TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

I forgot to report that I was a samer this week. I'm okay with that as I'm still down 5.5 for the month. If I can squeeze out a few more pounds lost this month and the same for February I will be a happy camper! :goodvibes

So is it just me or are any of you still watching Christmas themed shows :rotfl: Dylan just fell in love with Curious George's A Very Monkey Christmas and Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Chrismtas, so we saved them on the DVR and he keeps saying yes when we ask him if that's what he wants when he takes the remote. I even have the Grinch CD in my car and if he gets fussy I turn it on and he starts swaying to the music.

Too bad there isn't a Curious George Easter video too!

Whatever works, girl! :thumbsup2

But tomorrow is an unusual day for us.... NOTHING ON THE CALENDAR! After church we have a totally free day!! I see some more scrapbooking in my future!! Or maybe....:laundy: oh well.

:faint: :lmao:

We are considering taking a NCL Baltic cruise with friends this Summer. I guess we are in the minority and do not have any plans to go back to WDW right now. I am sure we will go there again one day but it is so expensive to me in terms of the value you get and we like to travel to different places.....If you have young children, there is no better vacation than WDW though.

And you are there already so minimal travel costs! :thumbsup2

You've probably already told me this but have you been to Disneyland Paris? That's my next Disney park to try!

Nice of your DH to fix you a breakfast in your calorie range!

. we had just seen the HSM show and DD was dancing afterwards in front of the hat and I was being silly with her. Asking what time is it and shouting it's our vacation. Well A CM came running up and asked what we were so happy about. DD told her it was Disney and everyone had to be happy! We ended up getting picked for the Parade- one of the last cars & stars parades. it was fun and exciting! We were treated like we were famous- LOL!

This is a great story, Abby! :cool2:

My most recent trip was in September of 2009 with my mom. We went because my dad and I had been planning to take a family trip there to celebrate my 25th birthday. He passed away in June of 2009 and my mom and I needed to get away. So off to Disney we went. We spent a week at CBR and had a wonderful time. Just what we needed to relax and celebrate my dad.

So sorry for your loss. :flower3: And glad to hear that you are doing okay after your fall.

Coaching really is a fun way to have what many people find to be a really on plan week. When we run two teams we have to have twice as many coaches. So, we really need some new folks to volunteer. Can you imagine how busy it would be if we were all on the same thread right now???

Thanks in advance for volunteering and thanks to lovetoscrap for signing up yesterday to coach in March!

Come on folks give coaching a try -- it is a lot of fun! :goodvibes And more fun for everyone when we have lots of different coaches.

mom2knk, hope you got your project done! :goodvibes

Hello all! I am your newest member of TEAM DONALD! My name is Stacy and I am a LOSER! I just got married in November of 2010 on Castaway Cay! I lost about 20 lbs before my wedding and it was a wonderful and I was happy with the way I looked on my wedding day! However, I have since slacked off during the holidays and gained back about 6 so now I want to get back on track and lost another 30-40 depending on how I look along the way.:thumbsup2 I want to be healthy and more than happy with how I look. Looking forward to losing some weight with you all! :cheer2:

:welcome: Stacy! Thanks for joining our challenge!

Right now our hope is that I will be able to improve enough to not need my ECV for the normal day to day things like going to the mall or a long grocery shopping. But it does seem unlikely that I will ever be able to do a week on my feet at Disney again. But I also thought that I would only go to Disney once in my adult life so never say never!

You are a very determined and successful person, LTS! I think with you it is more a matter of when not if! :flower3:

So the battle of the scales was not in my favor as the new scale is apparently right vs my old scale so technically I "gained" 6 lbs this week :rotfl:

But I'm going with the fact I am 3.6 lbs lighter today than day 1 with the new scale and not let the overall 9 lb set back between scales get in my way...

Now on to Saturday 1/22/11- It's the weekend, let's talk disney!! When was your first trip, your most recent trip, and when is your next trip? Care to share a favorite memory too?

First trip: DLR was in 81 (which I don't remember as I was well a year old) 2nd trip was in 84 (vaguely remember that.) Started annual (topped out at 5 trips in 1 year) trips in 92-05

First WDW trip? College Program 2001. Only been to WDW once as a "vacation" in 2004

Most recent trip? Well It's been a 4.5 year vacation :rotfl: DLR? December 09

Next trip? DLR? September- WDW technically in 2 hrs for work:laughing:

Tracey can make adjustments in your starting weight when you pick which scale you are going to use -- send her a PM.

