TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

So here are my Top 10 reasons to stick with a healthy lifestyle for 2011.
10. Shopping for clothes is a lot more fun!:goodvibes
9. Being able to fit on the Dumbo ride with your adult child—priceless.:lovestruc
8. It’s awesome to be able to leave your clothes in the dryer and not worry about everything being too small when they come out.:thumbsup2
7. Less stomach issues and better sleep!
6. Healthy food (once you figure out what you like) tastes so much better than fast food.
5. Trying new things—like segway tours and kayaking and parasailing—is a lot easier without the extra pounds.
4. You will find that if you can lose the weight you will feel like you can do anything!
3. Being told you look 10 years younger is a pretty amazing thing!
2. Less medication, better blood pressure, less risk of diabetes, stroke and heart attack, need I say more.
1. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!! :goodvibes(Thanks Corinna—I think you said this!)
What a fabulous list, Rose. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Walked through the family room on my way to the treadmill today and my kids were watching Cake Boss and all I could think about for the next 20 minutes was frosting! I'm a serious sweets lover. I hope I don't trigger anyone else's cravings here by saying that, but I think it's worth noting...stay away from shows about unhealthy food!
I was reading about the supplement gels and gu's, and someone described them as frosting, and now I'm craving frosting too. So glad I don't have any in the house, and I'm too lazy to make some.

one BIG thing for me is now that I have told so many people I am going to do the 5K in October and train for the Princess in 2012 -
I don't want everyone to shake their heads and say we knew you would'nt do it. you were talking again like you have in the pasty about losing weight.
I want to prove that I CAN.

I just want that medal :) and getting healthy along the way is a perk!!!
With all this support I am in for the long haul :)
Whoo hoo!! You can definitely to it. I was slow to tell people I wanted to do the princess, but almost everyone I told, and now pretty much everyone is sick of me talking about it, but they were all supportive, and more of them knew I could do it before I did. Ah, that medal is a huge motivator.

But today is a new day, I am back on track, even went to bed with the kids last night so I wouldn't continue the downward spiral. Woke up at 7 which even on a school day is rare for me, laid around til 9 (should have gotten up) but now we are on to breakfast and a run.
First take ownership of the bad day, ignoring it won't help in the least. Sit back and look at what I did wrong, how I felt, why I ate what I ate. Then learn from it. Re-access my goals, why am I here. What do I want for myself. Then start a new day on a good note!
Here's to a new day, and an awesome attitude. Hope you had a good run. It's cold out there.

The best way for me to get back on track is to just do it as quickly as possible. Don't wait until the next workday, the next day, or even the next hour. Forgive, forget and get back on track. Also tracking right away helps because sometimes I find out that the problem wasn't as bad as I thought and it is easier to get back OP.

We have the day off today so DS will be studying for finals -- looks like we avoided the strep and just got a cold -- and we will take it easy to keep recouperating. Also, apparently the stars, moons and planets have aligned just right because all of our laundry is done and put away!
Love your attitude. So glad ds is is ok and hope that cold is gone soon. I am jealous of your laundry since mine is sitting clean on my bed. I should be doing that now, but I'd rather catch up here.

Happy monday everyone! I had a busy weekend and am still pretty busy at work, but I am rewarding myself for working hard for 2.5 hours by coming on here and commenting a little Luckily, I have a gym that is only about 5 min from work. I usually leave for the gym around 1, get about 30 min of cardio in :yay:, take a quick shower and head back to work. It usually takes me about an hour and 5 or 10 min, but I usually get to work before 8, so I figure it all works out :thumbsup2 When I get back to work, I eat lunch at my desk.
You definitely deserve some dis time for working so hard. That's great you have time to get to the gym on your lunch break. Imagine how much food you could consume in that amount of time if you just sat in the lunch room.;)

Hi everyone! I was having some password issues and was not able to get on the DIS at all!!
Mon: 5AM boot camp class
lunchtime interval run

Tues: 30 min run
Pilates class

Wed: 5AM boot camp class
Lunchtime tabata class

Thursday: 5-6 mile run

Fri: 5AM bootcamp class
lunchtime 4 mi run

Sat: OFF

Sun: long run day (yesterday was 8.8)
Glad you got on today. I am tired just reading your schedule. You are awesome!

