once again looking at dress shoes for a few hours for the rehearsal.
Would it be TOO weird to have them wear the rented shiny tux shoes for the rehearsal? Or, should I just go ahead and search for normal black shoes? I can always try the consignment shop.
Then...
My neighbor looked at the dress with three pairs of shoes and two sets of jewelry. We decided on the silver shoes and the pearls (which the bride brought to me from China, so it's kind of nifty, too...) :thumbsup2
The boys had a birthday party today, and had fun - now they're outside with the neighbor. D went up to do some talking/working at the boat, and it's good, because they decided the oil needed changing and it's dirty from sitting uncovered (we can't cover it with the temp window fix...)
We're going up tomorrow. ;)
Anyway...
That's all I know. Hope everyone's having a good day! I'm starting to freak out that we're leaving on Thursday. It's so SOON! :eek: :rotfl:
Just FYI- if your mom's in a different room, she doesn't have to do the DDP. ;)
I'm sorry they weren't more appreciative. :guilty:
I dont' have to worry about the DDP- she's not coming anymore. After all the junk she's said and tried to pull, she's no longer invited. K has spoken! :rolleyes:
That's cool - so he did take the job? I must have missed that!
Yes, he took the new job. It is 15 minutes closer to home and the boss is real flexible with his schedule. So far his only complaint is the bathroom. It is in an old building and the bathroom is NASTY.
My vote is to wear the tux shoes for the rehearsal. If you don't need dress shoes except for this one occassion I wouldn't buy them.
Hi Lori. :rotfl:
Hi ladies
:wave2:
Hi Scott
Good Morning Fockers! :wave2:
Welcome back!
Welcome back V! I quoted you but lost it
Evening!
Alpha and Chi had taekwondo testing this morning. Chi didn't get to test last testing cycle because we were at Disney so she was really looking forward to advancing this time. She has been 'stuck' at brown belt for a while. We just learned two months ago that she had to break boards this time to advance. With her being gone to her dad's house for 4 weeks we had little time to practice board breaking. Then Thursday night we learned that she had to do her form plus the form of a lower colored belt. She hadn't practiced this at all and has forgotten most of her earlier forms because she has only been doing her brown belt form. Plus he (the instructor) changed associations last year and said she had to do the purple belt form which she was never a purple belt because the old school didn't have that level.
Now Chi is good at everything she does and has never learned what it is like to not be great at something. Until this morning. She was so worried about not knowing the purple belt form. But she wouldn't tell me. Her dad took her to practice on thursday so I didn't even know that she had to do this during testing. We arrived 30 minutes early to allow the kids to warm up and about 5 minutes before testing started she comes over to me and explained all this to me. I didn't understand what she was talking about because it was the first I had heard of it so I asked another parent and they confirmed her story - yes, she has to do her form plus another form. But it wouldn't be counted against her and she could do it with someone.
I walked over to her to explain all this to her because she was visibly nervous at this point. But when I got to her the instructor called time and started the testing which meant I couldn't talk to her. Her face was just breaking my heart. Her normal, confident self was hiding somewhere.
She did her form no problems then he called Alpha up and they did the purple form together. She was obviously watching and just following him and was doing well until about halfway through. She missed a step and just couldn't recover from it. She didn't finish the form.
She did her sparring drills and did ok. I could still tell she was nervous and therefore she wasn't as aggressive as she normally is.
The last thing was the board breaking. They get three tries. She touched the board and one of the judges cited her because they can't touch the boards once they start or it counts as a try. So she only had two tries and she only broke one of her two boards. This meant she automatically could not advance to the next belt.
I was so upset for her because I knew how much she wanted to advance this time. To be honest I was a little upset with both her dad and her instructor. Her dad for not bringing her to a single class during the 4 weeks they were with him and for her instructor for not better preparing her for testing. She didn't know she couldn't touch the board nor did she know about the second form until this week.
Taekwondo America rules state that after brown belt - no retesting is allowed. However, the instructor said since he was still in between schools and not officially affiliated with any schools at this present moment he would allow re-testing on Thursday. I think he realized that he, as an instructor, hadn't done a very good job because others had touched their boards too without knowing and about half did not pass testing.