Are you going to be able to make it to any of the WISH meets next month for the Princess? princess:

BRB the smilie police are after me! :goodvibes

It’s so hard when you are conditioned to eat when you are not hungry. Seems all my eating is centered around emotion though—whether I’m eating too much or not eating enough. I found chewing gum really helped—sometimes just having something to chew is comforting. Lots of water—flavored water helps, I’ve made my own with lime. Dealing with stuff helps but honestly sometimes you just need escape—as in a good movie or book. Or music…

Good question. I need to do that right now. When I was losing weight—journaling food eaten helped even though I hated doing it. Now that I need to gain weight—I’m thinking I had just better pay more attention to calories eaten. I just haven’t had any appetite. Probably planning meals better would help too—making food more appealing… I know what my problem is—I just didn’t think this would last his long…I think it’s because of circumstances—everything is more intense, and prolonged I guess. Meanwhile—I want to stay in shape but doing that and not losing weight is the problem. I just need to eat more…baaah.

 How about a treat of a nice glass of port, some blue cheese and crackers? ;)

I could talk Disney for waaaay too long!

First Trip: I was maybe 6 yrs old (think during the late 70's) and we stayed in the cabins in Ft. Wilderness. I remember spending hours at River Country (now defunct) and watching the fireworks from Main Street.

Most Recent: My parents took me, sister, brother-in-law and my 3 yr old nephew last February to the Poly for 7 days. It was a first trip for the little guy and he was just floored by everything  His favorite ride was the monorail :rotfl::rotfl: Now that it's been almost a year since the trip I am so surprised that he remembers so much! He just asked me the other day when we can go back to Mickey's House (not the literal house in Toontown...so sad, but the entire WDW). It was the most amazing trip just watching him experience Disney for the first time :goodvibes

Next Trip: Disney Princess Half Marathon February 2012 (unless somebody out there offers me a free trip before then!)

Best Memory: In 2009 I went to Disney with my best friend in the world. He and I had such an amazing trip which began with dinner at Victoria and Alberts. It was sooooo delish and romantic (we are not dating due to other circumstances). After a 3 hour meal we went over to MK for Magic Hours until 1am :woohoo: We were exhausted by 1am in a good way and just enjoyed spending time with eachother. Awesome memory :cloud9:

On another note, ribs are feeling better today and allowed me to hit the treadmill for 3 miles this morning. It felt really good to be active! Tonight I am off to a Murder Mystery Dinner at a local restaurant....I would love to solve the mystery (brings me back to the days of readng Nancy Drew!)

Have a wonderful afternoon/evening Donalds!!

Glad that you are feeling better! :flower3:

Next trip:
Probably December 2011
Either DL Paris or WDW and maybe a cruise.

That would be fun! :cool2:

We don't have a trip planned but we are in the talking phase. Ds graduates college in May 2012. Dh said the other night maybe we should plan a trip to celebrate. We haven't booked it yet because I know he wants to pay off some bills and tuition before we decide. If it is in his mind then we are probably going. That also may be the year we stay with dsis and her family at BLT in a 3 bedroom villa.

Wouldn't that be fun and a lot better than 8 people in a camp trailer! ::yes::

Hey eveyone. I literally have no time, so I just skimmed this page, and these two ladies were the early birds that got replied to! Hope you guys are doing well, I'm trying to get out of the water so I don't drown, swimming doesn't seem to be an option this week for this Dory!!!

Have a great day! Miss you guys!
Taryn

Miss you too! :flower3:

Today's qotd is inspired by my friend Jane who called about an hour ago to ask if she could take my son to boston for a track meet. So I have several hours alone!!!

Sunday 1/23/11 QOTD- If you have one day all to yourself, no commitments, no kids or spouses, just total time for you, where would you go and what would you do?

Yay for a me day! :yay: I'm thinking a little shopping, a little movie and maybe a little nap!

Have a great day DONALDS!

Sunday 1/23/11 QOTD- If you have one day all to yourself, no commitments, no kids or spouses, just total time for you, where would you go and what would you do?

