Good morning everyone!! We're back!

Got home last night around 6 - what a long drive! I still can't quite understand how we moved 9 hrs SW of our NC home and it still takes 7 hrs to get to WDW from here. It's just not fair:headache:

Michael starts 3rd grade this morning and the poor thing is so nervous. Between a new school and a new afterschool/daycare program, both starting today, he's a wreck. I feel terrible for him.

We had an amazing trip though and I can't wait to write my TR. OMG it was HOT!! But it was awesome!

Went back a couple of pages to try and catch up and glad to see Janet's feeling better! Nothing like that pre-trip sickness, huh? Why do we all get sick before a trip? :confused3

And Dawn, I saw your posts about your trip and your mom...:hug:. I totally understand what you're going through...stay strong and stand your ground!! We actually have told very few family members that we're DVC owners because of things like that...If you recall Cruella & Horace from the worlds' worst trip in 2006, family members can destroy a trip and a trip can destroy the relationship.

I get guilt for NOT inviting people along and then when I do invite people along, I'm expecting to pay for EVERYTHING. Family vacation drama stinks:headache:. Oh - and so does when your friends don't quite understand why you can't let them "use your timeshare":sad2:

Well, I have to go fold some laundry - have a great day Fockers!!

:hug: Poor thing. But I bet he'll love it once he's there.

Did I tell you that Jimmy is on an anti-biotic too? He had dental work done on Tuesday and he chewed up the inside of his lip so badly (When he had no feeling) that when he woke up yesterday his lip was the size of an apple:eek: Jim took him to the doctor and she didn't see an infection, but she wanted to prevent one so she put him on anti-biotic and also gave us liquid lidocaine in case it hurt. Can anything else possible go wrong before this trip:headache:
Yuck, Janet. Think "I am seeing Mickey soon" and it'll all feel better. ;)

