TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

QOTD (Jan 1): How did you ring in the new year? My parents, DD, brother, his wife, and aunt got together for dinner. My brother had to work afterwards, so his wife came over and we shot fireworks outside until almost midnight, then went in to watch the ball drop with champagne and sparkling grape juice. (Of course...missed the ball drop.)

QOTD (Jan 2): What are your hobbies? I love to read. (I'm loving my brand new Kindle that I got for Christmas!) I also crochet and am really into doing that right now, although I can't do tons with it. (I've made a baby blanket for one friend and a throw for another and a few scarves.)

One of my new year's goals is to do more for charity, so I'm trying to get a local chapter of Project Linus going. I have a couple of others who like to crochet, each who know others who are interested, and one who'd probably do more of the fleece blankets.

Hello Team Donald Teammates!

Yep I sure did. I crocheted that one without a pattern in late 2008 to anticipate cold weather when we attempted to move to Nashville(where her dad moved to so he could keep a relationship with her didn't find work and headed for Florida where I found temp work then ended up back here in AZ). Anyway I couldn't be much help but youtube tutorials is how I learned. Last year I bought a Knifty Knitter which I love but have not spent a lot of time using. Should make that a resolution to work on this year.

Mellisa.....I love:love: the hat a scarf....looks beautiful on you dd!!

Holy cow - I'm behind already!!!

As far as soda goes, I like Seltzer cause I like the fizzy. it has just been easier to grab a diet something other than Seltzer. So I went shopping and got a few things today. No soda today and I have survived!

I am also known as Abby,
)

Lol.....about your Holy Cow statement..:rotfl2:
I gave up soda a few years ago and started by drinking seltzer. Now I mainly drink water.

I’m Kim and this is my second BL challenge. I am 45 and live in the Maryland suburbs of DC. My weight loss journey started with WW last Spring to lose for a Disney Mediterranean Cruise. That’s where I met Shawn and what led me to the BL Challenge in the Fall. I’ve lost 25 pounds since April 2010. I want to lose another 25 and that’s my goal for this challenge.:thumbsup2

I am a mom of DD8 ----soon to be DD9 and DD6. Before kids I was a full time elementary school teacher :teacher: for 13 years. I started substitute teaching last December at my dds school. I had two jobs the last two weeks of December and had a BLAST!!! I forgot how much fun I have teaching. I hope to get at least a few jobs a month through the end of the year.:yay:

I love reading everyone’s posts and find it great motivation for me. I hope to be able to keep up this time around. :surfweb:

QOTD: How did you ring in the New Year?

New Years Eve - I woke up at early on New Year’s Eve so I could go to the 5:45am BodyPump class at the gym, my DDs had a playdate with a friend during the day and at about 7:30 we went to go see the Winter Lights display at a local park. (It was beautiful) We ate dinner at Panera. Our late night plan for ringing in 2011 was to watch the celebration on TV but I think I fell asleep at about 10:30. My dh woke me up at midnight to give me a kiss. I laughed when I read Jude’s comment about watching the NYC celebration and feeling old…after my dh woke me up I watched some of the after midnight musical acts :rockband: and didn’t know who they were….sure sign of old age!:hourglass

QOTD: What are your hobbies?

I guess my main hobby right now is going to the gym:cloud9:. I really like BodyPump and the Precore Adaptive Motion Trainer is the machine that I like right now. I also like to quilt, sew and read. Volunteering for the teachers at the elementary school is also something I enjoy.

Happy New Year and Happy New BL Challenge pixiedust:

Hello, fellow Donalds. I started my new changes today. I have 30 lbs to lose. How hard can that be. right. :rotfl2:Wow, I really have gotten into some bad habits. My biggest bad habit is Coke Zero. I love that stuff. My husband pointed out to me that I drank a whole 2 litter by myself yesterday. I know better than to go cold turkey so I had 1 glass this morning and Ive had watered down cranberry juice since. I have a hard time drinking straight water so I find if I add water to about 1/4 cup of some sort of pure juice, I can get my water in that way. I also started my food and exercise journal. I really have to do this to keep on track. I take it where ever I go and write down everything in it.
My biggest problem is boredom.:rolleyes1 I get so into it for awhile and then I just get bored with it all and slowly slip back into my old habits and before I know it, Ive put back on 25 pounds. I hope by joining Team Donald that I will stay motivated and Donald can kick my butt when I get lazy. :cheer2:

Hi, everyone. I joined yesterday. I am 219 and my goal weight is 149 - the weight I was when I graduated college. Well, I was 148 but I like round, even numbers so when I get to 149 I will have lost 70 pounds!!!

