Jo, does Jess think her dad looks like Chandler?
Hi, all - I read up (thankfully not too bad) but didn't quote. It was kind of a crazy two days and now today's all messed up, too.
Let's see - Kate, I'm SO sorry I missed your birthday! Hope it was great!

Kat - glad you're talking things out.
Mel - good luck to SD, the party sounds great...
Rosie - good luck with the appointments.
Angela - wow. Poor folks.
Dawn - have fun with your company!
T - it will be great when it's done, hang in there.

Kristel - surprise presents sound good - you sound busy!
Z - glad you get to go!
Lori - good luck with the math!
Jen - we have a ways to go yet, too - but I'm gone to IL for most of it, so it's not so bad.

We start back 9/2.
Sorry if I missed anyone...

D went up to the boat Saturday whilst the boys went to their b-day party. When they got back, they played with the neighbor all afternoon. Then the mom called and asked if we wanted to join them around their fire pit after dinner. We had a great evening just hanging out and chatting - but the kids were up pretty late, and it was iffy the next morning.
Sunday we went up to the boat. It started a little sunny, but quickly turned cloudy and never even got up to 70 - some August, huh? We didn't want to swim or even drive around the lake much, so we came in off the lake by 3:00 and went mini golfing instead.

We ate dinner out afterward and by the time we got home - not too late at all - the kids had fallen asleep.
Yesterday, it was supposed to be 89, and D had an actual day off (meaning he's not on call at all) and so we went back up to the lake. My pilot friend is away, but her DH and the girls came up with us. We packed a lunch, had dinner on the boat, and didn't get home until after 10:30.
I'm REALLY freaking out some because we leave for IL on Thursday afternoon, assuming D doesn't get some trip that gets him back late Thursday night (which is a possibility, as his vacation doesn't start until Friday, but it's not too likely...) and today has turned into a crapshoot. Plus, I've started to realize that I will have only two days before school starts when I get back from my mom's - the boys and I are staying in IL an extra 5 days to go to my parents' house. It's not that I have that much to get ready, but this means these are some of my last summer days at home, at all!
I started getting texts on the lake yesterday from the tennis pro. He had something come up - he needed to move my 4:00 class for today to 5:30, could I do that? I said no - D is heading to his office, doesn't think he'll be home by the time I'd need to leave, and that's too late to make the kids wait around for dinner or whatever if I'd have to take them. So, he said I could come to the 10:30 class this morning, which I'll do - if only because I've already paid for the month.
Then, he sent another message, oh, by the way, the kids need to come at 3:30 instead of 3:00. My tennis friend with the girl twins was going to bring her girls, play in the 4:00 class, then we were going to her house for fast food dinner to just have some time with them before we go. Plus, they got a puppy on Sunday and we'd like to see him.

But that's all up in the air - she couldn't do the 5:30, either, but the girls are still coming to the 3:30 with the boys, but then it won't be dinner time yet when that's over...
I still have the shoe situation. I don't know what to do about my own hair. The dark, almost black, burgundy color that I loved when I did it has faded ridiculously in the sun. I actually LIKE the color it faded to, but I am getting some pretty good dark and gray roots, and I have no idea if there's any way to match to the faded color. I maybe should go back to my normal basic dark brown to get the roots and cover the sun fade, but since I
like the sun faded color...

Horrible problem, huh?
I'll need to hit the grocery store for road trip snacks, the boys have a birthday party tomorrow night, today is looking kind of crazed... I'm a mess. I think maybe that after my 10:30 class, then - which ends at noon - I'll take the boys to look for shoes. D thinks they need brown, not black, for the rehearsal dinner, and oh, yeah, he needs to take them and him to get measured for tuxes tonight when he gets back from work (they'll just hit a Men's Wearhouse, I guess...)
GAH!
So, I need to get my duff off the computer and get moving.
If you have a TR and I'm not around, I'm sorry. I'm trying to catch up here and there, but not always commenting, and some I'm just behind on.

I am taking my computer to IL and MIL has good wifi, so I will check in and catch up whilst we're gone. I'm sure I'll feel the need to hide sometimes.
