Well I finally gave in to all the nagging and allowed the girls to put the pool up, it's an 8 foot circular pool and about 3 foot deep, so took forever to fill, it's 8pm and they're in it now, it's freezing too :rotfl2: I bet it will rain tomorrow though :headache: :rotfl:

The kids and I were in a wedding this past weekend and it was BEAUTIFUL!

Looks like a really nice wedding, was it in a park or on someone's property?

Kat, I have not gotten to check out the software you sent me... Tell KC I appreciate his help and as soon as I get to try it I'll let ya know the results.

I am just hoping it work for you!

What's everyone cooking today? Kat? You are the TFW Chef!!!
MEL:banana: :laundy:

LOl I like that! I am making a cop out dinner I found in one of my cookbooks: chili dog wraps. Its just whole wheat tortillas with chili and salsa and cheese, but it looks good and doesn't involve much work. I made a new crock pot chicken yesterday but I'm gonna reheat it tomorrow to not have the same thing 2 days in a row.

What are you making??

I will have to be patient? I hate that!

It's worth it, trust me! And I think you need to have all 3 books avalaible when you read them because they make you wanna dive right into the next one!

Since Janet asked here are pictures of some of my purchases from my weekend in Toledo.

Cute stuff!!!!! LOVE the purse!

Ok here's the Rice Cream Recipe...

YIELD: 4-6 Servings (I say about 4 hearty servings)

Ingredients:

1 cup short-grain white rice (not instant)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 & 1/2 cups water
2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract(I use clear so it doesn't change the color of the cream)

Strawberry sauce:

1 cup strawberry preserves (about one jar)
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method:

1.Bring 1 & 1/2 cups water to boil with salt.Add rice, reduce heat to med-low, cook for 15 min or until water is absorbed. Then add milk and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until rice is tender and the mixture is thick. Chill rice in the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, combine preserves, lemon juice and 1/2 cup water together with a wisk or in a blender, until smooth.

2. Whip cream and sugar and vanilla. (with rubbed spatula) Gently fold whipped cream into chilled rice. Set aside in refrigerator.

3. Spoon rice mixture into serving cups. Garnish with strawberry sauce.

Thanks for the rice cream recipe! Sounds delish! I'm going to try to do it with fat free cool whip instead of whipped cream. It doesn't hurt me or DS (milk intolerance) like cream. Do you think it would work?

I am making hot dogs on the grill for dinner. Koegel's Viennas and baked beans. (Margie will know what Koegel's are....) They're a local MI hotdog. Yummy. Though they are 5 pts. each or 6 with a bun!!! Fortunately, I only had 4.5 pts so far today! Oh, and we're also having broccolini. Your dinner sounds way better! :goodvibes

Yes I was in the Detroit area over the weekend and saw a sign for Koegel's. If I had my cooler with me I would have gotten some. I can't find them in my town. We are so backwoods here. I have no idea what we are having for dinner, but after what I saw at the local Chinese restaurant it won't be any thing from there. Lets just say it was:scared1: and

I'm about to bust out the chicken broth too. I've had coffee, tea, cherry limeade, a creme soda, and a chocolate milkshake. :scared: Tomorrow I can't have milk products, so I'm trying to drink that stuff today. :headache:

Hi ladies, I am home from work...and what do I come home to but Jimmy with a huge lump on his head and a cut under his eye:scared1: He wanted something of of the shelf in his room so he climbed the bookshelf, and tried to get it down. By doing that he pulled the shelf down, bonked himself in the head and put a cut over the bridge of his noe and under his eye. Jim called our neighboir who is a paramedica and he came and cleaned it up. No stitched needed (Thanks goodness) I would like to point out that these things always happen when I am NOT home. Jim broke Jimmy's leg when I was at work and he was home with him ::yes::. Carrying him down the basement steps, lost his footing (in slippers I told him 2 weeks before to throw out:rolleyes1 ) and fell. He rolled to try and prtect Jimmy and slammed his leg into the railing :sad2:

On the shelf were 3 limited edition Disney Bobbleheads:headache:

So.....how is everyone elses day:confused3

------------------
Dinner was good. Hot dogs and beans are just about the easiest dinner you can make, I think. My oldest went to see Wall E with his buds and then to one's house for dinner. I said, "I'm going to cook for the first time in 11 days and you don't want to eat at home????" He said, "Uh Mom, it's pretty much re-heating not cooking. Mrs. W is making ribs. She's actually COOKING them."
Harumph.
Dang ungrateful kids.

MEL;)