As for hobbies, well, part of my problem is I don't really have any. I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old and a 7 yr old and I have made them my entire existence. I feel like it is a treat when I can go into my bedroom, close the door, turn on the tv and fold clothes in solitude!

I belong to a very swanky gym that I never use because my 2 yr old throws a fit -- she will only go without crying if my 7 yr old is there with her and she is in school during the week. I would LOVE to be able to use that daycare on a daily basis. I need to get up the nerve to just let her cry and get used to it.

Right now I have to go to the mall and find something to wear for this movie premier I am attending on Tuesday. I hate clothes shopping because I am a size 18 - 20 and nothing looks good on me. It is going to be a very nice event but I don't even want to go because of the state of my body.

Sorry to have unloaded on you all right away. I have a lot of work to do on myself but I am making 2011 the year!

I hope someone out there can relate to all of this and maybe we can buddy up for the coming months and support one another.

Thanks for reading! :)

Hi, Donalds! This thread is fast . . . so I have a hard time keeping up. :)

I made part of the HH yesterday, and I'm on my way to doing better today.

I have to agree -- when I turned in my measurement total, it was an eye-opener. Yikes. I knew what the weight was going to be, but when I saw the inches, it was scary. :scared1:

I've already cut out most Cokes --even diets ones. Carbs are my nemesis, but I can't cut them out altogether and keep it up. I'm working on eating things that aren't processed or have ingredient lists longer than the packaing can hold.

I'm 51, work outside the home and then come home to my second job. :) I know I should exercise, but I usually find a good excuse not too. So . . . I'm trying for motivation to at least walk or do yoga at night.

I missed the QOTD yesterday, but we had a quiet New Year's Eve here at home. My hobbies are anything Disney, plus travel, reading and sports.

Go, Donalds!

So far so good. I ate more than my 3 veggies today and I am at enough water for 2 people.

I was happy to see it was a bit less than what I had been 3 weeks ago. Like 5 pounds less!

Woohoo! I've been keeping up with my water, veggies and exercise as well, so hopefully we'll win this challange. And congrats on the unexpected weight loss - always a great surprise!

We just hung out at home, cuddling and watching movies. My kids are young (3, 3, and 5). We also played Simon Says and Ring Around the Rosy (wow - we're pretty lame, huh?!?!? LOL)

My DH is also weight-challenged, although sadly he is not on board to getting healthier and losing weight just yet.

Not lame at all! I think that is the best way to spend any day - chillin' with your favorite people. And you never know, when your DH sees how great you look he might be motivated to shape up as well!

Hi All!

QOTD 1: I drove down into town so that my little mini-SUV could carry cages and tables and stuff to adoption days at a pet store. My last little bottle-feed kitten got adopted. :sad1: I worked at home then drove back and schellepped stuff back to the cat shelter.

QOTD2: I do volunteer work, dig at archaeological sites, do geneaology, and read. Oh, I also love shopping at thrift stores and playing Fallout.

Checking in for the start of the challenge. I worked yesterday when I was supposed to have off. Wish i hadn't, but its done done now. Working tomorrow before having the day off on Tues.

Real quick about me, I'm 37 and married. No kids but have a cockatiel Rally, and doggie named Onslow. Currently work for Target but actively seeking something else!! My job is now a daily exercise in frustration and I don't see that changing any time soon:headache:

This is my 3rd or 4th BL challenge and I love coming to chat with everybody, and now that the Christmas shopping season is over, I'll be checking in often.

have to find room in my sig for Donald but we'll find it. Will be back later.