But there is still a problem for Chi because starting Monday she has danceline practices. I called the sponsor and told her the situation - that she needed to miss this one practice and that this would be the only one this season. She said that was fine but if she misses a practice then she has to sit out the first game. I am going to let her decide which is more important to her.
I guess one could look at the situation and say that the good news is that Chi will learn a hard, yet valuable lesson. That you must work hard to get some things. Like I said in the beginning of this now Long post, Chi is good at everything. She never studies nor does she have to try hard to succeed at anything. But why is it as a parent we still don't want our kids to hurt even if we know it will make them stronger?
BTW - Alpha passed his testing with flying colors.
Hi everyone!
The headache finally went away around 9:30PM yesterday. Thanks for caring. I'm feeling loads better today.
. ;)
The kids had a good day at camp, and after I picked them up, we went to Target because I realized we have a birthday party tomorrow, but didn't have a gift, and then our neighbor's son's party is Wed., so I thought I'd get ahead on that. We also bought the school supplies. The list is tiny - the PATT group subsidized a lot - we don't even have to take pencils. Good for me, though!
Then, I went and paid for the repairs on the van. D & I will pick it up either tonight or tomorrow, but they're not open on the weekends, so I needed to make sure I got that done. D thinks he'll be home by 4:30ish, which is MUCH earlier than I anticipated, and I'm just not feeling ready to give up my "myself" time yet. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Oh, well.
We did find out for sure that he's off starting a week from today, not a week from tomorrow, so now I'm slightly panicking that we have 6 days until we leave - we'll start driving Thursday afternoon, then, assuming he doesn't get a trip that comes back late Thursday.
My neighbor came up with an extra pair of khaki pants and a sport coat - if my other neighbor has one, I'll have the boys their rehearsal dinner clothes without buying them! But we'll need to do something about shoes - the dress shoes we bought in Oct. for my grandpa's funeral no longer work. Sigh. Darn kids, growing and all...
Good luck with getting everything together for the trip. I'd just go to payless or Walmart and get some cheap but decent looking shoes for the kids.
Hello Fockers! I have been extremely busy but kinda reading along.
I booked a room only for next fall break (2010)
Tonight my brothers and sister are coming over and we are having a celebration for my mom. Today would have been her and dad's 45 wedding anniversary. My house is still a wreck and I don't have any food prepared. I am sure we will figure something out.
We have been very backed up at work. We have over 100 parts in engineering and between the three of us we average only 26 a month!
And speaking of engineering - I am going to speak with an academic advisor on Tuesday about getting my masters. But not in engineering LOL.
Today was DHs first off day at his new job where he now gets every friday off. He took the kids swimming. I am so jealous.
YAY for your trip!! I'm glad things are going well for your DH. I hope the family gathering was fun.
Evening All !! Home after a shortish day only 8 hours!! I got to fix breakfast for some and later a meeting where we are planning an Employee Game day !!The Theme is Food and we have such games as Jello slurp, Food Pictionary, Marshmallow Golf, Pie Throwing !!! etc etc !!After that I did some filing and called it a day !!! Been a while since I had such a quiet one !!!
Judy is off to the Mall still looking for sneakers for the girls !!According to Judy they already went to 17 stores and she was never taking them again!!According to Samantha it is not her fault they didn't have her size!!! I told Judy I wished they had that problem when I take them clothes shopping,they always find something !!
The food games sound fun and messy.
I had this posted as my FB status, so some might have already saw this.
My kid is weird. It's 80 some degrees here and he likes to go out and play in long pants and long sleeves. I don't get it and I ask him all the time if he would like to change and the answer is always NO!
Anyways, today he was outside playing (in long pants and long sleeves) and he must have picked up the cat. She got ticked off at him and bit him on the arm. He came inside crying to me and I was looking him over and noticed that one of her teeth was left in the sleeve of his shirt. I showed it to him and he then asks if we could put the tooth under the cat when she goes to sleep tonight so the Tooth Fairy could come. :lmao: I didn't have the heart to tell him no so it looks like I'm playing Tooth Fairy to a cat.
That is too cute! :rotfl2:
Hi ladies
:wave2:
Hiya, stranger!!!!
Hello all! I am sort of caught up, I skimmed and I read Kristel's update. (Thanks Kristel!!)
