Hey everybody :goodvibes Thanks again for the birthday wishes. I had a good day. My DH and boys made me an awesome cake...I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

I tried to sell some books this morning at a used book sale. No dice. But I did manage to sell our extra Wii Fit, so that's out of the closet. I'm expecting curriculum this week, so I'm off to clear off bookshelves in an effort to make space for the new arrivals.

I hope everyone is having a happy Monday! :flower3:

Good Morning, Fockers!

Well, we finally got the kitchen all packed up and we're ready for the demo tomorrow. I had a major anxiety attack yesterday and was so ready to just change my mind. The way our house is set up, with the construction going on, our great room will not be easily accessable and that's our main living area. :faint: I'm freaking out about being stuck in our bedrooms, formal living room, and office.

At least I don't have to cook. :teeth:

I'm off to Target to get some plastic forks, spoons, etc. and lots and lots of liquid courage. ;)

Have a great Monday! :flower3:

T.

Good Luck through it all, T! Make sure to take pics of the progress!

The girls have got to clear their rooms this week, well Jess cleared her wardrobe today and found loads of games and they've spent ages playing them not cleaning :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Lori- I'm sending good wishes for a great grade!

I'm amazed at how many kids are heading back to school! We still have just under a month out for us.

Tink had dance camp this AM. She was in class with 5-7 year olds and I think she was more on task than everyone in the class. :thumbsup2

I'm in a cleaning mood. I have been working on the entire house.... Windows, floors, carpets, blinds, fridge, cupboards and on and on. Summer is finally here and it came with a vengeance! It went from 70- low eighties with low humidity to high 80-90's with high humidity in just a few hours! I shouldn't complain, since the summer really has been pleasant thus far.

Lindsey doesn't start until 8/26 or 8/27 and DR doesn't start until 8/31 so we have some time still. I can't wait though!

Yay to Tink and dance class! :)

Good Luck with the cleaning and our weather has gotten hot and humid as well. We must be getting your storms because we've had bad ones all evening. I don't mind it but the dog does and is hiding under my feet as I type.

:cool1: I'd love a walk in closet.

I'm so excited for it! LOL My clothes are in 3 closets at the moment so it will be nice to have them all in once place. Plus now I'll have the room to buy ahead for the kids and have some place to store it as well.

Good luck on the test! Happy Monday!

:goodvibes Thanks Kat!

Oh lord has it been a loooong few days. Some arguing with KC, bi time. He holds things in too much and when he decides to let it out he goes to the extreme. So we spent all of last night talking it out and things are looking better. We are trying to set aside time every week so we can talk more from the heart and not let it build up. I can't go on this roller coaster anymore- it needs to be fixed.

So today I am just catching up on the crap-top (sloooowly) and relaxing. KC is working from home so we can continue our talking some more. Dinner is alread made because I cooked like a madwoman yesterday. I made sauce and meatballs and tuna burgers for lunches and an orzo salad too. I don't work again till Wed so it's sure to me a nice mellow week. I hope. {knock on wood}

Hope you have a relaxing few days and glad you and KC were able to talk things out.

Ooopppss...hit enter too soon, plus the kids were wanting me to help them build some kind of Hot Wheels race track thing.

OMG! This math class I'm taking is KILLING me! I was doing so well until today. LOL We are having a test on Wednesday and I just hope to pass it. A girl from my class is coming over tomorrow so we can study and have a playdate with our kids. I stayed after class today and thank goodness that I did. I would have been totally lost tomorrow if I didn't.

Other than that not much going on here. Rain and thunderstorms are coming thru here and my kids have re-discovered their love of Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels.

Have a good night everyone!

J- you know about the swine flu (her child possibly)+ her aunt died while she was there.
L-baby in the hospital with urinary tract infection.
R-thought she had a stroke, but ended up being pinched nerve.
C-was bike riding her bike with boyfriend. Fell into a road construction hole that was as tall as she is…she is fine only bruises and scrapes.

I'm lost. Are these TFW peeps?

that sounds so familiar

Me too! The last three weeks I cleaned out all the kids rooms and closets, unpacked some boxes (yes we have been here two years) and hung some pictures. I figure I need to take advantage of my motivation while it lasts

This is what's going on in Mitch's office today. I am sorry for all of them and thankful M and I aren't dealing with anything as serious.
that is a lot of drama for one office

OOps! Happy Belated Birthday!!