Good luck to everybody. I KNOW we'll do great:thumbsup2

Well, it has taken me nearly all day but I have 4 weeks worth of South Beach compliant dinners figured out. Now to turn that into a grocery list and figure out what to have for breakfast, snacks and lunch. I am not much of a breakfast eater so I may just go for Protein shakes there, and maybe another one for an afternoon snack.

Hopefully DH and I can go grocery shopping tomorrow.

Hello fellow Donalds. Just joined up today and am looking forward to losing weight together.

QOTD1: had a quiet night at home with family
QOTD2: my hobbies are reading (love my Kindle), cross-stitch (when I have time), playing games, wii and cards with the kids, and travel (mostly Disney, but we also loved Italy). We also got a travel trailer this summer and have been "camping" a good bit.

I will be 42 next week and have trouble making myself a priority when the kids have homework, scouts, sports, etc. I will need to figure out how to do it or I will really have trouble with this challenge.

Heidi

Hi fellow Donald's!
QOTD 1/2--My hobbies mostly center around sports...I play broomball in the winter (just had our first game today and I'm sure I am going to be SORE tomorrow ), and I play Ultimate frisbee most of the rest of the year. I also bowl in a league with my boyfriend and another couple. I also love to read and am in a really awesome bookclub that has been going strong for 7 years! The only problem with bookclub is that there is always amazing food and lots of wine, which is probably part of the reason it has been so successful :rotfl: We meet tomorrow night so we will see if I can stick to eating light and drinking water...well, maybe one glass of wine :)

Hello TEAM DONALD! It's so great to see our thread rock n' rolling! :rockband:

I'm just going to catch up on the last couple of pages here. Even with team threads this place gets busy at the beginning of a challenge. Don't worry about keeping up. Just pop on when you can -- even just answer the QOTD -- read only, do whatever works for you -- but we hope you will chat! :flower3:

Maria, so sorry about Worf.

Good luck running the Donald! You are going to rock it! :rockband:

Tau, love your portrait -- you really are a good artiste! :thumbsup2

QOTD: What are my hobbies? In all honesty, I can list several: reading, scrapbooking, doing cross stitch, etc., but the reality of my life is that I don't actually spend time doing these things. I have the material, etc, but when it comes down to taking the time for myself, I end up doing household chores, or mindlessly surfing the internet, and eating.

One of my goals this year is to make myself spend time doing things I like and want to do.

::yes:: Isn't is amazing how hard it is to remember to take some time for ourselves to do things that we like when we get out of the habit? :rolleyes1

Wow, I'm already late with my postings :(

I didn't wake up till almost noon yesterday and then left a few hours later for dinner with our BFFs....so, I'll start with today's QOTD, if that's ok....

QOTD 1/2/11 - What are your hobbies? I love to scrapbook (avid!), photography (I think goes hand-in-hand with scrapping), read (mostly historical novels & some bestsellers) and taking my DDs to cheer and dance activities. Yep, none of my hobbies are big calorie burners BUT I'm starting to walk at least 3x a week.

I just turned 50 and I'm the mom of two beautiful DDs (almost 13 and 10). I work part-time as an Estate Planning/Administration Paralegal and volunteer at my DDs schools.

:wave2: Hi czycropper! I just turned 50 this year, too. :cool2: It's good to have our kids to help keep us young!

Good morning losers!:goodvibes I am off to a pretty good start for this challenge, even though we started over the weekend. Hope you did well yesterday and if you did slip a little, today is a new day:thumbsup2

:welcome: Janis!! Finally, someone as old as I am:rotfl: I turn 50 in Feb and DS turns 14 in April. I find it VERY challenging to lose weight at this age/stage of my life. Hormones are fluctuating daily and my body is fighting me every step of the way. I have "only" lost 23.5 pounds in about 10 months but I am determined not to quit. Even though its a slow process for me, I will eventually get there if I just don't quit

50 is the new 30, right Shawn? ;) Good reminder not to worry if we have a day or two off track -- it's the getting back on track that will get us there. I can't believe that you leave so soon! :flower3:

I'm happy to say I had one day completely on track, and only used 3 of my ww weekly points. Now, to carry on. We went sledding yesterday afternoon, and I got some exercising climbing that hill. I only worked 2 days over school break, but I did miss my quiet time I ussually have in the morning after my ds gets on the bus. It will be nice to get back to a regular exercise routine. I need to remember to do my measurements and pm them to Connie for the win. I did get my 3 hh points for yesterday, and wasn't planning any exercise today, but should get in 20 min for the points. Remember, all the little changes can add up to make big differences, the extra glass of water, walk the stairs instead of the elevator, fruit instead of a cookie. We can do this!!!

You got it, girl! :goodvibes

Hello everyone. Sorry I'm late I've spent the morning reading this thread and it sounds like this is the team to be on! I'm sure I'll get lots of inspiration from you all.

My name is Cody. I'm 47 years old and very recently separated (dh ran away from home the week before thanksgiving ) (Hey, I guess that makes me 162 pounds lighter already :woohoo:). I've spent the last 6 weeks just trying to get through the holidays, pulling myself together, and organizing and planning for the new year. I am so grateful for my 8 pets and their unconditional love that is keeping me going. I'm working on a new attitude and a strategy to make 2011 MY YEAR!

I've got about 35 pounds to lose, all of which was put on in the last 5 years. I'm so excited about getting off my butt and doing something positive. Last year I started the couch to 5k program and ran two 5ks (one at Disney). Unfortunately, I didn't lose any weight, actually gained 10 pounds.:scared1:

I started today on a positive note by tossing all the junk food in the trash. I put coffee grounds over them so I wouldn't be tempted to pull a George Castanza. I've got my workout charts on the wall, the treadmill free of junk and my weight set dusted off and ready to go. Now to lose the weight!:yay:

Sorry about the big changes in your home life. Sounds like you are ready for a new start in life in more ways than one! :flower3:

Good Morning Team Donald! Hope everyone was off to a good start yesterday. I did my HH Goals yesterday. The water will be easy for me. The 3 veggies a day will be hard. If it were fruit instead, I would be good to go!
I guess you could call it my hobby- I volunteer at a rabbit rescue twice a week, cleaning cages, and feeding the bunnies. The shelter is similar to a Humane Association, but with all rabbits instead of cats and dogs. There are usually about 75 rabbits there at any time, waiting for a home. All the rabbits are litter box trained before being adopted, and spayed/neutered.
I have 2 buns of my own at home, Schotzie and Dalton. They do their part at keeping me busy too. Bernie

Bless your heart, Bernie. I think there is a special place in heaven for people who work with rescued pet. :littleangel:

BRB to finish catching up. The smilie police are after me! ;)

I decided that I am going to start my real changes on Tuesday. DH goes back to work then so vacation will officially be over. That and we have a few things in the house that I need to get rid of before we start (chips, egg nog, cookies, cheese sticks) Really are just still in to much of a relaxed mode for me to get motivated until I get the house back to myself.

Setting yourself up for success is the way to go! :goodvibes

Birdseye has some good frozen vegetables -- even single servings -- that can be done quickly in the microwave. Frozen vegetables keep their nutrients, sometimes better than fresh, because they are frozen in the field now.

Good morning teammates!

I decided to take on WIN and see what happens. I've never tracked my measurements before so I figured what the heck, lets give it a whirl. Well, wasn't that an eye opener! I also got on the wii scale (it's the only one I have) and just wanted to cry. I knew I had gained weight but when you see that number man does it sink in!!! I'm very mad at myself. I was pretty much down to where I wanted to be about a year and a half ago. I'm going to get back there and I WILL NOT let this happen again.

I hope that you like WIN! It was a big motivator for me last challenge to see the pounds and the inches go away as the pounds go away so s-l-o-w-l-y -- but I lost 13 inches! :woohoo:

Good morning fellow losers :). My hobbies are clipping coupons to see how much I can save on food and household items, taking walks outside (except in the winter), planning Disney Theme Nights with the kids (our first one is next Saturday as The Nightmare Before Christmas), attending my kids sporting events and watching mindless tv (such as the Bad Girls Club). My challenge to myself now is if I want to watch mindless tv I can do it while walking on the treadmill. That should keep me away from the mindless eating that happens during the shows.