Since I have several hours right now, I'm going to do a quick house cleaning, the go to the mall and do a few errands, things for me- get some things for the princess half, check out ac moore, and then I am going to see what movies are playing, and go see a grown up movie for a change!!
Not very exciting, but if I had the whole day, I might add meeting a friend for a grown up lunch or a walk, if I was feeling rich, I'd love to have a massage.
Maybe curl up with a good book and a cup of tea after the massage.

Not very exciting, but relaxing. Now, off to do the dishes and make the most of my "me" time!!

Have a great sunday, and hope you all can take a little time for yourself today too. We all deserve it.
I would read my book. I'm at my favorite part now in Valley of the Horses--where she gets her cave lion cub.

Mikamah:
I hope circumstances improve for you soon. How are the kitties? Any new family members?
Nah—am storing food and such in preparation for the long kitten season coming. Will need to hole up for awhile. Kidding lol. Would not insult Penney with a new addition, she is too special.

LisaH:
How about a treat of a nice glass of port, some blue cheese and crackers?
Yay you are on Donald…

Dang—that’s a great idea...Have some awesome chocolates around the house too ;-) I’ve just decided to make more effort with meals—last night we had spaghetti and meatballs and it was really good. I have port in fridge now at all times. :)

What a fast moving and fun thread this is. I had to drop out from participating for a few day. DD's car was vandalized at college so I had to head a couple of hours away to deal with police reports, estimates, etc. She was lonely so she suggested I spend the night and "hang out". Sounded fun, even though I was half-way there, I ended up staying. Had to do a run to the store to get a few clothing items to make it over night. I had a great time with DD, in spite of why I was there.

Bad news on the diet front: I recorded quite a gain Friday. Sorry to hurt the team.

QOTD Friday: What positive changes: I am definitely drinking more water and spending less on food out at restaurants. I wish I were better at exercising. That is going to be my focus this week.

QOTD Saturday: Disney World: My first trip to Disney was in 1986 when my law school roommate took me there on fall break. She lived in Cocoa Beach, and when she found out I had never been, she took me to the Magic Kingdom for one day. I loved it!

The next trip was in 1998 when DD, DH and I went for her first trip and stayed at PO French Quarter. DD had just turned 6. Wonderful trip and my introduction to the DISboards. I became obsessed with Disney and the DIS, and Disney became the focus of our vacations, in between the world and DCL. We bought DVC.

Last trip was January of 2010 with DD and her best friend, who has been traveling with us to WDW since 2005 in January. It seemed strange to not be there this year, but DD's college schedule didn't allow it.

Next trip will be Fall of 2011. I haven't made my reservations yet, but hope to stay at BCV (need to call, maybe today). It will probably be solo since DD will be in college, and DH has no interest in going. I am OK with that as I've done solo before there.

QOTD Sunday: I am terrible at taking time for myself. I always feel guilty because I feel I should be doing something "Productive" in the house. I have some time today, so I am going to start work on clearing out the laundry/craft room. Sounds like a chore, but I hope to clear out enough crap to be able to get to my scrapbooking supplies and start back with scrapbooks.

Good day to everyone. Back to read what I've missed over the last few days.

Sunday 1/23/11 QOTD- If you have one day all to yourself, no commitments, no kids or spouses, just total time for you, where would you go and what would you do?

First I would sleep in, after I turn the ringers off on the phone.
Next I would probably work out, trying to stay into the habit of that.

Then a shower, with no interruptions. 6 people and one bathroom does not bode well for peaceful showers.

The rest of the day would either be lunch and window shopping or scrapping with the music cranked up.

Or I'd just go all out cleaning just to catch up and get ahead of these monsters! they are so darn messy!!

I think I would sew and then read and then take a nap. Nothing like a day with nothing planned.

Kathy I like the idea of a massage. I need to talk to my friend. She gives massages but most of her clients are cancer patients. She has been doing this on the side for years.

My grandparents kept their extra ticket books in their junk drawer.... and they lived in MA, not FL. They had been several times before we went with them in 1974, so they had extra tickets to share with us! I can remember seeing those extra tickets in the junk drawer for years.... wish I had them now.

And the "free" day has begun with sleeping late and being lazy! I've even skipped church. My scrapping will begin soon... first I gotta feed the family a nice breakfast.

Well... here I am, wasting my free day just gabbing here and watching stupid TV Land shows. Time to get the family fed and get to my scrapping table!.............P

Dh and I went ot DL in 1978 and we remember the ticket books. I wish we still had some too.

