I work in a pre-school, and I am in school to become a teacher. I have already taken one of my certification tests for teaching....With any of this proof, can I get the Teachers rate at the Swan/ Dolphin?

Thanks in Advance!:)

Do you have your certification--either for pre-school or regular? If you have certification, yes, If not, you'll need to get that first, as a teaching certificate is required.

I am registered as a substitute teacher, but they don`t issue certificates here. A teaching license isn`t required either. The only item I could show would be a pay stub with the school`s name on it. Would this work?

I teach in the corporate world and DO NOT have a teaching certificate. I just returned from the Swan with the teachers rate. You only need a letter on letterhead from your employer stating that you teach. Verify this with reservationist if you like, but I was told this before my arrival and had no problem,

A "head's up"...

Recently people here have been reporting that S/D is tightening the requirements to receive the teachers rate due to abuse (S/D management's term, not mine). Unless you're actively employed as a teacher at an instutution of learning, odds are you may not qualify for the rate in the future.

If you're a teachers' aide, day care provider, corporate trainer, scout leader, student teacher, education major, retired teacher, etc. you better double check with them.

A "certificate" is not proof. When we called, they stated my wife would need to present a school issued ID card, or letter from her principal that clearly showed she was a "teacher". Others have said that a paystub showing this was also acceptable. But when I asked if a state teaching certificate would do, they flatly said "No".

It's nice the search funtion is back.... Here's the thread I mentioned.

If you are in a actual Preschool, you need to have a letter, on letterhead that states you are a teacher there. That will be enough proof.

I checked into the Dolphin two weeks ago with my pay stub and letter from my high school principal and the desk clerk (he appeared to be a veteran) never even asked for my documents. And I was ALL ready with them too.

Great resort and location is 5-star.

It that way all the time. Our last two stays at WDW were on AP discounts. Once were asked to show our APs, the other time we weren't. Either way, be prepared... otherwise you're up the proverbial creek.

My friends stayed at the dolphin over Christmas vacation, she's a pre-school teacher (no state certification) no problem. She showed her pay stub.

Cool!

Thanks for the great replies, I'll call the S/D and I'm sure I'll have no problem getting a letter on letterhead as well as a checkstub stating that I work at the preschool....

Thanks again!;)
