Can't wait to hear about the trip!

Good Evening Ladies. We are back from our weekend at my cousins and I need a day off from my days off. We went on the boat and watched the fireworks on Lake St Clair, visited the Detroit Zoo, had a BBQ at my cousins involving tequila shots, toured Henry Ford Museum, and watch my niece and nephew while my db and his wife went to MGM Casino for dinner. I am tired and sore and need some sleep. I took 160 photos this weekend. We had a wonderful Greek meal today before we headed home. I love Greek food.
I see as always there are just a couple of pages to read . You all should really loosen up and talk a little .

Jon had a minor "moment" tonight. I think it hit him that we are really moving.

My dad...who he calls "lilo" (he couldn't say abuelito when he was little)...is the only father Jon has ever known. My father, who has many health issues...was living with us in Clovis.

Tonight...it apparently all became too much for Jon to handle...and he broke down in sobs...saying how much he missed his "lilo"...who he sometimes refers to as his "lilo-dad."

Am I doing the right thing by moving him here? I'm doing it for his health...and to give him better educational opportunities.

But...what if it's wrong?

I just need a few hugs...and then I'll be all right.

Oh Jen! Of course you're doing the right thing; I think I know you well enough by now to be certain you've weighed every possibility and found this move to be the best course for you both. I love Mel's ideas about wyas to stay in touch. Will they also be able to visit reasonably often? Change is hard, but Jon is learning the skills to cope with it - good stuff for later on in life.

You are doing the right thing Jen, Jon needs to be near good hospitals and if the schools are better too, that's even more reason! As others have said could Lilo move too? Also could you set up webcams or skype so Jon can see his Lilo whilst he talks?

Been to the Mall all day trying to find some Birthday presents for David, he bought a pair of shorts, yeah that's a good pressie I did manage to at long last find a swimsuit though, it's plain brown so boring but at least it fits

Jen2- I was going to ask about Lilo moving too. It's hard to move. I know it was a big thing for B when we moved here.

I'm not feeling chatty much the last few days. Today is my last day to have solid food for the week. My friend and I are going to lunch with the kids for my last hurrah. I've been so sick to my stomach, I probably won't enjoy it anyway.

So, nothing going on here. I have almost everything crossed off my list of things to do by Friday except working on my TR and Flat Dawn. I also need to get the puppy's nails trimmed. I don't need those claws jumping on me when I get home!

What's everyone else up to today?

I can have only liquids for 48 hours before the surgery. On Day one (tomorrow) I can have milk products, jello, and broth. But on day two (Wed) I can't have any milk products and it has to be clear liquid only.

Oh well. I'm so glad to see the finish line, I'll be happy to be getting closer!

Jen first a big and have a to help put a smile on your face. There is no doubt this will be hard on you and your son. You are both leaving your home and even though you are moving close to your mom you are leaving behind others that you love. I know you gave this move a lot of thought and you know that your son's health is the most important thing. He needs to be closer to the hospitals and he will adjust. I also wonder if Lilo can make the move once you are set up in your new home. If not lots of phone calls, letters, and pictures will help ease the transition. You and your son are very brave for taking on this new adventure.

Of course you are doing the right thing! Moms know everything, right? It can't be easy to move, esp with a kiddo, but I know you'll get through it and so will Jon!

OK...so not much that I missed today then.

I finished reading the 2nd book in the Twilight Series today...New Moon...and holy crap...I'm addicted.

So, then, I looked up the trailer for the upcoming movie...and hot damm...the dude who plays Edward is gawgeous!

I'll take up my time reading...so that I don't have time to mope. This moving thing is harder than I thought it would be!

I am "re-reading" New Moon myself (audiobooks). I soaked up all the trailers for the movie and I am so annoyed its so darn far from now! The guy playing Edward is pretty hot!

Oops. Forgot that my dh had a question for Kat. What realm does KC play on? Is he horde or alliance? Dorks.

When he plays on the paid service (he has a server his friends set up he uses too) he plays on Hellscream as Alliance. He just discovered a game he started out playing (similar to WoW) called Tantra is free to pay now so he may go back to that , for this week anyways.

Just cleaning up today, changing the sheets I think, and sweeping. I'm cooking in the crock pot today so thats nice and easy and I am going to try and recreate Rice Cream from Norway (a recipe from the Disney cookbook i got for my b-day). Thats about it. I like a quiet Monday.

I HATE VERIZON!!!!!! 35 minutes on hold to dipute some crazy charge on my bill and the guy has the nerve to say I made the calls that resulted in the charges.... HOW can that be when NO ONE was home at those times? "Well ma'am, you must have because the charge is on your bill." Me: "So you're telling me that Verizon has never made a mistake in billing? Ever?!?!
"I'll remove those charges this one time as a courtesy."

They don't even train the idiots to say "I'm sorry" when a mistake's been made any more.

Ugh, V I feel for ya. SOmething similar happened with our cable (Comcast ) several years ago. We got a charge for a pay per view "adult" movie. Not mine and Jim's thing if you know what I mean. Anyway Jim called to dispute it (It was only $6, but it was the principle of the thing) and they said the same thing to him. Mind you the movie was ordered at 1:30 in the afternoon. Jim and I were at work and Jimmy was 6 months old at day care. The CS rep siad the same thing to Jim, our box, etc...Jim told him that Jimmy must have crawled home from daycare without anyonw noticing and ordered it. They said the same thing about removing it this one time as a courtesy....CS seems to get worse and worse - EVERYWHERE!