I have done some scrapping in th past. Part of me would love to get into it but I do so many other crafts I really shouldn't get into another one. Have fun scrapping today.

Wouldn't that be fun and a lot better than 8 people in a camp trailer! ::yes::
DONALDS!

But my ds counted and there could be 13 people and it would just be too crowded even in a 3 bedroom.

missed over the last few days.

NC It must be the day for it. We just heard from ds that the mirror on his car was ripped off. I am glad that it is just the mirror but we know it will still cost money that we weren't planning on spending. Glad you had some fun with her.

Sorry you had a gain this week but it is another day to start over. Good luck.

Taryn Hi We miss you too. I know you are going through some tough things (I read the Mickey thread when I have time) and I am sending you PD that you can make it through.

Off to have lunch. Pork is in the crock pot and should be ready in time for the Jets game for dh.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Sunday 1/23/11 QOTD- If you have one day all to yourself, no commitments, no kids or spouses, just total time for you, where would you go and what would you do?

I would spend the day curled up in my favorite chair with a cup of hot tea and read. I often do not have the time for luxury reading when I am in classes so I would want that.

So sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost my mom the same month, and it's so hard. So nice you and your mom were able to get away and celebrate your dad. I've heard it's tough to get all 7 dwarfs together, I think your dad and aunt were shining down upon you.

Thanks. Sorry about your mom as well. It is hard to lose a parent.

The fact that all seven dwarves would be available for pictures during the party was what sold us on paying extra. My entire family wanted copies when we came back.

So sorry for your loss. :flower3: And glad to hear that you are doing okay after your fall.

Thanks.

Today is pretty good. My cousin slept over last night and I had no idea how much energy 12 year old boys have. He was all over the place. He left about an hour ago and now I am waiting for some friends to come over to hang out for a while. I skipped exercise today since I am a little sore but plan on getting back to it tomorrow.

Hello Mickeys and Donalds!!

Just a reminder to send in your weight AND team name to tigger813.

And your HH points AND team name to cclovesdis.

And Donalds--I am still looking for two coaches. C'mon, you know you want to give it a try.:goodvibes If replying to eveyone is stressing you out, you do not have to reply to every post. We have some coaches who do and some who don't. They are both equally appreciated. I will admit that last summer when I first coached I was a little nervous--but really it's a lot of fun!

Please pm me if you are interested or have any questions!

HI Everyone! My name is Erica. I just wanted to say hi, this is my first time doing the BL and I am stoked to be on Team Donald! I started the C25K and I am training to run the Princess 1/2 Marathon in 2012. I never stay on a diet but I thought training for something may invoke my competitive spirit and cause me at least to be faithfully exercising and hopefully this board may help me make some positive healthy choices regarding diet! Can't wait to get to know you all!
Erica:goodvibes

Just wanted to say hi. I am also just started the couch25k and training for the Princess half in 2012. Going to do a 5k in MK in Oct. Welcome again!!

Hi again everyone,
I feel like a ghost I just sweep in drop a comment and sweep out. ;)

QOTD- reading while snuggling with cats and wearing flannel pants, or traveling

just read HH for the week (behind on that too)

these week challenge has me bummed. There is no way I could eat two servings of dairy a day. I hate dairy except for fatty cheese and sometimes a yogurt. Been experimenting with those Greek yogurts to see if I can find a kind I like. So far they are ok but nothing I gotta have.

Any tips on eating dairy for a dairy hater???

Hello Donalds, I am trying so hard to stay up and watch football, it's 11:30 here now. I was hoping the Bears would win, but it is looking doubtful! I want to stay up and watch about 30 minutes of the Steelers game if I can. I can probably make it to 12:30:laughing:

I've seen a loss 3 weeks in a row, a new low number that I haven't seen in over a year. 6 more pounds to ONE-derland!!

:woohoo::yay::woohoo:
I don't know how I missed this post but saw LTS comment on it and went back to find it, woo hoo:cool1:

Interestingly Disney really has also been a constant part of the issues with my feet. All three sets of cortisone shots I got were before a Disney trip so that I could walk (or try to walk). Most of my surgeries were scheduled around a Disney trip. My first use of an ECV for more than in a store was there, and the decision to go ahead and buy one was largely because we knew that it would pay for itself quickly because of the rental costs. And because using it at Disney showed me that I could go ahead and be myself, be independent, and get on with my life if I had one to use all the time. So many days my favorite memories are of when I actually was able to WALK down Main St and STAND in line. I have actually improved a lot in the last year and with PT I am getting stronger but the doctors can't tell me if I will ever be able to walk at Disney again. They have said that my only hope of even having a chance is if I continue PT and lose some of the weight (of course a whole lot of the weight went on while I was unable to walk at all).