Weigh in schedule is between Thursday and Monday so if you PM me in that time frame you are not late!!!!
Thank you Tracey for all your hard work as our weight keeper. :flower3:

Have a great day, Donalds! I'm out to shovel for the second time today (which gets me points with DH and counts as cardio ... win-win!)
Ah, the wonderful shovelling calorie burn. Be careful. Hope it's not too bad.

Just popping in to say hello. We had fun at the museum, and split a bag of chips, and then came home and had a late lunch, early supper. I figure we'll have some fruit and yogurt later, I have a nice pineapple to cut up. Gotta get my fruits in for the HH.

Have a nice evening.

To all the Donald's in MA, RI and CT - did you see that there will be an inaugural rock and roll marathon/half marathon in Providence in August 2011?? Anyone else interested????:goodvibes

I might be. Have to survive the princess first.:rotfl2: I didn't see that one, but had been looking so I will have a goal for after the princess so I keep moving. There's a half in may in gloucester ma that I was looking at. Thanks, I'll check this one out.

So I went and bought my "reward" scale today...

Did not think there would be a 9 lb difference between new scale and old scale...:confused3

Not sure I want the new scale:rotfl:

You still have 45 minutes to send in those weekly weigh ins!!!

We've dropped from 85% retention to 74%! Come on Team DONALD!!!!

Biggest Loser 11 Spring Challenge Week 2 Team Donald!
This week’s group loss is 89.9 lbs.
Average percentage of weight lost .72 %
Total group weight loss so far 260.7 pounds!

AWESOME!

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of the week? This time I’ve done a TOP 10 LIST ! That criteria may change from week to week. Hey I'm in charge here and I get paid nothin' to do this so you better take what you can get! (and if there’s something you want to know, just ask me!)

Hi Team Donald!
I bought the 30 day shred. I did level 1 tonight.
How does it work? Do you keep doing level 1 until you can add level 2?
Or do you do just level 2 tomorrow?
thanks

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!

NOTE: this list includes participants who have reported in within the last 3weeks, once someone misses 3 weigh-ins they are dropped from this report.
How this works: you set your goal for what to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.
Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.

We have done 1 out of 20 weeks, so the challenge is 5% complete.

Congratulations to our top losers, particularly JV!

I had my Weight Watchers weigh in tonight and maintained, I'm happy with that. I was supposed to have my last meeting with my trainer but had to cancel. I found out I have a pilonidal cyst which is very painful. I see the surgeon on Wednesday. Has anybody had this before? I had never head of it although it is apparently quite common.

I don't know how, but I came in at 3 points under my target today. I wasn't hungry so I decided not to try to make up those points, although normally I am religious about at least eating to target.

I love my husband, but sometimes he just doesn't get it. Tonight he had peaches in heavy syrup ready for dinner. I told him unfortunately I cannot eat that due to the syrup. I am at least teaching him to read labels, so he looked at it and said, it's not that bad. I love that he is trying, but it irks me when I say that I can't eat somethign and he tries to argue with me. Oh well.

Good Tuesday morning Team Donald. I had a post but it is gone and now I don't have any time to say anything.

Congrats to the losers for this week especially JVL1018

Will be back later today.

Stay safe out there. We have snow and I think it is icy and then rain.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Stay Safe everyone! School is canceled here today! It just started snowing! Hopefully my 2 clients can reschedule for Thursday! I'll have to call both of them later! I'm glad I planned ahead and got both of their phone numbers on me here at home! Hopefully my boss won't expect me to go in today! Not taking two kids out in this today! I don't drive well in the snow!

Started to workout when I saw our school listed! Since I'll be home I'll day I'll workout later! This is me time now! I scared the heck out of DH when I went in to tell him there was no school today!

TTFN :tigger:

Morning Donalds! We have a 2 hour delay here, will be my first day back at work since Jan. 6th! Trying to gear myself up for work. I was really meant to be a SAHM, I'm gonna miss my home time!

For those of you that know me, you know I love motivating quotes. They are part of my QOTD on Mickey, and I thought I'd share. I know many of us are realizing this is a long term committment, and many of these have been very helpful to me along this journey, and came from my fellow BL's. If one is yours, and I didn't identify you, please let me know!