Things are good here. Rainy (finally) but good. I wish I had something exciting to talk about, but I don't.
Poor Janet. She'll be fine though. Her Dr is good. He caught it right away, which is fantastic. The drops he gave her will work. :hug:
Hugs to everyone else.
I'm going to eat breakfast!
MEL:banana:
Your welcome! Glad things are going well.
Good Morning Fockers!
Your welcome. Glad you are back. Sounds like things were a bit rough. Let us know when you get your TR groove on.
Morning! It sucks to be home. I slept until 9:30 and when I woke, I had a moment of panic, thinking I'd missed rope drop. Then I remembered: the only rope drop in my weekend is at the grocery store.
PS: Can you photoshop my big arm? It looks as big as my thigh! :lmao:
:rotfl2:
I dont' have to worry about the DDP- she's not coming anymore. After all the junk she's said and tried to pull, she's no longer invited. K has spoken! :rolleyes:
Good for him! If she'd be more of a polite guest instead of a dictator, everthing would have been fine. :hug:
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I decided to order the Sherpani Sport Pica for my park bag. It went on sale for $25 at Ebags. It has arrived!
Here it is next to my Baggallini Messenger bag to show the size difference.
bag002.jpg
Inside main compartment.
bag003.jpg
It has a large open side pocket on the interior.
Small zippered pocket on the front exterior flap.
bag004.jpg
The front flap is held in place with a plastic clip like what you find on dog collars.
bag006.jpg
bag007.jpg
There is a zippered pouch that runs behind the card slots. It is a deep pocket.
bag008.jpg
Card slots and pen holders.
bag009.jpg
A pouch on the opposite side holds a detachable key fob.
bag010.jpg
And a side pocket. I suppose this could be used for a cell phone. However has no closure. I don't think it is large enough for a small water bottle either.
bag011.jpg
The strap is extremely long and adjustable. The bag seems very sturdy. The material is not as thin as the Baggallini's.
I put everything in it today. I still have room for my camera and notebook. I think it will be perfect for this trip. :thumbs:
Talk at you later. :hippie:
Deb your a good momma. Good moms want their children to be happy. Chi is a strong little human being because of you. She will be fine. You will be fine. :goodvibes
Hiya everyone!
Welcome back to those who have returned!
I woke up this morning with my throat so swollen I couldn't barely breath. Not so much fun. But after lots of Advil and sleep and rest I feel better.
I have a friggin call in shift tomorrow and they better not need me because i need sleep more.
The concert was so much more fun than i thought it would be! I really had a great time. We got home at like 3am but it was fun for sure.
Tonight I made Rachel Rays chicken thigh pie...it was soooo good! I'm thinking we need to crack open the ben and jerrys in the freezer soon too. chocolate macadamia nut. yum.
Anyways hope you all have a great weekend! :hug:
I wanted to comment on your new bags! I have the exact same hipster in Bali Blue and I love it! It goes with everything! Oh and I saw a girl with a small backpack in Purple Punch, and I have to admit, I didn't like the color on the internet, but I loved it IRL. It's really, really nice. :thumbsup2 I'm sure you'll just love them both.
I'm glad he said she wasn't invited too, but I had to be the one that told her. :headache: I'll be the one she's ugly to too. :sad2:
I'm sorry. :hug: But you'll have a fabulous trip! :thumbsup2
Whoa, it's SUPER slow around here. Where'd everyone go? Oh, that's right... Janet's heading to Florida and Jo's gone.... it's going to be real quiet around here. ;)
Deb your a good momma. Good moms want their children to be happy. Chi is a strong little human being because of you. She will be fine. You will be fine. :goodvibes
Thanks Kristel.
I have the exact same Baggalinni. I thought it was a little big this last trip and it was too tempting to fill it up. I like your smaller one and will keep it in mind when I am in the market for a new park bag.
Hi rosie!
Deb - WTG Alpha! Sorry to hear Chi didn't do so well though. It's a good thing on letting her chose on which she wants to do.
Thanks Lori. she went to her dad's today. I will have to explain it to her tomorrow and let her decide.
I'm glad he said she wasn't invited too, but I had to be the one that told her. :headache: I'll be the one she's ugly to too. :sad2:
