I'm SURE you did;)
Is it red, yellow and blue plastic? Jimmy has the same easel and LOVE it. Right now he is very into crafts. painting, and writing his name:thumbsup2 HE got his for his 3rd birthday and it was so worth the $$ we paid for it!:cool1:

That's exactly the one. She is five and I wanted to get it for Christmas last year but Toys R Us had a big sale on it and ran out. I was afraid she was getting too big for it but right now my nine year old is fighting her to use one side while she uses the other. She only wants to use the second side if he wants to use it. When he's out of the room she ignores that side.:confused3

It was originally $44.99 and on sale for $39.99 Then they sent me a $10 off $50 purchase coupon. Since they had free lunch bags with the purchase of a backpack that put us above the $50. DS got to order the Lego brick backpack from the Lego website yesterday as well as the lunch bag (they are on clearance) so I thought it would be nice for her to choose her backpack today.

I have heard the Navy Pier in and of itself could be a whole experience...no?
Navy Pier is a lot of fun. I am not sure if everything would be open around Spring Break Time...?

Hey did you all hear that we are getting an American Girl store her in MN? It is going into the Mall of America. I am so excited! I won't have to got to Chicago for the right of little girl passage. :)

Parla: Ok, spent alot of time in Chicago, so I feel confident saying this...
You have WAY too much for a week there. I recommend cancelling the Museum of Science and Industry since you really need TWO days for that. Insert the Children's Museum on Navy Pier instead. Your kids will LOVE LOVE LOVE it! They are the perfect ages. There are great places to eat there and IMAX films (if you like those) and a HUGE ferris wheel to ride outside.

Trust me on this one.

MEL:banana:

Noted. DS would love the Museum of Science and Industry (I had no idea that it was a 2 day visit though) I'm just not sure about adding the Children's Museum. Indianapolis has the largest Children's Museum in something or other (I'm not sure if it's the country, the world or just the midwest but they always tell ya how big it is). We have a membership there and I know that the travelling exhibits eventually end up at pretty much every children's museum.

I'll have to look into what happens there.

I agree!

Yes, we can easily spend a day there. We love Navy Pier.

My db out did himself with the stupid today. We were having a dinner for his dw's birthday. He got the cake and since his dd kept saying it was her birthday, db had her name not his wifes put on the cake. He did it on purpose :mad:. He thought it would be cute since he couldn't convince his dd it was not her day. I said you may not get her to understand but you don't slight your wife because of it. He was at a loss for what to tell dd. I looked at my dn and said == It is mama's birthday but she will share her cake. Dn cried and I thought my db would die. He and her survived and at cake time dn was telling everyone it was mama's birthday and she would share her cake.

He also asked if I found the people on this board weird. I said some of them but me and my friends don't talk to the weird ones :rotfl2:. They do not get how I consider you all friends when we have not met. They think I am weird because I will say how I was talking to a friend today and she said (insert one of your bits of wisdom). You are real right, right your all real?

It's a school and community based club offered in most parts of rural America. I was really into it--went on a lot of trips as a teen (Maine, Grand canyon...) and BA really enjoys it too. Each year they have a camp for 9-14 year olds and she loves it! Rope climbing, swimming, animals, etc. She is taking Reporting (makes a podcast of the camp week), Archery, and Survivor Training as her "classes".

Yep---I have to run around spraying BItter Apple and giving him chew-bones! Ab wanted to know if having a baby is this hard! I assured her it was much worse (and hopefully that will delay it for 10 years or so!)

...dang it.....he's got the computer cord,

watch out...my great dane puppy ended up costing me..I had to get a new one last week b/c he chewed it. Actually it was fine til he started wrestling with my other dog around it and I guess that was too much strain on the part where he chewed a bit. :sad2:

He's cute but I can't afford to have anything else broken around here!

You can always go to the MSI for one day. Just have a plan of what you want to do before you go. Many of the exhibits have a long line to see. There is a lot more at the Navy Pier than just the Children's Museum. It is worth at the least a half day. We like to take one of the boat tours when we visit.

Parla: Easy Peasy. I've been to Indy's Children's Museum too! Love that water clock thingy in the foyer!! :thumbsup2

I would say that the Chicago one has Indy beat for quality of exhibits...that's just MHO. I liked Indy and attended for the Dale Chihuly exhibits but I don't know that overall it was better than Chicago. My kids could spend an ENTIRE day just on the water exhibit in Chicago...

Also, Margie is correct. You could do a 1/2 day at M.of S & I but you would REALLY need to plan it out. It's a HUGE place.

I'm certain that the Pier is open for Spring Break..we went then. I think you could consider also seeing a show like Blue Man Group at Briar Street Theater. My boys were the ages your kids are when we brought them and they LOVED it. You can get 1/2 price tickets the day of the shows at the ticket place across the street from A.G.

DH doesn't like cake and last year I hinted before my birthday that just because he doesn't like cake doesn't mean that I don't want one for my birthday. I still didn't get one. We've been married for 15 years by the way. This year I flat out told him, "Get me a birthday cake!" He always claims that he doesn't get my "hints." His response this year was, "I was going to get you one now you ruined the surprise!" Yeah, right! :rolleyes1

To your story, what the heck did he think he was teaching his dd? Every time someone is a year older she can claim it's her birthday? ;)

Looks like I will check out the MSI website before I totally rule it out. What? No fast pass?

Oooohhhh, half price tickets to BMG. I wonder if they would still have any left during Spring Break time? I got to see BMG about five years ago. I won the tickets from the music channel that DirecTV used to have. DD was an infant though so DH stayed home with her and I went with a friend. After that DirecTV showed one of the shows from that tour on one of their channels and we TIVO'd it. It's been on there for at least three years and DH and the kids still watch it from time to time so I know this would be a big hit. As a side note part of the prize was an autographed CD. The autograph was blue lip prints. :rotfl:

I am going to have to figure out how much time I need at all of these places and start planning days. TGM should do things other than Disney. ;)

We also have relatives up there and plan on meeting them for dinner one night. We are driving up on Sunday and back home on Saturday. I thought I should give DH a day of rest before heading back to work. :D

We like to get the discount book that is one price for several attractions. When we go we are usually there for just a long weekend and cram all we can into it. We take the train in from Battle Creek early Friday and then leave late Sunday. In that time we are non stop fun. The book and bus pass is all we need.

But you didn't tell her what it stands for! Heart, home, health and hands (in what order I don't know) - right?
Head Heart Hands and Health( Unless they have changed it since the 1980's.. did they ??

"I Pledge My Head to clearer thinking, My Heart to greater loyalty, My Hands to larger service and My Health to better living for my Club my Community my Country and my World.

Yeah.. went to 4H camp and a few Fairs. Always got Blue Ribbons for my Cookies.:banana:
OK, so I went to a university with one of the largest Greek systems in the country. But it's also a huge agricultural school. So one day, poor little freshman me sees a girl wearing a sorority type sweatshirt (at the time, it was a nice plain sweatshirt with the Greek letters in things like paisley patterns) that said, "HHHH" and I'm sitting there thinking, "What's Eta Eta Eta Eta?" :confused: :rotfl2: Yeah, there was a 4-H House. And I did know that. I'm a farm girl, after all. :rolleyes:

I belonged to FFA instead. :rotfl2:

4H house... ????:confused3
UK is a HUGE AG. School ( Espically since it's in the Heart of Ky Horse Country) We had a "Frat" "FH" for Farmhouse.. Which the AG Majors were a part of. And Sigma Alpha for the Ladies.

I did FFA too :lmao: Along with FHA .. I was a mess :rotfl2:
FFA was more fun.But Fun is relative there:rolleyes1

I was in FHA...Future Homemakers of America. :sad2: How prophetic...I had no idea at the time.

That's what YOUR FHA stood for, right? Maybe it was different in KY...?

Ok, you guys have worn me out. I'm going to read a Cooking Light mag and watch Travel Channel. It's about hot dogs...I don't know why.

MEL
PS. I'll be at the lake tomorrow until after lunch so keep the chatty down. Eh?