Sounds like a fun night! :thumbsup2

My hobbies are reading and training for the Princess. princess: I also took up piano last year thanks to an HH challenge but have kind of let that go by the wayside here while I am in mega-training mode. I will pick it back up in March. Haven't told my piano teacher about that yet . . . :rolleyes1

Hi! I just joined this morning! (And how appropriate that I was assigned to team Donald, since he's my favorite! I guess I need to get out my stuffed animal for extra inspiration!) ETA: I'm a loser, btw! (ha!)-- Kim

:welcome: Kim!

I was assigned to team Donald.
Will take measurements tomorrow.

:welcome: OhMari! Don't forget to PM (private message) your starting weight to tigger813, if you haven't already.

In two weeks I'm going to try Couch to 5k to hep me get ready for my first 5k in February. have a great day everyone!!

Take it easy on the C25K and don't hesitate to do run/walk intervals as you get up in mileage. I can't run 3 miles straight without my body doing some serious protesting.

One of my new year's goals is to do more for charity, so I'm trying to get a local chapter of Project Linus going. I have a couple of others who like to crochet, each who know others who are interested, and one who'd probably do more of the fleece blankets.

donac, our team coach has done quite a few things for Project Linus, I believe. :goodvibes

I’m Kim and this is my second BL challenge. I am 45 and live in the Maryland suburbs of DC. My weight loss journey started with WW last Spring to lose for a Disney Mediterranean Cruise. A lot of us forgot to take care of ourselves while we were taking care of others. Actually you can't take care of everyone else if you don't take care of yourself. :flower3:

It's been awhile since my DS cried when I left him -- he is 11 now and he recently told me his job is to separate from me now that he is getting older. :rotfl: It is a hard thing to do as a Mom but maybe you can try to leave her for 20 minutes and work up to a longer time? Or is there a friend with a child at the gym who could go at the same time? Or even just take her and not leave her to see if she gets used to it?

Do you have a Macy's where you live? They have some nice plus sized clothes.

Hi, Donalds! This thread is fast . . . so I have a hard time keeping up. :)

I got lost somewhere :) and forgot to post :goodvibes

QOTD 1/2/11 - What are your hobbies
well I like to scrap book, read, cook- Love to collect recipes! play Wii games, DH & I like movies and I am a big fan of BBC/BBC America shows, spending way too much time reading DIS posts. we are big Disney fans and we go a lot. We do different things each time we go- Hidden mickeys, only riding rides that start with P, window shopping, a fun tour, meeting CM's from all over etc..but we also go to Museums, parks and historical places.

HH was good today!! even went for a nice 45 minute walk with DH
Have a good night everyone!!

Greetings from Massachusetts!

This is my first Biggest Loser Challenge...feeling a bit overwhelmed but Happy to be on Team Donald!

I'm a 39 year old mom to twin girls (12.5). I work full-time and between family life and taking the kids to activities...I always found it hard to find time to exercise or do anything for myself. That has landed me about 50 lbs. overweight.

In October my friend and I joined a local gym...and I'm really enjoying it. I did slip up a bit right after Thanksgiving and a bit over the past week or so...but have been trying really hard to keep motivated and attend class or just go and work out on the treadmill. Having a friend always calling to ask me if I'm going to meet her there has really helped.

Unfortunately even with all the exercising (4-5 times a week) - usually 45-60 min. on the treadmill or a Zumba class or a weight training class, I didn't find that I was losing any weight (or inches for that matter). It was strange because the few weeks I didn't go...I actually lost weight. VERY confusing. :confused3 But I'm giving it another shot and will really start to watch what I'm eating again.

QOTD: How did you ring in the New Year?

Had a bunch of friends over and their kids and had a great time. Lots of food, drink, and dancing. Some of the kids slept over - stayed up til 2:30am! Had lots of fun and still cleaning my house!!! But loved every minute of it.