I would love to hear more about your foot problems. I have some major foot problems and will probably have surgery when I move back to the US. I can only wear a few types of shoes and I can not walk at all unless I am wearing very supportive shoes. I wonder if the day will come when I can not be as mobile as I would like and would be interested to hear your story. However, I totally understand if you don't want to share in a forum such as this:goodvibes

I can't wait to take a cruise. I've been planning to take on for my 50th bday in 2014, but don't know if it will be disney or not, depending on who comes with us. If it's just me and Michael, disney it is, but I hope my brother, sil and niece will come, so the kids will be in the kids club together.

We went snow tubing this afternoon, which was really fun.

OMG, Michael will LOVE  the Kids Club. He will be old enough by then to sign himself in and out. DS is always the last one to come in the cabin at night. DH & I get pooped out!

Snow tubing sounds fun. DS went snowboarding with his troop this weekend. He was soooo tired when we picked him up.

Have a great day! Miss you guys!
Taryn

 Miss you too Taryn!!

Sunday 1/23/11 QOTD- If you have one day all to yourself, no commitments, no kids or spouses, just total time for you, where would you go and what would you do?

:yay: for your day alone Kathy!!! Hope you enjoyed every minute!

This is a tricky question for me. I already spend a large portion of every weekday alone from about 7:30-4:00 while DS is at school/DH at work until about 6:30 or 7:00. I don't have alot of commitments here, only activities that I WANT to participate in, so.......If it was an ideal day only for me, I would defintely sleep late and then meet friends for hiking, shopping or maybe a day trip to an interesting location. I would not want to spend the day alone since I do that so much already!

I'm still down 5.5 for the month. If I can squeeze out a few more pounds lost this month and the same for February I will be a happy camper! :goodvibes
:yay::banana:

You've probably already told me this but have you been to Disneyland Paris? That's my next Disney park to try!

No, we have not done that yet....I told DH we HAVE to do it while we are so close. We are 90 min plane ride from Paris, 3 hour train ride and about 6 hour car ride. I'm the only one who's been to Paris so far but didn't make it to DL.

Nice of your DH to fix you a breakfast in your calorie range!

Welll......he fixes huge quantities of scrambled eggs, whole pack of bacon or sausage.....I just carefully take out 1 egg, 2 pcs bacon and he eats the rest:thumbsup2 He has no concept of a normal serving size. I'm always telling him that I was hoping to get another meal out of an entree I fixed and it hurts his feelings. Like the huge crockpot of chilli I made this weekend...gone! He has the same BMI as me but he is extremely muscular and looks a little stocky but not overweight.

Well, the Bears have scored but they will have to hurry if they are going to atleast tie befor time runs out!!!! Back to the game.....have a great week Donalds!

Shawnprincess:

And the "free" day has begun with sleeping late and being lazy! I've even skipped church. My scrapping will begin soon... first I gotta feed the family a nice breakfast.
Good for you, Pamela!! I know your lazy days are few and far between. Hope you got lots of scrapping done.

I forgot to report that I was a samer this week. I'm okay with that as I'm still down 5.5 for the month. If I can squeeze out a few more pounds lost this month and the same for February I will be a happy camper!
Whoo hoo!! Nice loss for 3 weeks!!

I’ve just decided to make more effort with meals—last night we had spaghetti and meatballs and it was really good. I have port in fridge now at all times. :)
Spaghetti and meatballs sounds really good right now. You can do it.

What a fast moving and fun thread this is. I had to drop out from participating for a few day. Sorry about this. Must have been scary for your dd, and I'm sure she was very happy you stayed over with her.

Then a shower, with no interruptions. 6 people and one bathroom does not bode well for peaceful showers.
I would imagine not. It can be that way here with only 2 of us.

Kathy I like the idea of a massage. I need to talk to my friend. She gives massages but most of her clients are cancer patients. She has been doing this on the side for years.
I bet you would love it. I've only had 2 in my life, one I got for my 40th b-day and the other was during a biking tour of vermont and I had biked some tough hills and it felt sooooo good. I was like a marshmallow after that massage, got a beer at the bar and sat on the porch of the inn we were at.

