I'm not really sick of any names, but I often feel so sorry for kids who are saddled with just ridiculous, utterly misspelled names that no one can pronounce. I had one kid just last week (a high school junior) tell me that his mom gave him one of those made-up names with all the apostrophes and dashes and multiple capitalizations in it. Part of the name sounded like Shaun, so he has just basically changed his name to that. He said, "Man, my mom, what was she thinking? What a stupid name she gave me."
If vowels are ok for a nickname, then why aren't they on her birth certificate?
Our last name is Irwin, so then he has the problem of people not being able to tell which is his first and last name. Doesn't seem to matter if Smith, Joe is right above his name and they say Joe. When they get to Irwin, Cooper it seems to blow their mind and they don't know what to say as a first name. We live in a small town, but there is one other child the same age as my son with the first name Cooper. Never fails, they always get put into the same class.
... two Aiden, Aidan, and Ayden) ... or anything that rhymes with it .... Jaiden (various spellings), Hayden, Kaiden, Brayden, Payden ... all kinds of spellings of all of these.