QOTD: What are your hobbies?
Hm. That's a tough one. Watching my girls do gymnastics (they both compete), now going to the gym and unfortunately...watching tv. One of my new year's resolution is to stop watching tv and start reading. Disney is another hobbie, but unfortunately finances did not allow me to visit in 2010. Maybe we will have better luck in 2011. We've been playing the lottery ;-)

That's me in a nutshell. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!!! :dance3:

Jacki

Good evening Team Donald! Hope everyone is doing well.

QOTD: Hobbies that I enjoy are scrapbooking, paper crafting, sewing, baking, and photography. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to devote to any of them. I also want to learn to crochet this year.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day. Tomorrow is back to work for me. DH will be home so he is going to take down the Christmas decorations for me. I anticipate my house to be turned upside down by the time I get home, but I'm going for a walk before I even come home.

2011 Questions of the Day- Team Donald!!

Sat 1/1/11- How did you ring in the New Year?
Sun 1/2/11- What are your hobbies?

For NYE, we were at my Mom and Dad's having a late Christmas celebration with DB and his family. We just hung around, visited with each other, played some Bananagrams and snacked. Watched the ball drop and went to bed... fun and relaxing.

Hobbies are scrapping and reading and geneology research. Not enough time in the day for any of them.

 Hello fellow team member. My name is Cathy and I'm really looking forward to losing weight and making friends. I did real good with weight loss over the past year. Lost about 30 pounds and toned up. Then I moved to sunny Florida where my husband and I enjoy going out to eat and hitting the great food shops in the area. I also got sick and reverted back to all my comfort foods and in turn it caused my to pack back on the 30 pounds I lost plus another 20. I also couldn't exercise during that time so I'm sure that contributed to it all too. My pants are too tight but I refuse to go buy more. I don't want to go up, I want to go down!!
Come summer I want to look and feel better when I go out in my shorts and tanks as well as my bathing suit. I find if I am accountable for my actions I do better.
So....back to Weight Watchers I go and back on my Wii fit. There is also a Zumba class that meets every week down the street that I would like to go to but physically I don't know if I could do it.
So after all this rambling I just wanted to say hi! :rotfl:

Just saying HI to an old friend and former NH-ite! Nice to see you!

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello. I'm looking forward to the spring challenge and getting to know our new team members. I can't believe how many people are doing the spring challenge. I can understand why there are 2 teams now.

Hi Robin, where are you from in Mass? I'm in Danvers.

Hi Allie, where are you from in New England?

Where's lucky978? I think you may be another fellow Mass resident :)

Maybe we can do a meet up some Sunday during the challenge for those of us who are close. I still need to meet up with Kathy too :goodvibes

Hey.... I want "in" if you have a MA meet!!

We stayed home, ate homemade pizza, and had a family game tournament, Scrabble and Wii Bowling.

Hey Teamies!

My name is Maria and I am 42, mother of dsalmost13, and married for 17 years to my wonderful dh. I've been a bit absent lately, we lost our dear Worf aka Worfiedoodles (17 years of black cat full of love and demanding attention) a couple of weeks ago, and we've been processing that.

I'm also in MA, in East Boston. I work full-time as a grants professional for a large homeless services agency, which means I spend far too much time sitting in front of a computer.

I don't know what number challenge this is for me, but even when I try, "I just can't quit you, BL Challenge"...still plenty of weight to lose, and plenty to learn.

I'm leaving next Thursday for some time in WDW. I'm doing my 4th WDW Half Marathon (also known as the Donald! :donald: ) a week from today. I'm still more Pooh than Roo, but I've weighed less each year since my first Half in 2008, so my turtle-like ways do eventually get you there. I'm also doing the Princess in February, so hopefully the additional race so close to this one will help me stay focused on fun and friends rather than food treats.