It seems like I'm not way off base here. I'm glad to hear I'm not hateful and selfish like my mom would like me think. :snooty:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Baylie just left for her last day of dance team camp. We go for the show off later today. That'll be fun.
Other than that I need to grocery shop and get my house ready for my family to come on Sunday. :laundy:
So, that's the dress I bought... And I got it for $34! :lmao:
Looks lovely CE and great price :thumbsup2
:So, I think the doctor I went to on Monday (not my regular doctor, I took the whoever is avaialbale appointment:sad2:) is a quack. I have spent the last 2 days in bed but I think I'm okay now, except...I think I have pink eye:headache: The quack told me the red eyes were becasue of the cold. I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow.
Oh no, hope it clears quickly and porr Jimmy!
Good morning everyone!! We're back!
Welcome back LL, can't wait to read what trouble you all got into without me :rotfl2:
Stand your ground :hug: Have fun at the dance!
Where's Deb and Mel been???
Just back from seeing Harry Potter and I thought it was so boring, I've loved all the books and the films so far but this film was just slow and no action :sad2: We're now off to see Mum and have fish & chips!
Oh anyone wanting to follow a good Twitter person for Disney follow DisneyParks as that's the official news breaker :thumbsup2
Hey all. I skimmed but I'm beat.
The harry Potter Movie thing was fun albeit a bit weird. I forgot that people are really hardcore fan types. They were nice people, but getting asked "Which house I'm in" was a bit funny to me and I didn't want to insult anyone. I twas just TOO long of a day tho, from work to walking the city to watching the movie.
Tonight is KC's friends concert/show. I have never seen him before and am excited BUT I'm still tired. Last night my muscles gave out on my before bed and the spasming was bad, so I am not exactly looking fwd to standing up at a club all evening.
BUT I am off tomorrow and plan to spend most of the day soaking in the tub until i wrinkle. Hopefully it'll help.
So who's done the grand Floridan tea and what do I need to know? I booked it got the Oct trip as a just girls thing for me and L & H while them men go off and have some beer at Big River.
I need to wake KC and order some chinese lunch specials because I am famished!
Good morning everyone!! We're back!
Hi LL! Glad to hear you guys had a great trip and can't wait to read the TR. :hug: to Michael. I'm sure he'll have a great time once he's there.
I saw Harry Potter while the kids were gone and liked it but do agree with you that it was boring in parts. I definately thought the ending, with the big fight scene, would have been a lot better.
Not much happening today. Laundry and cleaning. That's about it. My weekend will be boring as well. I'm hoping the kids can talk my dad in going to the zoo or something fun.
My dad decided today that he is retiring and moving to FL. I guess it'll be next week, or the following, heck maybe even in a month. :confused3 Either way he's moving and happy about it. I'm happy for him as well. The kids are excited since they equal FL to Disney World. :rotfl: I told them Pappy will be living by the beach and they didn't care about that, just about Disney. Is that a good thing or bad??? :confused3 :rotfl2: I need to start saving money for a trip down to see him so the kids can hit their favorite place in the world. ;)
That's all I know. Have a good friday everyone!
Hey all. I skimmed but I'm beat.
Hi Kat! That is funny about the Harry Potter thing. It's been such a long time since the books and movies started that I too forget that there are die hard Potter fans out there. Sorry about the legs and muscles though. It sounds like no fun. Hope you do have a nice relaxing weekend.
Hey all. Just a quick drive by, becasue I'm not supposed to be on the computer. SO, I don't have pink eye. I have Iriscitius (sp). Basically I have the same thing Mel has. Pressure on the tissue behind the eyes. The doctor said 90% of the time it's not caused by anything, but it's the other 10% they get concerned about. (Glaucoma, Lyme disease, diabetes)
He gave me 2 sets of drops. One I have to do every hour today, every 3 hours tomorrow and SUnday, then 4 times a day until I see him again (8/19). The other one is 4x per day.
I already called Mel for moral support:hug:
On the plus side it isn't preventing our trip, so all systems are go for Sunday. Since My sight is limited though I probably won't be back before we leave on Sunday. So have a great weekeveryone and I will see you when we get back!
Have a great trip.
Happy Friday!!
I’ve been fighting a migraine since yesterday afternoon. It’s enough to make feel nauseous every once in a while.
DAWN’s mom wants to use Dawn’s newly-acquired DVC points to her advantage. “I told her that we’d miss her”-Dawn
That is classic and wonderful! Stick to your guns, sweetie!!! She can go some other time.
It’s like hitting the lottery - everybody and their brother comes out of the woodwork with their hands out.
CEL BEL has been studying and fighting for financial aid.
I hope your appeal goes in your favor.:hug:
KAT has been sore and tired. She wants info. on the GF tea.
:hug:
ROSIE says that Judy’s ex didn’t show for the court hearing. Rosie scored some great deals at Aero.:woohoo:
CE bought a new dress for $34!
It looks terrific! What a deal!!
LORI is having fun with the kids.--(NOT) Her dad is moving to Florida.
Hey, it’s still that much closer to the Motherland!
JANET has Iriscitus. Pressure on the tissues behind the eye. It can be nothing or serious. She has to do drops every day. Jimmy chewed up the inside his lip after a dental visit and is on an antibiotic.
Have a great trip. I hope the eye pressure is temporary. :hug:
LL is back. She said it was hot. They had a great time. Michael is a wreck with starting the 3rd grade.
I'm glad you had a wonderful time!
Poor baby! He just needs to settle in. :hug:
JO didn’t like the HP movie.
I thought it was a bit of a let-down also. It was just a lead into the next 2 movies. Nothing very outstanding took place. I told my DH since they were already splitting the last book into 2 parts, they should have just added the hightlights from this movie to them.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I have to work tonight and all weekend. Things are slow because the plant will be shut down for maintenance starting the 17th. Mostly clean up work going on right now.
I'm gonna go drink a big glass of water and lay down. Dang headache!
I hope everyone has a splendid weekend.
:goodvibes
Thanks!
BUT I am off tomorrow and plan to spend most of the day soaking in the tub until i wrinkle. Hopefully it'll help.
Take it easy. :hug:
Wow - I bet you'll miss him. But FL is a good place to have a relative. ;)
DON'T READ THIS :rotfl: but hope it's nothing too awful for you. :hug:
The kids had a good day at camp, and after I picked them up, we went to Target because I realized we have a birthday party tomorrow, but didn't have a gift, and then our neighbor's son's party is Wed., so I thought I'd get ahead on that. We also bought the school supplies. The list is tiny - the PATT group subsidized a lot - we don't even have to take pencils. :confused: Good for me, though!
Then, I went and paid for the repairs on the van. D & I will pick it up either tonight or tomorrow, but they're not open on the weekends, so I needed to make sure I got that done. D thinks he'll be home by 4:30ish, which is MUCH earlier than I anticipated, and I'm just not feeling ready to give up my "myself" time yet. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Oh, well.
We did find out for sure that he's off starting a week from today, not a week from tomorrow, so now I'm slightly panicking that we have 6 days until we leave - we'll start driving Thursday afternoon, then, assuming he doesn't get a trip that comes back late Thursday. :eek:
My neighbor came up with an extra pair of khaki pants and a sport coat - if my other neighbor has one, I'll have the boys their rehearsal dinner clothes without buying them! But we'll need to do something about shoes - the dress shoes we bought in Oct. for my grandpa's funeral no longer work. Sigh. Darn kids, growing and all... ;)
That's really about all I know. Hope everyone is having a nice Friday! :grouphug:
Hello Fockers! I have been extremely busy but kinda reading along.
Rosie, Hugs to you and Judy. I know the divorce courts all too well.
Dawn, don't feel badly about your decision. It is your money and you purchased DVC for your family to use.
CE, Awesome dress :thumbsup2
Kat, I haven't done the GF tea but it is on my list for next year. Please tell me how it goes.
I booked a room only for next fall break (2010) :banana: :banana:
Tonight my brothers and sister are coming over and we are having a celebration for my mom. Today would have been her and dad's 45 wedding anniversary. My house is still a wreck and I don't have any food prepared. I am sure we will figure something out.
We have been very backed up at work. We have over 100 parts in engineering and between the three of us we average only 26 a month!
And speaking of engineering - I am going to speak with an academic advisor on Tuesday about getting my masters. But not in engineering LOL.
Today was DHs first off day at his new job where he now gets every friday off. He took the kids swimming. I am so jealous.
Evening All !! Home after a shortish day only 8 hours!! Hey, it’s still that much closer to the Motherland!
He's moving to the Ft. Myers area and will be about 3 hours from there. I'm sure the kids can persuade Pappy to take them one day while we are there visiting. ;)
Wow - I bet you'll miss him. But FL is a good place to have a relative. ;)
Yes...the kids will miss him very much! and your right, I'm not complaining that much about his move because it could be worse. LOL
:wave: Hi Deb & Rosie!
*******************************************************
I had this posted as my FB status, so some might have already saw this.
My kid is weird. It's 80 some degrees here and he likes to go out and play in long pants and long sleeves. I don't get it and I ask him all the time if he would like to change and the answer is always NO!
Anyways, today he was outside playing (in long pants and long sleeves) and he must have picked up the cat. She got ticked off at him and bit him on the arm. He came inside crying to me and I was looking him over and noticed that one of her teeth was left in the sleeve of his shirt. I showed it to him and he then asks if we could put the tooth under the cat when she goes to sleep tonight so the Tooth Fairy could come. :lmao: I didn't have the heart to tell him no so it looks like I'm playing Tooth Fairy to a cat. :lmao:
Hello all! I am sort of caught up, I skimmed and I read Kristel's update. (Thanks Kristel!!)
Things are good here. Rainy (finally) but good. I wish I had something exciting to talk about, but I don't.
Poor Janet. She'll be fine though. Her Dr is good. He caught it right away, which is fantastic. The drops he gave her will work. :hug:
Hugs to everyone else.
I'm going to eat breakfast!
MEL:banana:
Good Morning Fockers! :wave2:
Well we're home, after a fantastic trip and the traveling day from hell. :sad2:
All I'll say, it was an ummmmm... interesting trip, not one I'd like to ever repeat. Waldo was as wandering as ever and throw in TE in her wacky soapbox racing scooter - it was insanity... sheer insanity. :headache:
Hope everyone's doing well, I didn' even get to skim, but did use Kristel's update (thanks hon!) - I'll be back later to catch up (sort of) - but first... I need COFFEE!!!! :surfweb:
