Actually, Jo, I have found myself saying "whilst" in conversation lately---which results in strange looks from the other mountain folk!
You need to also say chucking it down and they'll definitely think you've flipped :rotfl2: Oh and where are the pup photos?

Jo I knew you would notice "V' spelling of COLOUR!!
Love the Gay Paree.. pix ! I actually never went to Paris but was in France for the day I believe it was Calais!! Have been to Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland , Italy, Spain and Yugoslavia though!!

You are exactly right! And tell Tink I said hi and she is exactly right too! LOL And great pics from over the weekend! What two little cutie pies you have!

Just a warning if your PC crashes it will take all your photos with it, please put them onto disc, we lost some, luckily not many, a few years ago!

Thanks Jo! That even served as a warning to me as well. Our last computer crashed and a lot of my pics were lost. I need to back up the ones I have on my new compter as well!

CE - Great pics of Paris! How many days were you there?

This photograph is really nice.

Thanks, I'll tell D. :goodvibes

So, how well do you speak French? I would be really intimidated at the thought of not speaking the language...and the idea of trying to order food!?!?!? Forget it.

It really looks like a beautiful city.

Not well at all. I took Spanish in h.s. from a woman who talked about her dogs, horses, kids and DH - IN ENGLISH. :rotfl2: But since I'd had 4 years of language I was covered for my college degree. Once I went to work for the U. I took a couple of semesters of Italian over my lunch hour, for free, and got pretty good. Then we moved to El Paso. Back to Spanish. Not well. "Hablo solamente un poco de Espanol. Un momento, por favor."

Anyway, I listened to some podcasts of French before we went. The grammar works the same, so I picked up on that part quick enough, but the vocab just wasn't there.

But I was the only one of the 6 of us who tried. All waitstaff turned to me, all guides, all ticket takers... And I tried. And they were really, really nice about it. :thumbsup2 In fact, I was kind of pleased that some people would speak English to the others and then French to me - must have looked like I was getting at least some of it! Tres bien! :lmao:

CE- I want to go back to Paris sooo bad! I love, love, love the report!

Thanks. :goodvibes I was glad to see that I was right in loving Paris back in 1996. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: And you spelt colour right just for me, actually I've been meaning to ask, I see you and other fockers saying whilst alot now, have you ever written it in one of your essays? :rotfl2:

Oh, I know I'm not V, but I write it in e-mails, say it (like TE, I get some looks) think it... :rotfl:

Another lovely day CE, when we went to the Louvre we weren't allowed to take photos of the Mona Lisa, we also couldn't believe how tiny it was :rotfl:

Well... You're not supposed to use flash. And D didn't, thus the halfway decent photo. They've covered her with glass, so all these people were flashing away, and of course it all just bounced off the glass. :rotfl: We felt vastly superior for turning the flash off. ;)

And she's tiny - I remembered that from before!

Jo said:
The girls and I went to the dentist today and we're all fine, he is a little worried about Jess as one of her canine teeth is still a baby one and isn't even wobbly so we've got to see the orthodontist, luckily it's all free for the girls :thumbsup2
Show off. :lmao: Glad you're all doing well, though.

"Rope drop" - this cracked me up! :rotfl2:

It was the only way that I could think of it! :thumbsup2

V said:
:scared1: No way?! I'd be frozen!

::yes:: I was in pants but flips, which was bad enough - I felt really bad for all the little teenagers in their tiny dresses. :rotfl:

I love, love LOVE Winged Victory!! :love:

Isn't she lovely? :goodvibes

So here is some of what we did this weekend (when I was not sitting on the computer ~ editing).

Great pictures! :thumbsup2

Love the Gay Paree.. pix ! I actually never went to Paris but was in France for the day I believe it was Calais!! Have been to Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland , Italy, Spain and Yugoslavia though!!

That's a lot! In 1996 we did England (I know you've been there :rolleyes1 ) just London, though - France (Paris only, driving a bus through to) Lausanne & Lucerne, Switzerland, Innsbruck, Austria, then Munich. Oh, and we drove through Lichtenstein (sp?) on the way to Austria. But that was all just in 10 days and it wasn't nearly enough time anywhere. I loved it all...

Now I can add Monaco and Italy (for an hour!) to the list. I'd really love to see more of England and Scotland and Ireland, and also really do Italy sometime. I love to travel... :lovestruc

CE - Great pics of Paris! How many days were you there?

Thanks, Lori! :goodvibes

My DH is a corporate pilot. He had a trip to France the first week of June, and we got my in-laws to come watch the kids so I could go. We were in Nice for 2 1/2 days and Paris for 3 1/2. He was in each place an extra day - I had to airline to meet him and I made my trip shorter.