OMG! This math class I'm taking is KILLING me! I was doing so well until today.
Hang in there

Do (did) any of your children get their words confused and insist they were right? Tau gets 'ugly' and 'handsome' confused all the time. Whenever I comb his hair and say "you are so handsome" he gets mad and says "I not handsome mommy. I ugly" He has been doing this since he was 18 months old. Now he wont give up until I agree with him and say that yes he is ugly.

I have to admit it is kinda funny. But I can't convince him that handsome = good and ugly = bad.

I also hung some pictures up in the hallway this weekend. He goes down teh hallway and points "that's alpha, that's Chi..." and when he gets to himself he says "And that's not me"

I told him that yes that is him and he says "No, I ugly mama. That's not me"

I have crazy kids. But I  them.

Jo- Did the girls ever get to the cleaning?
It's a work in progress :rotfl2:

Sorry if I missed anyone...

*****************************************************
D went up to the boat Saturday whilst the boys went to their b-day party. When they got back, they played with the neighbor all afternoon. Then the mom called and asked if we wanted to join them around their fire pit after dinner. We had a great evening just hanging out and chatting - but the kids were up pretty late, and it was iffy the next morning.

Sunday we went up to the boat. It started a little sunny, but quickly turned cloudy and never even got up to 70 - some August, huh? We didn't want to swim or even drive around the lake much, so we came in off the lake by 3:00 and went mini golfing instead. :thumbsup2 We ate dinner out afterward and by the time we got home - not too late at all - the kids had fallen asleep.

Yesterday, it was supposed to be 89, and D had an actual day off (meaning he's not on call at all) and so we went back up to the lake. My pilot friend is away, but her DH and the girls came up with us. We packed a lunch, had dinner on the boat, and didn't get home until after 10:30.

I'm REALLY freaking out some because we leave for IL on Thursday afternoon, assuming D doesn't get some trip that gets him back late Thursday night (which is a possibility, as his vacation doesn't start until Friday, but it's not too likely...) and today has turned into a crapshoot. Plus, I've started to realize that I will have only two days before school starts when I get back from my mom's - the boys and I are staying in IL an extra 5 days to go to my parents' house. It's not that I have that much to get ready, but this means these are some of my last summer days at home, at all! :scared1:

I started getting texts on the lake yesterday from the tennis pro. He had something come up - he needed to move my 4:00 class for today to 5:30, could I do that? I said no - D is heading to his office, doesn't think he'll be home by the time I'd need to leave, and that's too late to make the kids wait around for dinner or whatever if I'd have to take them. So, he said I could come to the 10:30 class this morning, which I'll do - if only because I've already paid for the month. ;)

Then, he sent another message, oh, by the way, the kids need to come at 3:30 instead of 3:00. My tennis friend with the girl twins was going to bring her girls, play in the 4:00 class, then we were going to her house for fast food dinner to just have some time with them before we go. Plus, they got a puppy on Sunday and we'd like to see him. ;) But that's all up in the air - she couldn't do the 5:30, either, but the girls are still coming to the 3:30 with the boys, but then it won't be dinner time yet when that's over...

I still have the shoe situation. I don't know what to do about my own hair. The dark, almost black, burgundy color that I loved when I did it has faded ridiculously in the sun. I actually LIKE the color it faded to, but I am getting some pretty good dark and gray roots, and I have no idea if there's any way to match to the faded color. I maybe should go back to my normal basic dark brown to get the roots and cover the sun fade, but since I like the sun faded color... :rotfl2: Horrible problem, huh? :rotfl:

I'll need to hit the grocery store for road trip snacks, the boys have a birthday party tomorrow night, today is looking kind of crazed... I'm a mess. I think maybe that after my 10:30 class, then - which ends at noon - I'll take the boys to look for shoes. D thinks they need brown, not black, for the rehearsal dinner, and oh, yeah, he needs to take them and him to get measured for tuxes tonight when he gets back from work (they'll just hit a Men's Wearhouse, I guess...)

GAH!

So, I need to get my duff off the computer and get moving.

If you have a TR and I'm not around, I'm sorry. I'm trying to catch up here and there, but not always commenting, and some I'm just behind on. ;) I am taking my computer to IL and MIL has good wifi, so I will check in and catch up whilst we're gone. I'm sure I'll feel the need to hide sometimes. :rolleyes1

Hi Fockers! I'm coming up for air in this jam-packed week. :faint: WHY did I think it wise to schedule two week-long vacations with a work week in between them?!?!