Good evening Fockers !! All caught up!
Kat Now you tell me about your Wii connection.. I just found one at Walmart the bundle for $250. Still need another controller and DD says lots of accesories but the hard part is done !DD will tell me what else to get as this is my gift to all 3, anyone know if Black Friday will have any Wii buys !!???? Well I'll see you all tomorrow sometime depending on if I'm up early or have to wait till after work.

We had Farmhouse for the guys, too. But, yep, there was a 4H house for the girls. I was not greek in any way, myself. ;)

And I was close on the H's. :lmao:

Oddly enough for an Illinois girl, I didn't spend a lot of time in Chicago until I started dating D. My family was more into heading to St. Louis or Indy, too.

But, I'm pretty well versed in Chicago stuff now, too, and I'll be there in two weeks, so if there's anything you want me to check out, let me know.

Last year we did MSI for a half-day, and the boys enjoyed it, but my MIL has season passes to everything and so it was cheap enough for us to NOT spend all day there, if you KWIM.

The year before (or maybe just the winter before - we go to Chicago a lot) we did Natural History, which was not a hit for 4 year olds.

They loved the aquarium, though.

Oddly, we haven't been to the Children's Museum there with them - probably, like Parla, because we've got such a good one here by us (Boston) that it seems repetitive. Also, there's another north shore children's museum in the town MIL lives in, so we've not seen the need to go downtown if we want to do that kind of thing.

D & I used to sneak up and spend a weekend at the Days Inn right on the corner of Lincoln Park. We loved walking through the zoo (free!) and just being all over the city without having to deal with his mama drama. :rolleyes1

OK I just had a bit of a paddy at school,

That just seems so unfair! The parents that have students in the show should get first dibs. Hope you get something worked out!

What is this 'do laundry':laundy: thing of which you speak?

My DH does the most of ours! :laughing:

and I'm pretty sure his biggest sort is white or non-white. KISS, yes?:rotfl:

UGH...how lucky you are!! Of course I don't think I would have wanted my ex to have done laundry. He couldn't even unball his socks when he threw them in the laundry room let alone have seperated anything. :sad2:

Actually it was interesting, although they didnt like my idea of castration;) :lmao:

HI TE, Bear is a chewer huh? Tink still chews EVERYTHING :sad2:

:thumbsup2 on the castration part. :rotfl2:

And when I first read your statement on the dog I though princessjv had said it and she was talking about her DD Tink. Then I realized...nope Janet was talking about her dog!

I just got done dealing with a blowout of the century...

Uh-oh :hug:

So I had my talk with the VP today and boy was he ready,

So glad to hear this and that things went well!

He also asked if I found the people on this board weird. I said some of them but me and my friends don't talk to the weird ones :rotfl2:. I try not to tell people I talk with people online. :rotfl: Of course it comes out eventually and then I get the same comments. :rolleyes:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had a kid free night tonight. :woohoo: The babysitter suprised me at 5PM by just showing up on my doorstep (Thank God I cleaned!) and took the kiddos for a couple of hours. I made dinner for myself and then sat down and watched a few DVR'd shows in peace and quiet.
I live about an hour from Pittsburgh and our local PBS station shows these really great shows on downtown Pittsburgh, different neighboorhoods, etc from time to time. I noticed the other day they were doing a whole collection of them and DVR'd them and thinking to myself when am I actually going to have time to watch these. Well, tonight I did. :)
The kids got home around 9:30, said hi to Pappy, got their PJ's on and I sent them to bed. Yay...for my good day! :)
aaahhhh! That sounds so good! I want some piece and quite! Was the bbsitter a friend?
All the laundry talk cracked me up! We have a very simple method of doing the laundry...dialing the phone and handing them the bag when they come to get it, and tipping them wen they drop it back off. LOL.
Watched a random Disney movie: Model Behavior today (decent, cute) and 88 Minutes with Pacino (great). Thank god tomorrow no work-at-home for KC! I get the pc to start listing all my new ebay stuff! :)
Oh and if there is anything else Nintendo related that ya;ll need let me know, inlcuding Wii Fit, my friends order from the corporate headquarters so they can get pretty much anything. I have no problems mailing you whatever it is.
Off to play some silly games (Big Kahuna Reef) and listen to my book.
Night!
