Since we are trying to keep the thread size down around here so that the boards continue to run smoothly I am going to go ahead and start a new thread for this month!! I have already transferred all miles from last week onto the spread sheet and have written down all miles logged from this week so that they don't get lost!!

Just wanted to post my workouts for today!!

4 miles of speed work in 28:40
30:00 of Yoga

My hip is still a bit troublesome. I have been Icing and using Ibuprofin, along with strength training and stretching to try to get it to stop. I had the same pain last year and the strength and stretching really helped to get rid of it. So I'm hoping to do it again!!

I don't think I reported in for w/e 4/25 yet...no running just workout due to sore hip. 2.25 hours

For w/e 5/2 - nada we were at Disney

At present for w/e 5/9 - I have 9.3 miles (Minnie 15K) at 2:05 hours AND hip and foot were fine (I think I just gave them an asphalt-kicking and they behaved themselves).
 
Missy - Glad to hear that your hip is was feeling good throughout the Minnie. Mine felt good during the Minnie too, just WISH it felt better now!! Actually, it doesn't hurt at all when I run. Heck and to be honest, I'm not even sure it IS my hip. Maybe it's my quads. It's like this resonating pain all over the upper portion of my left leg. At least I have you guys to complain to about it!! DH just keeps telling me I do it to myself with all of my hard running and he doesn't wanna hear it!! :rotfl:

So where's everyone at?! I mean it's Thursday people!! I know you aren't all still on vacation!!

You aren't complaining - you are sharing. It's a good thing! We need to get your DH running!

I'm waiting for the race that nothing hurts before, during or after and I run, the whole thing, like the wind (that is a dream). Anyway, went to the doc who confirmed ITB - that was my guess or bursitis (?).

I wish I was on vacation - that starts 5/17-5/24 - back at Disney with the kidders (who are 22 and 20).
 
So I was going to post totals for this week to include MINNIE, but is there something about doubling for races?? Can you guys expalin please??

Today I did:

22.5 minutes
1.7 miles
BUT the cool thing about that? I ran 15 minutes straight for 1.2 of those miles! I have NEVER run a whole mile in my entire 38 years!

102.5 minutes (this includes the Pilates as well as the running)

Sorry I do not have much to add for this week.

2 mile walk on Wed 34 min
2.5 mile run on Thur 24 min

Wanted to do more today but the weather was awful. I plan for a full week coming up.

Hope anyone racing this weekend stays safe and has a wonderful time.
 
OK so my totals for week ending 5/9/08 - including double miles for MINNIE!!!

run/walk: 28.8 miles
time: 177.5 (didn't double time, am I supposed to? If I am let me know and I will re-post)
crosstrain (BodyPump, Bodystep, BodyAttack): 270 minutes!!!!

and of that I ran 16.36 consecutive minutes, up from my 15 straight minutes on Friday!

Thursday - weights for 45:00
Friday - rest
Saturday - 4 mi of hill repeats in 44:06 and 1:30:00 of hot yoga
Sunday - Mother's Day 10K - 6.3 mi in 1:02:13, plus 18.54 mi of biking in 1:55:37

TOTAL: 38.3 mi, 5:19:57
 
I did get some miles in! I can add seven miles from my walk home from work.

My back is doing my better, am without pain but still on some restrictions. No shoveling (aww...) but that is soon to be lifted too. Trying to look into core strengthening workouts, but usually I'm too tired from working to think straight.

Hey guys! I am very excited to become a part of your team. My name is Julie and I turned 39 in March. I was never an athlete and enjoyed just laying on my couch. As my 39th approached, I realized my hips were going to just keep spreading if I continued to lay on the couch:rotfl: so I decided to start going to the gym and running. To my complete surprise, I LOVED it. I ran/walked in my first 5K two weeks ago and did it in 35:22. I was SO proud of myself. Three months ago, I would have gotten winded walking across the street. I have lost about 12 pounds which is a GREAT bonus! I want so bad to do the Princess 1/2 in March. That's my goal and with you guys' help and support, hopefully I'll be able to. Looking forward to getting to know you all!