On top of the work stress, the ex is giving me fits. Yes, he's still going to Idaho... if he can find someone to give him money to get there. The jerk dropped off Leo after their final weekend together and brought about 10 boxes of toys, clothes, etc. with him. Also, a hermit crab. Then, he gave me a whole sob story about how they don't have any money and his parents' house is being foreclosed on, and if only I'd drop my case against him for owing child support, all would be well. PUH-lease. Not a chance. The idiot is 3 months late, so I've been doing without funds that I normally count on, and he owes more than $10K from past times he stopped paying. Sorry dude - I've found ways to manage, you can too.

In other news, a tropical storm is brewing off Africa. Good times down here folks, lol!

I never got over here Sun. or Mon. so a very belated...

:hug::hug: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!!! :hug::hug:

Jo, does Jess think her dad looks like Chandler? :lmao:
No and she even bought 17 again with him in it today :rotfl2: And phew :faint: on all your other stuff, hope the hair colour works out :rotfl2: lots of tennis changes and don't worry you'll get everything done

You can do it :thumbsup2

 V. I'm so sorry about the ex and I would be so mad as well. I'm in the same boat with my ex so I know the feeling. I know you won't, but don't back down.

*****************************************************

Not much going on today. I need to clean up the house some and the kids and I have a study/playdate later this afternoon. I'm hoping the backyard will dry up some so the kids can go outside to play, if not they will be stuck inside the entire time.

Back to doing :laundy:

Hope y'all have a good Tuesday!

Oh, goodness. Now D suddenly has to go to Ireland tonight. So, instead of me just taking the kids to look for shoes, we are all heading for the mall so they can get measured before he goes. They ate airlining him back on Thursday, but we don't know what time. So, our plansay be totally changing. Work might end up flying him straight to Chicago and I would drive alone, or he may get here late and we'll just back up the drive. Sigh.

Slowly but surely yea, its getting better. thanks.

I use a root touch up instead of dying and it blends really well with my regular hair color. It's "Nice-n-Easy".

Man I am dying to get back on a normal schedule again. I officially can't stay up late anymore.

Things with KC are getting better. We still have some things to talk through but its working itself out. Once we talked we both felt the stress and disconnect lift so it got progressively better from there.

How can I break him of the habit of holding things back?!

Anyone dealt with this before? He gets so stressed but holds it in and then when he lets it out hes so extreme he freaks me out. I can't go through this once or twice a year because he can't speak his mind. We are only married 5 years this Feb and I want to make sure we fix this now so we can be happy and I don't always wonder if the other shoe is going to drop.

Anyways. Today i am going to head to the city because I have a day off and don't really wanna stay home and do nothing. I am going to find the mobile cupcake truck, and bring a few to KC at work when i pick him up. It looks like a beautiful day out so it should be a good day. I'm also hoping being out will help me sleep tonight since I have to be up at 6:30am to go to work tomorrow.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Been there, done that, bought the shirt.

Andy's the same EXACT way, Kat. He pretty much doesn't complain about anything, but when he does, WATCH OUT! We went through a REALLY bad time about 5-6 years into our marriage and did separate for 8ish months. For me, I had to force him to talk about things, how he felt about certain situations, etc. We were lucky enough to work it out and sure, we still have to work to keep the peace, but that's just our marriage. I do what I can to make him happy and vice versa. Take a little time every night for some "pillow talk". :goodvibes

Well, my kitchen is completely GUTTED! The electrician is here upgrading everything to code and energy efficient (sp?). Tomorrow it's plumbing day and then I don't know what's after that! :confused3

Hey :rotfl2:

Well, my kitchen is completely GUTTED! The electrician is here upgrading everything to code and energy efficient (sp?). Tomorrow it's plumbing day and then I don't know what's after that! :confused3
So what colour did you choose???

Went for my first training run today, Ellie cycled and Jess ran too. We walked for a minute then ran for a few minutes, walked 1, ran couple etc etc. Thing was I wore capris that were a little loose and they kept fallin down I literally had to run whilst holding them up :rotfl2:

I could have swore I replied earlier but I guess not. Let's see what I remeber...

CE - Sorry about D's work. Hope he can get back on time and everything works out.

Kat - No advice on KC since I'm the type who bottles it all up and then releases. It's something that I'm working on personally and have done better over the past few years...especially with the ex. Marriage really is a lot of work. And YUM! to the whole cupcake thing.

T - Nope, my kids haven't started back yet. Lindsey starts on either 8/26 or 8/27. I don't know if I'll be sending DR to preschool this year. I can't afford both daycare and preschool. I know I'll definately do daycare but might just work with him at home. If he does go it'll be on 8/31. I'm heading over to the TR next. :thumbsup2 And yay to the kitchen demo. Hopefully it will be over a lot sooner than you thought.

Jo - WTG on the walk/jog but :rotfl: to the pants.