:faint: WHEW! It took me almost an hour, but I caught up. Boy you guys talk ALOT

THanks for all the Birthday wishes. We got home about 5:30 and are now just chilling. We had a great time. Weather was great. Jimmy loved the beach, but HATED the ocean! Loved the rides and just may be ready for Space Mountain after the roller coasters he roade this weekend. We forgot to take the camera, so we bought a couple of those throw away camera. Jim took them to CVS for developing and they should be ready in a couple of hours. I will do a mini TR when we get them back!

Before I start on all the other responses I juat have to say:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAT!

Phew caught up !! Happy Birthday Janet

Thanks Rosie!

So, my friend should be here in 10 minutes or so. Anyone want me to pick something up at the par-tay??? Even with the subject matter, I'm not sure it will top that Pampered Chef party for pure giggly fun.

See you all later!

Did you buy anything:rolleyes1

I searched high and low and I'll be derned...this thread was on pg 2. What up?

The way these women talk how is that even possible:confused3

Happy Birthday Janet :)

Thanks:goodvibes

Gosh! Did I get here just in time to wish Janet a Happy Birthday, or am I late again?

YOu were early on this one Slate::yes:: :thumbsup2

Sheesh part 5?!!?!?! What a perfect title for the thread though

Hellooooo everyone!!

I've missed so much and I've missed you guys :grouphug:, I've just been super busy with life.

I spoke with Kat and Janet the other day online so thought I'd check in here too to say hi.

Hope everyone is well and all that jazz. When I get more time I'll start hanging out more with everyone again. Can't wait to catch up.

Miss you Z:hug:

Happy Birthday Janet!!!

Thanks!:goodvibes

Barbieville UPDATE:

So day 6 began with everyone showing up late. I was waiting out in the hallway and the office manager comes running to open the door. We all head in and I start to open the joint up . Then Itty Bitty Barbie told me TGB would not be in today. THEN you never guess what happened......

..... Itty Bitty Barbie asked me if I was looking for placement after I finished my externship. I was stunned. First of all, extern sites RARELY offer students employment and secondly I am SKERRED to work there. I don't want to become Botox Latin Barbie! So, I did what any smart girl would do - I made myself as undesirable as possible... I told her I only wanted part-time work (thinking this would turn her off). Well, it didn't work. She asked me to write down the days/hours I would like and she'd work it out with me. D'Oh! What to do? What to do?

I came home and spoke with Andy about it. Sure, the extra money would be nice... for WDW... perhaps add a few days before at the Poly?? :teeth: I've decided to take the position with 2 provisions... a.) Work only Tues, Thurs and Fri. 8-5pm AND b.) Require a minimum salary of "X".

I'm sure they'll say yes to "a" but they may hem and haw at "b". So we'll see. I also get free Botox injections. So come August, for those who I get to meet you may see me looking like this: :bitelip: when I'm meant to be looking like this:

So what happened?

Everyone's having yard sales.... think if I had a fire escape sale anyone would climb to the 5th floor?

:rotfl2:

Here's what I suggest, Kat. Explain to your "friend" that you don't see why you should have to pay for his mistake. Be upfront about it. If he still insists on being paid, pay it. BUT, never use him again. And let him know that you won't use his services again. And tell him that it's disappointing that he's going to lose years of your future business over his own mistake. If he's smart he'll reconsider. JMO.

ITA with this Kat::yes::

Well the show was nice, the photos didn't work as it was so dark and no flashes allowed, I have ordered the DVD so if I can work it out I'll post some. We then had a nice meal afterwards and it's nearly bedtime for the girls, Ellie's exhausted as she woke up at 5am due to excitement this morning /QUOTE]

Glad Ellie did well:banana:

OMG, I want you to take the job for the stories alone

::yes::

What did I miss? What did you book?

Hi everyone! Do you have room for a newbie? I've been reading this thread off and on and I think I've read a few trip reports from some of you.

Anyways, I'm Lori, soon to be 30 , and single SAHM to my 2 lovely kiddos: Lindsey is 5 (going on 20) and will be starting Kindy this fall and
DR is 3 and is my little mama's boy. Not much else to say about me but I love to read, scrapbook, shop and Disney.

Nice to 'meet' y'all.

Hi Lori, I'm Janet. Just turned 41 on Saturday. My DH is Jim and my DS Jimmy is 4. I am a probation officer for the city/county of Philadelphia.

THIS IS A REMOTE POST!!!!

Hope ou are having fun...and were able to buy deoderant:lmao:

Well the total from the garage sale was right around $375!! This is great as it will pay for Biergarten and the two character meals we have booked.

Awesome Lessa:banana:

I was awoken at 6:30 this morning when my house was hit by lightning. Yes, a direct hit from lightning.

Our electricity was fried.

We had to replace the AC control panel...as it was fried and wouldn't shut off.

The sprinklers also wouldn't shut off...and we'll have to replace that control panel as well.

Simultaneously popped several lightbulbs...that weren't even on.

And here's the greatest part...it fried my PC. So, I borrowed my father's until I can fix mine.

But...on a good note...I updated my TR. Yes, again. I"m trying to get it done before I begin my move!

:scared1: Glad you are all okay. Did you have interviews yet?

It was scary. But, it got me out of camping!!!

The bright side:laughing:

Hoping Janet had a great Birthday!!!

Well considering I spent part of it waiting for you to call me to come pick you up at the airport it was just find :sad2: ;)

Hiya Gals!!

:wave:

I really believe that Jen, I truly feel that real friendships have been made here. Otherwise I am having dinner with 50 strangers come August:

:rotfl2:

T, too funny :rotfl2: My question is, who's met Kevin Bacon?

I have...sort of. I walked by him on the street one day..dies that count. He was born and raised in Philly!

Welcome home Janet!

Thanks!

We started Day 3 by making a mad rush to "rope drop" at the Eiffel Tower. No time for coffee, people, we have to get moving.

Sounds great and love the pics!

Anybody I missed...so sorry. I did my best. Hope you all had a great day!

Let me start off with:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAT!

David and I have just been on a 6 mile walk all around the fields and woods near us, it was beautiful, it only took 1.75 hours too, we're speed walkers :rotfl2:

Why the heck would you do that??? :lmao:

We started Day 3 by making a mad rush to "rope drop" at the Eiffel Tower.

Gawgeous pics again doll! You have inspired me to (maybe) try to visit other spots around the world besides Disney. Maybe.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And boy you girls chat a lot. Remember...my PC got hit by lightning. And you guys just continue on without me. But, that's okay...*sniff*sniff*
First interview is on Wednesday. Then, another on Thursday. Then, possibly one more this week.
We're leaving town on Wednesday for Albuquerque. But, we officially move July 4th weekend! :faint:
:wave: Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!!
T - you can't just type that and not give us details!!!!!!
Sorry, Mo! :goodvibes Waldo was at the counter at a diner in LA and the whole Kiss band walked in sans makeup and sat right next to Waldo. Waldo was clueless who Gene was and sat and chatted with him the whole time. When they left, the waiter asked Waldo if he knew he was chatting with Gene Simmons. When Waldo came home that night and told us, me and brother were flippin' out! And so disappointed he didn't get his autograph. :(
:rotfl2: No we always go walking!
Blah! :headache:
:rotfl2: And you spelt colour right just for me, actually I've been meaning to ask, I see you and other fockers saying whilst alot now, have you ever written it in one of your essays? :rotfl2:
I had it in my resume and my program director changed it! :lmao:
:idea: Oh I wonder if T is up for it again? :rotfl:
:eek: You are outta your mind, woman!
The girls and I went to the dentist today and we're all fine, he is a little worried about Jess as one of her canine teeth is still a baby one and isn't even wobbly so we've got to see the orthodontist, luckily it's all free for the girls :thumbsup2
Bragger! :rolleyes1
You are having dinner with 50 strange people, not 50 strangers. :rotfl2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well let's see how long I keep up now.

Slept most of the day. Got a phone call to go testing for a transfer I put in, so :cool1: . I need to get out of my department, I'm hearing along the grapevine that a 21 y/o who has only been there 1 yr will be our new supervisor. :furious: Only in our messed up hospital does that happen. How can I respect someone who I trained and who I know more than. Just because she cried that she couldn't move up. Excuse me? Whatever it has become ridiculous. :sad2:

It was raining today as it was allllll of last week, so I know exactly how you feel V! Rain rain go away.

I saw the sad news about Carlin :( . I was lucky enough to get to see him live once and consider him one of the best comedians that have ever lived. RIP GC :hippie:

Went with my friend to go see Incredible Hulk and it was good. I liked it better than the other Hulk movie. Plus Edward Norton is an awesome actor.

That's all from me hope you guys all had a great day!

omg--- one weekend away and 10 pages to catch up with head injuries, lightning strikes :faint:

way to much for me to quote, so hello to everyone and :hug: to those who need it.

btw-- lori, i'm rachel , mom to 3 kids, work fulltime as er nurse. i desparately want to move to florida!!! i see you live in ohio, me too!! where in ohio do you live?

so , i had a great time this weekend. we drank lots, played lots of games. we went to my inlaws to ride 4 wheelers and stuff. (they have like 10 acres of land and 2 ponds). well, my husband got the paddle boat and row boat out. well, me, aunt, niece (17yr) and her friend got in the paddle boat. well, my dog jumps in the water and swims to us in the middle of the pond. my overweight dog is trying to get into the boat and is tiring out from swimming. i'm scared she's going to drown, so i'm trying to get her in the boat. well, she gets in , but tons of water flows into the boat. i;m sitting in water, holding onto my 90lb wet dog. so my niece and her friend are trying to paddle, but the boat is tipped into the air, so we're not moving!!! we finally make it back to shore and thankfully i'm already sitting in water cuz i almost peed my pants from laughing. it was fun, but i was ready to get home and down an adult beverage, kwim?!!!

so that was part of my crazy weekend!!

almost forgot , happy late birthday kat and janet!!!!

oh yeah , botox parties :faint: ; so, did you take the job t? then the barbie stories never stop!!! :worship:

Good Morning ,
Last day of our trip and it has been "something else".

Remember how things were falling apart before we left ?... lets just say they kept going.How about losing all your pictures ??

YUP... either my camera or my memory card freaked out and I lost 5 days of pictures. :sad1: :sad: Sara has a few.. but not copies of all.

Knew I should have cancelled. :sad:

Good morning... I'm glad to see you girls kept up the chatter so I had something to read when I got home yesterday. ;)

Happy Late Birthday, Kat! :wizard:

Katt- I felt the same disappointment and had a few good cries on our trip too. Enjoy the rest of your trip and don't stress too much. :hug:

T- Yeah! :banana:

Z- I'm glad you're back! :cutie:

Everyone else- I read your posts, but I'm too out of it to remember everything I wanted to post on. :faint:

I had my pre-op stuff yesterday. First I went to the doctor and got all of my questions answered. Then her surgery lady talked me through what was going to happen and signed a bunch of consent forms.
Next, I was sent ot the hospital to do labs and pre-register. I saw three different people there- the computer lady, the blood lady, and the talk about the procedure lady.
Next, I headed a few doors down to donate my unit of blood to myself in case they need it during surgery. I was really nervous about this part and K's dumb jokes weren't helping this time. :worried: I got through it by not looking and breathing slowly. That was a big stinkin' needle!!! :eek:

After I was done I went to get the kids from VBS, and went home to nap. The rest of the day I wasn't feeling great. That's why I was MIA. Maybe today will be better. :)

We got home about 5:30 and are now just chilling. We had a great time.
Yay! Welcome back Janet - glad you guys had a good weekend!
What did I miss? What did you book?
I can't remember what my "Done!" was about! :rotfl2: July 4th maybe? We're at the WL! :yay:

Waldo was clueless who Gene was and sat and chatted with him the whole time.
Did he call Gene "Mike" or "Steve"?! :rotfl:

You know it's HOT when....

Leo decides he's done with T-ball and wants to skip it to go swimming. Reason? "Don't wanna be sweaty." :rotfl: I was with him on that one - we did indeed skip T-ball (I don't think he found it to be very fun anyway) and Leo swam after dinner yesterday. He's turning into a little fish!

More work for me today. I really need to get rolling on a writing project and I'm having a VERY hard time getting motivated. :worried:

Pool time always trumps just about anything else I could offer the boys, too. Although #3 told me last night he wanted to go with his brothers to play lacrosse so he could "sweat out his cold" :confused3 I don't know where he gets this stuff.

So there we are, #'s 1 and 2 playing "Indian" and #3 running around like a loon when the thunder started. It seemed far away, but I was watching. You know, three boys, an open field, aluminum sticks...So as it got louder I started to make my way over to where the older boys were playing and this lady comes up to me and says "How long are you going to let this go on?"

Pardon?

"Just how long are you going to make them play in the lightening? I can't believe it! I've seen five strikes over there and you're letting them play!"

She was seriously yelling at me.:duck:

Granted, I had on my Charleston LaCrosse t-shirt, primarily because I was cleaning the house yesterday and it's a good house cleaning shirt. But this lady was flipping and she thought little ol' me was in charge :rotfl2: Finally I said "I'm just a parent."

So she grabbed her child off the field and shoved her in the car.
