Hi! My name is Jen and I'm fairly new to WISH and to jogging for that matter. I made a new years resolution to run in a Disney race and have gotten addicted to it (although running implies more speed than I actually possess). My husband and I ran in the Minnie 15K and had a great time. We were thrilled to meet so many nice WISHers at the race and decided to check out the boards when we got home from vacation. I've been lurking for a while and decided I'd like to join in and be part of the team.

We are now hooked on jogging and training for the Disneyland 1/2. We live in NJ and although we make it to FL about 2-3 times a year this will be our first trip to Disneyland. I've never run prior to Jan of this year, so I'm working up slowly in miles and hoping to be able to jog the whole race-- I did a walk/jog combo in Minnie. I'm hoping you guys can help keep me on track.

I admit I haven't been able to read this whole thread-- so I'd love a bit of info about the teams-- is it a contest? Does the team with the most hrs or miles win a year of bragging rights?

I look forward to getting to know you guys. Thanks ahead of time for the support!:thanks:

WELCOME, JEN!!!!!:welcome:
Glad to have you as part of Team Ohana!

There's no need to read the whole thread....in fact most of this thread is just posting the weekly activity. We have another thread (Team Ohana: Check-in and Introduce) that we use for chat and I hope you will just jump in over there as well. It sounds a little confusing, but keeping a separate thread makes it a little easier for me to collect the weekly data by greatly reducing the number of posts I need to wade through.

As I said, there is no need to read the entire thread, but it may be a good idea to check out the first few posts in each. I think that is where we posted the "rules". In a nutshell, any rigorous physical activity counts as workout minutes. Anything that can be measured in distance (running, walking, swimming, cycling) counts as both minutes and miles. If you do a certain distance during competition you get to double the distance, but not the time. Any questions, just holler.......and welcome again to the family

Hey! Still in WDW...Last day :worried: so I will post my hours for LAST WEEK.
I have totally stuck it to the man on the Disney Dining plan...eating like a beast! Love this flat running. I feel like I am flying b/c there are no hills.

Hope to catch up soon...after tomorrow and the 8+ hour drive home.:scared1:

AND

So sorry Richard. Lots of PD!

Welcome Jen!

Hours:10ish
Miles: 38 miles...sorry it is low...I am at WDW...so no biking.

DUDE! Am I the 1st to post my hours for this week? Where is everyone? Did I miss something?

Anywho:
Miles: 58.61
Hours: 12

I did count some of the miles walking around WDW. Not ALL the hours though....Hey I was pushing a 60 lb kid so I can truely say it was a WO...It is just easier to push DD7 at this point than to listen to her whine.:confused3

Since I got a partial approval to workout again I can post a small contribution for the week, all on the exercise bike.

Minutes 23
Miles 3.5

6/21 4 miles 52.5 min
6/22 1.25 miles walking 30 min
6/23 2.06 miles 31 min
6/25 3 miles 44 min
6/26 20 min walking
6/27 2.16 miles 30.5 min

Total: 12.47 miles 208 min

miles 25 run/walk
minutes 6 hours

I'll try to do more next week-- this week was rough with the combination of the heat and a 4 year old home with the sniffles.

Another week down. Slowly but ... Yesterdays longest walk since surgery(3 months yesterday) was 2.3 miles(3 total for day). I am paying for it today:( Hopefully Dr won't be made tomorrow.

Linda: 15.5 miles(8 hrs)
Robert: 15.5 miles(10 hrs)

Until next week...............

Keep up the good work all:)

I win the pathetic week....

No Miles
2 hours

That's it. But this weekend I ran and I am going to get myself back on track.

Oh, NOW I get it! The two thread thing was confusing me.

Not a great week - a fast but furious bout of stomach flu swept through our house. Just a 12 hour one it seemed, but it took me a couple of days to feel normal-ish again.

9 miles
92 minutes

week ending 6/26 (i am always behind the times...)

17.66miles
7hr even

biking, wii fitting, elliptical, PT, softball, walk/run, and my last swim until the knee surgery. The click clacking was back with the swimming this time. Boo.

For the week 6/21 - 6/27:

Dennis -- 12 miles (5 + 3.5 x2 for Corporate Challenge)/176 minutes

Maria -- 18.061 miles/256 minutes

Was it worth the wait?! teehee

Go Team Ohana!

Wow, I'm later than everyone!

14.24 miles; 9:38

What happened to Debra? She's never been quiet this long...... I hope everything is OK.....Debra, we miss you!