Today is pretty good. My cousin slept over last night and I had no idea how much energy 12 year old boys have. He was all over the place. Funny as I read this, my 9yo boy was throwing himself around the living room. They do have tons of energy.

Hello Mickeys and Donalds!!
I am still looking for two coaches.
Hi Rose!! You are right, coaching is really fun. I like to take extra dis-time without guilt, since I'm coach, I have to be here. ;)

Just wanted to say hi. I am also just started the couch25k and training for the Princess half in 2012. Going to do a 5k in MK in Oct. Welcome again!!
Congrats on the c25k!! Hope it's going well.

Remember you have until 7:30 PM EST on MOnday to send me your weight with your TEAM name in the title!

TTFN :tigger:

PS I apologize if you see your name listed above and have sent me a weigh in, either I missed it or didn't receive it which has been happening over the last several weeks!
Thanks Tracey for the reminder.

these week challenge has me bummed. There is no way I could eat two servings of dairy a day. I hate dairy except for fatty cheese and sometimes a yogurt. Been experimenting with those Greek yogurts to see if I can find a kind I like. So far they are ok but nothing I gotta have.
What about some homemade fat free/sugar free pudding? I love the pineapple chobani, but lately have been buying the plain, and cutting up my own fruit, pineapple, or berries. It's tough when you don't like dairy. I also like the low fat cheeses, not so much the fat free, but low fat isn't bad, and I'll throw some on my eggs in the morning.

Greetings from Your Healthy Habits Coach

I am accepting HH points until tomorrow night (Monday) at 7:30 PM. I have, however, received very few PMs.
Thanks Cc!!

OMG, Michael will LOVE  the Kids Club. He will be old enough by then to sign himself in and out. DS is always the last one to come in the cabin at night. DH & I get pooped out!

:yay: for your day alone Kathy!!! Hope you enjoyed every minute!
Thanks, Shawn. My niece and nephew are 14 and 16 and went on a cruise last summer, and had a blast. They were out till all hours every night, and hardly saw their parents. I did enjoy my day alone.

I went to the movies with a friend after doing a little shopping, and after the movie, I met Sue- DVCCruiser78!!! It was so cool to meet her in person. We knew were from the same town, and we have talked of getting together, but haven't yet, and she recognized me from a pic I had posted. It was so nice to meet you, Sue. :yay:

Have a nice evening, Donalds!!:)

 Lazy weekend here.

I sent my PM for HH last night not long before the boards went down for a while so I am thinking that is probably why it wasn't received. That may be why others are missing. I have resent mine.

COME ON DONALDS! Get those weights and Healthy Habit points sent in. Remember-- DONALD DUCK #1 !

QOTD Sunday: I am terrible at taking time for myself. I always feel guilty because I feel I should be doing something "Productive" in the house. .
Great that you got to spend time with your DD. Even at that age, they still their moms!
Don't worry about a gain, this is a new week! :thumbsup2
I always have that productivity guilt when I am home too. That is why I so most of my scrapbooking at the few crops a year I go to. At home I just end up doing other stuff much less fun.

Any tips on eating dairy for a dairy hater???
I am not much of a dairy eater either (except ice cream!), and am completely lactose intolerant, so no good tips. I do enjoy a good smoothie with some milk or lowfat yogurt and fruit. But don't let the challenges bum you out. I couldn't really participate in last week's because my program didn't allow fruit yet. So I just concentrated on the other parts -- well didn't concentrate very hard-- only got 4 points out of 21!

You have such a positive attitude, and are working so hard. I hope one day you are able to walk a full week at disney.
You are a very determined and successful person, LTS! I think with you it is more a matter of when not if! :flower3:

Thanks. Unfortunately I haven't always been so positive and determined. I spent way too much time having a major pity party and living in "I give up land" for a few years. A few too many times of a doctor telling me that "this should have you good as new" and having things not work.

I had finally given up for good when I still could barely walk more than about 5 minutes but then decided that if this is how the rest of my life is going to be then I needed to get ME-- the positive, happy, optomistic, driven person I have always been-- back and figure out how to live with this reality. No more doctors, no more procedures, just move on. And completely by accident another Doctor came along and was able to make a big difference. So that resolve became even greater. Now if I would just remember to do my darn Physical Therapy exercises 2x a day!