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

"If you can dream it, you can do it" Walt Disney
"Nothing tastes as good as thin feels"" (pjilla maybe?)
"food is fuel"
"If hunger isn't the problem, food isn't the solution" (Cam, I think?)

"Do or do not, there is no try".

"don't throw out all the dishes because you broke the plate"
"In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired".
"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you have always got"

"It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up." Vince Lombardi
"Never, never, never, never give up." Winston Churchill

"You may delay, but time will not" Benjamin Franklin

"You must do the thing you think you cannot do." Eleanor Roosevelt
"You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance"Lee Iaccoca

"You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there!"

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Donalds!:donald:

Hope someone can use it. I had my book club meeting this morning and it was fun. It was the first one I've been to since I got my Kindle for Christmas. I could not go directly to the page in the book like the others so that was hard but I could search for things in the book and that added a lot to our discussion. So far, I love my Kindle!

I hope everyone is having a great week - I am working hard and hope to show a loss this week:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi Bernie,
My understanding is that you go to level 2 after 7-10 days (or when it doesn't leave you feeling totally anihillated). You don't add it, you just change levels.

I don't know how, but I came in at 3 points under my target today. I wasn't hungry so I decided not to try to make up those points, although normally I am religious about at least eating to target.

My leader has said that with the new Points Plus, if you are satisfied at the end of the day, you don't have to finish those last few points. The free fruit and power foods can mean you don't actually NEED all 29 points, and for the first time in a long time, that is OK. Or so say the leaders here.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Lindsay!! I miss you all too. This is the first week I've been able to keep up here, it's quieted down a bit. I hope everyone is just busy and doesn't have time to post as much, and they are all still living the good, healthy life.

I bought the 30 day shred. I did level 1 tonight.
How does it work? Do you keep doing level 1 until you can add level 2?
Or do you do just level 2 tomorrow?

Bernie
I think you can do it either way. I had it a while ago, and can't find it, but I think I did level 1 the first week or so, and then tried level 2. It was hard, and I never could do it all. I think I lent it to my sister, and I should try it again. I'd say to maybe try the first level, and when that gets boring try the other levels. You might like the other ones better. It's a great workout.

I had my Weight Watchers weigh in tonight and maintained, I'm happy with that. I was supposed to have my last meeting with my trainer but had to cancel. Sorry to hear about the cyst. I know they are painful. Good luck with the surgeon.
Someone here mentioned with the new ww, that it's not as critical as it was before to make sure you get in all your daily points. It's ok to miss a few a couple days a week, and you still can be eating enough to keep the metabolism up. So cute you talking about your husband. Does it still feel so new to you?

Stay Safe everyone! School is canceled here today! It just started snowing! Hopefully my 2 clients can reschedule for Thursday! I'll have to call both of them later! Wow, you've had a lot of days off. I would love to be a sahm too. Before michael started kindergarten, I was just changing jobs so I had 3 weeks off, and it was great. Gotta play that lottery again.;)
Thanks for the motivating quotes!

So I went and bought my "reward" scale today...

Did not think there would be a 9 lb difference between new scale and old scale...:confused3

Not sure I want the new scale:rotfl:
Yikes, that's a big difference. Not really a reward, huh? At least you know it's the scale, and you didn't gain the 9 pounds in a day.

Good Tuesday morning Team Donald. I had a post but it is gone and now I don't have any time to say anything.
Don't you hate that. Hope you have a great day, Dona.

Good morning everyone!! Some great numbers up there for losses. I like being able to catch up on the thread again, but I hope that doesn't mean people are going to be dropping out. If you are struggling, it's the time to come here and post about it, vent, get support, and keep on trucking. We can all do this!!:cheer2:

Back to work today. I love 3 day weekends. Have a great, healthy day!!

Good morning friends! Another snow day here in the Poconos. Sleet, ice, snow....the whole enchilada! Congrats to all the losers this week. Keep up the good work. Can anyone explain to me how to do the weight loss ticker and clippie on their signature?? I am TI....technologically impaired.

Good morning Team Donald!

I got a late start to the day thanks to a sheet of ice on the roads.

QOTD - Tuesday January 18, 2011 - Do you plan out your meals for the week over the weekend? If so, how often do you recycle these meals?
I will be on a little later this morning to reply to some posts from yesterday!