This Challenge with teams has already helped me! I ran 12 miles yesterday, so I wasn't going to move at all today. When I read the 20 minutes of exercise, I decided I couldn't let my teammates, down, so I did a nice walk to stretch myself out a bit more. I even found a good place to track my HH, so I can be sure to get the points as often as possible for Team Donald! :cheer2:

Maria :upsidedow

Maria.... so sorry about your kitty!! (I already knew this, didn't I??) But still sorry.

Best of:hug: luck at the Donald!! Represent your BL group and ROCK THAT RACE!!

Well.... better late than never!! I've been at my Mom's and haven't wanted to take time away from our visit to be online, so other than a NYE wish over on the holiday thread, I've stayed away.

I've taken the time to read all 11 pages and it looks like we are off to a GREAT start!! Sad to say, though, as your only "MAINTAINER", I'm off to a bad start..... I'll actually be starting the year as a loser.... holiday overeating definitely got the better of me this week.

Briefly, for those who don't know me....

I'm a mid-40's mostly SAHM for the past 15 years (substitute teaching for the past 6 years). Married to my funny-man DH for almost 19 years, Mom to DD (15 1/2) and DS (nearly 13). Lost almost 90 pounds over the course of a few years, but never quite hit my "magic" number, so am trying to be content at another slightly higher number.

Started running a year ago (exercised in other ways for a solid two years before that), but don't "LOVE" running... but as soon as I told myself that I didn't HAVE to run, I was suddenly craving it!! :confused3 I certainly can't begin to compete with the marathoners and half-marathoners here, but I jug along okay.

Welcome to all of our newbies and welcome back to all of my "old" BL buddies!! We are gonna totally dominate this challenge!

I'll try to get back tomorrow and catch up some more. I've read the entire 11 pages, but have run out of time chit chat................P

Hello Donald-ites,

Since everyone else is posting a little about themselves..

I will be turning 41 in just a couple of weeks and body wants to be 41 but I don't. Lost about 20 lbs last yr with doctor supervision but pretty much gained most of it back once the weather started to get nasty. I guess I finally came to terms with the fact that my metabolism is not 18 anymore or even 30. Up until the last couple yrs, I could pretty much eat what I want and just the little bit of exercise I got from teaching dance maintained my weight.

So looking for a little motivation through these dreary cold winter months to keep me active and eating right. Looking to lose about 15lbs.

Hi everyone on Team Donald! I'm Gretchen and I'm super excited to be starting this challenge with you all!

2011 Questions of the Day- Team Donald!!

Sat 1/1/11- How did you ring in the New Year?
This year DH and I were asleep before midnight, which I am totally blaming on having to work the next day. Although we did finish up the bubbly tonight with dinner.

Sun 1/2/11- What are your hobbies?
I am into music (singing) and I read, a lot, though I still use paper books. ;) I also love to visit the parks since I am within driving distance. Hopefully I'll be able to add an exercise class to this list soon!

Hi everyone!
My name is Vicki-I'd like to lose a total of 30 lbs, but I like to keep my goals in smaller amounts. 30 lbs seems so hard.

I already know from my way up to this weight that if I lose 5 lbs, I'll fit into more than the 1 pair of jeans I fit into now. When I lose 12, I'll go down a size, when I lose 20 I'll be at the weight I was last April when I felt pretty good...etc..so right now I am looking forward to my first goal of getting the first 5 lbs off.

I do use my treadmill everyday, I did the Couch to 5K last year. I never ever ever thought I'd run 3 miles(in a row!) but I did.
I still hate to run, so I mostly do a fast walk on my treadmill instead. So I already exercise, I just eat too much... And too many not so good for you things.
This holiday season was brutal diet-wise. We were at WDW for 10 days starting on Thanksgiving and then Christmas and New Year's and here I am 14 lbs heavier than I was in November.

Last night I couldn't sleep- I just kept seeing that number on the scale and I could not believe I had gotten this heavy. I was up until 3am wondering why on earth I had let things get this bad.

I'm trying to weigh myself once a week only (I am a 2-3 times a day weigher:guilty:)and stay positive and remind myself that what's done is done, what's important is that I am making changes.

I use the Lose It app on my iPhone, I find it really keeps me accountable.