However, I totally understand if you don't want to share in a forum such as this
 I know your pain. I have no problems talking about my problems. In fact I have pretty much discussed it all in real time on the boards in various threads. I am actually more hesitant now to really talk about it because I don't want to discourage anyone. I am a "worst case" of severe plantar fasciitis in both feet. Everything that worked on 99 percent of the people didn't work on me and in one case made things horribly worse. Dinner is about ready so I will try to post later when I have more time.

Good Monday morning Team Donald.

It is 7degrees here in jersey. I don't even want to think about going to work this morning. Stay warm out there.

I have a busy day today. I have classes all day and then two meetings after school.

Has everyone sent theiir weight to tigger813 and their HHpoints to cclovesdis. We need all the pounds and points we can get.

I will try to check in later. I have to go now and get laundry into the dryer and get some breakfast.

Have a healthy and happy day.

This weekend was really hard for me. We celebrated my youngest's 12th birthday at Red Robin and I ate cheesecake! Then on Sunday we had party at home with chocolate cake and cannoli filling! I am so bad at resisting occasions like this. I probably gained 3 pounds back. Well, I am back on track today.
QOTD for Sunday: I would sleep late, watch lifetime movies in my PJ's curled up in a snuggly blanket.

Good for you for getting back on track today. We have to make this a lifestyle we can live with, and we are going to have those occassions we that we do indulge, and that's ok as long as it's not everyday, and we reign it in on the other days of that week. Good luck this week. You can do this!!

You too Dona. -4 here this morning, and michael was so excited to be doing snow shoeing in gym class this week, so I tried to prepare him that it probably won't happen.

Glad you were able to the the real you back after all you've been through. You definitely seem like a positive and fun person to hang around with. Glad you joined us here with the bl challenge.

Good morning Team Donald!!
Hope you are all warm and toasty in the house this morning. I'm happy this is the last week of january and spring can't be too far away.
Back to work, so I won't be able to keep up with you all. Have a great day, get those healthy habits in. I decided I'll have yogurt with bkfst and lunch each day to get the milks in.

Keep up the great work!!:cheer2:

Well, the newscaster just ruined my winter denial and said we're only 1/3 the way through winter. What a jerk.:rotfl2: Coldest morning here in years. Quite a winter, so I'm going to think about vacation with the qotd.

Monday 1/24/11 QOTD- When you go on vacation, disney or anywhere, how do you handle eating? Has this become a true lifestyle and do you stay in control and not vere much from every day, or do you go all out and totally splurge and deal with what you may gain after, or are you somewhere in the middle?

I definitely am in the middle. In disney I try to get as much water in as possible, and stay away from fried foods, but definitely have my splurges. If it's hot, I will consume many a mickey bar, if I'm on the meal plan, I'll have dessert, but I have found I may be up when I come back, but once I'm on the plane, if I get back into eating healthy, and do not continue like i'm still on vacation, those pounds will tend to fall away quickly.
Other vacations, will try to do the same. when we go to Maine in the summer, we're with family, the blender drinks are flowing, and the dips are plentiful, so it's hard. This past year, I got out several mornings and took a run/walk, and then at least I burned a few of the excess calories i took in. But for me, vacation is about splurging, and I don't want to come home and feel like I deprived myself.

Disney QOTD: My most recent trip was in October when we spent a week at SSR with my family and my parents. After a very stressful 2010, it was a lovely relaxing vacation. Loved it. My first trip was in 1991 when DH and I got engaged! We were staying with his grandma in Leesburg and commuting to WDW. Such a fabulous introduction to WDW! But my favorite Disney trip ever (out of 16) was our Disney Cruise in 2005. Nothing compares. It was pure magic.

Today's QOTD: Well, I guess with 4 kids and a crazy dog and the life that ours, I'd like a quiet day alone, too. Maybe get a pedicure. Read or watch sappy movies.

Lazy weekend here. Ugh. Spent Saturday being consumed with trying to fix the desktop computer. No winners there. Sunday we were snowed in and watched football all day. Even had pizza for dinner! AGH! But the taste was enough, I think I'm strong enough to leave the leftovers for the kids. Today, I'm back to salad for lunch, and I'm okay with it.

Actually, I'm going to a friend's house to scrapbook today! So excited, we haven't done this since before Thanksgiving. Have a great day Team Donald! Make good choices!
